NEW cUMER
hi,
this is my first posting in the forum i have just started
reading the adobe flex2 i have some questions.
a. How you will compile the program written in adobe flex2?
b. do you need to place the file which contain adobe flex2 in
some special folder?
c. i am a student form where i can download the student copy
so that i can learn this fantastic language.
d. why we need adobe flex2 like purpose e.g . PHP is used for
dynamic page wht is the main reason of that language.
please add me in ur messenger list
[email protected]
thanks for your cooperation
with regards and best wishes
Khurram.
a. use Flex builder, or mxmlc
b. A flex app is a compiled swf, rendered by the Flash
Player, hosted by a browser. How you get there is very flexible.
c. I do not know. Check the Adobe site.
d. State on the client, no page refreshes, cross-browser
compatibility, to name a few.

Hi Zenon,
bug #53398 is not a bug which will likely get fixed, it's an informational
bugreport.
You might see an errorstack like Brenda has reported (and described in
informational
bugreport #53398) probably when you are doing something illegal that is
possible
via Forte Tool but Forte is not trapping it for performance reasons. Hence
you will see
the error coming from your illegal operation only at runtime, probably
only
while
running interpreted in the Forte IDE, but in worst case it might be even a
segmentation
violation.
Technotes 12448 'Sudden client partition crashes at runtime' and 11225
'Don't reparent
mapped Widgets between UserWindows at runtime' explain this matter . See
attached.
But maybe Brenda is much more experiencing a problem as described by Forte
Technote 11398 'Read Only Workspace Errors using ListViews or ActiveX
control'
that might get easily resolved via setting of FORTE_YIELD_THROTTLE=0.
Good Luck and Best Regards !
BTW: I've logged bug #53398, so I've felt responsible to explain its real
background.

Technote 11398 Read Only Workspace Errors using ListViews or ActiveX
control
SCENARIO:
Getting some unusual interpreter errors that result in an error stating
that
the workspace has been set to read only. Please see Enclosures for the
two
most common error stacks that have been encountered. The abbreviated
versions of the errors are:
- Can't read record (record size = -1)
- Id in index does not match id in record header in data file
- Recursive deserialization attempted.
- Unknown Mark type in deserialization
- Could not read record (64,74615) from repository data file.
Header
is corrupt.
These errors can be happening in either the development environment when
running from one of the development workshops, or with the deployed
application.
The bug outlined in this Technote may be the culprit if the errors above
are
seen when running a client on Windows NT or Motif and the user interface
incorporates ActiveX controls or ListView/TreeView widgets.
CAUSE:
Basically what is happening is that in rare circumstances Forte may invoke
a
nested copy of the interpreter while the first interpreter has yielded.
This
is not a problem in and of itself, but in the case where the original
interpreter was in the middle of a repository fetch when it yielded, and
the second interpreter needs to fetch code as well, we will get one of the
errors listed above, depending on the exact timing. The reason for the
errors is that the repository code at this level is thread-safe but not
re-entrant. It is protected by a mutex that is already owned by the
current task. Which, given the scenario outlined here, where the two
interpreters are running inside of the same task, results in the nested
interpreter being allowed to change data out from under the first.
While for every fetch one or more calls to WindowSystem.Yield will be made
(this is there to prevent the semblance of system lock-up on Win 3.1,
where
Yield is the only way other applications can be allowed to run), there is
a parameter which controls how often to actually yield, which by default
is
set to one out of every 100 calls. This is the reason the problem is
intermittent--you need a yield to occur during a repository fetch
which starts another interpreter which also needs to fetch code from
disk.
The reason this has only surfaced recently is that the nested interpreter
scenario can only happen in 2 cases that we know of:
- ActiveX controls which respond to events/Windows messages
- Outline fields/ListViews with column(s) mapped to virtual
attributes
In all other normal cases, the yield can process the message (typically a
paint message) without starting another interpreter, so regardless of
whether
the first interpreter yielded during a repository operation or not, there
is
no conflict.
SOLUTION:
The workaround is to prevent yields altogether by setting the
FORTE_YIELD_THROTTLE environment variable equal to 0 in the client's
environment. This should have no detrimental effects since the yield code
is in place solely for Windows 3.1x clients.

Technote 11225 Don't reparent mapped Widgets between UserWindows at
runtime
It is sometimes tempting to unparent a widget from one UserWindow and
reparent
it into another at runtime. However, this can cause crashes if the widget
(or
its decendants) are "mapped" to data. Here's why...
Suppose you have two UserWindows, UW1 and UW2. UW1 contains a DataField
(DF1)
which is mapped to a TextData. UW2 contains a RadioList (RL2) which is
mapped to
a scalar Integer. At compile time, every mapped attribute is internally
assigned
a "Map ID" (a small integer) which is used to tie the Widget to its
corresponding attribute. These Map IDs are used by the Widget to look up a
pointer to their data in a "Map" which is maintained by the UserWindow.
Each
UserWindow is assumed be to independent of the others, so there is nothing
wrong
with Widgets in different UserWindows being assigned the same Map IDs.
In
this
case, let's assume that DF1 and RL2 both got assigned the same Map ID of
3. No
problem so far, since each lives in a separate UserWindow with a separate
map.
Now suppose at runtime the application "detaches" or unparents DF1 from
its
UserWindow and reparents it somewhere into UW2. When it comes time for DF1
to
paint itself the Display System it must ask the Runtime System for the
value of
DF1's mapped attribute. To do that it says "give me the value of the
TextData
for DF1. You'll find it in the Map for this UserWindow (UW1), and its Map
ID is
3". When the runtime system goes to do this it expects to find a TextData
in
this "slot" of the map, but instead it picks up the integer which is
mapped to
RL2. At best this leads to bad data being returned; more likely you get a
segfault and a crash.
If DF1 was not a mapped attribute (say, a Rectangle) there would be no
problem
because there is no data mapped to a Rectangle. If instead of moving DF1
you
created a brand new DataField on the fly there would be no problem,
because the
dynamic DataField would not have any Map ID and so couldn't conflict with
any
IDs in UW2.
So how do you solve this problem? This is exactly what Nested Windows are
all
about. While you can't move DF1 into the middle of UW2, you can nest
UW1.
This
works because UW1 brings its map with it, and when you access DF1 it knows
to
look up its value in UW1's map.
UserWindows are intended to be the "unit of compilabilty" that can be
nested
inside other UserWindows. It is dangerous to "transplant" anything from
inside
one UserWindow into another at runtime.
(Note that you can't avoid this problem by cloning DF1 because the MapID
gets
copied along with it, and the clone will fail in the same way.)
Further details explained in related technote 12448 'Sudden client
partition
crashes at runtime.'
Technote 12448 Sudden client partition crashes at runtime
Scenario : You have two UserWindows, A and B. When Window A starts up, it
instantiates an instance of B and reparents some component of B into A's
window
hierarchy.
This is not allowed and almost always leads to an error at best or at
worse a
segmentation fault.
Here's why :
When you compile a UserWindow in Forte, each "mapped attribute" (whether a
form
element or menu element) is assigned an internal ID which represents an
offset into
that UserWindow's table of mapped attributes. This offset is only valid
in the
context of the UserWindow in which it was compiled. If you detach a
FieldWidget or
MenuWidget from one compiled Window ("tmpMenu" for example) and then
parent
into another compiled window ("tmpWindow") the internal ID comes with it.
When Forte tries to make use of that copied widget it uses the ID as an
offset
into tmpWindow's table of mapped attributes. But that copied offset is
meaningless in the context of tmpWindow's table, so you get some kind off
error.
In this case it found that the data type of the variable in the slot
wasn't
what
was expected. But you might even index off the end of the table and get a
segmentation fault.
There is nothing to prevent you from dynamically creating menu items and
adding
them to a window at runtime; that will work fine. Although of course you
can't
access them via mapped attributes, since those can only be created at
compile time.
But you are not allowed to reparent a widget from one compiled UserWindow
into
the hierarchy of another.
More information may be found in technote 11225 'Don't reparent mapped
Widgets
between UserWindows at runtime'.
Possible errorstacks seen at runtime instead of a complete crash or
segmentation
violation while you are illegally reparenting a widget or menuitem between
windows
at runtime:

Possible errorstacks seen at runtime instead of a complete crash or
segmentation
violation while you are illegally reparenting a widget or menuitem between
windows
at runtime:

Subject: (forte-users) 3J=>3M new to me error
Hi,
We are in the process of going from 3J1 to 3.0.M.2, and I am getting
this error that I am unfamiliar with on a GUI that works fine in 3J.
It
does not happen all the time, and I have been unable to establish the
pattern that kicks it off. Has anyone seen this before?
PS- this error is not occurring in the deployed (non-compiled) app,but
when I am running locally from my workspace.

Problem with the creation of a new user
Hi!
II want to create new user in the database but i have this message: this entry already exists in the following tables (CUMI).
This user doesn't exists and we haven't deleted users.
When I am going to see in the table OUSR I have 19 users
But when I am going to see the table CUMI, it recognises an user code 20!
when I use the orange arrow near the user code 20, nothing happens.
SAP 2005 A PL 46
How can i do?
Thank you

One client encounter a problem in one of there DB, where in they cannot add new User although they change the User Code many times but yet they get the same error. The error message is"This entry already exists in the following tables" (CUMI) (ODBC-2035) [Message 131-183]"
Why it says that the record exist in the CUMI Table?
I advise them to check the OUSR tables for those record with a GROUP value of 99 and advise them to delete in the SQL for them to add a new user. But they still encounter the same problem. As what they say they dont intend to recycle old user codes. They even try to add usercode that was not found in OUSR (like test100, try200) but still get the same error message.Hi,
CUMI table is User Menu Items table.
Maybe the error caused by overlapping in the table. As a comparison, you can look at this note:
There is more than 1 series of outgoing/incoming payments defined for
Outgoing/Incoming Payment, with overlapping numbers (different indicator).
You are trying to add an Outgoing/Incoming payment based on an invoice
with deferred tax. You might get the following error messages:
Corrupted data in rows [Message 285-4]
"This entry already exists in the following tables (VPM7)(ODBC-2035)[Message 131-183]".
Other terms
VPM7, deferred tax, Mexico localization
Reason and Prerequisites
Application Error
Solution
This issue will be fixed in a patch of version 2005A SP1. Please refer
to the info.txt file on SAP Service Marketplace to confirm.
As a workaround, define a new series which does not overlap a previous
series for Outgoing/Incoming payment.
So, the solution is upgrade to latest PL or try the same work around with above note.

Where the new data's are placed first ?
Hi,
I have created the database of TimesTen as per the steps in
http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/timesten/1121/quickstart/html/admin/db_ops_createdb.html
using Data Source Name (DSN )
Placed data in C:\TimesTen\Database
Placed log in D:\TimesTen\Log
Command> connect "dsn=my_ttdb";
Connection successful: DSN=my_ttdb;UID=*******;DataStore=C:\TimesTen\Database\my_ttdb;DatabaseCharacterSet=AL32UTF8;ConnectionChar
=D:\TimesTen\Log;PermSize=700;TempSize=300;TypeMode=0;OracleNetServiceName=orcl_db;
(Default setting AutoCommit=1)
If the tables are created it will be data file that is in C:\TimesTen\Database path
If the data's are populated(inserted/updated) then the log will be in D:\TimesTen\Log path and data's will be C:\TimesTen\Database
Here what ever command which is issued will be logged in D:\TimesTen\Log
Where the new or incoming data's are placed , first in-memory or where ,if it is placing in memory when it will be writing to disk. I couldn't be able to see any data's in memory when the new data is inserted.
I am using bulk command to insert the data
ttBulkCp -i DSN=my_ttdb mytable C:\TimesTen\Database\test.txt
When the data's are inserted it writes the log in the log directory D:\TimesTen\Log and the new log files are generated my_ttdb.logXX ,then what is the difference in general Oracle database and Oracle TimesTen database?
If the logs are going to happen when we use the ttBulkCp command then we can opt for Oracle database and why we need to go for Oracle TimesTen if all the operations are similar. What differs here with normal Oracle database.
Thanks!Hi,
In the link
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21901_01/doc/timesten.1122/e21633/comp.htm#BABHBICB
under Database persistence topic it is said as Databases are created in two ways :
Permanent databases are stored to disk automatically through a procedure called checkpointing. TimesTen automatically performs background checkpoints based on the settings of the connection attributes CkptFrequency and CkptLogVolume. TimesTen also checkpoints the database when the last application disconnects. Applications can also checkpoint a database directly to disk by invoking the ttCkptBlocking built-in procedures
Temporary databases are not stored to disk. A temporary database is automatically destroyed when no applications are connected to it; that is, when the last connection disconnects or when there is a system or application failure. TimesTen removes all disk-based files when the last application disconnects.
A temporary database cannot be backed up or replicated. Temporary databases are never fully checkpointed to disk*, although Checkpoint operations can have significant overhead for permanent databases, depending on database size and activity, but have very little impact for temporary databases. Checkpoints are still necessary to remove transaction log files.
If the Temporary databases are never fully checkpointed to disk then how cum the full data are written to disk
How to Setup a Permanent database
How to Setup a Temporary database (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21901_01/doc/timesten.1122/e21633/using.htm#BCGJAJDI)
But the statements are not clear
I need to check how it works on a Permanent database and Temporary database, so it would be helpful if you could provide alternate link how to configure Permanent/Temporary database.
My aim to keep the data in memory (i have not installed Oracle database, only TimesTen has been installed)and replicate the data to another server. For this requirement whether TT will a suitable.using Windows 2003 and 32 bit OS -
Multiple alerts of new updates

About once a week I get an alert that new Adobe update is ready for downloading. Its the same one over and over: AcroProUpd710 all cum.exe.
I've downloaded and installed several times but they keep coming.
Any suggestions? joeZyTurn off the auto update in the preferences. Don't expect new updates for AA7 unless they are critical security updates. You can always go the Adobe.com and check the download>updates site for any new updates. Then download them. That is better for the future anyway.

Standard User Lic upgrade to Professional Lic for CUMA
Hi NetPro.
my company is going to purchase CUMA server , however my current user lic which all in Stand only. however, i am thinking to upgrade them to Professional in order to use the feature of CUMA . however, i am stucked in the Dynamic Tool generator as i can't just generate the Lic from Std to Pro.
Appreciate your guidance .

KittenHi Ron, this is pretty strange, no idea how gMail turned into MobileMe accounts, but that info is in the main .plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
MobileMe is gone, but Mobileme addies work on iCloud.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.
Thanks to dpepper...

Syslogd - How to make it close and open a new messages file
I am doing some testing and I need that every time I start my testing a new
var/adm/messages file is started.
I can mv the /var/adm/messages file and touch a new message file. However,
the syslogd process still does not notice this. I know there is a way to
give a signal to the syslogd process without having to reboot the machine.
So, the instruction will be kill -<signal> <process ID - pid>
However, I do not know which signal.
I give kill -l, and it shows me a lot of signal but no speciafication or
description of each.
in the man pages of the syslogd it is mentioned this possibility, but it
does not say the signal.
Please can you help me with this.
Please e-mail to [email protected]
ThanksHi,
i have a solution cum - question:
Solution:
we can clear the /var/adm/messages file (just before starting the testing) by :
# > /var/adm/messages.
Q: Though this is a very crude way of doing it, This serves the purpose doesnt it ? and has worked for me. I havent found any problems with this and I dont need to reboot either .
Is there any problem that i am unaware of in this approach. ?

CUMA Integration with BES (ie. without ASA)
Hi Guys,
My apologies if this has been answered already, I was able to find pieces of info which seems to contradict the documentation.
We have purchased CUMA 7.X, we have a Blackberry Enterprise Server and we do not have an ASA.
From some of the posts here, it seems that an ASA is not requried for CUMA deployment but from reading the Installation and Configuraiton guide for CUMA 7.X, it states that "A Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) is required for new installations and for upgrades, to
provide secure connections to the Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage server"
So do I need an ASA or not? I do not see any documentation that discusses deployments without an ASA or deployments using a BES.
THis is all very new to me, I'd appreciate some guidance,
Thanks in advance,
NeilNeil,
There are a couple of factors that play into this.
1. What version of CUMA you install.
2. What types of phones you plan to deploy the clients on.
3. What version of the client you plan to run on phone.
As for the first point I would suggest only installing CUMA 7.1.3 or higher. The best version to be on would be 7.1.3.10101-4 as it is the latest version on and has the most bug fixes.
If you plan to ONLY deploy Blackberry 7.x clients with CUMA then you do NOT need an ASA. Your BB clients will connect into your network via the BES. This will also require a VeriSign or GeoTrust signed certificate on the CUMA server.
If you plan to have a mixed environment like Blackberry clients and iPhones then you will need an ASA. The BB clients will still connect in through the BES but the iPhones will connect in through the ASA. This will require 2 signed certificates. One for the CUMA server and one for the ASA.
Please find some helpful documentation links here:
Deploying CUMA 7.x with BB 7.x clients:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuma/7_1/XML/clients/cuma71_clients_deploying_chapter3.html#concept_F562387DD1C345BCA816D6DAE12F9136
Information on the certificate requirements:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuma/CUMA_CUMC_Compatibility_Matrix.html#wp83049
I hope this information helps,
Robbie -
Does anyone know the logic that CUMA uses?
We are trying to get a CUma setup to work and the iphone just hangs and verifying, and I am seeing packets traversing the ASA, I know the certificates are good, but The phones are just not working.
I used this document,
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuma/7_1/XML/new_installs/b_cuma71_new_install_config.html
and I have a NAT issue resolved since EZVPN breaks when following the doc exact with the nat rules.
Cuma needs to see the ASA Inside IP, correct? Thats what I gather from the Doc.
OK say the Certificates are good, Nat is good, TLS is working MMP is OK etc. What are the steps taken when a phone connects to Cuma?
Phone touches ASA, ASA proxies the connection to the cuma server using its inside IP as the source, instead of the real IP of the phone, server responds to the IP, ASA translates it back to the real IP and sends it to the phone. So far thats what is happening, whats the next step Cuma takes to get the phone to register?
Cisco TAC is going around in circles with us, one says its certificates and points to ASA, ASA says its the server and points back.
Cisco Tac broke the signed certificates in the process of trying to "fix" them when they deleted the key-pairs. I reinstalled all certificates by the book and they are working.USMC -- I found this for you. I was pretty sure it was YoYo Ma.
This is from the NYTimes. http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/10/05/with-steve-jobs-tribute-a-home-page-ref lects-its-founder-again/
On most days, Apple.com is like any other corporate home page — a billboard, a news hub for corporate goings-on and a launching pad for an online store where people can buy stuff. Every once in a while, though, it turns into something unlike any other big company’s home page.
Friday was one such day, when Apple’s home page featured a video tribute to Steven P. Jobs, the company’s co-founder and former chief executive who died a year ago to the day. The 105-second video consisted of still black-and-white images of Mr. Jobs with audio of him announcing Apple products like the iPhone and describing Apple’s corporate philosophy. The music on the soundtrack is Bach’s Prelude No. 1 in G Major for Cello, played by Yo-Yo Ma, who was a friend of Mr. Jobs.
You can find it on iTunes, under Suite for Solo Cello, No. 1.
It's at the top of the YYM, Bach list. -
New security features added in JD Edwards World A9.3
Hi,
We have to migrate the security policy settings from A 7.3 to A 9.3.
I read that we can take the advantage of new security model which is much robust and flexible than the earlier versions.
So please advise on the following:
a)migrate usernames/passwords.
b)maintain security policy settings.
c)migrate menus
Thanks,My goodness, this is something that you really need to contact support for help with. You don't mention what JDE World 7.3 cum version you are on, what version of OS/400 you are on, and what IBM hardware you are on. Could be all sorts of things. What sort can do is start a web session and see what is actually going on in your system, and be able to look at the various settings and configurations that you have. Something that we cannot do on this forum. Support is very well equipped to deal with this kind of problem. On this forum, we can speculate as to possible causes, but those speculations may not apply to your specific problem, and cause you to waste time chasing a dead end.

Hi, I'm just configuring CUMA 7.1. I have some questions about CUMA configuration. Actually, my client cannot connect to CUMA server and I coundn't find the source of this problem.
My CUMA is running, I have connection to AD and activated one user in CUMA. I have also connection to CUCM (7.1) and Presence server. CUCM is not synchronized with AD, but there is end user with the same login and password such as in AD. I added one mobile phone to my test user in CUMA (country = other, provider = other, phone model = Nokia E-series N-series and S60) with tel. number of my mobile phone 420......... .
In CUCM I registered deskphone 7911. End user has associated Remote dest. profile with one Remote destination. In this remote destination is as dest. number my phone number in the same way as in CUMA. This remote dest. is also associated with the line of my deskphone. I have also registered CUMC to CUCM with line of my deskphone.
I have deployment with ASA, but ASA doesn't have certificate signed by VeriSign. I created my own certificate and to my mobile phone I imported certificate of my certificate authority.
1 - my problem is, that CUMC in my phone is not able to connect to CUMA. There can be problem with ASA. Will I see all incoming connections to CUMA in cuma.log? I suppose, that if I will have some bad settings in my phone, I will at least see, that someone is trying to connect to CUMA and from log messages, I will be able to localize problem.
2 - in CUMA - System manag. - Network conf. - Proxy host name -> there is an outside IP address of ASA, which is accessible from Internet. We don`t have an entry in DNS yet. Can it be a problem?
3 - End users in CUCM are not synchronized with AD. Users in CUMA are taken from AD. End user in CUCM has got the same login and password such as user in AD. Is it OK?
4 - in CUCM, Cisco Unified Mobile Voice Access Service is up and running, Do I need to set up some special mobility configuration in CUCM?
5 - do I need to connect in CUCM registered CUMC and Remote dest. profile or remote destination? Remote destination is set with my mobile phone number and CUMC is registered with the primary line of my deskphone?
I hope, that if there will be some problem in configuration in CUMC, my mobile phone client will be able to log into the CUMA and I will see some error messages in cuma.log
Messages in current cuma.log are:
INFO | null - ThreadPool-Thread-389| com.orative.core.service.sip.uapool.SipConnectionPool| | | | | | inactivityTimerExpired|SipConnectionPool: Inactivity timer callback called. context is com.orative.core.service.sip.uapool.DsConnectionWrapper@1b84411
INFO | non-persistent-timer-queue-tp#6-Thread-282| com.orative.cluster.ManagedServerRegistration| | | | | | register|Registering managed server with admin server at http://localhost:7080/adminportal/registerManagedServer
I will appreciate any help because now don't know the source of my problem:(Hi
1. While there is a way to request them, it only works if the mail recipient is using Outlook/Windows Mail to read their email, and only then if they have it turned on. Read receipts is not a standard feature of email. So I wouldn't bother.
2. Go to the Address Book, click on the group, hit Return and give it a new name.
3. You can print the whole email with attachments (if they're printable), but not attachments directly from within Mail.
4. Use the Option key to create foreign characters and symbols in any application. For example, the euro symbol is shift-option-2 (for a US keyboard). I believe option-2 might work for a UK keyboard.
5. I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you explain in more detail?
Hope that helps!

CUMA SSL Certificate (2048 bits)
Hi team
I have Sent to verisign, a self-signed request for a CUMA Server 7.1, but, they say that the key size is not secure (1024 bits) and they want, that I change the Key size to 2048bits. Can I do that? I won´t have problem with this change?
Thanks
JoseHere do we need to generate the new key pair or can we use the default Key pair .
As you already created the default keypair with 2048 bits, you can use the default one. But it's a good practice to have separate key-pairs for different functions. So I would generate a new key-pair with a specific label like "SSL-KEYS" and use that for ASDM.
Also for self signed certificate do we need to specify the DN attributes value ? i.e Common Name , Department , Company Name etc. etc .
that depends on how you want to access your ASA. If you have your ASA-FQDN in DNS, then use that as the subject (CN=asa.example.com). Or you use the inside IP address of the ASA to access the ASDM.
Also do we need to enable Act as local certificate authority and issue dynamic certificates to TLS proxy ?
no, that's a completely different functionality.

CUMA 7.1 Certificate password upload error
Hi,
I'm trying to upload APNSCertificate.p12 certificate on CUMA 7.1, when I attempt to upload the certificate, using the password "cisco" according to the documentation, it says that the password must be at least 6 characters. Is this a browser related problem needing a six character password when cisco is only five, or is this CUMA software related?
I've tried google chrome, IE6, IE7, Firefox3.6.... Still get alert
certificate password should be at least 6 characters.
Any suggestions?

Certificate Password
cisco
If your browser does not allow you to enter this password, try using a different browser for this procedure.Hi,
Please make sure all the security context (spcifically one toward inside and the other toward outside) are ok and properly configured.
The new APNS cert is only needed if the old is deleted or expired.
Please check if the CUMA is latest version from cisco.com
Just tested with Firefox 3.6.11 - it works. The Error is browser related. You may want to try from a different computer (may be that's not part of the same domain so that same security doesn't apply)
