  • Crystal Reports 2008 - Error setting new datasource location

    Hi All,
We are experiencing an issue while trying to set datasource location for our RM 3.0 reports in Crystal Reports 2008 designer. As per guide "SAP BusinessObjects Process Control 3.0 and Risk Management 3.0 - How to build and Personalize Custom Crystal Reports" (step 11), after opening the desire report we go to DataBase-->Set DataSource Location and when selecting our RM system (which actually has the BI content addon installed on it), we got the following error message:
"Some tables could not be replaced, as no match was found in the new data source. Please verify the table required for any unmodified tables"
I'm new on this so I'm not sure if the table indicated in the original datasource should exist in my DB (new datasource) before doing this? If so, how those tables are imported or created in our DB?
Could you please help me on this issue?
Please let me know if any other detail or data is required.
    Regards

    Hi Don,
    Thanks for the update.
Actually I've installed SAP Integration Kit and its Fixpack in both....BOE Server (which is the same as the SAP server) and in client pc.  In all cases we have select a typical installation which supposes the required drivers are available. Also I've followed Ingo's documentation to activate and publish standard Risk Management reports (RM reports). Everything works ok with them. We are able to access reports through the application.
The issue appears when trying to customize one of these standard reports through CR Designer. For example if we select the "GRRM_Risk_by_Risk_Category" and try to customize it as indicated in the "SAP BusinessObjects Process Control 3.0 and Risk Management 3.0 - How to build and Personalize Custom Crystal Reports"...the table behind this report (table GRFN_CY_API_GRRM_R1) it's not in our RM System. My main concern or question is regarding this....Did I miss something while importing transports files, activating or publishing RM reports, etc....and thatu2019s the reason why this (and any other) table is not already in my system? I was not able to find where those tables are supposed to be or how they should be imported in my system. The odd thing is...that we are trying to customize and set the new data source for these reports to the same system from where they are being opened. Put in this way...RM reports have been activated in system A (RM System) and published to system B (BOE System). While customizing reports through CR Designer...we are actually opening reports from system A. These reports have as their original data source...a demo SAP system info (uxcir1p.wdf.sap.corp) and when we want to update this data source with our RM system....the error appears. The whole process is explained in the above mentioned guide for your reference.
    Hope being clear enough..
    Thanks for your help

  • Creat a new Datasource in BW

In Administration Workbench->modelling->Source Systems:I want to creat Data source in BW and replicate it from R3.I have already created a Data source based on a table in R3 and when creating it,there is only one item in applcation component:NEW_HIER_ROOT,not a tree hierachy. And in BW,when I creat a new data source, the background user in BW is grey, couldn't be changed. After I finished the procedure, system displayed that source system already exit.but it contains the tree hierachy. After I replicated,It hadn't datasource which I created. What's the problem? How to fix it? Give me the hits,please.Thanks.

Hi dear and welcome on board!
First of all, if you want to see all the other items of the std hierarchy, you have to execute RSA9 transaction...
Then, I'm not undersatnding what are you doing with your new datasource...
You simply have to create your datasource in RSO2...then go in RSA1, source system, replicate datasources...
Then go to the infosource page, create a new infosource, assign a source system and then you will see a list of available datasources...here you have to see your new one, choose it, manage the transfer structure/rules...
    That's all!
    Hope it helps!
    Bye,
    Roberto
...and please don't forget to reward the answers...it's THE way to say thanks here !!

  • How to run setup for new datasources without breaking old datasources?

    Hi,
I am wondering how to install some more data sources (2LIS_05_Q0NOTIF, 2LIS_17_10NOTIF and 2LIS_18_10NOTIF) without breaking the delta mechanism for other data sources when I start to use the new datasources.
I have installed some QM cubes (0QM_C04, -05, -08 and -11) and delta loads run every night.  Now I want to add two more cubes (0QM_C02 and -03). The new cubes use datasources that are not yet available.
If I now activate the needed datasources, delete the content of the setup tables again and run 'Application-Specific Setup of Statistical Data' for 'Quality Management', 'Plant Maintenance' and 'Service Management', I am afraid that I will re-initialize the delta queue for the datasources that are already in use... In other words: I am afraid of breaking all datasources in application 05, 17 and 18...
I cannot find documentation addressing this problem. Any input, anyone?
    Best regards,
    Christian Frier

    Hi all,
if I understand you all correctly, I can use the following plan:
    0) Wait until no documents are posted on the R/3 side.
    1) Run the delta loads and check that the queues are empty (RSA7 and LBWQ).
    2) Delete the setup tables.
    3) Run the 'Application-Specific Setup of Statistical Data'
    4) Create and execute infopackages for initial dataload (for the new datasources).
    5) Create and execute infopackages for delta loads      (for the new datasources).
    6) Run the infopackages for delta load from the 'old' datasources without running a new initial dataload.
So basically 6) is the step I worry about.
That is that I can start to use 2LIS_05_ITEM, 2LIS_17_ITEM and 2LIS_18_ITEM without breaking the delta sequence for 2LIS_05_TASK, 2LIS_17_TASK and 2LIS_18_TASK.

  • New datasource does not get copied to oc4j-config directory

Today I created a new data source (jdbc/BLUETEST) in my projects data-sources.xml file and assigned it to all of my beans (that used to be assigned another datasource). After rebuilding the project and starting up the application, I got an error that said that there was no datasource jdbc/BLUETEST. Apparently, the new datasource had not been copied to the jdev/system9.0.5.0.0.1375/oc4j-config/data-sources.xml file. I copied the info manually and the app server is booting ok now.
    Is this a bug?
    Rudi.

Thanks Richard for the note.  Can you please provide details on the rfc?  We were wondering of creating a BADI and calling the same using a process chain through BPC DM.  How is this different from rfc?

  • Cannot see Database Views for a new Datasource

I need to bind some text fields to a Oracle Database View (not a Database Table, I can see them fine).
If I drill down into the Oracle Datasource, I don't see any of the required views.
Although the schema I am using do not own these views, I have a public synonym set up for the view. The schema I am using do have access to SELECT on the view.
Do anyone know if Creator will recognize these Oracle synonyms for the view? Or even better, does creator recognzie tables through Database Links?
    Ritchie

    >
    I'm using the jt400 driver w/ an AS400 DBI'm guessing that's the issue.
    try this:
select your data source and right-click "view data".
    Enter the special undocumented query
    getmetadataand run.
This show the schema/table/view/etc metatdata returned by the db/driver.
    Check the output section for getTables(null, null, "%", new String[] {"VIEW"}
    Any rows?
    If not, try another driver.
If there are VIEW rows, then it's a Creator bug - those bastards! :)

  • Database structure changed. Mapping Crystal reports to new datasource

There are several crystal reports that need to be remapped to a new database we have in place. The data structure has quite changed. I started using the 'Set datasource Location' option to map the new database fields to existing fields in the report. The problem shows up when trying to map fields from multiple tables to existing fields in the report from a single table. To elaborate, the old database structure has only one table used for a report and the new database structure has these same fileds coming from two different tables. The 'Set datasource Location'  option is leting me map the existing table used in the report to only one report. Is this how this functionality works or am I missing something. Please advise the best way to do this mapping.
    VJ

    hi VJ,
when you're dealing with reports where the data source can change along with the number of tables or the table names or the field names etc. then this is a method that you can design with to avoid issues associated with datasource changes.
you can also change existing reports to use this formula only method but of course there's a bit of work involved in changing reports vs. designing them like this from the ground up.

  • NOT specify new DataSource for every new stored procedure?

I'm in a solution where I'm having multiple reports, and I want to create my reports one at a time, create a stored procedure for it, then create a report for that stored procedure, then go on to the next report in the same way.  The problem is that
in Visual Studio, the DataSource does not update to recognize the new stored procedure, so I have to keep creating a new data source each time.  Is there any way around this so I don't have to create a million data sources?

    Hi jiwakersm,
I will answer your questions one by one:
    Report Builder vs Report Designer:
    • Report Builder is available in two versions: stand-alone and ClickOnce. The stand-alone version is installed on your computer by you or an administrator. The ClickOnce version is installed automatically with SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS)
and downloaded to your computer from Report Manager or a SharePoint site integrated with Reporting Services.
    • Report Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio is a report authoring environment that is hosted in Microsoft Visual Studio.
    If we want to
create an .rdlc report file, we should use ReportViewer control in an application project or a Web site. If we want to open an .rdlc report file, we should open the project or web site in Visual Studio. Note that Report Builder and Report Designer are not
    included in Visual Studio.
As to the Report Data pane, we should click one report in the Solution Explorer, then select Report Data after clicking View button in the menu pane. The document said that “create a data source reference, and then select the new option.” means we should
create a shared data source in advance (we can create it in Solution Explorer), then use it as data source. If you are create .rdlc report in Visual Studio, we couldn’t create shared data source. But we can create one data source, then use it to create several
    reports in the same project.
    Hope this helps.

  • After Replicating New DataSource

We went to our Development box (r/3 side) and activated the new delta enabled 0Coorder_Attr. It created a transport that I moved to r/3 Q box. On the BW Development box I replicated the datasource. With the new 0cOrder_attr i had to adjust the transfer structure manually and activate mannualy. It also created a transport.
I then went to the Q bw box and replicated the datasource then moved my Bw transport to the bw Q box that should of changed and activated the tranfer rules and transfer structure but it did not.
Problem is the transfer structure is still inactive on the BW side.
Is there a way to activate this with a transport ?
    Thanks

    Hi Richard,
If your infosource is transported successfully and you replicated your data source in Q system, and then if you think that your infosource is not active the go to "se38"
and run the program "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL" give your source system and infosource name and say execute this will activate your trasfer structure and communication structure as you do not have direct ICON of activate in Q system.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Run a query on linked tables to create a new datasource

    Using Crystal XI
I have a report that draws from two data sources.  They can't be joined at the server side, but they are linked in Crystal Database Expert.
I can't figure out if Crystal gives me a way to write an SQL Query to run an aggregate function referencing both tables.  The results of this query would be the datasource for a graph in the report.  I'm wondering if Crystal gives me a way, maybe through subreports, to write the query I need.
    More concretely:
And I want to include in my datasource alarmId, Hour and the Maximum amount of calls received in any one hour for any one station (this maximum is to provide scale for a graph)
In one table nameed AlarmStartTimes I have data like
    Alarms
    AlarmID  Hour    Recipient
    Alarm1       8       Joe
    Alarm23  10      Mark
    Alarm60  7      Joe
    Alarm95  8      Linda
In another I have data like
    EELocation
    Recipient   Location
    Joe         Station1
    Mark         Station2
    Linda          Station1
So if I could just join my talbes at the server side I'd use a query like:
select *, max(select count(AlarmID) from Alarms, EELocation from Alarms Join EELocationo on Alarms.Recipient=EELocation.Recipient group by Hour, Location) AS  from Alarms
Anyway, that's probably got a syntax error or 4 in it, but you get the idea.
I can't group on the database side.  Since Crystal is able to link the two tables and successfully group them out by Location, it seems like there should be some way for me to run a query against the tables reflecting that existing link, but I can't see how to do it.
The reason I can't link on database side is that the data is in two databases, and it's not known what the location of the databases is at report-writing time.  The location of the databases gets set via the Crystal API when the report is launched from an application.

Since you have 2 datasource in the report you are limited on what you can use in crystal, such as crystal will not allow you to use sql expressions.

  • Database connection error | created a new datasource | web application

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy a J2EE web application on SAP Netweaver 7.0. I have to connect to a Oracle database schema (Not the default schema used by SAP). I am using Java and JDBC to make connections to the database.
In order to accomplish this, I created a new data source in Visual Admin. Referenced this in the web.xml and deployed the application. The application is deployed successfully, without any errors or warnings.
However, when ever the Java program connects and executes a prepared statement, I get this error in the database logs
bc.direct.DirectPreparedStatement#Java#com.sap.sql_0003#com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLResourceBundle#SQL error occurred on connection xxxx111:xxx:xxx: code=942, state="42000", message="ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    #solad011:pidb:PIUSER#SELECT "XMLVALUE" FROM "BC_DDDBTABLERT" WHERE "NAME" = ?#
In java code, there are no references to this table "BC_DDDBTABLERT". I am trying to execute a SQL select for entirely different table. Why I am I getting this error?

    Hi,
System copy NW 70 - Error in "export from java database" phase
I am doing system copy of BI7.0 (Abap+Java) stack, I am getting error in
"export from java database" phase as mentioned below.
When I tried to run the query mentioned in SAP Note 1120872: ,
    SQL> DELETE FROM BC_DDDBTABLERT WHERE NAME = 'CAF_GP_R3USRMPGCFG';
    DELETE FROM BC_DDDBTABLERT WHERE NAME = 'CAF_GP_R3USRMPGCFG'

    DELETE FROM BC_DDDBTABLERT WHERE NAME = 'CAF_GP_IF_CONTEXT'
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
I tried your Native_SQL also, but same error.
    Kindly help me on this.

  • Connection Pool Name Missing from Drop Down when Creating a New Datasource

    Hi All,
I'm running Weblogic Server 8.1. I've successfully created a connection pool for DB2 using the Non-XA JDBC driver from IBM (Version 7.1). When I attempt to create a datasource for this pool and un-check the "Honor Global Transactions" checkbox, the connection pool is missing from the dropdown on the next page of the wizard. If I check the checkbox, the connection pool appears in the list.
I experience this behavior on one instance of Weblogic Server, but not on another (I can see the pool whether or not the check box is checked).
Is there some setting on the connection pool that could cause this behavior?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

I would have you compare the JDBCConnectionPool entry
    between the two instances.

  • Configure new datasource,certain terms

    Hi all,
while configuring a new data source, i am confused by certain terms, would appreciate if anyone can shed some light.
    Under the connection pool settings:
    Maximum Capacity: 20
According to BEA online help, its the "The maximum number of physical connections that this connection pool can contain". What if 25 users are accessing the application to access the database?
    Capacity Increment: 2
According to BEA online help , its the "The number of connections created when new connections are added to the connection pool. When there are no more available physical connections to satisfy connection requests, WebLogic Server creates this number of additional physical connections and adds them to the connection pool." Does it mean if my maximum is 20, and there are 25 people using the database, weblogic will create 2+2+2 to connections to meet 25 connections?
    Shrink Frequency:900 seconds
When shrinking occurs, WL will shrink it to what number? 20( which is my maximum capacity?

What version of weblogic are you using?
If WLS has 25 execute threads, then no matter
how many users are talking to WLS, it will only
really be processing 25 of these users at a
given instant, and with typical JDBC applications,
the connection from a pool is obtained, used and
returned, all within the thread's processing of
the current request, so no mattr how many users
are talking to WLS, it really only needs 25 connections
in the pool. Add 1 extra for safety.
Never alter Capacity Increment. It is of no help,
    and might cause problems.
Shrinking will remove currently unused connections,
down to the initial capacity of the pool, or to the
    recently observed average needed capacity,
whichever is larger. Unless you have a pressing
need to close DBMS connections, I recommend
against shrinking. It wastes time when load comes
back, to remake connecitons it could have kept.

  • New Datasource with MBEWH table

    Hi,
I need to create a datasource based on a FM. The FM should retrive all the materials from MBEWH table for all the plants. It should basically retrieve the latest stock from MBEWH table.
Consider a material A is posted at year 2007 period 6 and 7 and its not posted in the following periods, it should take material A of year 2007 and period 7. If I retrive all the records, sort it and delete adjacent duplicates then it would be a performance issue, Since its a history table it will contain numerous records. If we use aggregate function also, then it also leads to performance problems. Is there any other way of proceeding with this issue? Is there any way to retrive the lastest stock from MBEWH table?
       Any inputs.

There are no other way to retrieve this data from MBEWH. You should have to write the Function module and give it your ABAP team with providing this inputs.
Put this data into z table. to avoid performance issue you can run this as Batch job and updated data will come in your table and then extract this data from your z table.
