New Conversations Tag - can I remove it?
I've just noticed the Conversations tag in my BT Yahoo mail. (Yes, I know that I'm always moaning about it, that I've had excellent advice here to change my email 'provider', but I'm so busy!!)
I saw that there was an entry in it, which I declined - I should of course have ignored it as I have now probably confirmed to someone that my email address is genuine.
I went to Messenger options and clicked on the tab that said "only allow conversations from my contacts". Hours later, I now have had five more conversation requests from non-contacts.
(1) Is it me or is it yet another BTYAhoo system shambles?
(2) Is this Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger? I hadn't installed either - or so I thought. I was one of only a handful of people in the UK who hadn't seen "The Sound of Music" film and neither have I any interest in Facebook, Twitter etc etc.
Yet the blasted things seem to have infiltrated my PC.
Any advice please?

How can I remove all returns within the text?
I copied and pasted text onto pages from the internet, but the text does not go all the way to the end of the set margins that i have on Pages, instead it goes about halfway or so and begins on a new line. how can i remove all of the spaces between the words so that it runs the full length of the page.
It blows my mind that i have to resort to seeking help on the apple forums for this problem, it seems like something so simple would be a standard feature when adjusting text on the page. The only thing that could frustrate me more is if it impossible to do on this software, or if it is simple to do and I was too stupid to figure it out. How do you remove an old conversation using the Beta iMessage on an iMac. When I open a new conversation with the same person the old conversation comes back

Previously iChat had tried a Last Chat/IM option when using Saved Transcripts - which itself was an option.
iChat has also tried "Saving" the Last Chat by leaving a Chat window open and using something similar to the Lion method of showing an app in the state is was closed in.
In Messages the option to Save Transcripts has been removed and Chats or all types are saved as a matter of course.
What this tends to mean for your iChat style Buddy Chats is that it opens all the Transcripts for that buddy as a sort of History you can scroll back through if you want (I have some Buddies with saved chats gong back to 2004)
With the Syncing of iMessages with iPhones and iPads (or Touches) then it seems this works slightly differently.
Although you can delete the chat and the contents of the Chat as separate action it is true that in the Beta as soon as you connect to the same Contact that the contents of the previous chats are shown to you.
I have found that Messages stores a data base of info on iMessages in Your Home Folder/Library/Messages
I have found that deleting this chat-db removes the "History" that keep popping up.
By default the Saved "iChats" are also stored in the Home Folder/Documents/iChats (At least this is the default place iChat used and they go to the same iChats folder where ever you had it)
Some people claim removing iMessages saved here stops the "History" reappearing.
In Lion the only access to the Home Folder/Library is via the Finder's Go Menu and hiding down the ALT key

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.

I am trying to update to iTunes 10 to us my new iPad, but I can not remove a corrupted? "apple software update" program... I can get everything else off, but due to "previous version" of software update it will not continue.
I stopped in to see one of the genius at the local store who referred me to "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable" (I am trying to install it on a Windows XP System)
The last version on iTunes on my PC was iTunes 7.

Julia from WoodridgeUnfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.) -

Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

Add another e-mail account to your messages, so people could reach you on that e-mail from messages. As soon as you are online (if you have wifi only iPad) you are able to send and receive messages. i.e. your son can send you a messages from his iPhone addressing it to your (that additional) e-mail address.

Kimber. LeeSign out of iTunes and sign in with the new ID. On your computer, under on of the iTunes menus, on your iPad Settings > iTunes and App Stores and tap on the Apple ID.
Note that all apps downloaded under the previous ID are locked to that ID, and you will have to sign back onto it for any updates. -
I am trying to listen BBC radio news from BBC App, but on pressing the button "live radio" I always get the error "there was an error playing this radio feed". What is the source of this error and how can I remove it?
That is probably just a generic error message and you might not ever know what is causing it. Assuming that you have been able to play live radio with the app in the past (I know nothing about the app) and assuming that all other Internet related functions (Safari, email, etc.) are working properly on your iPad, quit the app completely and reboot your iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that fails to resolve the issue, you might want to reboot your router, unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. -
I like the new iOS 7 for iphone... But i think it's not a good idea to allow switch the iphone on flight mode when it is locked.. What happens if your iphone is stolen or lost? You couldn't be able to locate it using find my iphone... Can i remove this from the bottom menu?
And have your phone set to require a passcode before it can be accessed.

How can I remove people tags from MULTIPLE images in Organizer 13? The strategy for removing keyword tags does not work. It appears that keyword tags and People tags are considered something completely different in 13. I highlight multiple images, right click, and under keyword tags it says there are no keyword tags. There does not appear to be an option for people or other tags. Can anyone help? It is going to take literally hundreds of hours for me to do this one photo one tag at a time. ??

That CSS is complete nonsense. The correct way to remove borders from around links is here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/417110.
If you want to get rid of dotted lines, they are almost certainly caused by the outline property. However, outlines around links are there for a reason: it provides a visual "you are here" clue to people who navigate the web with the keyboard, either through preference or because of disability. You shouldn't remove the dotted outline without providing a different visual clue.

Repair Permissions and they don't repair
