New Envy laptop, color seems off and very ugly

Hello, I just got a new Envy 17t Touchscreen. The new style of it, that comes with the B&O Audio. It is so beautiful. However the color is just beyond ugly. The computer takes on a brown hue across the whole screen. I've tried to find the RGB values but I think they are all 255. As when I was looking into the subject that might have been the case that one of the values was lowered. I went through the Windows recalibration tool but didn't change anything. Below are some pictures. This picture shows a plain white. The newer one (left) has the tint to it while the right (older model) has a bright and clear white. The brightness is set to max on both computers. And no, it's not my camera that's making them look different. It appears just as it does in the picture. Picture number two has a picture with color in it. It should look like a blue. While the newer one looks blue green and looks terrible in my opinon. Does anyone else have the newer model and can confirm this is how it looks for them? Is this a touchscreen thing? Or do I need to edit the settings? Thanks

As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.

Intel 7260 compatibility before buying a new Envy laptop

Does anyone know if the new envy 17t or 15t laptops with i7 processors are compatible with the intel 7260 ac wireless card or are the new laptops still whitelisted? Looking for laptop that is able to use this card.

The current Envy 17t and 15t models have no BIOS whitelist so you can add an ac card with no issues.

New bt vision box cuts off and re boots at least 6...

Any help would be great othis is matter , as title says my new bt vision black box keeps cutting off wether I'm on free view on demand or recordings its just cuts off and reboots up to 10 times in a 24 hour period it's driving me to the point of throwing it away !! I'm on infitity fttc and have steady 39 down 8 up connection speed , no other issued any ideas? Thanks

New MacBook Air - Camera "blinks" off and on occasionally

I just bought a new MacBook Air 13 a few days ago; I downloaded Skype the day I bought it. So everything should be up-to-date.
It doesn't matter how long I have been on Skype or anything thing like that, but every 30 seconds to a few minutes the camera and green indicator light blinks off and the back on, but only for a second. The person on the other end even notices it as my camera either turns off or the picture lags/freezes. Is this a known problem with Skype or is this an issue with my MacBook?

I don´t have or use a MacBook air, but I did notice the LED blinking usually when Skype switches the used video resolution. You may already know that Skype can adjust the video resolution according to different parameters like available bandwidth, cpu speed, and so on. If you want to verify this, you could turn on "Show Technical Information" via the menu. Within the call, it shows the sending and receiving video resolution somewhere in the new technical information window. Just as the resolution switches, the LED flickers real quick. If this is the case, then that´s that. You cannot do anything about it. There is unfortunately no way to force a fixed setting regarding the used resolution.

Some here on my Macbook Air 11inch. It's really annoying since Skype is the only way to keep in contact with my entire family (we live literally across the globe from eachother). It's frustrating when I have trouble showing them things or my nieces get upset from my picture flickering on their end every minute or so. I really wish we could get a fix!

I've already phoned HP that was a wast of time so i will not be doing that again.
First I have never typed in any product key for any software I also have powerDVD telling me that it
can only run on authorized hardware.
Am I best to call my bank and start a Chargeback or to keep trying HP in hope of getting a product key
to use the £500+ laptop I just got of them.
I only have two days left till this laptop is useless on that day it will be sent back for a full refund

What you needed was an Windows 7 HP usb recovery flashdrive specifically created for your notebook series.

ISight's color is off and has a horrible white-balance

Basically, is there some super secret ninja way of calibrating an iSight? I seem to remember there being one but I've checked Skype, iChat, Photo Booth and looked for a system preference but nothing pops up.
It seems the only way I can get it to balance properly is to hold up a white card when I'm using it. It doesn't help with the color issues but my walls are a kind of dark red so I'm guessing it's trying to compensate for that.
I know there's iGlasses by Ecamm and I've been considering that as an option. Has anyone used this?

No. There is nothing ninja about iSight.

The software that you use with your iSight controls it, and iSight's parameters are adjusted automatically by each app to optimize its performance for the intended purpose of that individual app.
There are no system preferences that control or adjust iSight.

You are on the right track. The automatic adjustments made by the apps you are using are apparently compensating for the ambient light in your work area.
As explained in this article, use a good (as bright as possible) light source in a well-lit room:

The best images your iSight can provide will be in full sunlight, so keep everything as bright and daylight colored as possible unless you are trying for some special effects or unusual color.
Changing your Desktop picture to a more neutral color and adjusting your display's brightness might also be worth trying.
I know there's iGlasses by Ecamm and I've been considering that as an option. Has anyone used this?
I have never had need of iGlasses, but many people have used it. If you need the manual control it offers and if you follow the simple directions on how to use it, it is an excellent product well worth its reasonable price.

Photosmart D7260 photo colors seem off

HI!
I've been happily using my Photosmart D7260 for many years and have always been thrilled with the quality of the photo printing. All of a sudden the pictures are either too dark or muddy, or too green - nothing like the image in my iPhoto. Even if I alter the images (make them brighter in iPhoto, for example), the colors are still not right and the pictures almost look fake! Very hard to describe. Any ideas how I can restore good color balance for printing my own photos?

Well, I fixed my own problem in 5 minutes after posting this using control, alt, command, 8. Read it in another thread!

Try going to Settings > General > Accessibility > white on black and turn this OFF.

Then the power adapter may very well have failed. The indicator is a diagnostic.
If notebook is still in warranty, the power adapter is a warranty replaceable item.

Colors in Photoshop (and Illustrator) are really off.

the biggest thing i noticed was that my greys were more brown than anything. I've included a sample pic that might show better the things i'm referring to.
so in the color selector dialog, the whole left side (white to black) is all tinted brown, like a sepia. this occurs in both Photoshop CC 64 and Illustrator CC. other applications like Paint.net, regular Paint, and GIMP show the normal white to black gradation with all the normal greys, so i know the monitor is displaying fine. i assume it's a color profile that i have to set or adjust somewhere, but the weird thing is that in Illustrator's color selection dialog, the square preview swatch of the color seems accurate and does NOT match what i see in the actual color "wheel". In Photoshop, the square swatch DOES match the color wheel, and both are incorrect. and weird, uploading the image to the forum here, the colors are equally screwed up (EDIT: once i hit "post" the posted images shows the blue color like it should). i'm going to try hosting this somewhere else and linking to it.
maybe someone could just check out the color 4252e8 and see if it's a periwinkle-type blue or a plumb-y purple.

Made what adjustment exactly?
Your problem is a bad display profile. The other applications aren't color managed and don't use the profile at all, so they're unaffected.
The way to fix that is to use a calibrator to make a new profile, but since you don't have one use sRGB. Set the profile in Control Panel > Color Management > Devices:
Relaunch PS/Ai so that they can pick up the correct profile at startup.
