    Hi All,
Whenever I am trying to connect to SQL server 2005 from SAP Client machine getting the following error :

When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.

What are the remote program you are using ? is it VPN, Citrix or Terminal Service ?
SAP B1 supports only citrix or terminal service.

  • Leopard client login problem (Tiger server)... why can't I authenticate?

I look after a number of Macs and PCs at my company. Most Macs are running the latest version of Tiger but the newest machine came with Leopard. All users log into network accounts on our Xserve, running OSX Server (Tiger). However, the Leopard client machine refuses to log in to any network account, including the one I set up specifically for the machine's user, shaking its login window at me.
Users connect using Open Directory Master on the server and none of the Tiger clients have ever had problems logging in.
On the troublesome client machine, I have bound to the server correctly in Directory Utility which declares that the server is responding normally. At the login screen I get a green light and "Network Accounts Available" when I click through the options above the user name field so I know the machine can see the server.
I can successfully log in to a local account and subsequently mount the server volumes using the new name and password I've set up for the user.
    What have I missed?
So far, in my attempts to resolve this I have done the following:
    Removed the password from the new account;
    Unbound from the server, changed the short name of the computer, re-bound to the server;
    Tried logging in to other accounts known to be working;
    In WGM checked that the NFSHomeDirectory entry shows the complete path for the user's home directory;
Trawled through endless forums for clues.
Kerberos is not running. Does it need to be for authenticating Leopard users?
Is there an issue with clear text passwords in Leopard? Seemingly eliminated through a no-password test account.
I'm sure that I logged in successfully once after setting up the machine but, after installing Leopard updates, logging in has consistently failed.
Anyone else having similar problems? Better yet, anyone have any answers?

No need to apologize. I learned the same way you are...
I think you may end up re-binding the 10.4 clients if you kerberize the server.
You may want to go to the server forum for folks with more definitive annswers.

In any case, make sure you have a reliable backup before you do anything.

  • 10.4.7 Server- Client login problem - missing the obvious?

used a similar setup on Xserve G4 and G5 without problems ...
    Client: 10.4.7 MacBook/ G4 PowerBook
    Server - dome G4 iMac - 10.4 retail - upgraded to 10.4.7
    - Kerberos running
    - DNS resolves to FQDN on server and client including reverse lookup
    - User home share is mounted on client under Network
    - from Finder -> Connect to Server you can access the home share
    - authentication and login works for a user Without a home folder on the server
    - when logging in as a user with home folder on the server you don't get an error message on the client, but login screen stays
    - on the server it shows AFP connection for the user
    - you can SSH into the client
    - clearing caches etc on the client does not make a difference
    - IP manually configured on server and client
    - network eliminated by using cross-over lead
    - client Bind successful
    - client displays network users
On the server you can login as an account with home folder on AFP share and get access to the homefolder
    - kept path to homefolder short
    - same happens with homefolder on the default Users share
    Any suggestions?
    TIA,
    Wouter

Try removing ACL's controling the drive that the homefolders are on.

  • Crm client login problem

I have installed CRM 2005(ides version) on windows 2003.after installation I got 3 default clients(000,001,800).I can login to 000,001 but I cant login through 800 client using sap*.I have checked logging with password pass and the password which I have mentioned when installing,Both the passwords are not correct.can anyone help in this regard.

    Hi Jan,
That's because it uses a different user logon not CRM logon.
You need to create an employee business partner.  Then in the admin console create the username and password for that employee.  Then create a subscription for that user (publication user) and assign it to your site.  Download data to mobile and logon to it.
    Cheers

  • R12 Client Login Problem

I have successfully installed EBS r12 in a Windows 2003 Server and I can directly login on Vision in the Windows 2003 server by sysadmin username & password via
    http://tpcl.tpclnh.local:8008/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
The IP address of my Windows 2003 is 10.130.128.220
Then I tried logging in the Application through some workstations on the LAN through http://10.130.128.220:8008
    A page shown
The E-Bussiness Home Page is located at http://tpcl.tpclnh.local:8008/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
The browser autmatically redirects the page to http://tpcl.tpclnh.local:8008/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
But Internet Explorer cannot not display the webpage.
What can I do to make the workstation logging in the system?

Add an entry on the LAN workstation's c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    10.130.128.220 tpcl.tpclnh.local tpcl
Or register the server in your company's DNS.
    Then use the http://tpcl.tpclnh.local:8008/OA_HTML/AppsLogin URL.

  • Problem Creating New Client in SAP NW2004s ABAP+JAVA LINUX

    Hi,
I installed successfully NW2004s dual stack on linux vmware (SUSE10 enterprise server). This stack give me two client by default, 000 and 001. System gives me default user sap* and password: sapn4sadm
I want to implement the process for BW enabling, and I want to create New Client for it. I have been used SCC4 to create a new client by logging on with the Client 000, but the problem start, when I log-on with the new client.
    Client: 002
    User: sap*
    Password: pass
I have tried system default password of sap* , but that also dosen't help.
It doesn't work, I also try RZ10 to change the value of login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0, but I don't find any profile , when I click on the profile field, i get the message "Profile not found". I am not figuring out where I am doing wrong.
How can I success to create a new Client in which i could log on with sap* user. Please Help me
All  yours help would be highly rewarded.
    Obaid.

In order to edit profiles In RZ10, you must first import them.
Menu: Utilities --> Import Profiles --> Of Active Servers
After this you can add your parameter.
One alternative is to edit the profile directly with vi, restart the system, do all client copy tasks, remove the parameter with vi, restart the system again and then import the active profiles.
the profiles are located in directory
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile
and the filename is something like this
    <SID>_DVEBMGS<instancenr>_<hostname>

  • New Client SAP* unable to login with PASS

    Hi All,
We have issues logging in to a newly created client. We enter user SAP* with PASS.
    These are the steps taken:
    1. BD54 - Created Logical system name
    2. SCC4 - Created new "test" client
    3. Login to new client with SAP* and PASS. Failed
    4. Check RZ11. Parameter login/no automatic user sapstar is 0
    5. Restart SAP instance. Still cannot login.
    6. Tried login to other clients with SAP*. Cannot login.
    7. Check DB level, there is no SAP* user in any existing client.
    8. Restarting Windows Server. Try again. Failed.
Please do let me know if we miss out any steps.
    System info:
HR System (netweaver) / MS SQL 2008 R2/ Windows 2008

    Hi,
It is impossible that SAP* does not exist in any client because it is hard-coded in the SAP system and should exist with default password 'pass' even if it is deleted from DB.
Are you trying PASS (as in uppercase) or pass (in lowercase)? It is supposed to be lowercase. Please try this.
Also, which version of SAP Netweaver are you using? For very old versions, the password was some date and not pass.
    Regards,
    Shitij

  • New Client: What is default login + password?

I have created a new client (800) with transaction SCC4. What login can I use to access this new client?
I've tried sap* with a variety of passwords including "pass", "PASS", "Pass", and several other system specific passwords that we've been using. None of them work. How can I find what login to use to setup the new client entry?

    Hello Geisen,
Please check in your profile files if the value of login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set to 1. If it is 1 login through SAP* isnot possible. Change it to 0 and then try with PASS.
This is ofcourse true if you created the new client not using SAP* but some other user like DDIC. If you SAP* then this parameter is already having value 0 and in that case you can ignore my comments.
    Regards.
    Ruchit.

  • Can't login to new Client 100

    Hi,
I have installed SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR1 SP3 ABAP Trial Version on Windows.
I have defined a new Client 100 with transaction SCC4.
I can't login to this new Client, it fails with message "name or password is incorrect". I have tried multiple credentials.
    sap*/minisap
    sap*/pass
    sap*/06071992
    None of them work
    Please can you help?
    Thanks, Olivier

    > I can't login to this new Client, it fails with message "name or password is incorrect". I have tried multiple credentials.
    > sap*/minisap
    > sap*/pass
    > sap*/06071992
sap*/pass is the one you need. For this to work you have to set the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0 (zero) and restart the instance. This parameter defaults to 1.
see [SAP help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/22/41c43ac23cef2fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm] for more info.

  • Default password "PASS" for username SAP* not accepted for new client

I have created a new client, client 200 in my SAP system. I assigned it to a logical system properly and exist as one of the clients on the system together with the default clients "000", "001" and "066". The problem is that when i try connecting to this newly created client using the credentials Username: SAP*, Password: pass i get an error as follows:
name or password is incorrect (repeat logon).
I also tried the password that i use to connect to the default clients and i get the same error message. Please assist.

    Hi,
Set parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar with value 0 in t-code: RZ10 then restart SAP system.
User SAP* may get locked due to incorrect login attempts. So, delete SAP* record from database level.
    > sqlplus / as sysdba
    SQL> delete from sapsr3.usr02 where bname='SAP*' and mandt='<client number>';
it should show 1 rowe deleted..then
    SQL> commit;
Now system will allow you to login with user SAP* and password 'pass'
    With Regards,
    Renu

  • Creating NEW CLIENT,USER and PASSWORD Please

    Hi ..
I am having this problem ,I am from SD-module. I am trying to work with sending and receiving IDOC's . Here i have problem with creating another logical system.could u please assist me in creating another client/user/password on my existed system.so that i can be able to send an idoc from one logical system to another logical system.i would appreciate your efforts.
    regards,
    SURIYA.

    Hi
You can create a client using transaction code SCC4. Then you need to perform a client copy, use transcation SCCL to perform a local client copy from client 000 using SAP_ALL/SAP_CUST profile.
Once you are done with you need to check whether the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set to false (0). This can be achived in transaction code RZ10. You will have to restart the SAP server if the parameter value is altered(if not already 0).
Once the parameter is set then u can login to the client using user SAP* and password "pass". For performing client copy u will log into the destination client that is the client newly created and using SCCL perform the client copy.
Using BD54 u can create a logical system and in transaction SCC4 you can assign this logical system to the new client.
Once you are done with client copy then DDIC user will also be there with the master password given during installation time.
Using transaction SU01 you can create new users according to ur need and assign the roles/profiles as required.
Once this is done you can peform the IDOC sending and recieveing activity in between those clients.
If any more queries feel free to ask.
    Regards
