New apps won't update

I just purchased my new iMac and im trying to update my pre-installed iphoto and other apps. You open the app store and it says updates are available but when you try to update them it says "you must sign in to the account you used to purchase these apps". The problem is, if I uninstall these apps it will make me purchase them to update the apps. I just want to update the application that I was told is included in my purchase of my new iMac.
Any thoughts?

I have 2 folios that are due to be released to my app this Christmas - both fall within the 22nd-29th window iTunes have chosen to close down.
So even though I can publish my folios through DPS over Christmas and pre-plan my app description in iTunes accordingly - before the 22nd - will those published folios not appear in my app?

Correct. An app can only be updated under the Apple ID that was used to orginally acquire the app. If that is a problem you can delete the app and download again under the new userid. If you paid for the app you will have to pay again. Your old Apple ID does not go away so there is no reason to not use it to download the apps.
You cannot delete the apps that came with IOS. If you want to "hide" the apps simply put the apps into an application folder by dragging one app onto another. You can do this to all the IOS apps.

You can't all apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase/download it.

Since updating my iPhone 4S, existing apps won't update and cannot update new apps even after deleting apps to make room. What can I do?

Arrrrggghhh! My iPad is buggered. I have 36 updates waiting and none of them will update. I'm away for the holidays so can't connect to my computer. I've tried powering off normally and doing a hard reboot (power + home) - nothing. It shows the black bar across the bottom of the app but nothing is happening. I bought a new iPad in 2012. Everything was fine, but now two apps won't update. Message: "Unable to download application. Could not be downloaded at this time." I have 30GB free space. Hi All my iPhone 5 and new iPad won't update apps or download music through wifi the message says unable to download (app name) please try again later with options of retry or done .
This problem of connectivity will only happen when trying to download through iTunes or the apple store if I then check a web page and browse it has no problems using the Wifi. My broadband provider is 02 I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem I have done a speed test through the iPad and I am receiving 5.88 Mbps any ideas ?

I also have the same problem but on an iPhone 5C. everything else like itunes radio work fine, it's just the itunes and app store. I have recently updated to ios 7.1 and some of my apps crash when i open them.

Thank you! I did change my Apple ID in february. But as I recall it I downloaded the app later than that, and in the Info in iTunes (on the Mac) it mentions my new Apple ID. I also bought it in Spain, and now I'm in Denmark. But none of the other apps I bought at the same time have had those problems. And do you have any solution to solve the problem? I tried to login with my old Apple ID, but for some reason the password won't work. It even told me that my birthday is wrong when I tried to renew the password? You may of had a corrupted install. Connect to iTunes backup then restore. Or update the apps on itunes then sync to the iPhone

I can't figure out why my apps won't update on my iPhone. I have rebooted, deleted the apps that wouldn't update and froze (waiting) and rebooted after that. I may not have the greatest wifi connection ... I am out of town and dependent on hotel/convention center wifi. Went to App Store to reload the deleted apps (some), but same thing. I would do a restore using iTunes. This will re-install the latest iOS 6 with factory settings, then you'll have to re-enter your settings and re-install your apps. But everything should work after that.

If you're stuck within an app or you've noticed a problem, simply hold both the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time. It's important to keep your fingers on these buttons until step 3.
