During EA's latest investor call, the company's CFO, Blake Jorgensen, confirmed a new Battlefield game for next year. When an investor asked about the future of EA's core titles, Jorgensen said: What we've said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles. This year, obviously, it's Star Wars Battlefront. Next year, it's another Battlefield title." The last Battlefield game released was Battlefield Hardline in March of this year. Now the bad news. In my "Print to Video" pop up, if
I select "Color Bars" , "Black", or any other option
and take out my bars and tone and slug from the
timeline, the print to video does not print anything
to tape except for a nice nothing blue. I don't
even get my actual timeline video printed to tape.

You are a genius! Man do I feel silly. So just for the benefit of others who might read this post, I did exactly as you said, and of course when I restarted FCP, I had to identify my Firewire NTSC setting for the drive. This time, instead of leaving my tapedrive offline, I left it on and immediately saw on my drive monitor the video coming off of my timeline.
Every thing works perfect. I now have a clean timeline with just the content I'm working on and don't have to worry about bars, slugs, post black. Just a few checkboxes and I'm ready to send my tapes off. Really nice feature.

Does anyone know if iWeb 08 will be shipped as part of the new OS X coming out in October or have they pulled it out of the OS and put it only in the iLife bundle?

Your OS X purchase did not come with the iLife apps (iWeb, iPhoto, etc), they are sold as a separate software package called iLife.
OS X Leopard will not include any of the iLife apps.

New hard drives coming. Update projects now or later?

I want to upgrade to FCP 10.1 (from 10.0.9) at the earliest. I travel and shoot video abroad but return to the US to do major editing. So my current hard drives are small: I have media and backups that I've been moving back and forth between drives. I use three Lacie Little Big Disks (2x1TB 7200rpm; 1x2TB 5400rpm) and a Drobo Mini (2 sets of 4x1TB drives). I've also put all my Camera Archives on a 3TB WD USB 3.0 drive.
I have new desktop drives coming right after Christmas. I am considering upgrading to 10.1 now. I will use Event Manager X to update projects and their associated events one at a time (following the guidance of Philip Hodgetts' article on FCP.co).
My question: Is it advisable to go ahead with the upgrade now and then move libraries to the new drives? (Or would it be better to wait until the new drives arrive?)

May as well do it now. You can move the libraries at will whenever you want.

Why should you? Both, Photos and iPhoto, also Aperture can coexist peacefully.
Keep organizing your photos in iPhoto, while giving Photos a trial run. And when you are sure that Photos is what you want migrate your iphoto Libraries. But you may still want to use iPhoto for editing or adding Places to photos and similar.
So keep it installed.

It does not matter whether the game was released last week or last year, just as long as it is not pre-owned. It's almost certain there will be an new iPod touch coming. I doubt very much that they have stopped developing and discontinued the iPod touch with the existing models.
The question is "when?", and no-one outside Apple knows that.

I would recommend that you do neither unless there's some feature in Yosemite that you absolutely must have. With broad adoption (i.e., after the OS is released to the public), all kinds of problems surface which get fixed in updates. You can take advantage of their discovery and resolution by giving the OS a chance to mature. Since you're asking about going to Mavericks, which has already been out for eight months, there was clearly not that much exciting (except, perhaps, the price) to encourage an upgrade, so staying put was prudent. Once Yosemite's wrinkles are ironed out, you'll be able to jump straight to it, after you make a bootable backup of your ML partition of course, so that you can always retreat if necessary.

I just bought an ipad,not even 30 days ago, now the new one is coming out next week. can I exchange?

Has anyone heard if verizon will be offering an exchange policy like they did for the iphone? I haven't even had my ipad 30 days and now the new one is coming out next week. Is verizon going to screw it's customers or allow you to exchange for the new one?

Verizon is not even giving the $100 credit that Apple is giving if you bought within 14 days. I called and was told I had to pay a restocking fee of $70 plus a reactivation fee of $35 so I could exchange and get an Ipad 2 and pay $105 as basically a penalty instead fo getting a $100 credit.
So don't tell me Verizon is not screwing their Ipad customers who just bought an Ipad.

Bestbuy never gets new release games on time.

I had to cancel Tomb Raider Definitive Edition and now Toukiden is backordered. Bestbuy never get any new release games on time. What's the point of having Gamers Club Unlocked membership when you never get games on day 1.

To be the best in the gaming business, you have to always work to have every gaming product when it’s released. Sometimes having it a few days later isn’t going to cut it and I apologize for the disappointment that this has caused you.
We are constantly working with the vendors to make sure that we have the most up to date release information and that we can have it in our stores on time. I am sorry to hear that the delay in our receiving Tomb Raider caused you to choose to cancel your order. Hopefully you have since received your copy of Toukiden.
Obviously while you may not have the game on day one, the benefit of getting 20% off new games should help offset that inconvenience along with receiving double points on those new game purchases as well.
