New emoji without updating to iOS6??

Hey, I've got a question for you guys. I really wanna use the new Emoji emoticons. They're really cool! It's just that I don't want to update to iOS6, because the new maps are kinda crappy and useless, and I use maps almost everyday so I really need it. I can't find any apps with the new emoji that works. Anyone got any suggestions???

the only way youll be forced to update is if you restore... syncing or backing up wont force you up to update.... But once you hit that restore but, iOS 6 will bei nstalled. You can erase all content and settings from your device by going into settings>general>reset... but thats about it

Syncing in iTunes without updating to iOS6?

OK, so I've decided not to change to iOS6 until they have Google Maps back on it. But I still want to sync & backup my 4S with iTunes.
From memory, "upgrading" to new software is done automatically with a sync & I haven't found a setting in iTunes that can turn off the software upgrade when syncing. Am I stuck not being able to sync/backup at all until I want to have iOS6 forced on me a the same time? I'm running iTunes 10.7.0.21 on Windows 7.

No matter what kind of unlocking you mean you cannot do it without a computer.
Carrier unlock can only be done by the carrier it is locked to.

You appear to have the latest available software.
If your iphone is unofficially unlocked/hacked/etc, then it may be locked when you restore/upgrade.

I just got a new PC, installed itunes. All seems to work great.
When I plug in my iphone it will not let me sync to the new computer without "updating" the music. I do plan to import all my music over, but even then I will have over 80 gigs of files, and my 8 gig iphone already has exactly the stuff I want on there.

Move all your music, apps, podcasts, etc over to the new PC first and THEN sync your iphone.
It's complaining about having a different library database file - iTunes Library.itl
Copy your entire music folder over to the new PC after installing itunes on the new PC.
Next time you start itunes, your iphone should sync with no problems.

iMessage worked last night after upgrading iOS6 briefly. It has not worked since I also upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion on my Mac. This really ***** since I use my iPod to text during the day when I'm not home. Anyone have any luck fixing iMessage after upgrading to iOS6? Seems this is a big issue.

I recently updated to IOS6 and I cannot sync my calendar to icloud and all my notes are not appearing in cloud. If I have a new calendar entry, it is on my phone, but not on icloud. Need help making sure I don't lose any informaiton.

I recenly updated to IOS6. I have a couple issues after the process.
1- I lost all my calendar entries after the date I upgraded to IOS6 (all before the date were there). I created an icloud account to assure that I would not lose any going forward. Now when I enter a calendar entry, it does not appear on my icloud account. I can enter it in icloud and it will appear on my phone, but not the reverse.
2 - None of my notes transferred into icloud. I tried to manually enter one on icloud, again so I wouldn't lose this information going forward, and it appears on my iphone twice. I cannot figure out how to get the notes currently on my iphone into my icloud account.

Restore the phone as a new device. There is probably something that was corrupted on your phone during the update and has been passed via the backup to the replacement phone. If the corruption/problem is contained in the backup, you'll need to re-sync your data, and re-install your apps manually. Restoring the backup again will only bring the problem back with it.
If restoring it as new does not fix it, then make an appointment at the genius bar.

You simply sync the iPad to the new computer. It will tell you that it is already synced with another one though, and will give you the option to erase it or transfer its contents to the new one. An iPad can only be synced with one computer at a time.
Beware that only your iTunes and App Store purchases will sync. If your iTunes library contained music obtained from other sources, you have to find a way to transfer them directly from your sick computer to the new one.
I hope your new computer is a Mac, a replacement PC will eventually suffer the same fate.

Maybe you have a beta version of iOS6 in your Ipad. if is this, you have to put the ipad in recovery mode in itunes and then the update will start.
To put the ipad in recovery mode, you have to turn of the ipad. In your pc/mac Itunes has to be running, and plug the cord, but when you do that you have to press the home button until a message shows up in itunes!!

If it's showing the connect to iTunes screen then you will need to do that.
But Apple don't provide any method to update the first gen iPad to iOS 5 (nor do they support downgrading the iOS version).

Phone freezing since new emoji update

Since the recent update when using the new emoji's when texting the phone freezes on the emojis i am unable to go back the the regular keyboard, this also happened to my husbands phone he has a 6 I have a 5s. The only way to get out of it was to delete the emojis app, does anyone have a fix?

Can't restore new phone through backup without updating itunes, can't update itunes without deleting those backups.

I've got a big problem i'm hoping you guys can help with.
I recently updated my iTunes but now it refuses to open at all. I've googled this and it says that i need to just uninstall and then reinstall itunes, as the new 64 bit version has come out. My problem is this: I NEED the old itunes data that i have to sync contacts with my new phone. I made backup copies before my old iphone 4 crapped out, but i can't sync my new iphone with these copies without updating. however, i can't update without uninstalling everything and deleting my backups. see the problem here?
please help!

I understand that you need to update iTunes but you have concern for your information in iTunes. It is unlikely that any of your purchased or uploaded data would be affected affected by uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but I would recommend making sure your iTunes library has been backed up. Your contacts are not stored in iTunes but rather in the contacts program of your Windows computer. Deleting and reinstalling iTunes will not affect your contact data that is stored in your computer.
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
Media you've bought from the iTunes Store or songs you've imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default. They won't be deleted by removing iTunes. Although it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any of your iTunes Library when following the steps below, first make sure that your iTunes library is backed up. See iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive for more information.
Steps
Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then restart your computer.
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended affects.
