New droid phones coming out?

I am contemplating getting a Droid Maxx because of its apparently great battery life, but it looks like its been out for about a year now. Should I just wait a few more months if there is something similar that's better coming out? Or when would the next latest and greatest droid phone come out?

I have read on some of the mobile blogs that Disney has decided not to renew Verizon's rights to use the tradename "Droid" in the future for its phones. So there may well be similar models, but they won't have the same name. They may still also be made by Motorola--word has it that they've gotten a trademark on the name "Moto Maxx". So it may be a moniker for a successor model with a large battery, but not one exclusive to VZW.

Hi There,
I'm new to the forum and perhaps I haven't found this particular thread, so please direct me to it since my initial search did not show an answer.
I was looking to get the new HTC Incredible, however the salesman mentioned that there might be two new Droid phones coming out in the late summer.
Has anyone heard of this regarding these supposed new phones? I haven't heard anything and was wondering if anyone knew anything more of them? Should I wait for those or go for the HTC Incredible. I've got some time to look, so I was hoping someone here could help!

According to the Wall Street Journal, Verizon Wireless will be promoting and launching two new Android handsets made by Motorola. "We will introduce new Droid products in the Verizon franchise," said Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha. Jha also indicated that Verizon will be supporting its devices with marketing campaigns similar to that seen promoting the original Motorola Droid. Since Verizon Wireless is the entity licensing the Droid brand from Lucasfilm, it is up to Verizon to bestow its best Android handsets with the Droid brand. Motorola is banking its survival on the strength of the Android platform. Most of the handsets it has released in the last nine months have all been based on Android. Your OS X purchase did not come with the iLife apps (iWeb, iPhoto, etc), they are sold as a separate software package called iLife.
OS X Leopard will not include any of the iLife apps.

Why should you? Both, Photos and iPhoto, also Aperture can coexist peacefully.
Keep organizing your photos in iPhoto, while giving Photos a trial run. And when you are sure that Photos is what you want migrate your iphoto Libraries. But you may still want to use iPhoto for editing or adding Places to photos and similar.
So keep it installed.

I just bought an ipad,not even 30 days ago, now the new one is coming out next week. can I exchange?

Has anyone heard if verizon will be offering an exchange policy like they did for the iphone? I haven't even had my ipad 30 days and now the new one is coming out next week. Is verizon going to screw it's customers or allow you to exchange for the new one?

Verizon is not even giving the $100 credit that Apple is giving if you bought within 14 days. I called and was told I had to pay a restocking fee of $70 plus a reactivation fee of $35 so I could exchange and get an Ipad 2 and pay $105 as basically a penalty instead fo getting a $100 credit.
So don't tell me Verizon is not screwing their Ipad customers who just bought an Ipad.

so after my post about the EOL of phones for 2011, i was wondering if there were any phones that were coming out that would be as good as the Droid X. i liked the X bc it was big enough for me (im 6'2 and pretty big) and i liked how the OS was set up for customization of widgets and stuff.

When are new Windows phones coming?

Have an HTC 8X running Windows 8.1 that recently started having really bad screen glitching issues. For example, typing one letter enters another and one part of the screen is just dead to touch. Usually takes 3-4 tries now just to type in the unlock password. I could a) get a new upgrade (which I'm due), b) get a new screen from a 3rd party for $50, c) get a warranty replacement from Verizon for $100 or d) step down to my old HTC Trophy. Prefer option A (to get a new Windows phone), but no idea if and when Verizon will be offering them. Don't want to waste upgrade on an old model phone with new ones coming out soon. Anyone have any insight? Prefer not leave Verizon, but considering it since I'm in a crappy state right now.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. My Nokia Icon is possessed! I can barely text someone, unlock the screen or search the internet. My phone even calls people by itself. I have tried soft reset (several times a day) and finally a hard reset...didn't help at all. I, myself, have thought about your option a,c, and d but had not heard of option b. Please let me know what you decide. I can't take another day of this, especially when my hubby has the same phone and his is perfectly fine.

I've ordered a MB and usually Apple takes 2-3 weeks to ship. Well, mine has taken already 4 weeks.
Usually this happens when Apple is getting ready to upgrade.

Is there still a new MIDI standard coming out soon (MIDI 2.0)?

Hello, I was just wondering what the word on the supposed second coming of MIDI was. I seem to hear about it for a bit, and than hear nothing for a good while. I heard that it will be finalized within a year of MIDI's twenty year anniversary, which is coming up this year i think? Anyway, what am I missing here? Any gossip?
I am pondering this more as I am thinking about replacing some MIDI equipment. Should I wait to go all-out on the coolest stuff since a new MIDI standard would maybe (likely?) require all new gear to take advantage?
Also, even if "MIDI 2" is finalized very soon, about how long before we can expect good commercial products taking advantage of it?
And golly, "MIDI 2" aught to turn Logic on it's head requiring some heavy rewriting to keep up with the jones', huh?

I understand there may be a new Apple TV coming out in 2014. Hopefully this could be a game changer in our lives and not just a product upgrade. I also understand that Apple does not except unsolicited ideas and suggestions for new products.

This is totally reasonable. That being said, understanding this is neither a "suggestion" nor an "idea", I was wondering how great it would be if the new Apple TV would have built in Radio Frequency control capability for all HT products. Comcast has RF control with it's new x1 box but it does not work with other components like a DVR, AV Receiver or other HT devices. Logitech offers remotes that one has to program with all the codes per individual manufacturer but this still requires an RF base station and external blasters.
                If the Apple had a relationship with the different audio/video manufacturers so that one could simply use an Apple TV remote ( or optionally use ipad, iPhone, MAC ) to control everything HT, then this simplicity would capture a huge audience in a big way!! Of course..........this is not a suggestion or an idea :-).

No idea what you mean by HT devices, but it is unlikely Apple would release a product to support 3rd party devices. On top of which changing the ATV remote to be RF instead of IR would break all the existing remotes that are able to work with ATV. And would be MUCH more expensitve.

Only becasue they HAVE to because they only provide one actual cable box, with other dumb box termtinals.   So remotes have to be able to work in other rooms since they all have to connect to the real cable box.

Right, since once you switch to RF you break compatablity with all the other IR devices out there which is pretty much 99% of them.
