New Area Codes

Since "search" isn't working for the discussions I thought I would throw this out there. Today I tried to enter a dialed number from recents as a new contact. Turns out the number is using a new Los Angeles area code 424 (Santa Monica). The iPhone wouldn't let me store the contact and would just kick me out of that section.
I realized when entering contacts from recents or if you display details of recent calls, iPhone will list the city that the area code is associated with.
I am assuming that since area code 424 is new, that might have been the reason. Not sure but I have had no other troubles other than that. I was able to enter the number into a contact by starting from scratch as a new contact entry, rather than using recents to add the number.
Just in case anyone else has a similar problem, that might be the cause and a work-around.
I love my iPhone and basically wasted a day at work giving demos.

New City/Area Code??

I'm visiting another city and I can't figure out how to set up a local number to call so that I can access my Skype 2 Go. How do I do this?
There is a feature where I can change my current local area code, but I don't understand what it does, or if it's necessary when I'm temporarily away from my home city. Please help!

Why is it you want verizon to jump through hoops? The number you have will ring no matter where you are so a new number is not really necessary. You are not charged long distance and with today's phone service I doubt anyone else is either.
You just change your number if you desire, in the old land line days that phone forwarding message was useful but like everything today it has been discontinued its progress I guess.
Just remember your number was not transferred even in cases you moved across the street, today the number follows you all over the world. Progress?
Changing a number is also risky in that the last person who had it could of been doing something to break the law, or had bill collectors calling all night and day, or other annoyances. Keep the number you have and stay happy. That is my advice.

Dialing local area code with new digital voice?

So I just had Verizon phone/tv/internet installed 2 days ago. I have FIOS digital voice and I have to dial my area code to make all local calls. I'm told this service is 6 months new and that I will see a nearly $10 savings in government charges and taxes from other FIOS telephone customers.
Anyone out there have digital voice and knows someone who has regular FIOS voice and compared bills yet? Curious since it would be a couple of months before I know the exact savings. I hear the first bill is will be different than the rest.

Area code of new #

During activation, how does the iPhone determine the area code of your new phone number? Because I work at one place, but live at another with a different area code. I want the area code to be from the place where I live. Would I have to be there to activate my iPhone?
If it helps, I'm thinking of buying my phone from the place where I work. Does it matter, though?

The area code will be assigned based on the billing address you enter during the activation process.

What is the purpose Creating of new Asset code when Trf 1 Bus area to other

As per our Asset verification, some assets should be transferd to one business area to other. But at the time it doing new asset cosde has to be created.
Can someone explain me why new asset code rather than just same code transfer.

When you create an new asset it using the BA from the cost centre assigned to the asset. When the BA is wrong or have to be chaned then you have to do a tranfere to the correct cost centre / BA

How to get new company code and controlling area in SRM

Hi SDN,
we are on SRM 5.0.
Our finacial experts want to implement a new company code and controlling area.
In SRM I can set up a new company code easily in ppoma_bbp and import a new plant from backend for the new company code.
When testing in EBP I get the error: "company code xyz not available in controlling area zzz"
So I need to import the new backend controlling area, too. How can I get the second controlling area in SRM?

in fact I can see in backend in transaction KS03 (show cost center) there in the F4s, which comp.code + controll area combinations are valid and have indeed cost centers assigned.
So I have a new valid comp.code and a new valid cont.area.
The new comp.code belongs to the new contr. area.
In SRM I set the BUK attribute as described by Sanjeev (I had that already done). Still, if it is like you say, why do I get an error in EBP when trying to buy products from the new plant in the new company code...
Is there any more config.work necessary in backend or SRM?

Duties are not calculating for new tax code

hello all,
I have some tax codes through which i am able to calculate the BED and so on. now BED rate has been changed so have created new tax code, but with that code BED is not calculating only SHEC is calculating.
What could be the reason for this pls explain me.

Hi. Wanted to set up a Skype number with the area code, 316, from my hometown of Wichita, Kansas. And, but, that area code doesn't appear on the pulldown menu. Any help? Have a feeling I'm being dumb and missing something obvious, but that's the trouble with being dumb -- the obvious isn't.

Unfortunately, if Skype cannot obtain blocks of numbers from the telephone service providers, then that is how there can be holes in the lists of available numbers. There can be several legitimate reasons why this occurs. As Joanna noted, above, we need to check back on occasion.

Creation of New Company code

Hi,
The customer has asked to create a Company code, i have created it.
I have maintained the required Configuration in Enterprise structure, Financial accounting Global setting, General ledger Accounting.
i can do the posting to this Co.code in FB01.
Now, do i need to do anything in Controlling for this New Co.code?
And also, Please explain what is " Cross-system Company codes"?
because while doing posting in FB01, i got error that, the Cross-system Company codes ia not maintained. so i have maintained it in Global Organization Units.

Definition
Cross-system company codes are used in the distribution in financial accounting. There is exactly one central system for each cross-system company code in the distributed environment. One company code has to be assigned to this cross-system company code on each system involved in the distribution.
When sending an I-Doc with company code-dependent data, the company code is replaced with the cross-system company code in all company code fields. When receiving this kind of IDoc the reverse conversion takes place on the target system.
In this section you maintain the cross-system company codes and allocate them to the local company codes.
Recommendation
The use of cross-system company codes and business areas in distributed financial accounting is a provisional measure. SAP reserves the right to replace this in a future release with a tool that allows a conversion for all the organizational units of the SAP system.
Therefore SAP recommends that you choose consistent identifiers for the company code and the cross-system company code.
Activities
1. Create a cross-system company code.
2. Assign the cross-system company code to a chart of accounts to which it is also assigned on the central system.
This setting is needed on the decentral systems in order to determine the chart of accounts of the company code on the central system.
3. Assign cross-system company codes to the local company codes.
Specify the identifiers of the relevant cross-system company codes for each of the individual company codes.

UK Payroll new tax code 1000L

In UK Payroll new tax code 1000L for year 2014-April 06th. I have updated in Constant table V_T511K effective April 06th 2014 but this code is not going to Ceridian interface(PU12). I would like to know where we need to apply this new tax code?. Is there any OSS Notes?. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in Advance

Please note that the tax calculation for UK payroll is done based on the tax code as maintained in IT0065 ,.
Also please note the following :-
Code 0T u2013 This code is used cumulatively with no pay adjustment and all pay is taxed according to the relevant rate dependent on the level of earnings
Code BR - This code means that all the employeesu2019 pay is liable to basic rate tax and there is no pay adjustment allowed
Tables T5G01 and T5G02 are then used by payroll for tax calculation.

Is there a way to force a new session so my "on new session" code will run?

I'm using apex.oracle.com and I find values of application (global) and page items persisting across logins.
I didn't expect that? I thought they would go away when I logged out of APEX. But I can change the values, logout, and log back in to the same values. And when I login and start an application, it's not running my "shared components > application processes" initialization code which is set "on new session".
I thought each login would be a distinct new session with it's distinct set of items. (see definition below)
So when I run an application, is there a way to force a new session so my "on new session" code will run?

What Is a Session?
A session is a logical construct that establishes persistence (or stateful behavior) across page views. Each session is assigned a unique identifier. The Application Express engine uses this identifier (or session ID) to store and retrieve an application's working set of data (or session state) before and after each page view.

I cleaned up the copy of the Select List code in APEX 4.1.xxx which was not operating correctly before. Now it matches what I have in APEX 4.2.yyyy. And, drum roll please, the select list seemingly works fine there (4.1) as well. But now, the initialization code--which was working fine(!)--FAILS in 4.1!

Okay. Maybe this will help. 1) I logged in. Ran the login page but did not login. Opened the "session" window and wrote down the session ID. Logged out and back in. 2) Ran the login page but did not login. Opened the "session" window and .... it has the same session ID? 3) So the session is persisting across logins!! How is that possible?
(More) When I log into 3 different applications, I get a different session ID for each but repeated logins always give the same session ID for any given session.

Unwanted G/L Codes in a new Company Code

We at Pantaloon Retail India Ltd. have created a New Company Code 0114 - Pantaloon Food Products India Ltd.
The same has been created by copying an existing Company Code 0101- Pantaloon Retail India Ltd.
While doing it some unwanted G/Ls have been copied and been transported to Production.
Now no transaction has been done in any of the G/Ls in the Company Code.
We are proposing to delete these G/Ls by following method:
1.Making Company Code non productive thru OBR3.
2.Deletion of G/L for the specific Co. Code thru OBR2.
We want to know if it is technically the correct way of doing it.Will there be any adverse impact on the functional aspects of the system.
Can the G/Ls be re created, if needed, at a later date?

Hi,
I presume, both of these companies use the same chart of accounts, right? If it's only several G/Ls, I'd suggest to mark them for deletion or block them in Company Code. Of course, you will be abrle to create the m again (FS00) or unblock them in the future.

Extend a customer to a new company code (IDoc DEBMAS06)

Hi,
I'm experienceing problems when I try to add company code data (segment E1KNB1M) and sales data (segment E1KNVVM) to an incoming IDoc of basic type DEBMAS06. The customer is to be extended into two company codes and correlating sales areas.
I have implemented notes 802008 and 895885 and now I get the error message "No batch input data for screen SAPMF02D 0310" when I check in WE02.
I have narrowed down the problem to billing details on sales data. The problem is that the field account assignment group (KNVV-KTGRD) is emptied on the last run of sales data processing. The value is there earlier but then vanishes mysteriously. Has anyone a tip on how to get around this problem?
I would most apprechiate any help in this matter.

Extend vendors to a new company code

We are creating a new company code and I want to know whether there is any standard transcation code to mass create the vendors master from the existing company code to the new company code without any BDC or LSMW.

Hi,
Go to transaction XK99. Here you can extend vendors from one company code to another with below steps:-
1. In XK99 slect the LFB1 - Company code dat ,and press F8.( Do not select the fields like MM17).
2. Their will be 2 tab. select the check for DO not change for existing data.
3. In other tab (data to be created)...give the list of vendors or Balck and the TO comp code.
4. Bottem of this tab you have to mention the FROM company code.
5. Press F8 and save.
With the same method you can extend vendors from one Pur org. to another pur org. by selecting LFM1 instead of LFB1.
