New contacts disappear in IPhone 5

I'm adding new contacts to my iPhone 5 and after 2 min they disappear. Somebody has experience this situation?

I have been having the same problem. I had a list of money owed to me by my cousin and after he would pay some off I would put it in my notes. I had that list for months. All if a sudden it was gone one day, out of many other notes I had around it too. Before and after. I accused him of deleting it. But today I made a check list of things I needed to do, and throughout the day I was simply deleting things off the list, I don't normally do that I usually just leave a dash or check mark. But I deleted a few, still had a bunch of things on my list. Open the phone later to check and the note is gone, so are a bunch of notes. All the way back to the previous month. As if I had not taken any notes this month. Luckily my iPad is synced up with my iPhone 5 on the cloud and I have my other notes there for this month. However the list with my cousins expenditures were gone on the iPad as well as my phone. What a glitched out app. Don't know what to do about that, may start using google docs or something.

During sync, new contacts on my iphone are deleted. I'll typically add any new contacts I get directly to my iphone, simply because I don't have my mac on me at all times. However, unless I specifically add the contact to my mac address book, it will be deleted from my iphone contacts upon sync. The option in iTunes to replace contacts on my iphone is not selected. Is there a way to merge info on sync instead of replace?

Thank you for your reply. I realy have nothing else to sync - no music. Emails do work so its just my contacts I am concerned about. I'm kinda new at this but have a working understanding of the system.
I have an icloud account but the Geek Squad went there and tried but could not export contacts.  I truly am not that good re icloud. They worked exclusively with my itunes, re-downloading, etc - all of the stuff in their book.
I have not tried a complete restore because I am not sure I am that good with the equipment but could.  I did all of the stuff on the help page - sync reset, forced one-way sync etc but the phone just does not seem to recognize the sync. I have not gone to an Apple store to have them have a look - that may be my next step to hook up to another itunes computer. It seems simple to me - it was working fine until maybe 3 months ago - probably when there was an update. Its telling to me that the phone does not tell me there is a sync in process while itunes is saying there is - its just not biting between the 2.
I appreciate any hep - and I said, I not stupidi about these things but have kind of reached as far as I am comfortable with fear of doing something really wrong.

when i add new contact to my iphone , and search for it i did't find it but it store in my phone and apperars when called me or i write the no

In the Contacts app, select "Groups" in the upper left hand corner.
Then select all the groups that are desired to be displayed.
    Select Done.
Now search for the contact(s) in question.  Do they appear now?

  • When I create a new contact on my iPhone 5, despite having all my devices connected to iCloud, the contact does not appear anywhere else. Please can you let me know how to solve this?

''Firefox 4.0 has a new feature that automatically saves your tabs when you close Firefox.''
Its seems that for many people, this feature was not enabled automatically, instead it is set on a different setting of 'show my homepage' or 'show a blank page'. But it is very easy to change, I just did it myself! Here is how to do it:
At the top left of the screen is an orange 'Firefox' box, click on it. On the right of the dropdown menu you will see 'Options'. Click on it. Then you will see another 'Options', click on it. This will bring up the Options menu.
The part we are interested in for this fix is where it says, 'When FireFox starts:'. There is a dropdown selection next to that sentance, click on the little down-arrow, and choose ' Show my windows and tabs from last time'. Then click on 'OK' at the bottom of the Options menu, this will close the menu.
You should be sorted now, I was. I hope it works for you too. To test it out, have a few tabs open, and close firefox. Then try open it. Those same tabs should re-appear. Holding thumbs & fingers crossed :)

  • Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts on my iPhone 5 is "Radio".  Previously the default was "Mobile" how can this be changed back to "Mobile"?

Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts in my iPhone 5 is "Radio". Previously the default was "Mobile". It is a hassle as when my iPhone contacts are synched with Outlook via Exchange, the phone number I've entered on the iPhone doesn't show on the default Outlook view as it is a "Radio" number rather than a "Mobile", "Work", "Home", etc number. It is still stored both on the iPhone & in Outlook & I can still use the number to phone or SMS, it is just incorrectly labelled & hence the source of frustration.
Apple please return the default to "Mobile" or alternatively find a way we can alter the default ourselves to "Mobile" or "Home" etc.

My iPhone does not always send iMessages to other iPhones who have their iMessages on. Most times I text a new contact with an iPhone first, they show up as regular text messages. How can I fix this?

Yes to receive an iMessage the recipient would need an iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad) and an internet connection. This is a messaging serviceprovided by Apple so the recipient does not need to check emails. If the contact does not have internet access at the time the iMessage is sent then a normal SMS through your carrier can be sent instead if you have "Send as SMS" turned on in Settings>Messages.

  • All Contacts disappear from iPhone -- temporarily

I have a recurring problem with my iPhone which occurred under 3.0 and now under 3.1, and even after a "restore as new phone" and replacement of the SIM card: occasionally, I'll go into the iPhone Contacts app and it will be empty -- no contacts at all, even if they were there minutes earlier. They eventually reappear after a reboot (without my doing any kind of "restore" -- I sync my contacts wirelessly over MobileMe). Yesterday, for example, I opened up my Contacts app to make a call; the contacts were all there, and I tapped on a particular contact to call him, and instead of his contact details being displayed, all my contacts disappeared. i rebooted and they reappeared.
I have asked about this at the Genius Bar and the Genius said it was happening because I was in an area with no cell signal, and that since I sync wirelessly with MobileMe, my contacts will disappear when I have no cell signal. However, that doesn't make sense, since my contacts do not disappear when I put the iPhone into Airplane Mode (in which case by definition there is no signal) or when the phone actually displays "No Signal" at the top of the screen. And when it happened yesterday, I had 5 bars in the signal display.
    So I have several questions:
    (a) has anyone else experienced this?
    (b) does anyone have any ideas on solving it?
    (c) does anyone think the Genius Bar explanation makes sense?

I am facing the same problem. my Contacts names disappear . Phone number is what just remains.
However I do not think it is a Genius Problem. OR it is not even a problem of no cell phone coverage.
Problems like these are usually OS Problems. So I think 3.1 is with full of bugs.
    2) I dont know how to solve it. looking for soultion

  • Contacts disappeared on iphone

how to recover contacts on iphone?

This happened to me this morning...I have spent hours reading and literally doing everything that people suggest as well as webpages on google.  Nothing at all has worked.  I have even tried to just create new contact and after 2 seconds the name disappears and ony shows the number again.  The weird part is it is only the numbers I have added for the last year.  My iCloud synced last night and when I got online to check my iCloud contacts a few minutes ago, they had disappeared in there as well.  I have spent too much time on this so I'm going into a store tomorrow. I am open to more suggestions and hope you have better luck!

  • HELP: contacts disappeared from iphone 4/address book on computer

my old iphone 4 had a problem so I got a new one.. the old one was backed up just about a week ago. I tried to sync my new phone today and everything synced except my contacts - not only that but my contacts have disappeared from my address book/itunes.
How could everything else have backed up just fine but not my contacts... are they recoverable?

Argh!  Why doesn't Apple warn you about known iOS-to-OS conflicts before you install a new one?  I too am now (unhappily) running iOS 6 on my iPhone 3GS, and still Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro.  If I upgrade my MacBook OS to Lion or Mt Lion, I will have some software that won't run anymore, & will have to buy upgrades -- the reason I've held off. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet.
The info about the iPhone Mail-etc sync setting is also useful.  I do have iCloud for the phone though not for the Mac.
    Here's the problem now:
In trying to solve my issue of new contact info not syncing in either direction, I went into iTunes on the Mac, the Info tab, and checked the sync box for Address Book, even though there was a warning my contacts might be duplicated because of iCloud backups.  This was a phone/Mac sync, not phone/iCloud.  (I alternate them so I'm covered.)  I have 4200+ contacts.  Guess what?  Most of 'em duplicated on the iPhone. The 2 questions now are:
    - is there a more efficient way to remove the duplicates from the iPhone than doing select-edit-scroll down-delete for every one?
    - do I dare do any backing up to iCloud with these duplicates on the phone, or will I end up with quadruplicates?
Thanks very much!  BTW, how do you enter a "This helped me" or "solved my problem" score?  I'm only seeing how to Like a reply.

  • Can't see new contacts added to iphone during sync

During my iphone sync i used to see a window that would pop up indicating any changes in the address book and any new contacts to add during the sync
then i would hit Sync Contatcs and it would add the new information to the address book and iphone and finish the sync.
Has anyone else been missing this feature , Is it due to the lastest IOS software update ? . is there somehting i am overlooking in preferences .

Butting multible batches on a CD is not the problem, and having full accsess is not the problem, Youa are able to read them on a pc because they are not as picky about the media that is used, Chances are the company is using a media that your Mac can not read.
Not all Mac drives can read all Media types.
and likewise not all PC's can read and write to all media types as well.
For the most part DVD-R and CD-R are the most widely compatible media's that almost all Computers can read and write to.
You will probably find that if they are in buisness doing this they probably have the latest technology and are using a media type that your Mac can not read.

  • New contacts created on iphone 4s will not sync to outlook 2010

all my updates are installed. but the contacts I create on the 4S will not sync to outlook 2010. anyone knows how to solve this?

You need to restore the backup of your old hard drive to the new one. The iPhone is not a backup device, and syncing iTunes content is one way, from computer to iPhone. If you don't have a backup there is an alternative process that can get most of the data off of your iPhone, but it is complicated and cumbersome. • New contacts added on iphone don't make it to addy book or Mobile Me

Hey - Not sure if this is a Mobile Me or an iphone issue.
When I add a new contact by clicking the return address and selecting New Contact on an email I receive the new contact does not show up in my iphone's contact list, and even after synching my phone it does not show up in my imac's address book either.
But, if I start a new email and start typing the person's name, it will autocomplete with the address I just added.
If I then add the contact at home on my imac, and synch it into my phone I see it once in my phone's contact list. But, if I start a new email and start typing the name I will have both entries to choose from, if I entered them differently. One from the one I added on my phone and another from my imac. This is most noticable for my brother. The one I created on the phone just has his first name, but the one I created at home is under first and last name. So if I start typing his first name it will show the first name entry and the first and last name entry as if they're two different people. I do not see a first name only entry in either address book.
This behavior followed me from my iphone 3G to iphone 4 upgrade.
I am using Mobile Me and in itunes I have all the synching turned off and in the iphone's Account settings I have all the synching turned on.
    Thanks!

This happened to me in a way on my new iPhone 4. I have many contacts on my phone and had them on other iPhones. My phone had been restored from my 3Gs back up when I got my iPhone 4. Someone texted me that wasn't in my contacts list and I clicked the option in SMS to add new contact. When I went to my contact list the name or number wasn't in there. However when I searched the name in spotlight it found it. I then synced to my computer and it didn't help. To fix it I just Spotlight searched, remembered the number and added it to my contact list straight up. I then had 2 results when searching spotlight and had to find out how to delete the one that wasn't exactly in my contact list and keep the one that showed up and now everything is fine.
However is there a fix for this so it doesn't happen again or an explanation to why.

  • Why do my contacts disappear (using iphone 4s)?

Why do my contacts keep disappearing!  I use ICloud to save my contacts but I have Verizon wireless backup.  Could these two interfere with each other and make random contacts disappear??
The only thing in common on the contacts that I have noticed is that I have not used them recently.
    Help!

This happens because when you sync them with iCloud they are moved from your phone to the iCloud server.  If you turn off iCloud you are disconnecting your device from the server so it can no longer access your contacts (or other iCloud data).
If you no longer want to sync your contacts with iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts off and choose Keep on My iPhone.  That will keep a copy of your contact on your phone.
