New created users don't work

I have a very strange problem here.
When i create a new user with the workgroup-manager, he doesn't work.
I can't connect the server by AFP from a client computer with the username and password of the user and i can't connect the web services (wiki-server) with the login data of the user.
The existing user work fine, only the new generated users doesn't work.
Maybe a problem with the Open Directory service?
Has someone an idea what the problem could be?

According to your description, the new mailbox doesn’t appear in Outlook while it’s visible in OWA.
Before going further, I’d like to recommend you check if it’s visible in Outlook with online mode.
If it is, the issue is most likely related to OAB. And we can try to download a new OAB and restart related services.

Mail rules work for some users, don't work for others

Ready to pull my hair out over this one:
Leopard to Snow Leopard upgrade went uneventfully, except for the fact that server-side mail rules (accessed via browser at FQDN -> Mail Rules) work for several users (two, to be exact) and don't for the rest (about 15 or so).
The usual culprits have been reviewed: 'Enable Server-Side Mail Rules' is checked in Mail -> Settings -> Filters, 'Allow users to configure server-side mail rules' is checked in Web -> Sites -> Web Services, users can create vacation notices and email rules without issue via browser, permissions look fine on the contents of /Library/Email Rules and /var/spool/imap/dovecot/sieve-scripts, logs give no indication of any foul play (at least the Email Rules -> debug.log generates the same entries for both functional and non-functional users), etc.
I have noticed that /var/spool/imap/dovecot/sieve-scripts contains only two items, which - you guessed it - line up with the GUIDs of the two functional users. Theoretically every user with a rule should be represented here.

I created both a vacation notice and an email rule for several users, thinking that may force the folder creation for those users, but no dice. I even manually created folders for a few users with their GUIDs as the folder names and assigned each user ownership and read/write access. Still nothing. Created a few new test user accounts just to rule out any legacy account weirdness (although it's worth noting that I completely redid the OD and recreated user accounts after the upgrade) and replicated the problem with these, as well. Lastly, used Inspector to compare OD attributes between functional and non-functional accounts, with no glaring differences.
Help!

Did you find an answer? I encounter the same problem on my new MiniServer. Deleted and created all users several times, but just for some accounts mail is working.

This is typically the result of the checkboxes on the form. You need to give a default value of 0 or 1 either using the Default option, or prepopulate. If you do not fill this in, when the form is completed through auto-save, it will have a null value.

Quicktime and new Adobe flash don't work!!

Ever since I have ? downloaded new iTunes/Quicktime updates I cannot get Quicktime to play any movie trailers. Also, when I go to any sites which need a Flash player, I am unable play any flash related videos. To add further frustration, I am unable to download the new Adobe flash player. It "downloads," but goes nowhere on my computer and is nonfunctional!! I feel like because I have an "old" Mac with Panther (which otherwise works great!), I am slowly being phased out of all the new downloads as they often either don't work or screw up my system. Help!!

I personally Repair Permissions about once a week or so (though the need to is highly debated here in Discussions).
You might be interested in having a look at About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.

Aol mail works, but aol videos don't. also, aol stays on page 1 of day's news stories. arrows don't work.

AOL opens as usual, but I can't move from page 1 of the day's news stories. The arrows don't work and the bar at the top says: aol.com/#. AOL videos go to "connecting." but don't play. My AOL mail account works fine. There are no AOL problems using IE.
Problems started 2 days ago. I'm a low-tech sort, but have tried various fixes suggested in the help section. Currently using Firefox 9.0.1 with Adobe and Silverlight plug-ins. No add-ons. No known (to me) changes 2 days ago that could have caused this. What's the fix? Please advise.

New AE (n) don't work well with old AE's.

Unfortunately, the new AE's don't seem to work very well with the old ones. Anyone else have this problem? Multiple problems, it seems. (Yes, I have the settings right).

I currently using ZfD3 SP1a ona Nw5.1 server.
I want to upgrade mu client to 4.90SP2 with a Zen apps object.
Users don't have admin rights on their workstation.
I don't want to use DLU (except if it can be activate once!).
Does anyone have the same issue with the system user? (secure or not
secure give the same results!)

We first do a copy of all the client files to the local workstation (to
c:\temp\novell\client), then launch as unsecure system user from there.
This has also the advantage that *if* something goes wrong, and network
connectivity is lost, a helpdesk person can manually install the client
without CD (they still carry around CD's with the 4.7 client version)

New email settings don't work

I've been warned 3 times to change my email server settings to pop.verizon.net and stmp.verizon.net.
Each time I do this, my Mac Mail shows I'm not connected to any network. Consequently, I get no mail. What's up wth that?
When I switch it back to the "wrong" setting, it works again.
Related or not: I use a virtual address, and my email stopped forwarding sometime between 6:30 and 7:30pm last night. This has never happened before, in years of using this system.
Additionally, the InHome Assistant does not recognize my Verizon User ID. The Email Assist online tells me how to set up a NEW account, not to fix my current one. Sure would like to get some help...

Many have reported similar issues, . Deleteing the existing email acct. then creating it fresh seems to work. You may also need to delete keychain for the old accout settings.

Unable to SSH in to ASA with new created user

Hello. I have an ASA 5510 firewall running an older verison of code. I"m trying to create a new user account to log in but I can't seem to SSH with this account. ASDM works fine but SSH fails. I thought the command would have been:
username newuser password usertest123 privilege 15
But I can't SSH with this. What am I missing?

New created user cannot access OWA

I have a sporadic issue with some new users. As we migrate folks to Exchange, some new accounts created are unable to access their mailbox via OWA (or their personal device). It just keeps responding "The username or passowrd you entered
isn't correct. Try entering it again.".
They never successfully log on (although some have after a few days). I've verified that they have the correct security.
Any ideas?

Try checking the OWA and ActiveSync policies, and comparing to a user that is known to work:

Multiple issue: Newly created passwords don't work/ can't update apps.

My issue is more with my apple i.d. than with my devices, which are an ipad 3 and an iphone 4 (will be upgrading soon). A few weeks ago, an icloud message popped up asking for my password. When I entered my password, it didn't work. I tried my password in several other places and it wasn't working, so I went into iForgot and changed it. It still wasn't working, so I tried changing it again, still no luck. This cycle continued for some time, recreating my apple id password over and over. I am using the same apple i.d. that I was before, but I had to change my gamecenter id, losing access to some games. My biggest concern is that I can get into the app store to see my account, but I can't update apps on either device. It doesn't say that I have the incorrect password, try again. It just does nothing. When I look at my account settings, I see that there is a password already in place (a previous password, can't see the digits, only the number of characters), but it is not the new one I created. When I try to put mine in it just reverts back to the old password, still leaving me unable to update my apps. About a week after this started, my wife and I noticed a dollar charge to our itunes account that we didn't do, we investigated and found out that my itunes account had been hacked. Apparently, the scam works when a small charge goes through and then once it does, much more is spent on itunes. I took my card off file and am waiting to get my apps updated, before I enter a new one. There are numerous issues happening and I'm not really sure where to begin. Any suggestions would be helpful.

New created Shortcuts does not working

Hello,
I tried to create a Shortcut for open Terminal in Finder so I turned it on in System preferences -> Keyboard.......
But I does not working ! I tried reboot system, delete com.apple.symbolichotkey.plist from user/Library/Preferences folder and still nothing.
I have any services in finder too.
Please, help.

Are you using the default "Launch Terminal" service (or one of the others), or did you create your own?
If your own, how did you make the service?
