How do I do this please?
Thanks in advance

Do you still have your old PC? Can you get the old itunes database file from it? It is named
iTunes Library.itl
If you don't have the old PC, you are going to have to import the files you copied over from the old PC.
itunes menu > File > add folder
Go to "ituens media" and add it

My first laptop broke and it is the motherboard so i bought a new one and i cant get the itunes store to put my purchased music into my music on itunes.

It is your responsibility to keep up with your purchases.
Do you not back up your info/music/pics?
    You should always do this.

  • New computer, Can't get iTunes shortcut key to appear

I switched computers and had them transfer the old hard drive to the new hard drive. Both computers were/are Windows XP. Before I turned in the old computer, I deleted the iTunes icon. When I did, it still said iTunes was still on there and could not be deleted, but I could no longer see the icon. Which is what I wanted to do, hide it. But now I don't know how to get the icon back on my new computer desktop so I can click to get into my library/music store. I tried plugging in the iPod 30G but it doesn't show up. The files are still on the computer. I need help walking through the process. I tried to re-install using the disc, but it wouldn't let me. Please advise what I should do. Thanks!

It doesn't show up in Programs. But it does in desktop -- I get the following in the box: itunes in a manila folder...iTunes music...XML doc...1033 mst...itunes library.itl...0x0409 configure settings...ipod for windows...
When I click on itunes music, there is a list of my songs in little files. I just tried plugging in the ipod while I had this box opened, but nothing happened.
On the old computer, I deleted the iTunes icon, but it said it could not delete the program. did I commit a fatal error? and if so, how can I use my ipod with the new computer? I tried to reload with the software, but it wouldn't let me.
Thanks for your help and patience!

  • New Computer - Can't Access My Old Music

The computer I was using when I first purchased my ipod died. I've recently purchased a new computer and it seems as if all my music died with my old computer. When I plug up to the new computer, it seems that I have to erase all my music and start over. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello there,
If you still have all of your music on your iPod, you could copy it over to your new library on your new computer. There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes.
There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your new computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync." Hope this helps.
Also, if you have any purchased music, make sure to authorize your new computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

  • New Computer can't get my library transferred

My old computer was struggling mightily so I had to upgrade. In doing so I went from XP to the dreaded Vista and nothing but Problems. My old computer can't make a disc to copy my library and I've tried to use a usb jumpdrive but when it brings the songs into Itunes they are there in name only and no music. I tried to use the pages Apple has but it's not working. Anyone able to help me out?

Gosh, Julie, I don't know where to begin, but I will try - see if I can get you started in some direction.
First, Click on Start/All programs. Do you see iTunes/ iTunes listed. if yes, click on the iTunes entry that has a Music note-like icon to its left. Does this start up iTunes program? Let me know which part of this worked and how far you are able to go here.
Second, Do you know how to start Windows Explorer? If not, Click on Start/ All programs/ Accessories/ Windows Explorer. When the Windows Explorer window opens, find an entry called My Documents. I am sure it has a '+' sign to its left, meaning it has other components within it. Click on the '+' sign to expand it. Find the entry "My Music." Click on the '+' sign to its left, and find the folder 'iTunes'. Click the '+' sign to its left and you will find several folders and sub-folders including iTunes Music. If you click on this folder (iTUnes Music), you should see all of your songs. And if you click on the iTunes folder, you will see several files, some with the extension of *.itl and *.xml, which are the Library files that has the Playlists information and all other information that iTunes uses to manage the tracks. Let me know if you see any of these.
Once you do these two steps, we can see where you go from there.
Now, if your iTunes program does not open, then tell us what happens when you try to open it -- write down the exact message you get and let us know that.
    Good luck.

  • Computer crashed, put hard drive in new computer, can't get all songs?

Here is the story. Had 700+ itunes songs on hard drive. That computer crashed. Bought a new computer and pulled out the hard drive from the crashed one and put it into the new computer. Got it working but itunes only recognizes 178 of the 700+ itunes songs. Cannot get the library to open in anything other than Internet Explorer. Can someone please provide some guidance on what I might be able to do to fix this issue? Thanks!

    What a nightmare!
How did you get the 178 songs into iTunes? Have you tried adding the missing ones?
What do you mean by this?

  • Got new computer, can't get my old purchased music

I bought a new mac recently, how do I get the music I purchased on my account from the last computer on my new itunes?

If you still have the old computer or a back-up of the purchases you simply need to copy the purchases over from the discs or drive they are currently on:
iTunes for Mac: How to copy purchases between authorized computers
iTunes for Windows: How to copy purchases between authorized computers
If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • New computer, can't get iTunes to load music

I've had a variety of problems, and transferred my music from my old computer to my new one (without using my iPod) - just moved the songs and folders. I cannot seem to make iTunes find and import the songs automatically - my only recourse is to "import" one at a time - which is painful for the hundreds of songs i have. Any ideas for me?

the trick was "add folder", and i just picked the highest level folder that had all the albums in it! thanks!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS IMMEDIATELY???

Your iPod Classic almost certainly is not USB, but FireWire
    USB
    FireWire
I know this because the USB (type A) socket has not changed since it came out and early iPods were FireWire, not USB>

You will need to use third-party software to transfer music from your phone to the iTunes Library. I recommend Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com.

Can't get my Music off of my iPhone 4...
My computer died & had to get a new one, so now I cannot sync my iPhone 4 with the new computer, without losing all of my Music, because the only Music I have is on the iPhone 4 only, not on the computer. No Backup anywhere : (
If I choose to sync it tells me all of the Content that does not match the iTunes library on the computer will be erased, do you want to proceed & I have to say no.
How do I replace the music library on my Computer with the Music on the iPhone?
I got my pictures off because you can access them when you connect the iPhone using Windows 7 but you cannot see any of the music so you cannot access it when using windows so don't know what to do...
    Help...

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.
