New computer, have to rebuy photoshop?
Hello, I've had Photoshop CS2 for awhile now, and finally decided to upgrade to a new computer. I'm just wondering if I have to rebuy it, or if I can use my key that I got with the box to confirm it on that computer. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Along with the previous suggestions and comments, if your CS2 is an upgrade, make sure to have the installation disc from the earlier version handy, as it might be needed, when you install CS2 on the new box. It's always easier to gather that sort of stuff up, before you get into an installation routine.
Good luck,
Hunt

help. am not a tech savvy person.
i do art with a win vista computer filledwith photoshop cs3 and tons uf unbelievable plugins that were given to me by a now deceased ps wizard.
that computer died. i now have a new computer, but it is of no value to me without the same art setup that i backed up into an ext hard drive.
i have wetechies @ 300 usd/year trying to remotely do that. day 2, so far no success.
i cannot afford to buy all that. i have cancer also, and with 6 months to live, friends have generously bout me a great computer for my art needs.
but i need more than a computer. and i need more than photoshop. i need the programs n things in my plugins .
does anyone know how to do that?
my wetechies from india are on day two, and ony have given me a 1.16 kb pd icon! then asked me if that was fine.
i said to them it is fine if it works! which it did not.
tody is day 2, person 2 attempting this.
is this an impossible feat?
they are not familiar with plugins, but they do comp tech stuff.
my cs3 extended and the plastic case bearing the serial #, bought for 900 usd, were stolen the night i was in the hospital having my mastectomy.
i had the ps3 inside the plastic case in my living room drawer. when i came home, there was a psc ( not extended ) in one of the 2 computer drawers.
i am not sure why. but in the second drawer was my chest xray from the hospital???? i suppose ,since i never looked at it myself, it may have had my personal info needed for the thief to pose as me. also, my purse, with passport, all forms of id and my keys, were stolen on another day . but i have bad credit, so good luck to them.
i want to spend my remaining time doing art. I even entered an art competition for charity. sponsored by Lilly oncology.
i know of no one who did art in my building at the time which was in florida, where i was having my chemo and radiion, and first surgery.
that computer, was broken, by someone trying to fix it. perhaps the only person i know who wopuld have an interest in the plugins as he was a photog and was familiar with the photog and ps wizard who supplied me my art stuff.
wheredo i go from here, inexpensively, i was gifted the computer of my choice. it is awesome for art. but i wanta photoshop in it, which i do not use for much, but i do use the plugins.
question- is it true that my new 64 bit computer with win7 is compatible with cs3 and higher? as well as plugins tha are 32bit not 64 bit?@Whether your music purchases will be in the cloud will depend upon what country that you are in, and whether it is still in the store (record companies occasionally remove their music) - you can't add music to the cloud without subscribing to iTunes Match.

Need a new computer - have PS cc
I have PS CC and am thinking of a new computer. I am not technical and have looked at the system requirements and am trying to match up with some affordable options. I want a desktop
Here are 2 options but I am confused as they state Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon - Pentium 4 seem to be getting phased out by intel icore 3, 5 etc. Would PS CC work on the following machines? - Including the 3D bit - I don't know how to decide if they have Open GL 2.0 capable systems
Any help would be appreciated

NOAt the moment I have an Acer Aspire - it's 3 years old and I am running Windows 7 it's a 64 bit machine. I use photoshop with many layers to produce - I also use Paint Shop Pro I don't use it for photography but mainly for many layered taggins, email, animations etc. Uploading my siggie tags to Photobucket and Fotki also the usual general stuff MS office, Word, Excel, One Note. My husband has an old Acer which is so slow - it has less than 1gb RAM and it's still running on Vista My thoughts were if we are going to replace his I may as well get one that will fulfill my needs too should my machine go down. I am a mod in a couple of taggers forums and have to be able to produce things Forgot to say I use all photoshop 2014 CC including 3D. My budget is about £350 tops - I am in UK
My present machine spec is this
Acer Aspire X5400 AMD Athlon II X4 3 GHZ Processor RAM 4 GB 64 bit o/s with NVidia Geforce
Video Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Renderer: GeForce 315/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL Version: 3.3.0
GLU Version: 1.2.2.0 Microsoft Corporation
This is what I have just made in PS to give you an example - Hope this information helps

New Computer Specs for CS5 Photoshop
I am in the market for a new computer. The main use for it will be my amateur photography work using Photoshop.
Current Idea is:
• Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-750 quad-core processor [2.66GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
• 12GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [4 DIMMs]
• 300GB 10K rpm & 640GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s - two hard drives
• 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4350 [DVI, HDMI, VGA adapter]
Message was edited by: DNB224
I am wondering whether I would be better off with two 7200 RPM drives configures as raid 0.
Also is there any reason to upgrade the graphics card. The one specified is listed on the adobe website as being certified for use with PS CS5.
Thanks for the help.I had a bad experience with nVidia. When I moved from XP to Vista I had a VERY expensive nVidia Quadro FX card, and I found out the hard way that they don't support older cards well at all, no matter how much you've paid. I futzed with it for months, then bought into "the other guys", at which point I got fast, rock solid reliable Windows operation - as it turns out, for a year and a half, then another 5 months on Windows 7 with no trouble. Lore has it ATI has better hardware too. All I can say is it works for me, and works well.
As far as I've been able to see Photoshop works equally well with ATI as nVidia. They use OpenGL which has been around on both platforms for a long while. Even if Photoshop CS6 uses OpenCL ATI is right there on the forefront with nVidia. I really like what AMD did when they bought ATI.
C: is RAID 0, on which I keep Windows and my data. I have a 3rd non-Raid 1 TB drive as D:, left over from a prior system, on which I put the Photoshop temp file. It's not screaming fast, but then CS5 doesn't seem to use the disk much. I just don't see the system waiting for the disk. Even opening huge files (I work with 1 GB .psd files in my astronomical image processing sometimes) is not slow.
Trust me, the first time you fight through a hard drive failure and spend days getting the system back in order (assuming you do backups) you'll wish you'd gone for reliability. A terabyte is a HUGE amount of data. Just doing backups and restorals to/from an external disk takes hours upon hours!

Getting a new computer - Can I redownload Photoshop Elements 7.0, registered?
Hello!
I'm getting a new computer. My old one has Photoshop Elements 7 on it, and I've managed to register it to my Adobe account, so I've got the serial code.
I hear that you can re-download Adobe software if you have the serial code. The general idea that I've gathered is that you have to download the trial, enter your serial code, and then you can have the full version of Photoshop Elements 7.0.
Will I have to uninstall Photoshop Elements 7.0 from my current (old) computer in order to download it onto my new one?
Are there any terms or variables I should know about?
Thank you in advance! To deactivate an installation you normally just need to open it and choose Help -> Deactivate. If that is not how it works for PSE7 then I guess there is some other mechanism.
The other option is to ask Adobe Support to reset your activations by contacting them thru cha.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

I got new computer, but lost my photoshop cs5 disk.
Can I download the program to my new computer if I still have my serial number?
The instructions include:
"For Windows, each program consists of up to two files, an .exe and a 7-Zip file (.7z). The .exe file will only work when the .7z file is also fully downloaded and resides in the same location."
As kglad says, follow the above carefully then double click the .exe file. The installer will do the rest. -

i I just bought a new computer. The techs that set everything up and transferred data from my old computer said that my playlists would appear when I downloaded itunes. that is not the case. Is there a way to transfer my music from my iphone to itunes?
If the ENTIRE iTunes folder was moved or copied from the old computer to the new computer, then everything is there.
Simply open iTunes by holding SHIFT while double clicking on the iTunes icon and then point iTunes to the iTunesLibrary.itl file. -
