The Verizon iPhone 4 has an additional slit in the antenna frame, near the top, on both sides. The change is clearly visible in the photo of the Verizon iPhone 4. The change was to make the antenna design more robust, and less susceptible to accidental signal attenuation. The change has nothing to do with the CDMA protocol. Will the change in the antenna frame be made to the AT&T Iphone 4? I do not know, and speculation whether it will or will not is against the forum's TOU.

The new full body design changed both the front and back pieces. The front now covers the upper and lower chrome bezel, making it a bit trickier to install. There is no longer the separate small lower bezel piece, but the home button piece is retained. The back no longer extends over the headphone jack and docking port, and has additional "flaps" to better cover the bezel corners. The corners are also now slotted, so they lay flat easier and don't crease. The back is significantly easier to install and covers the corners and chrome bezel better.
The front coverage only version is the same as the original. Instead of buying a separate back piece, to later make it full body, you now get a "full body upgrade" kit which replaces both pieces.

New to iphone and wonder how to stop old emails from uploading.
I'm new to iPhone. I'm just now really playing with the device and wan to clean out the old emails. Every time I delete 50, then an additional 50 download to the device. i have over 8000 emails on the server! i don't want all these coming to my iphone. how do i stop it? i only want the ones from today forward at this point.
tiaIf the account is a POP account, all messages that remain on the server will be downloaded as new unread messages when creating the account with a new or different email client - the iPhone's Mail client is no different than when creating an existing POP account with a new or different email client in this regard, and I'm not aware of a setting to download new messages received at the server from or after a designated date with any email client.
If the account is an IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account. -
Compatible: iPod car charger cable with new Verizon iPhone...Safe?
Compatibility between my iPod cable in the car which is connected to a radio interface in which I plug in/ charge/play my iPod AND my new Verizon iPhone. Will the cable in the car safely charge and 'read' my iPhone? I would hate to blow this thing up But if it is compatible, it saves me much aggravation.

Whether it will work or not depends on a few things.
The biggest factor is age of the radio interface. A lot of older interfaces aren't designed with the iOS devices in mind and so do not charge them properly or allow the user to control it. What kind of iPod are you using with your stereo right now?
You may find that you can play music but have no real control over the iPhone & it may not be charged, either. You shouldn't see anything harmful happen to your stereo or your phone, though.

How to I get music I purchased before the iCloud was created to show up on my new authorized iPhone? Right now I can only see the Apps I recently purchased on the actual phone but older music I purchased on my CPU using the same Apple ID doesn't appear.
Does any music show in the Purchased tab on the iTunes store app on your phone ? Music can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where it can be it will only appear whilst it remains in the store. Do you have your purchases on your computer and/or on a backup of your puchases so that you can sync them to your phone ?

How do I import contacts, photos, history, emails, etc from my old original iPhone to my my new 3G iPhone? I tried the "import SIM Contacts" on phone, but no luck.
Your contacts should be in Outlook or whatever program you sync your contacts to, Your photos should be in whatever folder you saved them in your computer, your e mails should be in your e-mail server, music should be on itunes.
Everything should be on your computer if you are syncing as you should be.
When you sync you new iphone you will sync it to the same information, that is on your computer. -
How can i exchange for the new design
Last year my sister purchased a ipod shuffle 3rd gen, for my 10 yr old daughter. She bought it from Target and spent $145.00 at that time. Shortly there after i became aware apple had replace this 3rd gen shuffle with a new design. One that is more user friendly, especially for my 10 yr old. I have to say we have been very disappoint with her ipod for several reasons.
1. there is no face so you cant see what your doing
2. you must memorize the amount of clicks in order to operate it.
3. we have only been able to upload new music to her ipod once since she got it a year ago. Even with online tech support,reading online forums,owner manuals, help from family and friends. To no avail.
She has it still in the box neatly packed away. Its used as a show piece on her dresser to show that she has an (ipod). Neadless to say she does not use it,does not like it mainly because there is no display panel which make it very difficult for her to function.
So how can i exchange/replace the old design ipod shuffle generation 3 for the new design.Try disabling your firewall and try again.

Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.

Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream. -
I have restored my new replacement iPhone from my latest iCloud back up. However my camera roll pictures are not displaying. Its not saying I don't have any pictures in my camera roll, it has all the spaces for them, but it just shows empty white squares? How do I get my pictures back? Thanks!
It's difficult to say whether it's stuck or not as the time to restore a backup can depend on many factors. You'll have to decide when you think it's just not continuing. You could try turning the phone off (hold the power button until you see the red off slider, then slide to turn off), then back on to see if that would get it going again.
When you're convinced it's just hung, you can go back to settings and tap Stop Restoring iPhone to stop the restore. You'll then have to try restoring it again (Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup). Be sure it's connected to your charger and wifi while it's restoring the backup.
You might also try the approach posted here by ezjules: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. This seems to have worked for some people who had trouble restoring their photos from an iCloud backup. -
Missing Features in the new design preview
So today Microsoft officially unveiled the new design preview for Skype for Windows desktop that we have been able to test on a field trial basis or by manipulating the URL to download.
Apart from the new design, this new version also brings a change in philosophy regarding group conversations and a very impactful removal of features for them.
At first I want to talk about an issue that has been part of the mobile releases for a long time, the removal of names for group conversations. In the good old Skype world, every group conversation had two parts to display the members of a group and the context of conversation that was happening in them, the name and the topic. With the new design though, the option to name your groups is gone. This means that instead of showing a familiar, easy to remember and recognize name, the contact list now shows the topic, a often (maybe?) changing and not representing the members of said conversation, as the name.
My favorite example on why this is bad is the following: Let's say you have more than one group of friends (hey, it happens) on Skype to talk about different things. One is your football club and the others are the chess dudes. You obviously name those groups "The sports guys" and "The chess guys" for your own sanity and ease of use in identifying them in your list. Both groups often have a similar topic set, mostly the date of the next meeting.
Now, with the new design, you are left with two entries in your contact list, both conveniently named "Next meeting at 5pm". Now what? Which one is which? No way to know at a simple glance. You really have to open the group and look at the members list to really know.
As a person who has been using Skype for group conversations for years and years, this really grinds my gears and I have been trying to get the developers attentions in varius threads on this forums, for once in the Android section (http://community.skype.com/t5/Android/Wrong-behaviour-in-group-conversations/td-p/1968699) where this problem has existed for a looong time and over more private channels and app feedback.
Now the only time when you can change the name of a group is when you create it. While in a previous version of the design preview, the option was still called "Change name..." as it is in the Android version, the latest release now correctly shows "Change topic.." because that is what it does, good job! I'd still like to be able to change the name independently from the topic.
The next bug is minor and about group conversation pictures, in the new design, it's no longer possible to add pictures to the header of groups, they just don't show up when you add them also the existing ones don't show in the contact list.Stanzilla wrote:Now the only time when you can change the name of a group is when you create it. As I can't edit, I need to mention that I was kinda wrong about that, it reverts to showing the topic instead of the name in the contact list after a while, maybe after it syncs? Anyway, it still does it wrong. -
