New Drivers loose MP3 encoding.... You want me to pay for it

Hey,
Recently formatted my computer and reinstalled with the latest drivers for my sound card using the auto update service.
(Audigy 2 zs)
Was supprised to find the latest MediaSource 5 has lost the ability to encode MP3 Format. Was a bit bewildered to find that i'm supposed to pay extra?to have the privilage of having my MP3 encoding ability back.
Whats the story. This card was clearly sold as having this ability and now its been taken away and im told its got to be payed for to get it back. Just a?bit confused, sorry if this has already been posted.

To get the MP3 encode feature back. You need to install "Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2" software first which will add the MP3 encode feature. Then install the latest MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer software.
Next uninstall the "Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2" and the MP3 encode feature will remain in the latest MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer software.
The "Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2" software can be downloaded from the creative download webpage.
If you can't find the download, Follow these steps :
) Go to the creative support webpage.
2) Select "Sound Blaster".
3) Scroll down to the bottom of the webpage and select "If your product is not listed above, please click here".
4) Select your product "Audigy", "Audigy ZS" click next.
5) In the "manual selection" (on the bottom of the webpage), Select "Windows XP" click "Submit".
6) The "Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2" software will be listed under "Application" on page 2.
Goodluck!

  • HT203167 Hi, I've purchased a few films from itunes (and they are listed as Purchased in my account), but I can't find them on my computer or on my itunes account, and itunes wants me to pay for them again. How do I get around this?

Hi, I've purchased a few films from itunes (and they are listed as Purchased in my account), but I can't find them on my computer or my itunes account, and itunes wants me to pay for them again. How do I get around this? I've tried all the suggestions, and it's hugely frustrating.

If you are in the UK, and the film studio allows re-downloading, and you are signed in with the same account that you bought them with, then they might show under the Purchased link under Quinklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page for re-downloading - if they don't show then check to see if they are hidden (hiding and unhiding).
But you should be keeping and maintaining your own backup of your downloads and noy rely on being able to re-download any item as they are occasionally removed from the store by the content provider (film studio, tv company, record company etc).

  • Last summer I bought a music album from iTunes. I've already transferred all my orders from my units, but somehow iTunes wants me to pay for the same album again. When I try to add it to my wish list it simply tells me that I've already bought that item.

And I've already tried to search for downloadable purchases.
So fact is established, I've purchased this album before but iTunes does not recognize it.
    What to do?

Hey sorry for the late response but I've been out of town.  I can copy and paste the email responses if necessary or desired, and if it's fixed already this is a moot point anyway, but basically they kept asking me for the order numbers for the two songs I already bought from the specific album I was trying to complete, which I eventually gave them - along with telling them multiple times that the Complete My Album feature wasn't working for ANY album.  They gave me two free song codes to compensate me for the two songs I bought, and then told me to go and buy the album at full price, but the ENTIRE TIME they COMPLETELY ignored that I was telling them that this wasn't an issue with one album but was a larger, seemingly systematic issue that other people were experiencing.  Even after I got the song codes I emailed them back and said AGAIN that this wasn't an isolated feature, and they just sent me the link to the apple Feedback page (http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html) and told me to submit my complaint there.  So, technically, my issue was never really "resolved," in that they never fixed the Complete My Album feature that I am aware of - or even acknowledged that anything needed fixing, but I haven't tested it since Sunday.
If it's working for you, then hopefully they fixed it!  I've noticed they've updated to 10.4.1, but the notes don't indicate they're fixing anything about the Complete My Album feature, so I don't know.

I signed up for Skype premium with a annual plan paid in full. Yet it wants me to pay for calls. Can you assist or contact me at 413.770.1812 to change subscription.

What would you do for transportation if you drove your car into a tree and had to wait while it was fixed? You'd need to rent, borrow or buy another car, no? The same applies to your phone. This is not Apple's problem; if the service center does not have replacements in stock for immediate swap-out, then it's up to you to provide a backup device or do without.
If you're in a country where Apple provides direct service for iPhones, you may be able to call Apple support and arrange for advance replacement, where they send you the replacement phone and then you send back the old one. Apple offers such service in several countries, though you have to pay an extra fee for the service. If not, then you'll just have to wait for the service center to get in the replacement, and will have to arrange an alternative to use during that time.

  • I dropped my iPhone 4 & cracked its screen. Apple wants me to pay for replacement unit (I agree), turn in my old phone (??) & wait for 6 days (no problem). What do I do to access emails, Internet & make/receive calls during these 6 days?

I dropped my iPhone 4 & cracked its screen. I went to the service center to get it repaired. SInce it is not under warranty, i was willing to pay for repair charges.
They told me that the screen can not be repaired or changed, but they can replace my damaged set with an equivalent set, on payment of RM 760, roughly, 25-30% cost of a new one. I agreed.
    They told me to:
    1/ pay upfront
2/ leave my old set with them
3/ and the replacement unit will be delivered in 4-6 days.
I agreed on 1& 3 but not to leave my damaged set with them because it is still working and I don't have another spare phone with me, to serve me the 4-6 day waiting period.
THe service center guy told me that if I want a replacement, I have to agree to all 3 conditions and that I should buy another phone for 6 days. I told him that I constantly need email & Internet access, as part of my work responsibilities, so I can not do with a simple phone. It obviously, doesn't make sense to buy an expensive smart phone, go thru the trouble of transferring my data & mails & contacts - just for a week.
Unfortunately, all these logics fell on deaf ears & the service centre guy kept insisting on ALL of the above conditions.
I came back so flustered & upset.
I thought customer service was about solving problems & not creating hurdles for customers.
    what should I do?
    ANy advice?

  • 'genius' broke my macbook, wants me to pay for it.

I took to apple today so they could replace my wrist pad- its chipping. [I have a macbook, apple care, etc.. the screen cracked when it was 3 months old (bought it 8/06), the right hinge was broken (and is again now), I got both replaced for about 600 bucks. I go in today to get my keyboard/keypad etc replaced b/c they said it was still under warranty.. I had to wait when I got to the genius bar so I checked my email and other things (on my computer, in front of the tech, he used it to look up my serial # and then asked me to shut it down), he checked my comp, made me sign the papers, checked my warranty info and such and took it to the back for repair. He came back abt 45mins later and tells me there is 'errosion' inside my comp, prob water damage, that I should send it off to apple to have the diagnostic done etc.. I asked to see my comp, he brings it out totally gutted and shows me what he is talking abt (didnt look like anything to me, just a few spots on some curvy copper thing).. He tells me he's voiding my warranty.. I was confused b/c I havent spilled anything in it/he said it was obv working fine so i could leave it be, but should prob send it for a diagnostic. Also, I always have issues so I go in all the time and would have hoped they had seen this.
Long story short he goes to put my MB back together, another 45mins, comes back out and is doing whatever the genius bar does on their own MB pros, I decided to just make sure everything was okay, (gut feeling) and turn it on. It goes on (I could feel it vibrating/hear the hum) but nothing on the screen. I wait about 20secs and call him over. He hooked it up via firewire to another mb and says, well, basically, your comp is done, it was bound to happen due to the water damage (my comp is dry and he said ERROSION, which happens over time.. which means its BEEN dry whenever whatever happened).. I said, so you're telling me its a coincidence that you took it apart and now it wont work? Even though I was on it two hours ago? IN FRONT OF YOU? He tells me yes, that is what he is saying, if I stayed home the same thing would have happened, tonight, at the same time. Excuse my french, but I call BS. I ask to speak to the manager who gives me the same crap.
I AM ANGRY and WILL NOT pay for this.. If I had brought in a soggy computer/if it hadn't been working when they took it/if they didn't try and make me look like an a** ('it wouldve died the same minute regardless')/ if he hadn't told me that getting internal repairs done was optional, I'd be fine. But I'm angry and frustrated and have no notes or readings or anything school related but textbooks. They offered me 50% off for the tier 4 repair, but I dont want to pay a penny for this b/c I didnt do anything.. Do I have other options (to make them give me a new one/not pay for him breaking it)? Apple customer relations? Small claims? Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated b/c I'm sick of getting screwed over by these people and this is clearly not my fault.
    Thanks

    Hi vkd1121,
I think you have every right to be upset and disappointed when your investment and research tool(s) are not working. While I know it's incredibly odd that your computer failed, after it was reassembled, it's not as rare or random as you might think. I can't tell you how many times I've had a machine that I was working on for a coworker or customer and have completely die in front of me.
If they performed a full removal of the MLB (Main Logic Board) and noticed corrosion on the circuitry then it has been exposed to liquid, and not "just the other day." I've seen corrosion on circuit boards in as little as 24 hours, but typically it's several days to a few weeks. Not having your exact machine in front me, I'm merely speculating.
You're obviously not satisfied with the answer or solution provided to you by the staff at the store. You're entitled to that, just as they're entitled to void your warranty for a specific and cited reason. In this case... liquid damage to the internal components.
The discussions forum will be unable to provide you any further resolution, other than a place to vent. As someone who works in the support department, I completely understand your POV... that being said I also completely understand the store's POV. Without seeing the computer, witnessing the entire transaction or what went on behind closed doors I can think of a few solutions and I'll let you decide what works best for you to being pursuing.
    1. Return to the store, ask for a second opinion on the original diagnosis from another technician, or lead technician.
    2. Request that the send machine out to the repair depot as "flat rate" repair, at which they'll most likely state that it doesn't fit under this category. At which point you'd want to state that you'd like to let the repair depot "re-quote" you if they found liquid damage which caused the failure. If you pursue this option, understand that the data on the hard drive may be lost if they send it out and that if the depot re-quotes to a Tier 4 Accidental you'd then be responsible to pay for the repair or be given the offer to decline. If you decline, the machine would be sent back to the store... unrepaired and a week or so will most likely have passed. You may also be subject to a diagnostic fee, as outlined in the terms and conditions in the repair.
    3. Contact Apple Care, and ask to arrange dispatch pickup on your machine because it won't turn on. The phone technician will most likely see the notes from the retail store, as they all have access to the same system. This is essentially the same option as #2, only you'd take a return visit to the store out of the equation.
    4. You can contact Customer Relations at the phone number provided at http://www.apple.com/contact and speak with them further.
It'd seem overkill and unnecessary to pursue small claims over this, the costs/fees associated with such would more than likely exceed the 50% discounted price you were offered by the store.
My suggestions above are just that, suggestions. I certainly respect, trust and value the opinions of the Genius team at Apple Retail stores but as a consumer you're also entitled to satisfaction with your production.

  • Why can you not use Apple Pay for purchases in the App Store or iTunes?

To make a purchases in the App Store or iTunes, it appears you can only pay by entering Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or AmEx information.   If you select none and try to make a purchase, you will again be prompted to enter this information.  I would like to use my Apple Pay account to pay for Apps/tunes, but that doesn't  seem possible.  It seems this negates one of the primary benefits of Apple Pay, which is to make purchases without turning over your credit card information to the merchant, in this case Apple.  I know you can pay with Touch ID, but that is only authoring payment from your credit card information you have on file.

    Hello ToastyFlake,
It sounds like you are wanting to use ApplePay to purchase content from either the iTunes or App Stores. According to the following article, you are correct. ApplePay is for in-app (if the app supports it) or purchasing from a retail store.
Set up and use Apple Pay
Pay with Apple Pay in stores
On iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, you can use Apple Pay in stores that accept contactless payments. Look for one of these symbols at checkout:

On iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3, you can use Apple Pay to pay within apps when you see the “Buy with Apple Pay” or “Apple Pay”  button as a payment method. Look for these buttons in apps:

  • TS1702 Someone bought me an app through my email and it needed winfi to download so I stopped it and now I can't redeem the gift and it wants me to pay for the app

How do I download without paying for it again

    Hello Markers1986,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the app that was gifted to you.  I found a couple of resources that might help with downloading this purchase.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted.  You can use the steps in the section titled "If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch" in the following article:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1725
If the app does not download after following those steps, I recommend trying to download the app from your list of past purchases in the iTunes Store:
    Download past purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If you are still not able to download the app, I recommend reporting this issue to the iTunes Store support team:

  • My preorder for the song ghost stories from Coldplay wants me to pay for the album again, how can this be fixed?

Would like help, I had preorder the album ghost-stories form Coldplay. The moment it came out, iTunes sent an email, as I went to check the album it claims that I must pay for the item again, how can this be fixed?

Pre-orders are only paid for when you download them, not at the time of pre-ordering - until a pre-order is released and you download it you could cancel the pre-order.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5714 :
When the pre-order item becomes available, your account will be billed for the pre-order, and the item will appear in the Purchased section of your account. If there is a billing issue that prevents us from billing your account when the item is released, you'll receive an email notifying you that the item is available. You need to click the link within the email, using a computer and the latest version of iTunes, to fulfill the pre-order

  • HT1491 I bought a season pass to season 6 of the Penguins of Madagascar, and it said I would get all the new episodes in the season for free. But a new episode just came out, and it wants me to pay for the whole season pass over again. why is this happeni

Does anyone know what is going on?

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • With i tunes if you want to get something for free and you don't have a credit card how do you go about

I am trying to register for i tunes but i cant without a credit card and i want to get a free about what do i do??

I have tried to assist many people using the steps in that article but at the end of the outlined steps the 'NONE'
    button is not an option.
My best advice is to hold off on creating the iTunes store account until you have an iTunes gift card to redeem.
If you can talk a family member or friend into assisting you with accout set up [and to use their credit card]...
The card can be removed as soon as it is verified by iTunes Store.
Just sign back into your iTunes store account
    click on 'Edit Payment Info'
then selecting 'NONE' as the payment type
Be sure to click 'DONE' before closing the window or the CC info will stay on file.
    Good Luck

  • Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items?

    Hi all,
I'm getting this dialog box consistently now, not sure why. I get it when I select a single album from a single artist, for example. I get it when I select a couple of tracks within an album from an artist. Bizarre!
It became apparent to me as I added artwork for albums that didn't have any... Any idea why iTunes has started behaving this way and what I can to to get it to behave normally?
    Thanks for any insights...

    Chris CA wrote:
Yes it is normal behavior because you are selecting *more than one item*.
I have never not gotten that message if I select more than one item.
It should appear and has always worked that way because it is more than one item, regardless of anything else (same artist, same album, etc.).
You can check the box, *"Do not show me this again"* and it will not appear.
Okay, I might have checked that box. Still, sometimes I do get that dialog popping up.
How would you explain that if not with different values in the metadata ?

I had this problem as well. I was under the gun on time and just purchased it anyway. After installation I contacted support and they refunded me the amount.
You should have a backup of your servers regardless of circumstances. You would then be able to restore the server software.
When Apple repair machines they will often just swap it or swap the hard disk and will not make any effort to transfer your files. They assume you are doing a backup. Anybody running servers absolutely has a responsibility to ensure they have aduequate backups even more than 'normal' users. While Time Machine may not be wholely suitable for backing up servers Time Machine is so simple even normal users can use it and therefore no longer have any excuse for not doing backups.
