New Device Detected Notification

all day long i get this New Device Detected Notification box that pops up in the lower right of my screen. It offers; check the device or remind me later. All i want to do is turn the darn thing off so i never see it again. Anyone know how to do this? i can find a way.

There is a menu option at the top for the status of the network. If you go into this there will be a list of alerts that you can clear, which should solve the problem

"New USB device detected" - large black window comes up when I plug an external HD or NetTalk device. At the bottom it says "hold alt to remember the choice". Im running Parallels 6.0, so give me the option to choose. I held alt and chose Mac. Now I want to choose Windows 7 - BootCamp, but Can't. How do I reset my choice, so it always asks me?
    Thanks for your help!

  • New device notification

    Hi @ all.
I am totally new to SCCM so forgive me if I am asking something stupid.
I would like to code a script that would send me an email with details of every new device that shows up in "Devices". Is there some kind of event in some log that I could attach a trigger to? I was searching through event logs and I couldn't find
any "new-device-on-board" type of event. What is a proper way to do something like that in SCCM (if it is possible in the first place)?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
How about monitoring table changes in database?(I haven't tried this.)
You could have look at "change data capture" and "change tracking" features in SQL.

  • My iPod touch was destroyed -- do I need a new screen or new device?

    Hello.
My 4th Generation iPod touch was run over by a car. The screen has been completely destroyed, with the display now only showing white with several black splotches and there is no detectable touch response, but when plugged in by USB and opened in iTunes, the data on the device seems to be intact. My question is: could my iPod be sent to Apple to have the screen repaired, or do I need new device because the damage is irreversible? (I'm not worried about losing my data here, everything is backed up, I'm looking for whatever option has the monetary advantage.)
I've attached these images in case they can be of any help.

Looks pretty bad.  If you have an Apple Store nearby, you should make an appointment at the store's Genius Bar, and take it there for a hand-on evaluation.  Certainly, do not pay anything close to $200 for repair, since you can get a refurb current gen iPod touch (that runs iOS 7) for $219

or $189 for the model without the backside camera

  • DV7 - Error 03F0 - No Boot Device Detected - Passes both Memory and HDD Test

    Hi there,
My DV7 will not boot up at all.  When powered on, I see the HP loading screen briefly, then into "dos type" font saying "No Boot Device Detected - Error 03F0"
I have run both the memory test and hard drive test from the diagnostic menu and both come back ok.
    A little more history on the Device/Problem;
2 months ago it was shutting itself off due to overheating - After a good cleaning, the temps cooled down enough that it was no longer shutting off.
I am currently in India, plugging directly into outlets (230v power) using an adapter.  10 days ago there was a small spark at the outlet leaving a very small spot on one of the prongs of the adapter.  There was no power flicker, and it wasn't a surge, just almost like a bad connection sparking.  This "spark" seemed to have killed my charger immediately.  I used the battery until nearly dead, purchased a new charger, but when I returned and tried the new charger, it would not charge, nor power on.  When plugged in, at this point, the power/charging light on the side was lit, but not on the front.  I used a pin to open the CD drive, and the front light lit up, but it still would not power on.
I took it to a repair shop here in India, and they managed to get it so it would power on (not sure how), but that has only brought me to where I'm at right now with the Error.  They said "It worked, and then we tested again and it didn't work and now it no work".
My current BIOS edition is F.46.
Essentially I'm wondering if I'm screwed - and if I'm not, then what can I do to trouble shoot/fix it?
P.S.  Finding parts in India that are specific to my computer will be near impossible with the technology differences.  Also, dealing with local techs is extremely difficult so I'll need to know
P.S.S.  I just tried to power it on again to double check the accuracy of my post and it will not power on, nor can I get the CD drive open again....

Is the unit still in warranty?
Based on the description of the behavior, it does sound a hardware issue beyond the hard drive.
Was the AC adapter that was purchased an HP adapter? I know you said it is difficult to get the right parts in your area, but I want to confirm if it is an HP adapter or aftermarket.

  • Solution Centre in Win 8.1 keeps runs device detection on every use

New Win 8.1 notebook. Connected the OfficeJet Pro 8500A A910g by USB. Windows detected and loaded printer driver, also loaded network driver as printer connected via wireless.  Disconnected USB cable. Downloaded and installed HP full software package. It went through device detection, wirless, could not find printer, gave it the IP address, it then found it OK. Went through all steps including opening an HP web page to sign up for something. It created desktop shortcut and enabled scan over network. Can scan from device to PC, works just fine. Next time I wanted to scan from PC, double click on desktop shortcut, UAC pops up, say OK can make changes. Goes through device detection agian. Eveything works. Closed Solution Centre. Re-opened it and same thing. Every time I want to use the Solution Centre I have go through teh detection process.  I tried running the .exe directly from Windows Explorer so there are no switches in the command line, no change. There must be a fix.

    Hi,
Please try following the steps below and let me know if that helps:
From the Control Panel go to View devices and Printers.
Right click the HP Officejet Pro 8500A and select Remove Device, next unplug the USB,
from the start menu's search bar type %temp%. open the temp folder and then open the newest installation folder which starts with 7z, then open the Utils folder.
For a 32 bit OS open the X86 folder, open the X64 folder for a 64-bit OS.. follow those steps if you aren't sure about your OS type:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03666764&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
Run the RemovePreinstalledDrivers file and allow it to reach 100%
Go 2 folders up back to the 7z folder and locate the installation MSI file:
search for *x86.msi or *x64.msi, depanding on your OS type.
Right click the larger MSI file out of the 2 resutls, then click on Repair. if you get a prompt that it is only valid for installed software select Instal instead of repair.
Reboot your PC if prompted to do so.
Open the Officejet Pro 8500A software and follow the steps to reconfigure the device, then check for any difference.
Please let me know if that helps,
    Shlomi

  • Connecting imac to macbook. "No devices detected"

I'm attempting to share screens betwee my MacBook and my iMac.  I'm using a 18Pin DIGITAL SINGLE LINK DVI-I CABLE to conect them.  Both devices are reading "No devices detected".  Any suggestions for my next step?

The pre-2006 iMacs this forum covers do not support Target Display Mode. This Apple article shows the iMac models that do offer such support:

My 2010 iMac (pre-ThunderBolt with Mini-dispaly) connects nicely to my ThunderBolt=equipped MacBook Pro with a standard Mini DisplayPort cable. ThunderBolt connections have the same form factor and pins as mini-displayport.

  • Bluetooth device detection

    Hi everyone!
(I am newb at Java, and im looking for a very simple application (i think), but im not sure how to find what im looking for, i tried sourceforge.net, but i dont know how to run the java source files.)
What im looking for is an app for PC that searches for bluetooth devices in the area, and logs their MAC address into a file (preferably .xml)
It should continuously search for devices, and update the .xml file everytime it finds a new device, or an old one dissapears, so i always know what devices are in the area at this excact moment.
Have you ever heard of such a thing, or do you simply have some good keywords for me to use :) Either way i would be very thankful for your help! :)
    Cheers,
    Lars

Ok, here is my code a bit more formatted:
    public void run() {

    local = LocalDevice.getLocalDevice();
    //get discovery agent
    agent = local.getDiscoveryAgent();
//start a new Bluetooth discovery inquiry
    agent.startInquiry(DiscoveryAgent.GIAC,this);
//we lock the thread and wait the end of the current inquiry

  • Adding a new device emulator

    hi,
currently i am using the wireless toolkit from sun to run my progs.. but sideby side i have also started using borland jbuilder enterprise 2005..
now my question is actually regarding jbuilder.. in order to add a new device to wtk all i did was place the device folder in the wtklib/devices folder and that particular device emulator would be added to the devices installed list in wtk.. but i am trying hard to install a new device precisely the series 60 1.2. emulator to jbuilder but i am unable to do so.. any idea how this is done.. i have tried putting the device folder in the Borland\JBuilder2005\j2mewtk2.2\wtklib\devices folder.. but this does not detect the newly added device..
please any help would be appreciated

If you are unable to make the changed on your router using the Network magic software, then login to the setup page of your Router manually and secure your wireless network.

  • How can I turn off that Maveriks at iMac is scanning continuously for new devices?

Hi, I have a iMac (early 2008) updatet to 10.9 Maveriks with Bluetooth mouse, mousepad en keyboard. I listen at home to music with a Onkyo TX-NR626 A/V receiver (with Bluetooth) via my iMac, iPad and android device.
When I startup or wake up my iMac, Maveriks is always staring to scan for new Bluetooth devices?!. Than every time, my receiver (also when the receiver is turned off) is turning on and change to Bluetooth mode.
I can't turn off the Bluetooth function at my Onkyo TX-NR626 A/V receiver. With Mountain Lion, I didn't had this problems.
I want to turn of the continuously scanning procedure after startup or wake up on my iMac.
    My question is:
How can I turn off that Maveriks is scanning continuously for new devices?
How can I turn off the detection mode of my iMac?

Kinda funny... I found this article while searching for an answer to my question:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93610
At the very end of the article, it mentions the "bug" that only one app on Windows can play direct sound at a time. That's exactly the "feature" I'm looking for on the Mac. Funny how one person's bug is another's feature.

  • Unsupported wireless network device detected

    Hi guys,
I had to change the motherboard of my DV9420US; I bought a new motherboard from Megabyte Trading, the part number was the same (444002-001) and they told me it was an HP piece. However, after the technician replaced it, the following error appears when booting and forces me to shut down:
"104-unsupported wireless network device detected. System halted. remove device and restart".
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
It starts to be disappointing: I have already spent over 400 bucks to repair the original motherboard first and buy a new one after, with the result that my laptop does not work yet.
    Thanks.

Remove the wireless card and boot into the notebook. Once into windows you will have to hardwire the notebook into an internet connection and go to HP.com. Place your PN number in the search and go to the software and driver downloads find the BIOS header and download the most update BIOS and flash the BIOS for the notebook. Once this has completed replace the WLAN and boot it back up, should fix the issue.

  • [SOLVED] Dell XPS 15 l502x + GT 540M + Bumblebee: No devices detected

    Hello everyone,
I have Dell XPS 15 l502x laptop with GT 540M graphics card with optimus support. I want to enable optimus with bumblebee, but no matter what I do I just can't make it work. I'm already start thinking that this laptop is not supported....
I've installed the following packages from AUR to support optimus on my laptop:
    bumblebee
    nvidia-bumblebee
    nvidia-utils-bumblebee
Also, I am using my own custom configured kernel, uname -a shows:
    Linux milktea 3.2.13-1-abs #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 28 14:16:29 CST 2012 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2760QM CPU @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
The only changes from ArchLinux default kernel is CPU architecture (I changed to Core 2 Duo and later instead of default i686) and support for PAE.
When I run optirun glxgears I get this output:
[ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: [XORG] (EE) Failed to load module "mouse" (module does not exist, 0)
[ERROR]Aborting because fallback start is disabled.
    And Xorg.8.log is:

    I have bumblebee, dkms-bbswitch, nvidia-utils-bumblebee, nvidia, virtualgl
    My bumblebee.conf is:
    # Configuration file for Bumblebee. Values should **not** be put between quotes
    ## Server options. Any change made in this section will need a server restart
    # to take effect.
    [bumblebeed]
    # The secondary Xorg server DISPLAY number

    # for X to be ready is too long and don't need power management at all.
    KeepUnusedXServer=false
    # The name of the Bumbleblee server group name (GID name)

    # Card power state at exit. Set to false if the card shoud be ON when Bumblebee

    # The default behavior of '-f' option on optirun. If set to "true", '-f' will

    # The Driver used by Bumblebee server. If this value is not set (or empty),
    # auto-detection is performed. The available drivers are nvidia and nouveau

I haven't edited any xorg.conf files whatsoever, so they are just the default ones. Here is /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia:
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "Layout0"
    Option "AutoAddDevices" "false"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"

    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    Option "NoLogo" "true"
    Option "UseEDID" "false"
    Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP"
    EndSection
What are the full relevant sections in lspci -vvnn saying? your grepping removed the verbose bits. e.g. when my nvidia card is off, it gives:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 540M] [10de:0df5] (rev ff) (prog-if ff)
    !!! Unknown header type 7f
but different when it's turned on.

  • Atheros ar5b95 generates 104 Error: incompatible wireless device detected

The intel wireless card failed in CQ61 - 425SA. So i ordered an Atheros AR5B95 that is listed as compatible here at the HP site and at the manufacturer's site.
Unfortunately, the machine won't boot with the card inserted, generating error message 104: Incompatible Wireless Device Detected.
I had a look at the BIOS but it's up to date (F.23) and there appears to be no place in the setup menu where I can indicate a different wireless card. I tried installing new drivers but, of course, if the machine won't book I can't install the drivers for the card.
The card is imprinted with the AR5B95 identity and Atheros branding, so I presume it's genuine.
Any  help would be greatly appreciated.

hp implement whitelisting of wifi cards in BIOS, your original intel would of had hp part number that matched with allowed numbers in the BIOS thus boot without 104 error > your current atheros is a generic atheros card & the BIOS sees no matching part number so flags 104 error.
You have 2 choices, 1: buy a correct hp branded card that is supported by your BIOS , 2: install a no whitelist BIOS so you can use any wireless card .

You may need tape pin 20 on the atheros card with some scotch tape & use windows 7 mobility centre to toggle wifi on/off

  • Can SCCM 2012 alert me when new devices are found on the network?

I have a single SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 server running on Windows Server 2012.  I use it primarily for Endpoint Protection and Windows Updates.
I have 18 locations in my organization.  I am having a problem with a particular remote site buying their own IT equipment (computers, switches, access points, etc.).  I was wondering if it is possible for my SCCM server to e-mail (alert) me whenever
it detects a new device on the network?  Or should I be looking at
SCOM for something like this?  If SCCM will not do this, can anyone suggest some freeware that might do what I am looking for?
    Thanks!

The answer to that would be ... it depends.
If the computers are domain joined and your AD discovery method is enabled they will end up in the ConfigMgr database. From that point onward you could create a custom reports that lists these systems. You can subscribe to the report to get it through email.
For network devices you could also do something similar but initially you would have to enable network discovery in ConfigMgr.
Highly impractical IMO. I seriously doubt this could ever work in a production environment of any real size.
In addition.... Network discovery in CM is nasty!
