New document - changing the displayed unit in width/height?

Hi all,
Sorry for this basics question relating to InDesign CS5...
When creating a new document, with a custom size, the default size is showing as XXp00 - I don't know what the 'p' means nor it's relation to other units such as cm or mm.
Is there a way for the default to be cm, or mm?

XXpYY is the established convention for displaying picas (6th of an inch) and points (12th of a pica). 3p0 is 3 picas,0 points, or half an inch. 13p6 is 13 picas, 6 point, or 2.25 inches.
You can type any units you like in any dialogue or panel and InDesign will handle the conversion to the currently displayed units. If you want a page 14 inches wide, just type 14" and InDesign will accept that and display it as 84p0.
You cannot change the default units while a modal dialogue (like New Document) is open. You can change the default units in Preferences. You can also change the displayed units in the current document by right-clicking on the ruler. Each ruler remembers its own units, so either change the units for both rulers or right-click on the intersection of the rulers at the top left of the window.

I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!

Anything before CC is not high-DPI compatible. Feel free to continue to experiment with your system settings.

The scale in Maps follows your regional settings in System Preferences > Language & Region > Region.
Selecting United States, for example, will use English units (feet and statute miles).
There may be other methods I'm unaware of.

Change the displayed properties of the StandardSearchResultRender

Hey,
I would like to change the displayed properties in the StandardSearchResultRender of the SearchResultSet
(SearchResultLayoutSet --> StandardSearchResultRenderer --> Displayed Properties).
I need a new Link such as Displayed Name of a document (rnd:displayname(contentLink/[1;2-3]/alignTop/space-right=30)).
For this i made two new properties witch called "newdisplayname" and "newlink". In the StandardSearchResultRendere I added the line "rnd:newdisplayname(newlink/[5;2-3]/alignTop/space-right=30)" in the displayed properties. When I apply my changes the Portal shows me an error (The current configurable is invalid ). I don't know why it's invalid.
Can anybody help me? How can I made a new link with an reference? Thanks.

In general, yes, but one should have heavy experience if starting to modify SAP code.

There are different classes, one example would be com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.resource.cm.ResourceRenderer (that is almost supported to "modify", at least it is supported to create your own ResourceRenderer)

No, absolutely not. This is really deep-digging into foreign code which in general is not supported at all by SAP.

For the people that wants to change the display

i have been bothered with the booklet display since the very firsy day I bought it... there is some kind of noise very noticeable when looking at white backgrounds (do you have this or is it only mine?), at first I thought it was only humidity behind the glass, but i discovered that the display is just like that...kind of cheap.
i was very annoyed by the idea of having a dirty display so I opened the display to try to clean it, to my surprise, the display is like that, with noise! well, so im thinking on changing the display to some crispy clear one but i dont know how to begin with, i just know the size of the display and that's it. maybe someone here can tell me what to look at when buying a new one? will i need new drivers?, what about conections and stuff?

ps. if you want to try it yourself and open the display you can try it...you just need a prying tool and pass it all around the plastic sheet, in the space between the rubber band and the sheet, you have to pry it deep, since there is like 5mm think of sticky pads all around. it is very sticky, you will hear the glue unstick as soon as you slide the tool around...once you have pryied out one half, then the other half of the sheet will go easily.
you can also pop out the top lid from here, there are some hooks that can just push out and the glossy top lid will open.
you can put everything back without issues, the glue will still hold the sheet.

I am feeling exactly the same way as dcastrog does!

Anyway, if this is not the case, "the "haze" is an anti-glare coating, designed to minimise the reflections visible on the front of the glass" is far from making any sense. We all know what a "ok" anti-glare lcd should look like, but not this way.
Guys who also have a booklet please tell us your feelings about the lcd~

Changing the display names of objects in the JTree

Is there a possibility of changing the display name of the nodes in JTree? I mean not the actual name of the JTree object, but only the display name? Is there any method available for that?

If your tree node object has application-specific complexity, you should define a custom tree node class and a renderer for that. Or if you just could use DefaultMutableTreeNode, call setUserObject() method with a new String.

Finally we fixed.
The prob is that we referring two different version of jquery files in master page and page layout.
We corrected by referring same version of jquery files in both pages

Changing the display of the lock message text at EFI Preboot log in

I waited until OS X 10.10.1 was released to upgrade from OS X 10.9.5. With previous versions of OS X that implemented FDE via FileVault, the lock message I created could be read quite easily when the EFI Preboot log in was displayed. However, with OS X 10.10.1, the message is displayed as text that is either a very light gray or white over a very light gray background making the message incredibly easy to miss and exceptionally hard if not impossible to read.
I would like to make the lock message easy to read once again as it contains information that a nice person can use to contact me if for some reason I were to lose my mind and forget my MBP someplace (I am not really one who would do such a thing, but I prefer to be safe than sorry). As it stands now, they could log into the managed guest account and I could get lucky with Find My Mac, but I would like the additional possibility that someone would be nice and let me know how I can get my computer back by making use of the lock message.
I already talked to Apple Care about this, and, since my question was not one that had a scripted answer, I got not help there, and I really do not feel like going to a Genius for help as that would suck up a lot of time. I have also reviewed some configurations in the usual locations but have seen nothing to address the text properties of that lock message (color, shadow, etc.).
Does anyone know of a way to change the display style of the lock message on the EFI Preboot log in screen for OS X 10.10/10.10.1? Having to get dirty with configuration settings via CLI, Xcode, et al would be just fine with me. If no answers any time soon, I will just file a new Bug.

Yes we did run LT04 and it does encounter that same error message after clicking the Stock Removal button. But eventually error msg will be removed by entering the value at the Storage Unit Type field because it directly fills in LTAP-LETYP.
We have resolved that the function module will not really fill the desired Storage unit type therefore TO background creation is not feasible in our scenario (non-SU managed transfer to SU-managed storage type). And I found this thread too: http://scn.sap.com/thread/1947358
So issue is still open but we have considered of changing the process since this is still just a new scenario for us.

You can't change the display in the Mail app, if you are holding the iPad in landscape orientation then the left-hand third will be for navigation, and the right-hand two-thirds will be an email. If you hold the iPad in portrait orientation then the navigation section becomes a drop-down section.

Change the display of the multiple Table items using a single Drop-down

I have created a Web Template in BEx WAD (BW 3.5) with 4 Tables assigned to 4 dfferent Queries. Now I want to change the display of the all the Four Tables based on the selection of display properties chosen in a single Dropdown item. The properties to be selected in the dropdown are like changing the Alternate style display of Rows, Suppress Alternate Style, Display only 30 Rows or 60 Rows.
Please help me in writing the script necessary to pass the command from the dropdown to all the Tables to get the desired output.

I tried using that option but again since we cannot give custom options in a drop-down,
I created a Form with a drop-down list of options like Suppress Result Rows, Suppress alternate style of rows, Display only 30 Rows, Display only 100 rows .. and so on.
Now I am able to change the display of my first table by selecting the options in the drop-down list. But my intention is to apply that selection to Multiple Tables.
How can I achieve that?

I am unable to play a downloaded HD movie from iTunes. SD movies play OK. An error popped up saying something about the display not suitable for HD movies but now all I get is a blank window. I have tried changing the display resolution to no avail.

I have sownloaded an HD movie from iTunes store and when I attempted to play it on my Windows 7 PC a error message popped up saying something about the display not being compatible for HD movies. I have tried changing the display resolution several times but it didn't help. Now it just comes up with a blank screen when I attempt to play it. SD movies work fine. I have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Apparently the display is required to be HDCP compatible to view HD movies in iTunes. My display isn't so this is my problem. I contacted Apple support and they have agreed to credit me for the HD movie and I have now downloaded the SD version.
