New Database Create Fails in Windows 2003

I have just installed Oracle9i on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition without any problems (Server software -> New version of the Installer -> Patchset). Then I tried to create a new database with the DBCA (Database Creation Assistant). Although I can create the template without any problems, the db creation fails with a messagebox showing "CreateProcess: null -new -sid GTPORA -startmode m error=2". Then it gives me a ORA-12560 error. Can anyone assist here ?

I have installed 9.2.0.3 following the instructions - server; new installer; then the patchset. It looks like a problem of the Java environment that DBCA is using but I am not sure.

How do the application servers connect the new database after failing over from primary DB to standby DB

How do the application servers connect the new database after failing over from primary DB to standby DB?
We have setup a DR environment with a standalone Primary server and a standalone Physical Standby server on RHEL Linux 6.4. Now our application team would like to know:
When the primary DB server is crashed, the standy DB server will takeover the role of primary DB through the DataGuard fast failover. As the applications are connected by the primary DB IP before,currently the physical DB is used as a different IP or listener. If this is happened, they need to stop their application servers and re-configure their connection so the they coonect the new DB server, they cannot tolerate these workaround.
Whether does oracle have the better solution for this so that the application can automatically know the role's transition and change to the new IP without re-confige any connection and shutdown their application?
Oracle support provides us the answer as following:

Hi, I found the solution. There is no software to direcly install Oracle 9i on Windows 2003. I need to install the software for NT/2000 first, the patch it.
That's why there is only patchset for 2003 for downloading. See the doc below:
three installation components required to install
Oracle9i Database release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) on Windows Server 2003. These three
installation components must be installed in the order listed. If you are
migrating a pre-existing Oracle9i database to Windows Server 2003, first
upgrade the database to the Oracle9i Database release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) patch set

New Databases are failing in East Asia And Japan

Creating new SQL database & server at present fail in East Asia & Japan locations -> After creating can't connect - VS 2013 also prompts for firewall despite Azure Management panel showing FW rules in place.
SQL Returns Error 64. (For the above locations)
Creating new SQL DB's & servers in US locations appears fine.
I often feel the guys that are supposed to manage azure are asleep at the wheel when it comes to non-US locations. It shouldn't have to be me that tells you when your services aren't provisioning correctly. IF anyone could be bothered please reply when the
services are functioning again in East Asia... *It's also silly I need to pay Azure to submit a ticket to tell them they're stuff is broken, Azure has once again wasted my time. If someone there wants to post links to obscure webpages that (of course) don't
fix the problem don't bother.
Minor Rant over ... just get things fixed.

Did I miss something?

The documentation is out of date. The unzip to dropins method is no longer supported. The OEPE zip you downloaded is actually an archived repository. You can follow the instruction for installing using Eclipse Update Manager and point to the downloaded zip instead of the online repository.
I will follow up to get the docs updated.

How can I see more detail as to why this table creation is failing?

The problem arises when you install the J2EE add-in in an upgraded Solution Manager 4.0 database. The upgraded database is by definition non-unicode and the J2EE add-in tables are unicode. The solution is to configure your database for non-unicode tables:
db2 "update db config for $DBID using ALT_COLLATE IDENTITY_16BIT"
I don't remember if this parameter changed immediately or if a db2 restart was necessary. You could try 'db2 "get db config for $DBID show detail" to find out if the parameter is waiting on a restart to update it.
Note that this IS documented in one of the Solution Manager 4.0 installation and/or upgrade guides but it was hard to find.

Excel Export Fails in Windows 2003 Server

In my development environment, I am deploying an classic ASP web site on a Windows 2003 server (sp2).
It is exporting the crystal reports to excel.
In my UAT environment, I am deploying the same ASP web site on a windows 2003 server (sp2) R2. (Release 2).
However, it is failing while exporting the crystal reports to excel.
Both development and UAT Site is using Crystal reports XI.
The other difference between development and UAT environment is ,
Development environment is installed with MsOffice 2000 whereas NO MsOffice is installed in UAT Enviornment.

This is issue was getting resolved after installing Crystal Report Service Pack II.
Go to
Start --> Programs -> Business Objects --> Crystal Reports Server --> Central Configuration Manager
The version number in this window clearly shows which version of the service pack has been installed in a system.
If it is 11.5.8.826 means system is installed with Crystal Report Service pack II.

I'm trying to generate a database create script using DBCA. I have another database running on the same physical server(HP-UX and oracle 10g R2). When I run the DBCA, it is creating scripts to Clone DB and Clone RMAN restore. Why it is not generating to create a new database instead of cloning the DB.

ThanksWhen you launch dbca, you need to select to create a 'custom' database, not one of the pre-canned templates. The templates will all result in a script that does an rman restore from a backup that comes with the product. Selecting 'custom' database will result in scripts built around the CREATE DATABASE sql statement.

QT 7.1 fails on windows 2003 server. REVERTED NEEDED.

Tried to update to Itunes 6.0.5, and I've been to ****, and reverted.
Quicktime 7.1 does not install proberly on windows 2003 server.
MORE IMPORTANTLY: it will not properly uninstall.

WIndows 7 and Windows 2008 authentication failed in Windows 2003 Domain

We have Domain with Windows 2003 and recently Windows 2008 Doamin controllers also added.
We are facing authentication failure for Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Domain members when user is trying to login.
Schema Master is on Windows 2003 and remaining roles on Windows 2008 Domain controller.
Windows XP clients login is working fine.
Problem si for Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Domain members login.
Any hint/solution will be really great help.

I found some more details about issue
Below are the events getting generated. It looks like due to encryption mismatch with Windows 2003 Domain and Windows7 and Windows 2008 clients. However i am looking for solution if someone tested this case.

How to change the size of New Page create pop up window ?

In Site Actions on clicking of New Page the pop up page is opened it is stretched mode.
I want to change the width of that pop up windows only.
After pressing F12 key i find that it is happening because of the java script function on calling of which that page is opened.
But i am unable to find that javascript function from where it is calling or where it is written or how i can modify that function.
So please help me out in solving that issue.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change the size of the new page pop up dialog.
We can create a new dialog with proper size to achieve it.

Can you post the errors log from the ADS instance? Not sure if it anything would be there though.
- how about running it with a verbose option (-v)
Easiest would be to dismantle and recreate ads.

The mdf and ldf files for PLTESTDB were created successfully. The issue I'm having is that tables are not showing when under PLTESTDB. I've searched online and most answers point to Permission issue. I already added user with the ff. database roles
db_owner
db_reader
db_writer
But even after refreshing or even closing relaunching SSMS, i could not see any table under PLTESTDB. I've spent a lot of time already on this but can't find the fix. I might be missing something here. I tried it on another computer but same issue
persists.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to get this resolved are highly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You're right Olaf! The above script is only for creating DB and not tables. I should have done further reading. I tried now generating scripts for all objects and I got the ff. error:

I think script is having reference to a column which doesnt exist
But unless we see script we will not able to understand the exact reason
