New email with calendar invite switches active Space

I just installed Snow Leopard on my iMac. When I get an email with a calendar item attached, the computer moves to the Space where Mail is located permanantly (Space #2). I've looked at the Spaces, Mail and iCal preferences and can't see anything that would prompt this. It doesn't happen when I get regular emails. Any help on this? Thanks!

To check if you have a virus, you can download ClamXav
also, go to Applications>Utilities>Activity Monitor and see if there's anything that you don't recognize, and check your sent email to see if you've been sending emails without your knowledge.

  • Outlook locks up when I select an email with an invite

I am running Microsoft Outlook 2011 (14.4.6) on a new Mac Pro with OS X Yosemite (10.10.1).
A few days ago I received an email with an invitation (from a trusted source). Whenever I click on that email in Outlook's mail preview pane Outlook locks up. I don't get a lot of emails with invites, but I know I have in the past without any problem. This behavior may have started after the most recent OS update. When Outlook locks up, no other programs are affected. I can do a force quite and restart Outlook and everything behaves fine unless I click on that email. I would love to just delete it, but I can't get to it to delete it without locking up Outlook.
Tried repairing the Outlook database, but that did not help.
I have seen some references to this behavior on other forums, but no suggestions on what to do about it.
    Any thoughts?

I have found a partial solution to emails with invites locking up Outlook. If I do a Spotlight search in the finder for content in the problematic email I can find the file representing that email and delete it in the finder. As soon as you delete the email (or make any other sort of change to the Outlook database outside of the program interface) it is important to then Rebuild the Outlook database. Hold the option key while starting up Outlook and it will give you the option to Rebuild. If you don't do this Outlook will give you an error when it starts up, but that will be resolved once you Rebuild the database.
I still don't know why the email with the invite causes the program to lock up and how to prevent that.
Anyone else having similar issues and find any resolutions?

    Confirmed!
It's an anti-virus related issue. First tried to disable only protection, firewall, etc., but it did not work fine.
As suggested, so I deleted KMS (but keeping the application settings and objects in quarantine), and was finally able to complete the installation of the update. Then installed again KMS and everything still works fine.
    No experience of Wi-Fi issues.

  • Mail Services New email with selection doesn't work, leads to Force Quit

I've posted this before, but got no replies so I'm trying again since it's driving me crazy. It was a problem under Mavericks and still exists under Yosemite's Mail.
When I select text and then go to the Services menu and pick "New email with selection," much of the time a totally empty new email message window opens , won't let me type in it at all, nor will it close or send. It just sits there until I Force Quit Mail.
    HELP PLEASE!!!

Standard Apple Mail. I'm running Yosemite 10.10.1, and I'm amazed to see that About Mail says it's Mail Version 8.1 (1993), copyright 1995-2014 Apple Inc.
Interesting thought, do you think that it doesn't like to work with itself?  Actually, I'm fairly sure I've had the problem inside of other apps but I should document that.  I'll keep notes to see where this happens.

  • New Email With Attachment

I love the shortcut command "New Email With Attachment." I seem to have lost the functionality to create an email directly using a file from finder and its no longer in the Keboard Shortcuts menu. I just refered to another mac not running on Mavricks and it is still there. Any one know how to retrieve this functionality?
    Thanks.

You can get this by creating a Service with Automator.
Open Automator (in Applications Folder) and Select Service.
    1. Select: "Services receives selected [files or folders] in [Finder]"
    2. Select the New Mail Message Action
Then Save, as: New Email with Attachment

  • New email with selection Services problem

When I select text and choose "New email with selection" under Services, at least half the time, a new Mail message window opens, blank.  Then, that blank Message window stays open, can't be closed, and the only way I can get out of it is to Force Quit Mail.  I had (and often reported) this same problem under previous OS X versions, and have been hoping that it would be fixed in Yosemite, but not yet!

    Hi JkeeneSoldano,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
To regain access to your Apple ID, try to reset your password using one of these methods:
Answer your security questions. Use these steps if you know the answers to your security questions.
Use email authentication. We'll send you an email that you can use to change your password.
Use two-step verification. If you set up two-step verification, you can use it to change your password. You just need your recovery key and a trusted device.

If you need to use the email verification method but don't receive the reset email, see this link for more help:

  • New email with attachment action disappeared from Finder

Does anybody know what might have happened? I've been using this action for some time, and after upgrading to Mountain Lion it stopped working. Then after some time I discovered that the action is no longer available in the Finder context menu.
Note: I'm using Bitcasa, and the Bitcasa client added some actions of its own under an option called "services".The action "new email with attachment appeared under "services" as well.
I don't think it's a Bitcasa problem as it's been working just fine for several months now. It crapped out after upgrading to ML.

Nevermind, figured it out elsewhere on the suport forum.

  • New email with attachment filename as Mail Subject

Does anyone know how to make an OSX Service, much like "New Email with Attachment" where the attachment's filename is automatically copied into the subject field of the email?
Can this be done in Automator, or does a script have to be written from scratch?
    Thanks in advance

As I said, it is now under Share>Email.
Also, you can do the same thing just dragging an item to the Mail icon in the dock.

  • Help with Calendar Invitation Alerts - Odd Situation

Hi everyone, I'll make it short and with facts of what I have done.
    The Facts:
My wife has an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1) and has her Gmail Email and Calendar setup as an exchange account in the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" settings.
I have an iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1) and also have my Gmail Email and Calendar setup as an exchange account in the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" settings.
We both use our Gmail email as the email account associated with our Apple ID.
We both have Calendar Alerts fully activated on Notifications Center (same exact selections) and have also marked "New Invitation Alerts" as "On" in the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" settings.
We both have selected "Push" on the "Fetch New Data" Setting.
We both have iCloud accounts but do not use the email nor the calendar functions of iCloud (we want to use Gmail).
If we create our own events in our own Calendars and set a reminders (for example "at the time of the event", we both get the alerts/notifications normally.
To summarize, I have gone item by item on both iPhones to make sure we have the same selections on every setting.
    The problem:
If my wife creates an event on her phone and invites me (rememer gmail to gmail accounts with same configuations in both iPhones), I do not get any type of notification.  The event will just show up on my iPhone Calendar greyed out until I accept it, but there is no type of notification (no popup notification and sound, no badge icon even though both are turned on in the settings of notification center an no pending invitations in the "Invitations" tab in the Calendar App).
However, If I create an event in my iPhone 4 and invite my wife, she will instantly get a pop up notification, with the sound alert she chose and her Calendar will pop open once she presses the pop up and the "Invitations" tab of the Calendar app will show up for her to accept the event.  Everything works fine with here iPhone!  The problem seems to be related to my iPhone since if it was a Gmail problem, my wife would also be having the problem.  Again, this problem is only when receiving invitations on my Calendar, because if I create my own event and set a reminder, it will function (alert) me as it should.
I don't know what else to do!  Any ideas of how I can resolve this?
    Thanks!

I recently upgraded to iOS 6 both mine and my wife 4S.
We are in the same situation of Javier: bot with GMail (Google Apps on different domains), IMAP for Mail, Exchange for contacts and calendar.
I am sure invitations worked fine with iOS 5, but now they stopped working with the iOS upgrade.
Switching mail to Exchange solves the calendar problem, but Push is not working properly with new iOS...
    I was thinking to:
    - change calendar settings from Exchange to GMail, or
    - exclude Calendar from Exchange and try CalDAV account.
    Should it work?
    Ciao

  • Issues with calendar invites from Outlook address that come to my gmail on iPhone

I have been trying for HOURS to get to the bottom of this iPhone calendar invite problem I'm having. I'll try to summarize.
I LOVE iCal and I want to continue using it. Though I have a personal mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I don't use it too much (my company functions solely on Windows). I almost exclusively use my iPhone 4S for calendar purposes. Yes, my calendar is synced up to iCloud. I have a gmail account as my primary apple ID and my mail account on the iPhone is synced with gmail. I've been very annoyed lately as I have been receiving a lot of calendar invites from a friend who has Outlook, and I cannot accept or decline when I received her invite. The events are added to my calendar, grayed out.
After much research, I realized that I had to setup my gmail account as an Exchange account on my iPhone, which I did. I then sent myself a test invite from Lotus Notes, and low and behold, I can now accept and decline!
..but I am VERY particular about my calendar organization, and I want to be able to choose which calendar the event is added to; however, it is added to my exchange (gmail) calendar, I guess because it was received on the gmail server. I want my calendar invites to be received on my ios device calendar! I don't know if having people use my .me account would help, but I don't want to tell everyone to change the email address to which they send me notifications, because I want to continue to receive mail at my gmail account (like the many calendars, I have many folders there and have everything set up the way I want it).
I get emails concerning work, events, tennis matches, etc via my gmail account, and I want to sort them to the correct calendar when the invite comes to my gmail while STILL maintaining the functionality to accept and decline invites.
    Is this a crazy question?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

  • Email with meeting invitation

Hi, I usually like to invite people when I create a meeting in my agenda, but I recently received an email with is well recognised in Gmail  but I an not able to add it to my BlackBerry calendar, any ideas? Thanks

    HI jumassillia,
Just to make sure I follow, you received an email regarding this "Juliette et Chocolat" event and the first screen shot is captured in the Hub? The 2nd shot is from your Gmail account in the Browser?
Do you sync your Gmail Calendar with your BlackBerry? If so, when you go to this date in your Calendar do you see the appointment?
    Thanks!

  • My Mac mail if filling new emails with past content?

    To All Users,
I am running on MAX OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.   Since yesterday some of the new email's in my Mac Mail client are getting filled with content that is one year old.   This problem does not exist with the same emails that are also downloaded to my iphone.   So the problem does not lie with my service provider.  There seems to be something strange going on with my Mail client.  Does anyone have suggestion as to how to fix this issue?   Your help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    1. This is the MacBook Pro hardware forums.
    2. Post in the Mail & AddressBook forum of the OS you are running (which you don't mention).

  • Issue with Calendar Invites after changing a user's name

    Hey all,
Strange issue we are having (Exchange 2007). One of the employees got married and had a name change. I changed the name in AD Users & Computers, updated the mailbox, etc. Now, when someone invites her via an Outlook Calendar Invite, she gets a "Cannot
Download Attachment" error on her iPhone. This isn't happening to anyone else and only started happening after the name change.
Was there something else I may have missed? I made sure that the person who was inviting her wasn't seeing the old address in her address book because of caching, so that doesn't appear to be the issue.
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,
The error description is related to attachment. Please confirm whether there is an attachment in the meeting request to the problematic user. Try to receive the meeting request in OWA to check whether the issue occurs. Maybe the issue is caused by large
    attachments download using mobile.
