New Challenge...
Dear All,
I have a new challenge. I down loaded a 'simpler' interactive timeline. Populated it with pics and text. Opened .fla and published a .swf. and try to insert the .swf into CP4, but get this error...
"The Adobe Flash File contains action script that references 'root'. This might cause the Adobe Captivate project to work incorrectly or to stop working. Do you want to continue to add this file?" Yes/No
If I click Yes, then save, then preview project, I get nothing.
The .swf file works just fine in Adobe Flash Player 10 and browsers IE and FFox so I don't know why CP won't open it all the way.
I do notice in the action script in the .fla file that line 6 says "lockroot = true". Would setting this to '=false' fix the problem? Or is there some other protection making it unable to be inserted?
As with the last time, I am able to see a fully functional preview of the .swf file when I follow the path 'Insert--->Animation and click on the .swf'. In the little preview box on the right of the "Open" dialoge box, I see the file and can interact/operate it with correct funtions.
What's going on? Please help! I am desperate to get this one to work! They're fairly small files, so I can send the .zip if you'd like to try. Just email me at...

I just read the post about re: scripting not being recognized in CP4. When I look at the AS, it's already set to
"this._lockroot = true;" like suggested in 1.
1. Try adding this._lockroot = true; in the beginning of your AS on the first frame.
As for 2. suggestion...
2. Exchange _root for this. and _parent. when you reference your movieclips and functions.
It's a little fuzzy as to what or where I replace. What specifically should be typed per 2.? is it "this._parent"?
So I look for any movieclip and function that says "_root" and replace them with "this._parent"? Should there be a lot? Looks like 424 lines of AS. Should I do a replace all? Or just certain ones?

With a new year comes a new challenge.
Parts list:
1 Computer with Windows 7 pro
2 Monitors
2 Keyboards
2 Mice
2 Users
Goal:
Each user to use some random Wondows program independantly with the added
ability to transfer control of at leasst one of the programs to the other
user.
One of my clients brought this to me last week. I know there has been talk
about doing this kind of thing over the years. Are we any closer to being
able to being able to have 2 users work in 2 different programs on the same
computer independantly?

In this case it is a dentist office. The users are sitting next to each

Hello, I might be submitting one to the windows phone forum in vb.net language if you are doing the contest for it too. I been working on a project the last few weeks for windows phone that will have a final application people can play with in the store (Its
not against store rules to open source your full app? This excludes the ads in the store app and some necessary tidbits that may have security information.). I wanted to drop in and see what was going on in the vb.net forum.
