New Envy 5534 won't print wirelessly

I have installed a new HP Envy 5534 MFD for my parents. Works fine from workstation where it is wired in with USB2 (single page, scan, copy, duplex) however from a Asus laptop running Win8.1 it will not now print anything.
Tested fine when installed, printing a test page but today won't even do that. Have uninstalled the HP software from the laptop and downloaded and installed the latest driver package from the HP website but still no response from the printer. When trying to print a Word doc (Office 2013 Pro Plus) using the duplex feature there is a really unhelpful message that pops up:
and from the Windows print dialogue:
The printer is correctly linked into the Wi-Fi so am at a loss of what to try to resolve this. Reading the manual there is no mention of intervention necessary printing wirelessly.

Starting off -- this is not my specialty:  no shooting the messenger.
You might try Restarting everything, including the Router
Leave the computer with the USB switched off till last... In fact, leave it off until you can test the wireless system setup.  Test all the way -- that includes testing a printed document, not just a test page from the printer.
It might be that the wireless radio on the printer is shutting off when you connect the USB to the other computer.
If you can get the Asus W8.1 system to print
and then
the USB desktop will NOT print (just because the world hates you)
You might try:
Be sure you can get Full Feature Software for the Desktop for the printer
Remove existing printer software from the desktop

  • HP Envy 5530 won't print wirelessly

I have a laptop, mobile and desktop at my house. When I first bought my printer, it connected through my wireless BT hub fine. The password worked and it printed from my mobile as well. Then I tried printing a month later. It would not work, despite saying it was connected. My other computer Windows 7 computer and I have a Windows 7 laptop. We also missed out on a InstantInk black cartridge. It still is recognised by the desktop computer. It just won't print on command. We had to buy a USB cable for the laptop. That will work.  I bought this printer to make it easy for all of our devices to print. I don't understand why it started working, then suddenly stopped. We ran diagnostics and also phoned the HP helpline. No one could help us. Please let us know what is wrong as we haven't changed any wireless settings. The hub remains the same and our other devices in our home can use the internet. I will have to return this printer if it doesn't work soon. I bought it in November.

Hello , Welcome to the HP forum. I understand that you are having a network communications issue with your Envy 5530. I would like to help. I am surprised that the HP technical support people could not get this fixed for you.Could I have a list of any trouble shooting steps you have already done? Have you restored the network defaults on the printer and ran the wireless setup wizard again?Have you turned the hub off then on again? Try going through this document and let me know if it helps.Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection

  • Envy 110e won't print wireless with my mac osx 10.7.5 ok with usb,

very dissapointed with my envy 110e wire less printer, just wont keep its wire less connection. Fine with usb connection, but keeps dropping wire less. Now on reinstalling it gets as far as loading, however it recognises device, lists all its details, (type ip address etc) but then error message comes up and says it cant find printer on network!!!!!!! its going to be returned  or even float tested with all the water about!!

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • My HP dv4-2045dx won't print wirelessly with my HP Officejet 6500 E709n

My HP Pavillion laptop won't print wirelessly with my HP All In One printer.  It will print if it is hooked up, and the printer works wirelessly with my other computer.  I've uninstalled the printer and updated the drivers.  The print wizard goes through all of the steps to configure wirelessly, finds my printer, tries to connect, and fails at the last minute each time.  I believe it may have something to do with the fact that I also can't scan to my laptop.
P.S. It used to print wirelessly.  I have no idea what changed.

  • CP1025nw won't print wirelessly; two copies of printer appear in the network!

My two Macs running Mountain Lion (10.8) won't print wirelessly to the HP CP1025nw. HP Setup Assistant can't find the printer after it's set up wirelessly. The computers see the printer wirelessly when I try to add it, but there are TWO copies of the printer, and they won't print. Sometimes they seem to think the printer is already in use, possibly because there are two copies.
The printer prints fine through USB, though.

Same issue here, the CP1025nw can't print multiple copies UNLESS the user is a local administrator; which in this domain environment is not allowed. So another solution must be found.
The common answer is to adjust the "mopier mode" however this driver does NOT allow for that to be changed. The universal drivers typically do have the mopier setting but I could not find any compatible colour universal 64bit drivers that would work with the CP1025nw.
Even tried finding something in group policy and/or printer permissions, still no luck.
    Please help!
    We're all in it together.

  • My MG8120 won't print wirelessly from my MacBook running OS 10.9.5. Works fine with HP printers.

My MG8120 won't print wirelessly from my MacBook running OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks).  It works fine with all of the other HP printers in the office.  Another user has the same problem with her PC running Windows 7.  And she, too, has no problems printing on the other HPs.  I or she cannot print to any of three Canon printers in the office.

    Hi,
    Please try the following steps,
Download every updates from Apple and HP
Reset or Delete the printer from your mac (it may work trhough USB)
Reset all settings into default settings on your printer
Turn off or unplug mac, printer, modem, router
    Plug everything and reboot all
Reconnect the printer to home wifi network and mac also reconnect to the correct network

  • Printer won't print wireless

I have a OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus that won't print wirelessly.  I am using Mac OS 10.6.8
To date, I have followed suggestions on the support forum and have tried
    1) deleting and reinstalling printer,
    2) rebooting all (printer, computer, wireless router),
    3) Print test page (worked),
    4) reset printer,
    5) print network config page (all looked good),
    6) checked the printer connection to computer and all was well.  I am out of ideas.  Please help.
My printer is only 8 months old. Worked fine 2 days ago.  I called HP support and they want me to download software to "take over" my computer - I don't feel comfortable with this.  They refuse to begin any troubleshooting without that method and refuse a manager.  I'm about ready to throw this printer out the window.

It sounds like the printer and your Mac are connected to the network.  If the Mac cannot find the printer, it may be the router's inability to properly supprt Bonjour.
What kind of router is it?

  • HP Envy 5530 won't print in color from Mac

My printer won't print anything in color from my Mac. I've tried printing from Word and from a PDF, and each time only black ink will show up. I've tried:Removing the black ink catridge and printing with just colorShaking the color ink cartridgeRemoving and putting back the color ink cartridgePrinting a test page (color doesn't work for this, either- nothing prints at all when I do this)Double and triple checking my print settings The only ink color that my computer says is "low" is yellow. I'm printing wirelessly, but because black ink prints fine, I'm willing to bet there's no connection problems. DO NOT try to sell me more ink; I am already upset with HP enough as it is. The last thing I want to do right now is buy more of its ineffective products. Please help me fix this problem.

  • Deskjet 3050 Won't Print Wirelessly

    Hi there,
My new all in one 3050 won't print for me. It is "Offline" in the network page. I feel I have explored every avenue and it will still not print. The wireless network configuration page I printed says everything passed. The home network disagnostic tool says "software missing" after i click test connection. The print diagnostic tool fails on connectivity everytime. I can connect to the printer ip 192.168.1.3 in the browser 95% of the time but not always. My router is a Zyxel P-660HW-T1 v3. I'm really close to tears with frustration, I'm quite computer and networking savvy but I cannot fix this. please help, I'd be eternally grateful.
    Kind Regards,
    Larry.

    Hello dkkenny1,
Are you running Windows on your computer? If so, I recommend running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool provides a quick and easy way to diagnose and resolve many printing, scanning, and connectivity problems. Click the link below for details on how to download and run this tool:

  • Envy 7640 won't print anything except the print quality diagnostic

I'm trying to get a new Envy 7640 installed and working from my desktop running XP SP3.  I have it wirelessly connected to my home network and all machines can see the printer.  If I launch the HP Printer Assistant and print the quality diagnostic page, it works fine.  If I try and print a test page from Windows (or print anything else), it spools for a couple seconds, then the print job disappears.  My wireless laptop (MacBook Pro) can print just fine.
    I've already tried the following:
    Reboot the computer
    Power cycle the printer
Uninstall/reinstall the print driver in Windows
Connect the printer directly to the desktop via a USB cable (same result as trying to use it networked)
    Restarted the print spooler service
Disabled print spooling for the printer via the Advanced tab of the Printer Properties
Manually created my own TCP/IP port and configured the printer to use it
I'm at my wit's end here.  What else can I try?  Has anyone else experienced something like this?

The difference is a Windows print job goes through the spooler, and the situation you are describing, sounds very much like the spooler is corruppted or not working.
You can also try manually clean the spooler,  this page may be helpful on what is the spooler and how to clean the spooler: http://www.techienewsnetwork.com/fixing-or-cleaning-the-problematic-windows-print-spooler/

  • Deskjet 3050 j610a - New router; no longer can print wireless.

Hi all. Am 66 & new to computers and forums. I'll try to be brief, but I want to describe my problem as accurately as possible. I have a Toshiba C655 Satellite laptop, HP3050 j610a wireless printer, Windows 7 – 32bit OS and Google Chrome is my browser. For the past 2 years I've had no problem printing wireless with my Westell 7500 router. Then my ISP (Verizon) gave me a D-Link 2750B. My laptop connects with the internet over my wireless network fine now, but printing is only possible via USB.
The error message reads: “Your printer failed to join the wireless network – Mac address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router”. (I checked & it is not). I then printed a Wireless Network Test Report and the header reads: “Your HP printer cannot find your access point. Check that your access point is powered on. Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your access point network name (SSID) exactly. If they don't match exactly, run the wireless network setup to configure your HP printer”. In addition, under Diagnostics Summary it reads: “Network Name (SSID) Found = FAIL”.
What I've attempted so far: Uninstall & reinstall all HP software (Via hp website), power cycle router & printer, hard reset printer to factory settings, looked inside router & all seems OK. I did a Google search of this problem and got more confusing and complicated explanations than I was looking for...all the way down to subnet masks; whatever that is. I'm at the point now (and please correct me if I'm on the wrong path) I feel I should be trying to manually put the network info into the printer or obtain a printer IP; neither of which I know how to do.  Is there a way to look inside my printer settings the same as I look inside my router settings...and how?
I feel this has gotten way more complicated than necessary and I am probably overlooking the obvious here. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, but please reply to me as if I were in the 3rd grade ! (Although a 3rd grader would probably have figured this out already) !
    Thanks,
    Larry

OK,PrintDoc, I followed your instructions to the letter....although I had gone there many times before.  If you want, I can list each and every step, but to summarize:  Message says, 'software installed successfully", I allowed Network Setup to retrieve my wireless settings (by the way my security is WPA2[AES] ) then the green 'loading' bar for 'setting up printer on network'.
THIS is the where I get to the point at which I get the error message:  "Your printer failed to join the wireless network".  (Tried both letting the program retrieve the settings, as well as entering them manually).
I did, however, notice one thing different this time:  Where the icon of my laptop showed under devices, this time there was an '!' enclosed in a triangle, indicating some problem.  I opened it up and ran the Troubleshooter, and received the following messages:  "Device driver software was not successfully installed, *No driver found, Problem not fixed".  I remember seeing this once before in my numerous attempts to get my printer on the network.
However, a previous message said the software WAS, in fact, installed successfully....and when I took a look at my installed programs, it sure looked like it was.
Once again, a big 'thank you'.

  • My HP ENVY 4502 won't print more than a few pages at a time

I'm having real trouble printing from my HP ENVY 4502. Over the last couple of months whenever I have tried to use double sided printing, when the printer comes to printing on the reverse side of the page an on screen message appears saying "Error printing on HP ENVY 4502" and the printer cancels the document half way through the page. More recently when I have tried to print multiple copies of a document on a single side the same message appears after 2-3 pages and the printer cancels the document.
I'm not sure what to do about this - I have tried various different settings on the printer but none seem to make a difference. Printing is now becoming very time consuming and I'm also wasting a lot of paper as a result.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Jamille,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I have a couple of questions for you for starters:
What Operating System are you using Windows or Mac? What version? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
What happens if you plug in a USB 2.0 printer cable and print instead of wireless? Does the same thing happen?
I would suggest to go through one of these guides: (depending on the Operating System you are using.)

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - won't print wirelessly

Installed a new 8600 Plus printer.  Installed it onto my network.  My laptop sees the printer and the scanning function will fire off and talk back and forth with my laptop.  When I try to print, though, the printing fails with "Unable to Communicate with Printer" error.  Any ideas on how to solve this?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 won't print wirelessly

    Hi All
I purchased a new 8600 (N911a) 2 days ago and can't get it to print wirelessly and am tearing my hair out (what's left of it anyway!).
I've read all the threads on the forum and tried several of them but with no joy.
The pinter is connected to my network. and all is showing as ok.  I can print the network test results page from the printer and all is ok. I can access the printer EWS and print a test page and all is ok. This is the only printer I have connected and it's set up as the defailt printer. I have run the HP Print & Scan doctor and it prints the internal test page but not the 'normal' one and basically tells me to uninstall and reload the software.
I've done this twice now, once from the CD and the second time from the HP website to make sure I have the lastest version. I've rebooted the router, printer and laptop (Acer running Vista Home Basic) and still nothing works. I've done the 'power reset' suggested by someone by pulling out the cable whilst the printer is on and that didn't work either.
I can scan from the printer to my laptop wirelessly so I know it's all connected and seeing each other.....just can't get the **bleep** thing to print and need to print out an urgent document for tomorrow!
Can't call the HP Printer tech support team in the UK as they only work Mon-Fri (typical large corporate that thinks the world sleeps outside of these hours!) so am stuffed.
    Anyone any other suggestions?
    Kind regards
    Brian
