New computer. old computer

i just got a new laptop and just finished importing my music from the itunes on my other computer. Is it safe to delete the music and sign out of itunes on my older computer?

Yes, if everything is on the new computer.

You will want to go to https://creative.adobe.com/ and choose the software you wish to download.  You can find more details at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4396277#4396277?tstart=0.

Need to transfer Acrobat Pro to new computer, old computer crashed so I can't disable/uninstall.  What do I do?

Install it on the new machine, if you have run out of Activations then you will probably need to contact Adobe and explain what happened as far as the old computer crash and burning.

  • My 40gb can be played but Itunes says it is corrupt.  I want to get the music off the Ipod onto my new computer, old computer died which had all the data on it (crap on my behalf I know)  Anyone know how to do this?

My hard drive is corrupt even though I can listen to the music on the Ipod.  Itunes says it is corrupt so obviously cannot read it properly.  You can hear the disk reader resetting every few seconds preventing the data recovery.
We can see the track listings and playlists which we used for our wedding in 2005 and desperately want them back.
Sadly we lost the hard drive that had Itunes on it with all our music which we dont have a back up of.
Is there anyway it can be repaired and then we get the music off the Ipod and get it back on a new pc....and back it up of course?!!!

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • My new and old computer won't reconize my ipod

I got instructions off apple.com on how to move my itunes library from my old computer to my new one. I followed every step. I have mini4G and didn't have enough space needed to transfer my music and music files so I did what the instructions told me to. I hadjust got done downloading the files to my Ipod and was going to start the procese on my new computer which I had already installed itunes 7.0 and hooked my ipod up to my computer followed the next couple off steps( at this time it reconized my Ipod) then did the reset step and wam! No more Ipod! My old or new computer can't reconize my Ipod anymore! How could this be? How do I get my Ipod back . now all it will do now is charge... Could someone please help me? I've only had it for a year. If I'd know this would happen I would just put all my cd's and puchased songs on manually. It would have took a long time but at least this wouldn't have happend.

  • Installing software from new to old computer

If I buy a new mac with Tiger, can I use the CDs provided to instal it on my old computer (that has panther on it) or do I need to buy it separately?
    Power Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The Tiger install package that ships with a new Mac purchase is model and build specific and cannot be used to install Tiger on another Mac. Even if attempted on the same Mac model, the model build must be identical to the model/build the install package was shipped with and intended for. Even if possible and as previously provided, it would be a violation of the single user license agreement and against the law to install and use a copy of the OS and included software on more than one Mac at a time.
If you want to install Tiger on your old Mac, you need to purchase a Tiger retail install package which can be used to install Tiger on a single Mac model that meets the minimum system requirements.

  • New iPod/Old Computer

I'm a newbie to all of this...I have a new iPod 80G Video that I can not sync on my old computer. I had a 4g mini that I used and recently upgraded. When I first plugged in the new 80G to my computer iTunes goes through the process of initializing and showing the new iPod under "devices," and it looks like it has all of the music synced but it does not. There is nothing on the new iPod. Is there some process I need to go through to get this to work?

This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.

Old computer crashed. Hard drive destroyed and no backup (I know, I know). Question. Is there any way to get data from Iphone (music, contacts, etc.) onto the new computer?
    Thanks.

Contacts will sync to your new PC just make sure you create at least a contact in your new Address Book so that the info can merge between PC and iPhone

  • New computer, old computer crashed, I cannot see my music folder on my ipod

My old computer crashed, so I could not deauthorize it with itunes. I read instructions about moving my music folder off my ipod to my C drive on the new computer's music folder, but I cannot see any music folder when I go to "My Computer" and look at my ipod. Any thoughts?

    1. Open My Computer
    2. Click Tools
    3. Click Folder Options...
    4. Click the View tab
    5. Under Hidden Files and Folders, select Show Hidden Files and Folders
    6. Click OK
I'm pretty sure that these directions are useless because all of the music on your iPod is protected. In order to copy it to your computer, you will need software that does it for you. You cannot just drag it all in.
I see that you are using Windows Vista... I'm not sure whether that will change whether you can copy your music or if it will change my directions on how to show the music folder.

  • Getting my library on my new computer, old computer fried and now is a brok

My old computer broke the other day and i just got a new computer and i was wondering if there is anyway to get all my bought music onto my new computer. all my music is stored on my nano but i do not have access to my old computers hard drive

There is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
If you haven't already done so, change the update setting for your iPod to manual. If you are using the iPod in manual update mode, your iPod is safe from being accidentally erased when you connect to an empty iTunes after reinstalling your operating system. However if your iPod is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual.
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are quite cheap these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.

  • New Computer - Old Computer will not turn on!

    Hello...
I need someone to help me if they can. I got a new computer two weeks ago because my old computer broke, broke into pieces. I cannot even turn it on, and did not think to back up my music and videos that I paid for on disc's or what not. Is there anyway I can get all those back without having to pay for them again? If so, can someone guide me thru it? Any help will glady be appreciated! Thanks for your time =)

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
If you haven't made a backup, and don't have your tracks on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks. You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis, but don't count on it.
    Good luck.
Your music and videos are valuable! Back them up!

  • New computer/old computer. How to transfer the music between the two.

I purchased a new computer recently and I have managed to put my old itunes music from my old computer onto a portable hard drive. how do I transfer that music onto my new computer?

Drag the folder containing it to the new computer's hard drive, and from there into the open iTunes window, or if it contains a complete iTunes library, launch iTunes with the Shift key held down, click on Choose Library, and point it there.
