New computer, how do i get the itunes off the old one

I want to put all my iTunes from my old computer on my new one, any way i can do that?

There are a number of things you could do. One would be to network the two computers and transfer your iTunes folder from one to another. Here are a few links that may help you out:
New PC & moving iTunes library
Copying songs over a network to use with iTunes for Windows
iTunes: Copying music between authorised computers with iTunes for Windows
Another way would be to use an external hard drive, the guide for using the iPod as a hard drive is a good starting point. Just ignore the sections on enabling the iPod as a hard drive. If you substitute "external hard drive" for "iPod" the process is the same: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer

    OK...
    See Here for one way
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    Or...
From your Old Computer... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
An Added Bonus is that you will then have a Backup of iTunes...

  • New computer, how do I get my files off my old ipod to the new computer?

So, my old computer is completely fried. It's dead. We got a new one and I would really love it if someone could tell me how I would be able to keep the songs off my ipod when I hook it up to the new computer.

You cannot do it with iTunes, except for music purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are numerous third-party utilities that provide this function. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer music," you will see some links.
Once you get the files off the iPod and on your new computer, you just need to get them into your iTunes library and then sync your iPod to that library.

  • I got a new computer, how do I get the photos off my ipod on to my computer?

I got a new computer, how do I get the photos off my ipod on to my computer?

For photos synced from your computer ( photo library pics) you don't.  The photo sync is one way - computer to ipod.
You need to move the pics from your old computer or your backup copy of the old computer.  You could e-mail them to yourself.  They will not be of the original resolution.
For pics taken with ipod ( Camera Roll Pics), then you import them as you would from any digital camera.

  • How do I transfer my itunes library to a new computer from my iPhone. The old one no longer works.

How do I transfer my itunes library to a new computer from my iPhone. The old computer no longer works.

    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • I have 2 ITunes accounts and I am doing a restore to a new computer - how do I get the music in the right libraries - I'm going to XP to Windows 7

I am replacinbg a Windows XP machine with Windows 7.  I have all music backed up, but I'm not sure how to restore it to the new machine.  There is both my account and my husbands.  And we are not using the cloud - the music was physically on the old machine.  How do I do this?

It's a bit difficult for me to give advice on your specific issues, doing it "remotely."
If you still have your Mozy backup or your old computer, with its iTunes folder "as is" (the way you want it copied to the new computer), you may want to start over on the new computer.
The External drive method from the previously linked article provides the basic steps, except that you don't need to use an external drive as part of the process.  You can use something else as the "transfer vehicle" in place of an external drive.  For example, if you are able to setup File Sharing between the two computer, the network connection is the transfer vehicle.  If you use your Mozy backup, your online storage is your transfer vehicle.
So these are the restated steps, for your situation as I understand it.
Part 1: Locating and consolidating the iTunes Media folder - If all of your iTunes files (songs, podcasts, videos, etc.) were already in your iTunes Media folder (on the old computer), which is the default setting for iTunes, you don't need to do this step.
Part 2: Copy iTunes folder from the old computer - If your Mozy backup has a copy of the iTunes folder from the old computer, you have already done this step.
Part 3: Get iTunes ready on your new computer - If iTunes is already install on your new computer, you have already done this step.
Part 4: Back up any music that's already on your new computer - If you do not have any new songs or other media to the new computer's iTunes library that were not already on your old computer, you do not need to do this step.
Part 5: Copy music to your new computer - So, this is really your only critical part. iTunes should NOT be running.
    1. Locate the folder \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\ on your new computer.
    2. Drag that iTunes folder to the Desktop.  This just gets the existing "empty" iTunes folder out of the way.
3 & 4. In your Mozy backup folder, locate the equivalent iTunes folder from the old computer.  NOTE:  You want to locate the entire iTunes folder, not the iTunes Media folder inside the iTunes folder.
    5. Drag the iTunes folder from the Mozy backup folder to your My Music folder, to take the place of the iTunes folder that was located there before (that you dragged to the Desktop).
    6. Run iTunes.  It should use the iTunes folder you just copied to your My Music folder, and everything from your older computer should be there and accessible.
Part 6: Add preexisting music that was on the new computer back into the library - Same as Part 4.  If there were no new songs (or other iTunes media) on the new computer, you do not need to do this step.  You can also delete the iTunes folder you dragged to the Desktop in Part 5, Step 2.
As you can see, most of the work is in Part 5.  And to summarize the procedure in ONE sentence, you are basically replacing the "iTunes" folder on the new computer with the same folder from the old computer.

  • Due to a divorce all my music is on my iTunes and iPod. I had to buy a new computer and want to transfer my Library to the new computer. How can I do this without using an external drive and use new computer just like I do the old one? Thanks.

Due to divorce, all my music is on my iTunes and iPod. I have had to buy  a new laptop and want to transfer the library to the new computer before deauthorizing the old one. I dont want to have to use an external drive every time I want to listen to my music. How can I do this and have the same basic iTunes setup as before? HELP!

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year.  It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you.  Items that it does not find in the catalog it'll upload and store these in the cloud for you and you can download them on your devices.  See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/

  • New firefox doesn't work, how do I get the old one back?

From the email newsletter, I downloaded the new firefox. I said yes when asked if I wanted to replace the one that was there. I then found out that my computer's operating system will not work with the new firefox, and my old one is gone. How do I get the previous version back?

-> Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
    * Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/7.0.1/system-requirements/
-> Firefox 3.6.23 (Mac OS X 10.4 and later) can be found here:
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
-> For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:
    * http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

Check and tell if its working.

Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
