New employee with wrong hiring date - how to change?

Hi,
I've entered a new employee with a wrong hiring date and I don't know how to change it. Some employee date are easily changeable not the hiring date!?

Hi Marko.
Go to t-code PA30, enter the personnel number of the employee whom you have hired.
At the top in the menu bar, select "UTILITIES" - "Change entry/leaving date".
It will take you to the screen - "Change Actions" - Change " Start date".
This will correct the hiring date of the employee.

Hiring new employee with HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA

I am trying to hire new employee with HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA. For now, I only gives the mandatory values of the infotype 0002 in proposed_values and parameters to the FM.

When it is executed, it gives me the error:
'No data available for A 00007787 0003' where 00007787 is the employee number. My guess is that 0003 is for the Payroll status (0003) infotype. I thought it would be automatically created with the FM.
When I change the dialog_mode parameter to '0', no error appears but, the employee data isn't saved i.e. I cannot access it with PA30 or PA40. It says 'Personnal number not yet assigned'.
So, I'd like to know how to save data correctly and why dialog_mode '1' or '2' failed everytime.

My guess is that this FM HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA will not create all 4 infotypes (0, 1, 2 and 3 as I think all those 4 are mandatory for every employee). I would say that you need to specify data for each infotype separately. You can in fact create all those 4 infotypes in separate calls of FM. I was doing this some time ago (with calling FM 4 times) but I was using different FM - HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.
The obligatory fields for each infotype depends on the setting in you system so you need to find this out by your-self.
As per infotype 0003 do not forget to set properly field VIEKN - see feature IVWID otherwise maintenance of created employee may not be possible.
One last thing - you may try to use IDOC HRMD_A for employee creation. This way is much faster than using FM's. But be careful no data check/validation is done when you pass an IDOc to application (which maybe an advantage in your situation).

You can look at the browser.link.open_newwindow prefs on the about:config page if you want to divert all JavaScript window.open() calls to a new tab.

Is your system set up to assign a new employee number when the hire process is initiated? Why are you giving people an employee number before they are hired into the HR system?
If you use PA40 I think (not sure) you can assign an employee number on the screen.

I am having the same problem with my new z22. Have downloaded all info from old cracked screen z22 which I named "old palm" as my user name. I have added one record to my new palm with the stylus. I am trying to get the data that is now on my computer onto my new palm which i have named "new palm". When I connect new palm and press hotsync it says status: identifying user, user: new palm but then asks if i want to set up a new account on this pc giving only options as ok or cancel neither of which seem to help. Have tried lots of ways and different methods but can't work this out. Can you help?

We are currently having issue of mismatch between BW Schedule Line data with R/3 values for the Goods Receipts posting date updating incorrectly in to BW.
Example.
In table EKBE purchase order history we have following records.

As can be seen we have record no 8 for ETENR (Schedule line 1) with posting date 26.02.2010 and another record with posting date 23.01.2010.
Since we are getting 2 records the record with incorrect posting date overwrites the record with correct one.
Any idea if this could be a standard extractor problem or any other way to resolve this issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, are you using a staging DSO? (You should ideally)
If yes, is it a Write Optimized DSO? (Again, this is ideal)
If its a standard DSO, the values maybe over-writing upon activation.
You have 3 records (quantity = 1250 * 3) that have been receipted on 23.01.2010, where Posting Date = 23.01.2010.
You also have a record (quantity = 1250 * 1) that has been receipted on 26.01.2010. Posting date = 26.01.2010.
Now, in RSA3 & in PSA you can see more records than intended.
This is because you have before & after images. (ROCANCEL = X or blank).
ROCANCEL = X --> Before Image (record before change)
ROCANCEL = blank --> After Image (record after change)
This is a standard property of the extractor.
Now, we also have something known as BWVORG (Process Keys). Each process, i.e. creating a PO, Goods Receipt, Invoice etc.. have different Process Keys.
Creation - 001
Goods Rcpt. - 002
Invoice - 003
We can see that record 8, i.e. BWVORG = 002 (GR) has been modified on 26.01.2010.
That is why there is before image and after image.
Which one should be the correct posting date? 23.01.2010?
Normally in a Write optimized DSO, you will have all the records (before and after images & others as well).

The easiest thing to do is backup your old computer with an external hard drive. Then import all of your files from the external hard drive to the new computer. I just did this about two months ago myself. The biggest problem I had was that it did not keep any of my playlists that I had spent many years developing. However, there is a supposed way to be able to keep the playlists if you do your research on this website (which I did not do first, only after the fact) and follow the steps they guide you with.
