I have no NB fan nor NB reading.  So this is the CPU fan RPM alarm going off when my CPU fan is anywhere above 5200 RPM's (or just randomly quite frankly).  It is almost always at 5113 . . . always has been with or w/o CoreCenter.  Right now the CPU fan speed slider is set to 2000 and it ain't going off, but intermitently of course.  So if I slide it up to 8000 the same thing.  It's like the slider has no effect. I am thinking about disabling the sound warning.  Problem is then when it "goes off" it can interrupt a game!
we'll see.  no version has ever worked for me.

  • New Core Center Ver. 1.6.6.0 Out

    MSI Core Center ReleaseDate: 2004-6-1
    Version 1.6.6.0
    Under,downloads for motherboard-utility

    OK guys.
Seeing you are in and out of live update.
On this machine it recognises the 1.71 bios, and if I click on Live Bios Update the dialog box says there are 3 changes from previous version
"1. This is AMI BIOS release.
    2. This BIOS fixes the following problems of the previous version:
    - Memory always run DDR 200 when install single side DDR on DIMM2 & DIMM3.
    - Windows 2000 can't format the RAID IDE HDD when plug in Promise 378 controller.
    3. 2004/05/06"
If any of you are still on 1.6, is this differant, as I did not pick up on the change with single and double sided mem. Which may help with certain Ram Sticks, and Snoppy to keep using win2K.

  • New core center version, not working!

Iv ealier used Core center with success on my old ms-6561 board. Just formated my drive and wanted to download again, but only found this new one and it does not support my board. Where cfan I find older core senter files?

core center does not display the temps correctly. download a program called speedfan. its better than corecenter

  • K8T Neo - Core Center alarm going off, nothing out of spec?

I've been running my A64 machine on my K8T Neo board for about 9 months now, with no problems at all.  I've been running Core Center all along, to get Cool 'n Quiet underclocking.  Until today, it's worked flawlessly.
Tonight, when I booted my machine up (Windows XP SP1), the interface popped up from the minimized icon, and the alarm started going off.  From what I can tell, if the dashboard sees something out of spec, it's supposed to flag it in red.  When I look at all of the reported values, they look the same as they've always looked.
I went to the MSI site and downloaded/installed v. 2.0.0.4, to see if it was a software problem.  Same thing is happening.  Here are the values being reported (again, they seem to be the same as always).
    Vcore: 1.10
    3.3v: 3.30
    +5V: 5.00
    12V: 12.08 (varies by a coulple hundreths)
    CPU Temp: 34c
    SYS Temp: 38c
    CPU Fan: 1700rpm
    NB Fan: N/A
    Current freqency (A64 3000+): 204Mhz x 5.0 -- 1020 Mhz (idling)
I'm hesitant to just silence the alarm, in case there's something seriously wrong.  Multiple reboots haven't changed anything.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Good to know that it's not a unique situation.  I really want to keep using Cool n' Quiet for the automatic underclocking to reduce the heat (at 100% load, my quiet fan doesn't cool all that well -- within range, but still high), without having to manually step the system back up every time a processor load hits.
See any problems with running Core Center with the alarm turned off, then Speedfan to actually monitor the system?  Or is there any way to get Cool n' Quiet without Core Center?
Interestingly enough we have the same CPU, and your 1.1V vcore is exactly what I get at 1000Mhz. You get "cool" (cpu Mhz throttling) by virtue of the AMD processor driver and "Minimal Power management" setting in Control Panel, Power Options. If you shut down corecenter and watch your system, if you see what I see on my system, the CPU will stay at 1000Mhz but the fan will not be controlled. Enter - speedfan for fan control. It does a real nice job, with no alarms.

  • New Core Center Ver. 1.7.2.0

1.Hardware monitor and overclocking and fan speed control tool.
2.No fan warning while abnormal speed detected (CPUFanStop ,NBFanStop).
3.Fix fan speed control (reach full speed).

i dont know if its the new corecenter or the newly released cpu driver, but the fan is spinning alot and too loud for my ears now.
max was before i installed these updates at 3700 or 3800, not max = 4400 and it doesnt run slower then 3300
and this is at Cool&quiet 800mhz !!! cpu temp is at 27°c (amd boxed heatsink+fan)
what is wrong ?? the new corecenter or the new cpu driver ?
well, i like the fan can reach max speed, yes, but i also like when no power is needed that the fan shuts up! :-D
hopefully im not the only one!
    btw: cpu = clawhammer

  • Core Center Temps Reversed?

With my recent Live Updates, I updated Core Center to Ver. 1.7.3.0.  Maybe I'm wrong, but the reported CPU and System temperatures now look reversed.

ok here is what i've found out or at least seems to be true.  The temps are all messed up in both bios and core center.  I tried bios 3.2, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, core center all I could try was the initial one that came with cd (seems to give same readouts I got with all the versions previous to the current one) and the current version.
I dont believe 3.6 reverses the temps, with all the bios's and corecenters the ambient/sys temp remains within one C.  The core temp is the only thing that really changes.
Idle core temps with new core center
    3.6 core 24C
    3.5 core 45C
    3.4 core 27C
    3.2 core 27C
Idle core temps with previous core center
    3.6 core 28C
    3.5 core 50C
    3.4 core 32C
    3.2 core 32C
the temps from the older core center and bios 3.2/3.4 seemed to give me published real world expected temps.  3.5 went way high and it seems that the newer core center may have been made to adjust for the high temp by compensating and bringing it down some since the newer core center lowers all the temps compared to the older versions.  3.6 seems to have over corrected cpu temp and combind with the newer core center which is also lowering temps you get really low temps.  I went back to older corecenter and the 3.2 bios and now my readings are around 31C idle (26C ambient) up to around 50C if i push it.

  • Core center overclock bug

There is a bug with the new core center. I usually use the auto overclock to see how high it goes and that gives me an idea of where to start hard setting it in the bios. I can set the fsb to 210MHz and click apply and it does nothing. All utilities show that I am still running at 200MHZ FSB

Core Center is not the Greatest thing from MSI, Alot of users choose not to use Core Center because of thier BAD experience. My self i would not recommend C,C
to overclock or for temps readings, Overclocking is best done in the Bios- If you are do afraid to change some settings in the bios then you should not Overclock your PC. AS for temp I Highly recommend SpeedFan as it reads from the Bios Difference between the both C,C & Speedfan a few degree's lower in temps.
Personaly I think C,C is still ment for P4's and not AMD's or they need to fix a few bugs in core center before they bring it out on a new boards

  • Migration to a new Core

    Hi
I am about to undertake a project to migrate our core switches to new hardware and am keen to find out the best way of doing this.
    Currently we have 3 sites. A, B and C
Site A, contains two Cisco 4506 switches that are end of life and are the ones scheduled for replacement. However, these pair of switches have a large number of SVIs, have many other access switches trunked to them, and they are running EIGRP and so have a large number of routes to other parts of the same overall network
Site B have switches connected over layer 3 vlan to Site A via a LAN extension service. Switches in Site B have local vlans and SVIs
Site C have switches connected over layer 3 vlan to Site A via fibre. Switches in Site C have local vlans and SVIs
Obviously i'd need to try and keep downtime to a minimum  so is it possible to set up the new Core switches in parallel in Site A, trunk them to the old Core, set the gateway of last resort to the old Core and then move each SVI one by one? Or maybe run EIGRP on the new Core also and let it work out the routing?
    Thanks in advance
    Leon

    Hi
we re about to migrate a couple of 6509-E to a couple of new 6513-E
We have a collapsed redundant core w/ some physical servers, couple of Nexus switches, about 40 access stacks. All is connected redundant to the two 6509-E's
Our plan would be like this:
    - First completely pre-configure the new 6513-E's, except for OSPF and BGP. And we shutdown all the SVI's
    - Label all cables going to the old 6509-E's (we print the new port numbers of the 6513-E to these labels)
    - Plug all these cables out of the first 6509-E
    - Get the first 6509-E out of the rack
Everything will be still running since everything is still plugged in to the second 6509-E. (But we re running on only 1 coreswitch now, so fingers crossed)
    - Build the new 6513-E into the rack & power on
    - Build a trunk between the 6509-E and the 6513-E
    - Plug the cables into the new 6513 according to the label info.
    - Shut down the SVI's  (with a script) on the old 6509-E and bring them up at the 6513-E (also with a script) . We will then have a short downtime for connected networks and no Internet or remote OSPF networks for some moments)
    - De-activate BGP and OSPF (old 6509-E) and activate BGP and OSPF on the new 6513-E .
Now all layer 3 functionality is running on the new 6513-E. We should be up and running again.
    - Now plug out the cables from the second 6509-E and get it out of the rack
    - Build the 6513 into the rack
    - Connect it to the other 6513 with a trunk.
    - Connect cables

  • Hi I just got my new Apple TV and I cant figure out how to connect it with My MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010- Processor  1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) OSX Version 10.8

    Hi
Hi I just got my new Apple TV and I cant figure out how to connect it with My MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010- Processor  1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) OSX Version 10.8

Are you referring to mirroring or you just unable to set up homesharing.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

    Hi all,
I have a problem that I had updated one request new data(it's like 200904 transaction data) to cube,

The problem arise, how could i find out which new cost center is added to 0costcenter,because I
need to listed those new cost center to user.
        Thanks.

in the maintain master data screen for cost center give all the attributes a restriction to initial value.
once you get cost centers search with them in the infocube and take out final list from there.
or you write a abap report to check cost centers which have all fields initial and get it in a file.
data: itab type standard table of /Bi0/pcostcenter with header line,
itab2 type standard table of /Bi0/pcostcenter with header line
    select * from /Bi0/pcostcenter
    into table itab
    where objvers = 'A'.
    loop at itab.
    if itab-BUS_AREA is initial.
      if itab-0COMP_CODE is initial.
.... keep checking for all the attributes.
.... if all atributes are initial
          append itab to itab2

  • New Dual Core Center "it rocks"

There is a new dual core center on MSI's 975x Power up page http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=746&kind=1
I have tested it quite a bit today .. it rocks...
    Everything works ...
It even recognizes my non-MSI Nvidia video card...
Just take the time to set up your separate profiles and save them, otherwise you will keep booting into MSI's default..
So set up your own profiles...
This is the first time that this application has ever worked properly for me ..
    and it is great ..
    Download it and enjoy...

  • Controlling fans with Core Center?

I feel such a fool, but I can't see any way of controlling fan speeds with MSI's Core Center?
The centre panel listss the CPU/NB temperature and fan speeds... if I click on the red arrow to the side of that, the extra panel that slides out simply gives me options on when the alarms should sound, based on either temperature or fan speed.
Am I meant to increase the fan speed by raising the minimum fan speed alarm threshold?  Not only is that a daft way of doing it, but it doesn't seem to have any effect...?

Quote from: petsoukos on 25-March-06, 21:16:41
Why isn't there a fan control for the NB Fan? The stupid thing runs at 7000rpm (according to CoreCenter) I need to control it coz not only it makes so much noise but it is also damaged making the noise 10 times louder and I have no time to RMA the board.
Please....I need to control it manually or I'm going to shut it down completely (ripping the freakin thing of the board).......
While I dunno about your mbrd, the NB fans on a couple of MSI mbrds I've played with are just not really speed controllable.  With Speedfan, I can reduce the speed but below 90% or so, the fan starts to stall and then oscillates between nearly stopped and its max speed.  I have mine, on a K8N Neo2 Plat set to max speed of 95% and min of 90%, which reduces the noise a touch.
If it's getting noisy and looking like failing, email MSI tech support and tell 'em it's failing and you're experiencing hangs and reboots.  I had two mbrds I reported like this, which were behaving badly, and they sent me 3 new heatsink/fans.  Those new fans run a bit slower, max of ~6Krpm, and are smoother running.  If you do this, it's a good idea to register the mbrd with them and then in your email, give the serial no and your postal address.  I had my new fans in a week or so, with no hassle or telephone calls at all.

  • BIOS/Core Center Temps

I'm slowly (not much available time) bringing my new KT6 Delta-FIS2R up. I have noticed that the Core Center CPU temp readout is 4-5 degrees C above the same item in the PC Health Section of the Bios. Because of the variety of Core Center problems that I see people writing in here forum with, I suspect that the Core Center is the monitor that's out of sync. Irregardless, is there a way to bring these two sources into agreement?

Core Center, as well as PC Alert, reads about 4-5C higher than the real temp. Use Speedfan instead, much more accurate, and takes less space.

  • NTune or Core Center or Digicell

    Hi
since Core Center and I assume even Digicell have doubtful reputation I would like to ask if enyone has done some experiance with NVidias "nTune"?
On nVidias site there is a info that nTune is NOT compatible with K8N Neo4 Ultra.
On MSI site I could reed that it IS.(compatible)
I really do not know if this has to do with different versions, but they are comming from NVidia.
    Thanks

As far as overclocking goes....best to do it the old-fashioned BIOS way!!!
If your CPU isn't getting overheated in those situations, it usually is a good sign that you don't need to run all that "iffy" software to verify temps anyway. However, if you are overclocking either the CPU or GPU, then a good program to monitor temps is a good idea.
For everyday casual use of your system.....and if your applications of thermal paste are within DIY parameters, you should be able to do without on-board temp monitors!!
    Yeah... what he said!
SpeedFan is still an ongoing/evolving work if you feel a need to know from the desktop....  it pretty much jibes with the BIOS H/W monitor.
And all you new Neo2 Plat guys out there - remember the cold start temp reporting bug - it will read high (4-6C) until you restart, then it'll display "correct" temp after - or as correct as the on board sensor will get
As long as your temps don't get into the high 50C's range at load, nothing is likely to fry....

  • Neo2 defaut FSB frequency , live update and core center issues

    Hi,
This is the point : i bought a brand new 915P Neo2 last week,
out of the box results : Windows XP SP2 install is OK right
now, Graphics Card is working properly but the system is
    still unstable !
--> I decided to install MSI core center but while running
      pc freezes !
---> tested MSI live update, packets download is working
but the tool is still unstable and pc freezes .... while testing system...
---> tested a small utility (third party) from intel website
to compute P4 target and actual frequency
this tool reports that my p4 is running at 3.24 Ghz,
I double checked and found that defaut FSB was set to 810 Mhz
even after hardreset and bios safe mode, CPU is running at 203 Mhz * 16 = 3248 Mhz
I really dont understand why reset value has been set to 203 Mhz ?? why not 200 Mhz
    so MSI 915 P  defaut setting is 1 % overclocking strategy ?
the bios setup is not really taken into account ??
have you ever pointed out this problem with defaut frequency ? is this a problem ?
what is your opinion regarding MSI utilities ?
I have a lot of random pc freezes, too many for this board !
    all advices are welcome !!

I don't usually recommend bios updates, but you should seriously consider it if you can get the board to run stable.
Test your ram with  Memtest86. This should give you an indication if you can do a flash from DOS, plus it will test the ram for you.
Try setting your FSB to 201. On the 865/875 boards that will hold the setting. 203 is typical of MSI and other manufacturers, but it really isn't high enough to be considered overclocking, and certainly isn't high enough to cause problems. But it keeps them in the race with the others when the reviewer's determine which board is best by looking at the decimal places.
You don't list your power supply data. Power and ram are the usual culprits, with heat being another.
