New Document presets

How do I copy New Document presets from cs6 to cc?

I am constantly losing my CS4 Indesign page presets. I did the define and stored the files. Today, I lost them again, so went to load my saved files, but only one preset saved. Not sure if it was the first preset saved or the last. Do you have to save for every document preset you make? I would think this would all be on one file. I am going to try again, just incase I forgot to save it correctly.

  • Location of "New Document" Presets

Hi — can anyone tell me where the "New Document" presets are located on Mac OS X?
    They all disappeared last night…
I've been running a system to sync my office ID prefs with my home ID prefs and I have a feeling that has something to do with it…

Yes, if you were making them but not saving them as .dcst files in any specific folder, then when you reset or replaced preferences you did lose them.

  • HELP: Illustrator CS2 New Document Presets

I frequently use illustrator for a variety of page layouts and different projects. My problem is that the list of preset document sizes in the "New Document" dialog is not much help to me, it contains all the wrong paper sizes and I would like to change that.
Does anyone know a way to edit this list so I can have my own presets available each time I create a new document?

Look up Templates in the online help.

  • Copy New Document Presets from CS4 to CS5.5

I had a number of document presets saved in InDesign CS4 and just realized that I don't know how to copy them from CS4 to CS5.5 so I don't have to recreate them again (which is what I've done in previous upgrades). I haven't found anythng that helps with the name or location of the presets. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!

  • How to delete a document preset

I created many document presets whilst opening a new document, but I can't figure out how to delete them, nor can I find the folder in the preset folder.
I know it's something simple but just can't get it done.
    I'm on a windows 7 64 bit if it makes a diff.
    Thanks in advance.

There are two different set of presets. Since you mentioned the presets that you made yourself when opening new documents, please follow the instructions below:
    Go to File > New
This opens the new document dialog box. Click on the Preset tab, as shown below.
Within the new document presets, I select a preset I had made earlier, but now I do not need.
Now with that custom preset selected, I can now press "Delete Preset", as shown below.
Selecting "Yes" allows for the deletion.
Now, there are also Presets that Photoshop itself has, and you can also delete those.
Go to Edit > Presets > Preset Manager
This opens up the preset manager and you can select the preset type to find the preset you want to delete.
By pressing "Delete" you can delete presets.
I hope this helped to answer your question. Please post back with any further questions.

  • Ps CS6 Action problem: New document created with "Preset: Clipboard" is misnamed

    Ps CS6 v13.0.1
    OS X 10.6.8
In an Action, File > New with "Preset:  Clipboard" ignores the specified document name and uses one of the following names when the clipboard definitely does hold valid content:
    1. The name that was applied by the previous invocation of File > New in a session.
    2. No name if Action is run before File > New has been used in current session.
Only when the clipboard has no valid content will the newly created document be given the specified name.

The Color Profile seems to work differently between CS5 and CS6.   In CS5 when I use menu File>New and there is something in the clipboard I see Preset clipboard as the dedault setting and see my current Photoshop color setting profile set in as the color profile. I pasted a ProPhoto selection into the clipboard.  When I do the same in CS6 and use File>New I see Preset Clipboard as the default setting but the color profile is not my Photoshop Color setting its ProPhotoRGB the same as I pasted into the clipboard.  However if I close CS6 down. Then start CS6 and do menu File>New I see Preset Clipboard as the default setting and the corol profile is my Photoshop color setting profile sRGB not ProPhotoRGB that in the clibpoard. So I feel the copy to clipboard from Photoshop triggers something internally to change the profile in CS6 it not something that gets set in the clipboard for the ProPhotoRGB override does not happen if I shut Photoshop down and restart it.
I think I like the CS6 change. Noel I wrote that for you I want you to know I don't think CS6 is all bad. This change should help one from getting profiles mismatches.  CS6 is still the buggest Phoshop around.  It does not stop working as smuch as it did befor the 13.0.1 update. And when it does there a chance Autosave may save the day. The last Photoshop stop working message I got from windows was when I tried to run a script.  There were no open document so nothing to recover. After terminating CS6 and restarting it the script work without a problem.

  • New document from clipboard preset

    Hi experts
it is possible to fix resolution 96 to 300 in new document from clipboard preset in photoshop cs2. I don't want to create new preset. want to edit the default clipboard preset.
    thanks in advance
    regards
    a r u l

Well, that Clipboard Preset will depend on the pixel dimensions of the image in Clipboard, and will vary, based on what is contained, therein. Photoshop is set up to read the image in Clipboard and allow you to create a New Document, based on those dimensions. It is dynamic.
Why are you opposed to creating a Preset? That could be invoked via the drop-down and will get you exactly what you want.
    Good luck,

  • Import gif onto new document

    Hi
    I am using cs4 trial.
    I already own MX
    In CS4.
Lets say i create a new document. I then import an animated
    GIF.
Once it is dropped onto the document, Suddenly i cannot move
it. It seems i can only move the image that is on the current frame
or state. It seems that all the images generated on all the frames
    are no longer linked.
There must be something i am missing.
I would like to build Animated GIF's from other animated
gif's. And build a library of units of gif animations.
    Any sugestions?
    Thanks
    Jerry C

First thing to try is deleting your Photoshop preferences and letting the application create new preferences files on re-launch.
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here.
    Mac OS
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • How do I create a new document in Photoshop CC and have it 300 dpi?

How do I create a new document in Photoshop CC and have it 300 dpi? I am doing digital scrapbooking and need to have my layout in Photoshop 12 x 12 so it is a scrapbook page and 300 dpi and I hope this doesn't sound stupid but I don't even know what dpi means.
    Thank you

    File>New
Set preset to print or US Paper
(typing width and height values will change the preset to custom)
    Set width to 12 inches
    set height to 12 inches
set ppi to 300 (should already be this if you used the print preset)
    Click OK

  • How do I set up new Document Profile with custom page sizes?

I see that different profiles have different sets of page sizes. I need a set of page sizes which I use often, and I would like to create a set of these sizes in a new profile, or at least somehow add them to the very minimal set of page sizes which can be selected when setting up a new document. Can this be done?

Thanks Jerron, I have done this but it only adds one document at one size to the list of presets. The list of sizes that comes with it is the same as the preset it was created from originally. What I would like to do is add to the list of sizes which comes with any one of the document presets or create a new one with a new list of sizes.

  • Name new documents from photoshop action?

I have created an action that generates two new documents from parts of the original, I have done this many times creating one but never creating two documents and for some reason both my new documents end up with the same name.
In my action when the first document is created the command looks like this:
    Make
    New: document
    Name: "PhotoPart1"
    Preset: "Clipboard"
For the second new document it looks like this:
    Make
    New: document
    Name: "PhotoPart2"
    Preset: "Clipboard"
But when I run the action both new documents are called "PhotoPart2"
Hope someone can help me figure out why or perhaps a way to rename a document from within an action
    Thanks!

              setSize(300,300);

  • Photoshop CS5 New Document - RGB as default

I work in the print industry, and do a fair share of copy + paste into a new photoshop document. My photoshop color settings are set as I need them (CMYK), but everytime I create a new document in Photoshop, it defaults to RGB, and I have to change it manually every time.
Does anyone know how I can get this to default to my chosen color settings (the Save Preset option when creating New Document also saves size dimensions, which does not work for me) ? Thanks!

Answer 2: There seems to be no way to uncheck size dimensions when saving the preset. Anything I try remembers dimensions.
Answer 3: We discussed using an action as a workaround if needed, but were hoping to solve them problem. It's just frustrating because under the Save Preset option, it says "Document profile will default to working space if not included in the saved preset." It's not behaving this way, in fact:
    A.  It does not default to the last options selected in the new dialog window either.
    B.  Also, it does not recognize color settings of my clipboard content (from Illustrator). It defaults to RGB in Photoshop whether I copy/paste from an Illustrator CMYK workspace or RGB workspace.

  • My Open 'New Document' function is not working properly on Illustrator CS5

When I open a 'New Document' a message pops up saying 'Print.ai' is not working, I wanted to open a custom 'New Document Profile' not print.  The custom option is grayed out and I cannot select it.  What do I do?

If you can create a new document by any means, then set up the document the way you want the preset to be, and save the file here:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS5/en_US/New Document Profiles
You might need to delete/replace the faulty Print.ai file.

  • Create settings for a new document

Here is my problem. When you create a new document in illustrator you have several options available in the new document window. You first can choose web/print/film… and then select a size (A4, A3 for the print, for example) in the second menu.
I am trying to make my own setting. Making it appears in the first menu is not hard. Just duplicate one of the predefined files and change the name and it appears in the menu presets. Done. But I didn't find a way of changing the sizes option (where I put the arrow). I cannot find anywhere in the predefined document a way of doing this  and to have my own predefined sizes in the second menu instead of the  standard A4, A3… sizes. Anyone might know how to achieve this settings ?  Thanks

Ignore the section whcih says "Letter" "A4" or whatever.  You can't change those headings.
To set your own chosen size, in the boxes which contain width/height dimensions just type in the sizes which you need, and adjust the units if necessary
Then the bit which says "Letter etc" will just say "Custom"
