New Build Nightmare

I've moved into a New Build home and can't receive any EE signal inside my home. 4G does not work at all and if the normal signal works when I answer the phone the person on the other end cannot hers me unless I exit my house, so I have to leave me house every time I need to make a call.
I've only been at the new place a week and already it is driving me crazy.
This is not acceptable for me as it means the moment I enter my house the mobile phone I pay £42 a month for is useless.

Ask for a signal box.
You won't be able to cancel EE didn't force you to move house.

  • Another new build nightmare

Hi,  I have been waiting for over 4 months to get broadband and I still don't have it, even if I have spent over half an hour on the phone with sky every week, with a nice bill on my mobile phone. This as I live in a new build and Openreach needed to do some works. This morning I got the news that they have done a step ahead, even if there are still works needed.I then came back home and realised that some one (probably Openreach) placed a random cable attaching it to my house without asking for any permission and damaging the exterior of my house. I live in a conservation area - now it looks like I am not living in the UK but in a uncivilised country. The cable they placed is not safe and not decent. I still can't believe they accessed my property without permission and attached a cable to my wall leaving it floating in the air over my garden to reach a pole that is about 10m from my house. I now need to start a new nightmare process to get this cable removed and installed properly, still without knowing when I will be allowed to get internet at my house. Lovely brand experience.

I contacted Openereach only after Sky asked me to. And when I contacted Openreach, they told me this is always the case when it is a new build and it's not in database. When everything exists in system, it's called Gold match, but when it doesn't Openreach does let ISP to manually supply the address and that is called Bronze search. How else a brand new build will ever get a broadband, if no ISP can place the order because it doesn't exst in Openreach database. It won't ever be added to Openreach database, because Openreach only maintain network and they don't sell lines. Openreach is an independent company, and every ISP including BT has to request them for any provisioning. I have worked (backend system) on B Sky B, before it was bought by Sky and then I went on to work for Telefonica Broadband services. I know how provisioning system work and the work flow of requests from ISP to Openreach. Last year even Telefonica sold it's home broadband business. Otherwise I wouldn't have been looking for sky. My apartment already has running line of Hyperoptic. As I said in my other post, only reason for me going for Sky was it's competitive price and nothing else.

  • Problem with MSI 975x Platinum based new build

I am having what looks like a familiar issue with setting up a new build PC. Spec is as follows:
    MSI 975x Platinum edition MOBO
Intel Core Duo 2 e6600 CPU
    Western Digital Raptor 150GB S150 16mb 10000rpm SATA drive
    Corsair Memory TWIN2X2048-6400 2x1GB 240-Pin DIMM XMS2-6400 CL5
    SONY DVD-RW
The problem comes when trying to install Windows XP on the single SATA drive (I don't want a RAID array - mainly as I only have 1 hard drive!).
I press F6 as instructed to install the SATA drive - I have created a disk with the necessary driver files from the MSI website.
Based on other posts I have seen I have put all the files except "txtsetup.oem" in another folder on the floppy (either "\win_XP" or "\winXP"). However I still get the same error message:
"file \x32\jraid.sys caused an unexpected error (18) at line 2108 in d:\xpspl\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c"
I am beginning to think I can't install XP to a SATA drive.  Can anyone help with this? Is there an "official" driver floppy disk I can get from MSI in exactly the right format?
Alternatively is it worthwhile buying a small standard IDE drive and installing XP to that to get me going and then install the SATA drive once XP is going? Would it then be possible to shift XP onto the faster SATA drive?
    Thanks

if you using 1 sata drive you dont set it up as a raid , in the sata options set it up as ide enhanced also in this mode no need for pressing f6 just make sure that the sata is set to 1st boot hdd , if you using 1 sata and 1 ide hdd and tring to isntall on the sata disconnect the ide hdd because it will mess with your drive letters in windows ... if you goin raid ( achi mode is only for sata 2 drives with NCQ = native command queing and your drives have to support this mode ) then in the sata drives portion set it to raid ( achi if your drives support it )  in the force part set it to force gen 1 ( for sata 1 drives ) force gen 2 ( for sata 2 drives ) then you will need to set up the raid config in the intel raid config ( its the next post screen telling you press CTRL+I ) set it up reboot reneter bios set hdd priority to intel raid 0 then intsall windows but press f6 ... yes i ran it 2 ways single sata drive and now raided 80's in raid 0 ( i dont have NCQ support yet )

Done plenty of AMD builds using AGP cards so this is a little different for me!
Have finished putting it all together.
Upon power up for the first time im getting no output to monitor?
card has Svideo out and two DVI conectors, im using an anoloug monitor using the DVI to anoulge converter thingy that is supplied.
Monitor just displays no input detected, monitor is fine as works on old system..
    Many thanks

  • [SOLVED]New Build, no sound, Alsa unable to open slave

I've been happily using Arch on an old laptop I had lying around for 4/5  months, alongside ARM on my Raspberry Pi for a year or so. Being more than happy with it I decided to sell my 2011 i5 iMac, build a pc and hopefully learn something along the way. I mention this as it's my first build and the issue may be hardware realted, or more likely my assembly of the hardware, I've updated my sig to reflect the new parts.
The first decision I made two days ago upon putting the system together. I had two plugs, one for HD audio, another for Realtek audio, I went with the HD option. The other variable that is new to me is an audio option in the Gigabyte uefi/bios for audio which has options for enabled, disabled & auto - I've tried all three. I thought at first going with HD option may have meant sound only via hdmi, I'm using an old vga monitor, but after a little reading it seems the HD option should work with the standard audio out's on the motherboard & case too.
I've got a 3.5mm jack plugged into the line out on the back of the motherboard going to a phono connection on my stereo, I've also tried the headphone out on the front of the case, Zalman Z9.
    I've installed alsa-plugins and alsa-utils. Upon running speaker-test, or speaker-test -c 2 I'm getting:
    speaker-test -c 2
    speaker-test 1.0.27.2
    Playback device is default
    Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels

The above is all without any .asoundrc in my home directory or anything in /etc.modprobe.d/*.conf
From the wiki I've tried putting
    options snd slots=snd_mia,snd_hda_intel
    options snd_mia index=0
    options snd_hda_intel index=1
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, and tried reversing the 1 and 0, both 0's, both 1's to no avail.
I've tried a few variations in .asoundrc based on the wiki example with no luck.
I'm lost, this is the first time I've had sound issues with linux and I'm really not sure if it's rooted in the hardware, my first attempt at building a pc or a simple alsa config issue.
Googling for unable to open slave in alsa seems to bring up mainly conflicting programm issues whic I don't think is my issue as I have no sound at all.
    *edit*
perhaps this should be in newbie corner? my linux sound knowledge is definitely newbie status.

Solved, not sure where I was going wrong in my initial attempts but a simple .asoundrc has my speakers singing. Could have sworn this was tried to death in the first half hour or so, oh well.
On the plus side I spent my lunch hour today getting a rough idea of sound on linux and alsa preparing for a fight with my new build, ten minutes after booting up the new machine on my return home & all is well.

  • New line at a new build

    Hi
On the 18/2/14 I ordered a new line and bb package to my new build property. My current Infinity 2 services were terminated on the 28/2/14 and I was given the standard 4 week wait to be connected back up again but on standard ADSL broadband as Infinity didn’t come up on the system yet (which it now does btw).
Everything was setup for the 27th March, I took the day off as holiday and no engineer turned up even though I was sent numerous txts and emails saying they would. No one contacted me and I got no explanation why this occurred. I rang up the next day and was told about some Openreach work that hadn’t been completed. Another update today and its now scheduled for completion on the 15/16th April so I assume I might be able to reschedule then if its completed.
That will mean 8 weeks without a phone line or bb yet I am continually charged (like I’m still living at my old address) for services I can not use at all. On the 3/3/14 a full payment was made, then on the 21/3/14 another which had discounts for line rental (I make an annual payment) which came out in £1.98 credit, but the breakdown of the bill has a charge for £25 for Infinity 2 to begin with which I don’t even have. I would of thought that as I have no services what so ever I should only be given credit each month for the line rental I have already paid for.
If possible could some one please check my order as I would like a refund for what I cannot use and terminate any further payments until my services have been installed (which could be anyone’s guess knowing Openreach timescales). I have no use of BT WIFI or BT Sport and as nothing is within my range.
    Regards
    Chris

  • NO LINE!!! NO HELP! NO DUCTING NEW BUILD HOUSE

So here goes . , my ongoing unlimited stress with bt

closest visit? 23 august!!!!! WHAT A JOKE
wait till 23th bt was suppose to turn up between 1-6pm noone turned up noone called to say they wasnt turn up.
called them up for them to tell me there was a fault in my line? i dont even have a line connected!!!
they also tell me i didnt need someone to come out because the work inside the house was complete and all they had to do with flick a so called switch in the exchange! but yet they booked a appointment and it took them over 4 weeks for them to notice this even after i told them it was a new build with all new fitted bt installed inside and going outside the house into the ground!more wasted time and hassle!
got told it will be connected within 24 hours and i have to wait till 8pm on the friday before calling back , so i ask what time does call centre close friday , get told 10pm ok i said if not connected by 8.01 i will call back after being hung up on and sent to 3 different people i got that so come 8pm friday no connection no line so i call bt back ( ON A MOBILE!!) and what the heck there closed FALSE INFORMATION AGAIN
come saturday i call them again to be passed from pillow to post spending over 3 hours on the phone to them!!!!!
i eventually get through to a manager who tells me the builders need to confirm they have installed the ''' duct'''' so called outside the house. this one manager was the one i spoke to on friday who said he would call me on satursday at 11am. which he never called, in fact he never bothered to call untill come near on 5pm after being on hold and on the phone for over 3 half hours he come through from someone transfereing him as he was the manager on call that day, little to say he was very shocked to have caught me yet again!!!!, where he then went into what his job was and it wasnt stretching to deal with me or my issue as he is very busy! being the manager of not doin the jobs he says i assume!!!!
right so heres a problem i can solve our builders are still building new propertys close to mine so i contact them and approach and they confirm all the work is done, so i relay this back to bt who tell me the order is now goin through and will up and running within 24 hours.
so i then have to wait untill tuesday because of the bank holiday , yet again more calling more transfering here there and everywhere hours and hours pass on the phone
i get back in touch with another manager who tells me that the line will be connected as soon as he has contacted open reach to get someone to turn the line on! wooohoo i think where getting some where
NOOOOO  i then recieve another call telling me open reach cant do any work on the line or any work without the builders contacting them , eve though i have already confirmed it with all of them
come friday 31st september i receive a call saying the builders have confirmed the work and the work will be carried out and i should be connected very soon,
no connection as of monday so i call for a update...
get through to another person who has took all my details but has no idea what is going on and just telling me they understand how im feeling!!!!. who then passes me from manager to manager then to faults, then to accounting then finally to contracts! the guy didnt know who i was why i was put through but got through to open reach who told them the line would be connected working via wednesday ...
wednesday comes and yet again there is no connection no line NOTHING,
i call back up yet again ON A MOBILE to find now that no work will be done no work has been done!
they have no idea who called me to tell me the builders had confirmed it and no idea about the line other than it will not be connected without confirmation from the builders on ducting..
the finall words for the call was that i had to wait another '''24 HOURS''' For an update on open reach connecting the line , his words was just 24 hours for us to get the update and i promise you we will know more
someone is suppose to be calling me back from never land that never calls so i wont hold my breath.
i have NEVER in all my life been messed about by any company as bad as bt has let me down, i cannot trust anything im being told as they keep saying then taking it back and changing it, all i get is im so sorry i understand or, well i dont know why they have told you that or i cant see that or anything like that!..
im at the end of my wit patience and sanity, please if someone can get my line connected please help because im at a right loss with no phone and appointments and calls i need to make
    thank you

    Hi misscheryl1987,
Did you get my email on the 14th?
When I spoke with the engineers' department originally, they confirmed that work would start on the 28/09 but may take up to Monday 01/10 for the line to activate, depending on the amount of work required.
At the moment I am unable to get more updates but I will chase up on Monday when the department I need to speak to is open again.

  • .itl file is locked error after installing new build - iTunes won't open

After upgrading to the new build itunes won't open. I receive an error message "The iTunes Library .itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." When I check permissions I have full control. I tried uninstalling all apple components - iTunes, Quicktime, apple updater - rebooting and then reinstalling but the same error message comes up when I try to start itunes.

Even after uninstalling the .itl file remained in my itunes music folder. I deleted this file after uninstalling again and then reinstalled and the issue was resolved.

  • BT Infinity for new build

    Hi,
I've tried searching the forum but can't seem to find posts that are related to my situation.
Basically I'm moving into a new build.  There isn't a phone line yet.  The postcode checker doesn't think BT Infinity is available, so I can't order.
However, as advised by the FAQ at http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity/BT-Infinity-Availability-FAQs/td-p/181603, I checked on the wholesale checker www.btwholesale.com/adslchecker and it says it's all available.  Any advice please?

  • What to expect from a new build I'm planning

I have a basic "opinion" or "guess" question, please.
I'm planning a new build at some point and have to make a decision on when to take the financial plunge. In a few months, funds will be better, but I can manage the cost now if the speed improvements will be worth it. Speed improvements mean time which means money.
I'm running a small business producing videos for ourselves for business presentations (marketing and fund-raising) using Premiere Pro, outputting to FLV and DVD.
My content is pretty simple: video footage (talking head) from a camcorder, with two more tracks for titles and Photoshop images, with dip-to-black transitions. Soon I'll have my video guru provide some 3D animations that will also be included.
Until now, I've been capturing my footage into an interlaced project where I cut the raw footage into usable pieces. Then, I output those pieces to AVI, which I then run through a routine in Virtual Dub with presets my guru provided me with to take care of noise reduction and deinterlacing. Then, I import that resultant AVI (or set of AVIs) to a progressive project where I finish my editing and add the additional tracks with the titles, images and transitions.
Then, I output that to AVI, and convert those AVIs to FLV and/or use Encore to create DVD images.
The main concern I have is the very long wait times when I output to AVI from Premiere, process with Virtual Dub, and output to DVD image from Encore. (Of course, reduction in any wait time adds up, too.)
So, I have to try to guess at what kind of time I'll save when doing those tasks (and across overall working time) once I build the new machine. That will help me decide on whether to build the new machine now or later, based on the financial criteria.
I currently own an HP workstation, but it will not support the new Fermie CUDA cards. I want to use a GTX-470 (or -480). This is the pivotal issue that requires I build a new machine. Until then, I’m not using the CS5 MPE-CUDA features. What I don't know is how much time it will really save me on those major time-consuming tasks when I do make the jump.
One important consideration may lie in the fact that, accoring to my video guru, one of the advantages of the way Premiere CS5 plays well together with the approved CUDA cards is that it does GPU-based deinterlacing. He's suggesting this should may save me the time of having to do it in Virtual Dub phase (I'm not sure what he suggests about the noise reduction -- I think he may have commented that it may no longer be unnecessary, though to me it has seemd to make a huge improvement).
(Note: I see there are still some bugs in CS5 that hamper the benefits for now. For instance, I've read that there's an issue with CS5 whereby it takes a long time to export to AVI, and that there's a compromise with DV on an external monitor, but I don't know that those are issues in my decision since the former is going to exist regardless of whether I do the new build and the latter probably doesn't even apply to me.)
Here are my two system configurations, the "before and after," that I want to compare or, rather, to please ask for some guesses about as to potential time savings. Maybe I should call them the "Current" and "New build."
    CURRENT:
    - HP z400 machine -- mid-tower (no room for cooling a Fermie card)
    - CPU: Xeon quad-core 4-thread
    - RAM: 8MB DDR2
    - GPU: nVidia FX-580 (obviously won't support new benefits of CS5 the way the GTX-470/480 in the new build will)
    - DRIVES: one HD for OS/apps, one HD for swap, and three HDs in a RAID-5 array for data
    NEW BUILD:
    - high-end full-tower case with plenty of cooling support
    - MOBO: ASUS P6X58D
    - CPU: i7 930 (maybe OCd a bit, or maybe 980x)
    - RAM: 12GB DDR3 triple-channel
    - GPU: nVidia GTX-470 (or maybe 480)
    - DRIVES: either same as current system, or maybe going to five drives in a RAID-3 array for data
I'd be hugely grateful for any guesses as to how much time in the major encoding tasks (and in overall work time) the new build is likely to save me.
    Thanks so much!
    Jay

    Bill Gehrke wrote:
Jay, I wonder about this statement of yours "I currently own an HP workstation, but it will not support the new Fermie CUDA cards". How did you come to that conclusion?
    Hi Bill,
Well, I make that assertion after a huge amount of time lost trying to make it work.
(See my posts July 16 and July 18th in this thread for the longer version of my excursion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2945538#2945538)
The GTX-470 calls for at least 550W of power, The HP z400 workstation comes with 475W and it's a proprietary power supply. It won't take a standard ATX PSU -- the screw holes won't line up and even its pin-out for the system power plug is custom.
Undaunted, I bought a Corsair HX750W power supply and placed it outside of the machine on the floor, and used it solely to power the GPU.
I put the GTX-470 in and left the case cover off while familiarizing myself with Windows 7 for a couple days, but when I came into the office the third say the machine was locked up and the GPU was scorching hot. All fans on all components seemed to be working fine.
(I also noticed that the onboard sound never installed and there was no sound, and that the Sound, video and game controllers section in Device Manager only had four instances of "NVIDIA High Definition Audio." HP tech support was at a loss. My video guru says those drivers are probably normal from the GTX-470 card, but nobody could explain why the mother board considered that a replacement for the onboard sound. We don't know if that was a sign of imperfect compatibility between the GPU and mother board, which seems feasible since I had already learned -- the hard way after days of work -- that the mother board was at least a little custom in that the PSU was custom even at the system plug.)
So, when I had come that mornign and found the machine locked and the GPU super hot, I expermimented by cooling the machine down with a huge 12" external fan, then rebooted. For the next fifteen hours I waited to see if it would again heat up and lock up (or was it "lock up then heat up"?) and put more load on it by playing an AVI in WMP full-screen a number of times. For those fifteen hours the system ran fine and GPU stayed somewhere between cool and only very moderately warm.
Nobody has had a reason why it had ended up with the machine locked and the GTX-470 resulted scorching hot.
Bad GPU? Insufficient cooling? (Which maybe caused the system board to lock down the machine... which caused it to keep the GPU going with insufficient fan power???) Incompatibility between the GPU and system board? (Which had caused it to lock up the GPU in "on" mode and thus get scorching hot?)
And the consensus among those who thought it was a cooling issue was "almost" unanimous in saying that just running it with the case cover on would not be enough to keep the GPU reliably below the necessary cooling threshold, especially since I hadn't even begun to put a real load on it (I hadn't even installed Premiere on the machine yet).
And, it seemed evident to me that trying to creatively pack the machine with fans and cooling was just not realistic. If it is, I'd like to know, since that would be a lot cheaper than building a $5,000 machine. Here's a picture of the machine with the GTX-470 in it: www.silver100.com/x/z400_GTX-470.JPG.
Of course, all the cooling in the world still wouldn't help if the problem was compatibility with the system board.
You'll notice I got no responses at that other thread when I asked what the "guess" was as to the cause. So, I figured that -- short of it being a bad GPU -- building a new machine was the only way to fix it if it was a cooling problem and the only way to fix it if it was a compatibility problem.
I'm sure anxious to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks so much!

  • New build with MSI 970A-G45 won't load OS or live CD

    Motherboard: MSI 970A-G45 AM3+ AMD 970
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 455 Rana 3.3 Ghz Socket AM3
    RAM: G.Skill Sniper Series 2x4GB DDR3 1866, Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
Video Card (original): ASUS ENGTX550 TI DC/DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Video Card (operational): XFX 7600 GT
System HD: Runcore 64GB Sata II SSD
Optical Drive: LITE-ON SATA DVD-RW drive
I just finished building a new upgrade build into an existing case with an existing PSU and hard drives/optical drive. Originally the system wouldn't power on at all, which I traced to the new video card (something to do with grounding or an inadequate power supply maybe?), but in any case I got past that for the moment with my old video card. The system will power on and get to the BIOS screen. I can enter the BIOS and everything looks fine: all my drives are detected, the RAM is present, the CPU looks correct. However, when I go to actually load an operating system, it never loads. After the BIOS screen I just get a blank screen with a white blinking cursor in the upper-left corner, and this never goes away (I've tried leaving it for 10 minutes or more).
Originally I was trying to boot from the mentioned SSD which has both Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7 64-bit partitions installed with GRUB2 to load them. This didn't load, so I tried an Ubuntu 11.04 live CD in my DVD-ROM drive. That didn't work, so I tried the same CD in an external USB CD-ROM drive in case it was a problem with the SATA controller/connectors. Still the same behavior. So I tried a memtest86+ CD in both drives. Still the same behavior. For each of the tests after the first I explicitly opened the boot menu with F11 at the BIOS screen and selected the device I wanted to try.
At this point I've already tried exchanging the memory I had originally bought with the memory I listed above, since the old memory I realized after I bought it was labelled as "Intel i5/i7 compatible" and the new memory is on the MSI support list for this motherboard model. Any thoughts on where to go next? My next thought was to RMA the motherboard but I feel like I'm flying blind here. I've never see a new build get stuck at this point in the boot process.

OK posting from Ubuntu on my now-working build!!
So, after two weeks of messing around with the CPU, RAM, video card, etc., I finally have the thought that the one thing I haven't tried yet is the old SATA expansion PCI card that I put in early on at the bottom of the motherboard underneath the video card (out of direct sight, out of mind apparently), for when I try to connect all 7 of my SATA devices. I tried pulling that out - presto, it boots. Retried a couple of times for proof, keeps booting correctly. It can even load memtest86+ off a CD. Put the PCI card back in - still boots. Reconnected the sata drive - no boot. Remembered that this particular PCI card has two SATA ports and one is for RAID of some kind, tried the other port - now it boots. The drive connected to the card is also detected by the OS.
In conclusion, it was something entirely different from what I was working on, as it usually is.
I'm going to get to work connecting everything back up, getting the new video card working, etc. I suspect I'll be back at least to read when I try to get my memory working at 1866 (different forum I know). Thanks to those who responded for the pointers.

  • No video on new build K9N NEO V3

    Hello all,
New build turns on, no beeps and of course no video. Stays running when is turned on just no video. All fans working (CPU, case, power, and video fans). Have tried detaching the mother board and tested with two video cards (one video card per test) and one stick of memory. Used a CRT monitor and a LCD monitor.
    Here are the numbers:
    msi k9n neo v3
    amd athlon 64 x2 5000+ black edition
chaintech geforce 7300gt (tried other pci video card, pulled from working system)
    crucial 2-1GB 6400

Don't know if it is that, but BIOS supports the 5000 BE from v. 2.3. Perhaps you can get help in making sure what BIOS version you got.
It does sound like Bas says processor related. Cause all required power cables are in place, right?
Why the rush in RMA-ing? You must be pretty good at computers to be able to say definitely when it is RMA time, and what to RMA... Or think you are pretty good.
I do computer support for a living but I will be the first to tell you that I don't know everything.  I just don't know what else it could be and I guess I'm anxious to get my new rig up and running!!  BF2 awaits me . . .     It's comforting to hear someone with the same issue so that I don't feel like I'm going crazy here.

  • H67MA-35 (B3) No video - new build

This is a new build. Intel i5 2400, Corsair CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 memory.  I've tried this outside the case with nothing else but the monitor connected.  All CPU fan powers up.  I hear two beeps, silence, then two beeps, over and over.  No video output.  I've tried multiple DVI and VGA cables.  Even installed the GeForce 8600 GTS video card from a previous build.  Still no video.
    Any ideas?

Only insert one memory module in the slot closest to the CPU.
Then do a full CMOS clear. >>Clear CMOS Guide<<  Ensure that the power cord is removed from the PSU and also remove the CMOS battery for a while.
    Retest.

Has anyone got this error string?
First RAID array I would very much appreciate any help given.

    Hi!
Looking at some info on Google and Microsoft site, I cannot find the BC error code, only the error code ending with B. It indicates an error with the boot device. It can be caused by several things.
Check that you are using the correct device drivers to install Windows
Also, check the installation CD. It could be that the disk was damaged and that you are missing a crucial file because of that
You can also try installing Windows again and choose to recover the previous installation.
If this all does not help, try installing Windows on a single HDD (no raid) to see if that will work.

  • Is BT Infinity Available to New Builds ...

    Hi,
I know there are several posts about this, but 1 more wont hurt.
I previously had BT Infinity, and frankly, loved it. I had the full 40 down 10 up and couldn't rate the service high enough. Perfect.
I moved house a couple of months ago, to a new build - im connected to the Wantage exchange. Big Yay, its infinity enabled! A friend of mine lives just across the road, in one of the pre-existing houses and he has Infinity - I thought I would join up again after my awesome experience before!
However, it seems that I cannot get Infinity - for reasons I cannot yet fathom. The postcode checker states that its available in my area - I know this is not so reliable. I have also checked with my phone number which states that it is not. Strange.
I had a chat with a few of the neighbours .. Also on the new build development ... in fact 2 doors away, and they are having Infinity installed ....
So my question is ... What's wrong with me ... Do BT not like me anymore? Or, as I suspect is more likely, is there an error in the data somewhere and I have simply been omitted ... We were one of the last houses to be built so its entirely possible.
In case the mods take pitty on me, I have PM my details. It would also be useful if you could let me know which Cabinet im on, there are 2 close by, both of which are the Infinity cabinets (Seem Like new installs as there are no older ones).
    Thanks
    Roebuck

Just thought I would update this thread for the mods.
I have had a phone line problem this week and have duly had an engineer out. All went well Phone is fixed - Even turned up on time!!
Whilst he was here I cheekily asked about Infinity, which he stated should be no issue, as I practically live on the exchange in terms of cable length, and im connected to CAB 26, which is fibre enabled and right on the exchange.
He did also state that the postcode in which I live does not exist on the BT and Openreach system - Odd, its been registered with Royal Mail for 3 months - new Sat Navs can find it ...
Anyway, I will wait for the update from you guys, please bear the above in mind if you are checking any databases, I suspect they are incorrect.
    Thanks
    Roebuck
