New cloud symbol in iTunes 11?

In the top left corner of the screen, immediately to the right of the Music content selector, there is a cloud icon in iTunes 11. It's probably obvious, but what does this icon signify? Simply that some of my iTunes content is in iCloud? Thx

Hmm, since I never use streaming, I wonder how that happened.    I looked at the first song that I have with the cloud symbol.
It is "Alone Again Naturally", so I did a search on that.
The cloud version doesn't have my rating, the composer, nor the lyrics, but is shown as last played 11/30/12.    The two other copies have my details, and are shown as last played two different dates.   One of the other copies shows up as "purchased".
I'm wondering if these are songs that I purchased back when they had DRM and then upgraded when they removed the DRM.    Ahh, one kind has "Apple Lossless audio file", the one in the purchased folder has "Protected AAC audio file", and the cloud version has one has 'Purchased AAC audio file".

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.

Do you have iTunes Match or Purchased songs?
If purchased, start iTunes Store > More... > Purchased > Music > re-download from here

HT204406 I recently uploaded a live recording to match. Plays when I listen in "recently added" playlist, but will not play in a new playlist "ineligible" cloud symbol appears

I recently uploaded a live recording to match and it appears (and plays) under "recently added" on the left menu. When I create a new playlist for this music it won't play and has the "ineligible" cloud symbol with slash through it. It must be in the cloud as it's playing now, but the content will not play if moved from "recently added" into a playlist. I'm puzzled. Any help?

I just went back and used Tunesify to convert from mp3 to aac format and it's working now. I've added over 20K to my match library and this is the 1st time something like thas has happened.

Sync what sort of content ? You should be able to keep contacts and bookmarks between the two, but you can't directly copy music or films/tv shows between them - you will either need to sync those via your computer's iTunes, or if they are iTunes purchases and you are in a country where they can be redownloaded then they might show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad

Having connected my new iPhone 6 to itunes and setting it up as normal... i transferred music to it as normal but when i open the music app and select a playlist it has a download cloud next to each track...

After connecting my new iPhone 6 to iTunes, i transferred my music as i always have done. After opening the music app and selecting a playlist there is a download cloud next to each track... this is also the case with each podcast. Also once i reconnect the phone to iTunes go to add another playlist, at the top the "sync music" check tick has disappeared. when i re check that box again it says "Do you want to sync this iPhone all data will be erased"
can anyone help at all?

I've just connected the ipod to my computer and checked the music on the iPod. The album that I am having trouble with shows an exclamation symbol next to it. I've tried deleting the album from iTunes and re downloading it then syncing but it doesn't appear to affect the information shown the iPod. The album neither deletes nor updates.

Despite all the information online indicating that when my music albums are stored in the cloud, and not downloaded, there are no cloud symbols next to album list. However the cloud symbol does appear when I go to individual song, or track lists. I cannot 'swipe' the entire album logo in order to upload or download entire album.

They are off the phone. The cloud shows they are available. If you do not want to see this, then go into Settings>Music and turn off Show all music.

Songs on my phone but with cloud symbol in music app

Question:
I have iTunes Match and i have this problem since a few months.
I download songs of any playlist on my phone and then some songs are still having the download(cloud symbol) or after while it happens.
I know that iOS delete songs if the storage reaches it's limits but i tested it with more than 1 GB free space.
The songs are download completely - i checked the iTunes Store App but only a few are then available(i turned on airplane mode and the songs which aren't really downloaded are grey) in the Music App.
When the Download is happening the symbol seems to complete the download and then starts new or the cloud symbol is coming back - it's endless but after a while the songs are gone in the Itunes App Download Section(List is empty)
The weird thing is - if i check the storage settings where i can download particular songs or audiobooks etc. - the songs are THERE as available songs ready for deleting!
I also deleted the playlist and created a new one - no change some songs are there
I have this problem since i have itunes match, first the deleting from itself and now this - a while ago i wiped my iphone clean and installed everything new(no backup) and also i turned of itunes match on my Mac and my iphone.
No Change.

Cloud shows in itunes when downloading app again

Hello, i have an app that wont start. I deleted it off my phone, and tried to remove it in itunes also, but when i go to download the app again, it shows a cloud for the link to download, instead of the usual "install". So im assuming i keep downloading the one on the cloud and not a brand new fresh copy of the app, because after multiple deletes of the app, it still doesnt work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

iCloud doesn't back up your apps. That cloud symbol simply shows that it is available for re-download from the App Store. It's always a fresh copy of the app directly from the App Store when you install it that way. The only time you get an 'old' version of the app is when you're syncing from your iTunes library on your computer.

Download cloud symbol not responsive for movies or tv programmes on ios7

The download of movies or tv programmes on my iPad Mini Retina has thrown up a new issue, the cloud symbol with download arrow is not responsive. I can only download video from the cloud by going into the store and selecting purchases, from there all my movies and tv programmes are selectable on the cloud download symbol to start a download, as a work around this solves the problem but is not elegant.
I have hard reset the iPad, signed out and back in to the iTunes Store with no success, any ideas or is this a ios7 'feature'! All my software is up to date. I tried to download videos on my iPhone5 and it works perfectly, the iPad does not.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".
