Hi there
I got my new battery this afternoon! Haven't use it yet! I was woundering if apple have some kind of "battery guide" for maxiumum performance? Like, charge it fully up and drain it 3 times or calibrate it first time, and so on?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Received new battery - Now MBP runs much hotter

My old battery had no poblems - MBP had no problem, now with new battery it is running much hotter and fans come on big time. Had no noise at all with first battery. Guess I'll call Apple and find out what's going on.

I'm trying out the new battery (normal use of MBP is with line current and external kvm). On battery power the CPU temp stays in the fifties -- much hotter when plugged in for some reason. Also, on battery, there is a new, faint but noticeable noise, not steady but about one-second bursts with a microsecond inbetween, so 50-60 Hz. I'm thinking of visiting a genius.
BREAKING NEWS: As the fuel gauge went down below 1:10 hr remaining, the menu bar icon shifted to "Calculating", with a red bar at the left end. System profiler shows all zeros in the Power submenu. Something is definitely amiss.

Can i get the new battery now?

My battery health shown on both iStat Pro and coconutbattery is

Cycles : 250
I use the Macbook Pro for about 11 months.

Assuming you mean a Macbook Pro laptop and not the Mac Pro tower, then batteries wear out. 4 years is a long time for a battery to be in constant use. In general I've ended up replacing my laptop batteries about once ever 2 years, and at that time I'm often down to 30 to 45 minutes of battery life.
So if you are not ready to get a new Mac, by all means get a new battery.

Installed new battery now fan runs

I have an older MacBook circa 2006. I recently installed a new battery. Now the fan runs occasionally while it never did it before. When I don't hear the fan it is running at 1500rpm and when the fan is running it is approx. 4500 rpm. Is this normal behavior? I was concerned because the fan hadn't run much before but my battery had been dead for a long time. I always use it on a hard flat surface and never on my lap. Thanks for your advice.

You might try a SMC reset. One of the things it can repair is:

HT4623 After ios7 update can't send or receive emails. Have turned off and on, hVe rebooted, have deleted account and adding as new. Now what?

Upgraded to ios7 on iPad 2. Now can't send or receive mail (outlook).
I tried starting and restarting. I tried rebooting. I tried deleting mail account and adding in again. I
Now what do I do?

I think I have solved this problem on m iPad2 by:
1. Reinstalling my email account.
2. Changing the settings on my PC to stop it from deleting my email from the server before my iPad could load them.
My PC uses Windows Air Mail. I made no known changes to my PC from the time I was running iOS6 to the installation of iOS7 ??? MS did come out with several updates this week??
3. In the same time frame when I was scrolling through web pages the Control Bar popped up every third stroke. It is very easy to change the setting of the Wy Fi setting from On to Off while deleting the unwanted Control Panel without any indication. This means that the Wy Fi must be constantly checked to make sure that is ON???
The three problems at the same time have made this the worst mess to fix in 12 years of internet use. The fix has lasted for about 8 hours at this point, Tomorrow will tell.

Sorry to be a noob, but I have installed and am evaluating Adobe Media Server for our organization.
I have installed fms on a linux machine, the URL of the index page is : http://mydomain/fms/
It plays the sample videos.
I'm reading the Dev Guid, it says "To stream files over RTMP only, copy files to RootInstall/applications/vod/media. To stream files over RTMP and allow progressive download over HTTP, copy files to RootInstall/webroot/vod."
Ok, great. I uploaded my videos. There's one called: RootInstall/applications/vod/media/videotest.flv.
Now what?
I can access the videos in /webroot/vod directly through the browser. http://mydomain/fms/vod/vid.flv
How do I stream the video in RootInstall/applications/vod/media/videotest.flv ?
I want to embed the flash player in a web page on a different server, but I can't figure out how to.
Is there some documentation more like a "User's Guide" other than the install docs and dev guide?

The Dev Guide has an example of creating a media player from scratch -- the files are installed with FMS:

There are links on the bottom of that page to pre-built media players you can use, including the FLVPlayback component. The link I think you should check out is a DevNet article that walks you through using the FLVPlayback component:

After you test locally, upload the SWF file(s) and HTML file to your web server and leave the FLV file in the vod/media folder. To see the video, just open the HTML page in a browser. When you press play, the FLVPlayback component contacts FMS and plays the video.

Installed new battery, now computer is extremely slow

My battery was DEAD, and I just installed the new one today. (It isn't the one from apple, but Read reviews that this was good so I got it). But I installed the new battery today, and every since, my computer gets really slow and starts to lag a ton after 5 mins of starting up. I've never had this problem before. I tried the smc reset (not sure if it is actually resetting). I did a pram reset as well. I also have a lot of space. It is even slow and laggy when I am not running any programs. Once I start a video, for example on skype, or on youtube, it lags like crazy.
Please help me fix this.

Try having a technician install a battery made for your device.
Using things not made for your computer (or approved by the manufacturer) is a poor way to save money.

New Battery, Now Powerbook restarts after sleep everytime

So as the subject says I bought a new battery for my 17 inch powerbook about a month or so ago. Since I started using it almost anytime I let the computer go to sleep while an application is running it will require me to restart when I wake it from sleep. This is more of an annoyance than anything but it would be very helpful if there was a fix for this.

My Canon EOS Rebel T4i will not operate with a new battery. What could cause this problem?

While take pictures with my Canon EOS Rebel T4i camera it died. I assumed it was a dead battery. Upon charging the battery it would take just a few pictures and die again. I purchased a new cannon battery and fully charged it and now the camera will not even come on. What could cause this?

Sounds like the micro-switch in either the battery door or memory card door is barely making contact. If either of those two doors are opened the camera will immediatley power off. The micro-switch is in the door frame. The door itself has a tab which pushes on the switch.

New iphone, now what to do with the old one

I am sure I am not the only one that picked up the new iphone after having the first one. My kids love to watch disney shows that we bought through itunes on my phone. The goal was, to use my old iphone as an ipod and let them watch the shows on it. itunes will no longer let me change the media on that phone. Is there a way to have itunes recognize this old phone as just an ipod to synch? Its crazy to have a 400.00 paper weight now as it should still play video even though its not used as a phone. You should not have to have the phone activated to use the other features in it like the ipod touch has...

I saw an earlier post that said you could do this. To clarify how, make sure there is no sim card in the old iphone if you want to use it as an ipod. Not sure why AT&T put my new sim card from the new iphone in the old iphone? That was the problem. I just updated the old iphone with videos and it appears to work fine.

You can sync it to your iTunes library on your new computer(not iTunes account) after you copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from your old computer.
