New computer- want to install my final cut there, lost disc

Hey there,
I got a new mac (the powerbook I originally bought for use with Final Cut Studio was just not fast enough for me to do anything I wanted to do) and I own Final Cut Studio.
I want to install it on the new computer. I don't care if it works on the old one anymore.
1) Can I install on the new computer?
2) I can't find the disc. But I registered it. Can I install on my computer anyways?
Sorry if it's somewhere on the site already but I couldn't find it.
Thank you!!!

Can I install on my computer anyways?
How are you going to "install it anyways" if you don't have the disc?
I'd recommend calling Apple. If you can provide proof of purchase, they have been known to send replacement install discs.

I have a new computer , want to install CS5 and deactivate from old. Problem is my CS5 is an upgrade and needs a older version of Elements which I no longer have. Any suggestions?

you don't need the previous version that was upgraded.  you just need the serial number of the previous version.
but, if you want the previous version:

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

  • Bought new computer, want to install Cisco Connect.

The comp that had Connect installed is gone. The router currently works perfect. But I want to change settings.
So I went to install the CD on the new comp but it does not "see" the router.
Do i need to disconnect the router and start all over?

What dop you want the new PC to do? connect to the internet?
if so, do the powercycle thing. turn the power of the modem, router and shut down the new PC...
make sure all cables are properly connected.
turn on modem, router then restart PC.
    check all the lights.
    check the internet
    update me how it goes.

You can have them both on the same computer as I and many others have done for years.
Just go ahead and install FCS 3 normally.
There will be absolutely no problems.

After install, did you go to  Apple menu > Software Update to update your FCE to the latest version?

Old computer died and I am trying to install Illustrator CS5 on new computer.
Last version I had before CS5 was/is Illustrator 10,which has been installed on new computer.
CS5 install says I need CS2,3 or 4 before installing 5, but old computer went directly from 10 to CS5.
How can I repeat this 10 to CS5 install?

It does not seem likely that CS6 was upgraded from version 10.  You might want to check your purchase history in your Adobe account to see if there is some missing link in the chain of purchases you made.
You can always try contacting Adobe support thru chat to see if they can find information or otherwise assist you in this matter.

  • Final Cut Studio Pro 2 Install - Skip Final Cut Pro itself - TT_NEWALREADYI

    Dear All,
I hope you can help. I have just bought a new Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM, with OS X 10.4.10 running. It came with iLife 08.
I installed Logic Studio 8 (which was successful), and have been trying to install my copy of Final Cut Studio 2. When I run the installation, the options appear for custom install, but FInal Cut Pro, Compressor and QMaster are greyed out, and the action identified for them is "skip. If I rest the mouse over any of the options the text TT_NEWERALREADYINSTALLED appears.
I have tried uninstalling the Logic Studio components with AppZapper, and retrying the install of Final Cut Studio, but no matter what I try to do, it won't install Final Cut Pro.
    Can anybody help?
    Kind Regards,
    Nick.

  • My new computer wants to wipe out all the apps on my sons iphone and he has games on it that he has worked hard to get to high levels. If I allow my new computer to be the primary computer will I lose all his games or is there a way to sync without losing

My new computer wants to wipe out my sons apps on his iphone and he will lose all of his "progress" in the games he had loaded on already. Is there a way to save th info from all the apps and still designate the new computer as his new primary one?

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
Backup iTunes to an External Drive

An Added Bonus is that you will have a Backup of iTunes.

  • Had to buy a new computer, went to install my old photoshop cs and it won't let me activate it!  don't this people have phone numbers????

help please.... I HAD TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER, OLD ONCE CRASHED.  OF COURSE I LOST EVERYTHING.  I'M NOW TRYING TO INSTALL FROM MY OLD DISC PHOTOSHOP CS ... IT WILL NOT LET ME ACTIVATE!!!!  I CAN'T FIND A PHONE NUMBER WHERE I CAN TALK TO ANYONE!!!  WHAT DO I DO??????  I'M JUST THANKFUL I SAVED ALL MY PICS ON A DISC BUT I REALLY NEED MY PHOTOSHOP, IT'S OLD, BUT STILL WORKS!  CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

Adobe shut down the activation server for CS2 and earlier a couple of years ago. In its place, they made available a new non-activation version of CS2. As an existing CS owner, you're entitled to download it.
Download and install the non-activation CS2 from Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Use the new non-activation serial number on that page. Your existing serial number will no longer work.
PS I presume you're using Windows. The CS2 version will not install or run on modern Intel-based Macs.

Use MPEG Streamclip to convert it. Depending on the type of file you might need to purchase the MPEG-2 playback component.

  • New computer,  want keep ipod music from old computer to new?

new computer,  want keep ipod music from old computer to new?

    Hi mtscott41,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have music on an iPod from your old computer. You now have a new computer but do not want to have the music from the iPod erased when you sync to the new computer. If the music on your iPod was purchased from iTunes you can either transfer those purchases from the iPod to your new computer’s iTunes Library or you can download the previously purchased content directly to your iTunes Library from iTunes. Please use the following article as reference for transferring purchases.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
The following article will show you how to download all of your previous purchases directly to iTunes if you would like to proceed this way.
    Download past purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If the music on your iPod was not purchased from iTunes and you still have the old computer, you may want to use a process called Home Sharing to transfer that content to your new computer. The following article explains Home Sharing.
iTunes: Setting up Home Sharing on your computer

    I hope this helps,

  • ITunes on my new computer wants to erase my iPhone music

iTunes on my new computer wants to erase my iPhone music when syncing and put that library on it. I have albums on my iPhone that aren't on my computer and I don't want them erased. Am I screwed?

Yes, I know. The problem is that my old computer died before I could back up a few albums that the original hard copies were stolen.
Like you said I can only use one. If I use the new one it says it will erase those albums from my phone that are not on my new computer's iTunes. Some of these albums are out of print now. I even have a few songs on an iTunes purchase that didn't go to my new iTunes via the cloud ( but are on my iPhone). I checked for available downloads and it says nothing is there.
