New computer, everything syncs except TV shows

Help! I've tried everything I can think of, but I have 5 episodes of a TV show that will not sync. They are HD, and all synced with the old computer. I had watched two prior to the new computer.
With new setup, nothing shows up under video for TV shows. My settings were sync all episodes. I tried marking all as new, but it didn't work. Then I changed settings to manually manage music, and tried dragging and dropping. I also created a playlist for the episodes, but none of this worked. I checked my main menu to be sure that "video" was on. I also checked to make sure the new computer was authorized, and it is.
As an aside - when I plug in the iPod, I am getting a Windows error that says "There is no disk in Drive E", but iTunes is recognizing that the iPod is connected. Podcasts are syncing, music is all there, playlists, etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

First off, make sure your TV show episodes play in iTunes. If iTunes can't play the file, it can't do anything else with it either.
Also, verify that your sync preferences are still set as desired. When you're on your iPod Summary page, click the tab for TV shows and make sure the option is set to sync TV shows.

  • Can I transfer a iTunes library file for iPad apps to a new computer for syncing?

I would like to sync my wife's iPad to our new iMac. can we just move the appropriate iPad app files to the new computer?

You can transfer the apps while connected to the Mac and iTunes running by going from the iTunes menu at the top of the screen File>Transfer Purchases. This will put all of the apps into the iTunes library on the new computer.
This article will show you have to transfer the music from one computer to another one.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
You can also backup your entire iTunes library and restore it to the new computer which is the ideal way to do this. It is covered in the article above.
There are third party apps that allow you to transfer all of your iPad content to a new computer and itunes library as well.

  • Firefox Sync - everything syncs except bookmarks

    FF 5 and now 6. OS X. I have approximately 1,100 bookmarks.
    Everything syncs except my bookmarks.
Toggled bookmarks on/off in FF sync prefs.
Reset sync 2 times for good measure.
Been working to clean up my bookmarks hoping to get the potentially malformed URI causing this (this seems to be the consensus from my searches as to why this is happening).
Enabled merge debug logging and see a repeating message there indicating a problem. Looked for solutions for this and found some discussion, but nothing has yet worked.

If I can avoid it, I'd rather not share my bookmarks for analysis. If a malformed URI is likely the culprit, is there a site/tool I can use to analyze them myself?
    Thanks - Mike

Well what do you know. An hour or so after posing this question here for help, I was continuing to poke around and found this FF extension which identified a single malformed URI and allowed my bookmarks to sync!
    Checkplaces by Andy Halford
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkplaces/
This tool will analyze your bookmarks (among lots of other things). It immediately told me which single bookmark was malformed. It let me delete it from it's report with ease. A subsequent FF sync run ran without a hitch.
Now off to donate to this fella. :)

  • IPhone 3GS everything syncs except PC calendar events

iPhone 3GS v6.1.2; iTunes v11.0.1.12; PC Windows 7 & Outlook 2010. Sometime during my trip (HI > NV > TX > HI) my iPhone and Outlook calendar stopped syncing.  Everything syncs except the calendar events; even the birthdays sync.  I only have one PC calendar and one iPhone calendar.  When I use the Advanced - Replace information on this iPhone - Calendar feature, the result is only Birthdays appear on my iPhone until I manually select the calendar under From My PC on the iPhone.  It is as though iTunes isn't recognizing the iPhone calendar.  Every test to add or delete an event from either the iPhone or PC calendar does not get sent to the other device.  The usual iTunes sync error allowing me to select which event is correct never appears.  Any and all ideas will be appreciated.  I've spent several days reading through the various "sync" issues posts to no avail.  I'm sure it is something I did incorrectly trying to resolve the issue but ...

This link helped me resolve my sync issue:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/nl-NL/outlook/thread/3cf216ed-3f0d-47 f3-8043-d2d0de4c824c

  • How do I transfer my entire music collection to a new computer and sync my iphone with new mac without deleting existing music in iphone?

    Hi All,
I will describe my current setup and the required setup below. Please help me with the steps to do this
    Current setup:
    OS: Windows 7
Total Music collection: 80GB of mp3 , which is NOT added to itunes library (I use foobar)
iTunes Music collection: around 500 songs, synced to my iphone (unchecked "manually manage" that meeans all these songs are in itunes library)
Now the required setup: (Since I am planning to get a macbook pro)
OS: Mac OS  (This means the music file path will be different)
Total Music collection: 80GB which is to be added to itunes library
iPhone Music: The same 500 songs as before.
Is this possible? In Mac OS I want my entire 80GB to be added to itunes library, also keeping my existing iphone songs intact.
    Any ideas?

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
Longer answers if for any reason you do not think all library files are inside your iTunes folder (changed preferences settings at some point):
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168
2011 ilounge article: Transferring your iTunes library - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/  - An article with good background information (similar to the links above), particularly if you are not sure your media files are all grouped for quick answer above. Unfortunately under the single term "transferring library" it describes two very different moves; relocating just your media (not  really transferring your library and not recommended unless you really need this configuration), and relocating media+database (really your whole "library").  Make sure you understand the difference before electing to move only media.

Consider moving everything from your Windows PC to your Mac in a single move, including your iTunes library: About Windows Migration Assistant - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4796 - Learn about how to use Windows Migration Assistant to migrate your files from a Windows PC to a Mac.
Transferring the library as above will connect your i-device to the same library on the new computer even though it is stored on different hardware. You should not see the "erase & sync" prompt, and syncing will preserve game scores and other data on the device.
As for the 80GB of music in foobar, add that to the iTunes library at some stage by dragging those files to the Automatically Add To  iTunes folder.

  • TS1368 Attempting to set up new computer to Sync with my Iphone5. Downloaded I tunes but do not find way to authorize this computer or sync

need help getting new computer accepted as ok to use with i tunes & to sync with I phone 5

You should be able to authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes- if you are using iTunes on a PC then try pressing Alt-S and the Store menu should appear (or control-B and the menus should show, they are hidden by default on iTunes 11 on PCs) e.g.

  • New Computer - Problems syncing

I have a new computer and when i plug my Ipod in -  screen pops up asking if i want to delete contents and sync with items on library....  Wel NO i dont want to do that because nothing is on my library and i dont want to loose what i already have on my ipod. (calndr, music, apps)
HELP Please!  And i did authorize this computer.

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
The ipod will sync to one computer at a time.  if you sync to another it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

  • New computer; previously synced iPhone must now be erased?

I just replace my old Mac Mini with a new one. I don NOT want to migrate my old Mac Mini stuff, so I didn't. My music is all on an external drive. So I pointed iTunes to it and re-built my library on the new Mini.
Now when I plug in my iPhone 3Gs I get an alert saying it is synced to another computer, and I must erase the iPhone to re-sync it when I say "manually manage songs".
Let me get this straight: I'm going to lose all my phone numbers, applications and photos just because I bought a new computer? Or does it simply take off the music?
There has to be a way to do this without all the hassle. Please please tell me this is the case. Why am I being punished for buying a new computer?

"Now when I plug in my iPhone 3Gs I get an alert saying it is synced to another computer, and I must erase the iPhone to re-sync it when I say "manually manage songs"."
Correct. Iphone will sync/manually manage with ONE computer at a time.
Pics, like music are synced one way with one computer at a time. Your pics should be backed up and copied to your new computer just as you did with your music.
As long as you have at least one unique contact and calendar entry in your new computer you should get the option to merge the data.
"There has to be a way to do this without all the hassle."
Yes migrate everything from your old computer.
"Why am I being punished for buying a new computer?"
Why are you being so dramatic? No one is punishing you. Relax. You made the decision not to migrate your data, which is the hassle free way to do this.

  • Transfer info to new computer for syncing

I just got a new MBP coming from an older mb. How do i sync my iphone to the new computer without loosing the information already on it?
    Thanks

You need to move everything from the old computer to the new one, then sync.
You can use migration assistant to do this or target mode or your backup.

  • New computer/cannot sync music

i got a new computer, so all my music was deleted. i spent forever re-adding everything. and now when i try to sync it, a message comes up saying.. "ipod cannot be synced. the required disk cannot be found."
its driving me crazy. someone please help!
also, i cannot update or restore it.

    Welcome to the forums, Lisaaa
Well, you can always try the good ol' restart. Hold down the center an menu buttons on the iPod until the screen goes black and you see the apple logo. This won't change anything on the iPod, but it can clear up temporary bugs. Also, make sure that your computer is authorized to play your music.
The "required disk cannnot be found" part could mean that some of the music is stored on a different hard drive. make sure that all the hard drives that contain parts of your library are connected.

  • I have transferred my music to new computer but music is not showing in iTunes - although is on the computer as if I select a song from the folder it will play that song via iTunes. How can I get my music to show?

I have transferred my music to a new computer following the instructions carefully but for whatever reason the music does not show on iTunes on the new computer. The music is there as I can access it via My Computer and if I select a song it will show in iTunes and play - however I can not do this for every single track! Can anyone suggest something I have done wrong????

Media was moved via external hard disk, and I think I moved the iTunes Media folder after consolidating it.

  • HT1727 i bought a text tone on my iphone and i recently got a new computer and synced my phone to the new pc how would i transfer the text tone to the new computer?

would it work on my computer if i just copied the text tone onto a flash drive and added it to itunes?

    iDevices are not backup devices.
Move or copy the content from the old computer to the new computer.
Attempts to sync the content from the iDevice to the new library will wipe the content from the device.
