New event on Wiki Calendar always saved a day behind

I just did a fresh installation of Leopard Server & updated to 10.5.6 .
Group wiki, blog and calendar are displaying as expected. I noticed that whenever I created a new event, the event date will be saved a day behind the selected date in the Event dialog window. For example, if I want to create an event on 3rd Jan 2009, I would have to set it on 4th Jan 2009.
My time zone is Asia/Kuala Lumpur and time server is time.asia.apple.com .
Any ideas ?

Ways around it :
1. Create an event with a duration (at least 5 min). You can have it begin at 12:00am if you want to.
2. Create an all day event which MUST begin on or after 08:00am . Anything before this will be marked in the previous day box (even though the date and time values are as the way you have entered). I tried creating an all day event beginning from 07:55am and it was marked in the calendar a day behind. So 08:00am is the magic number.
Question : Is 08:00am regarded as a new day in iCal server ?

I can't add a new event to my calendar on iPhone. The plus sign is greyed out and even when I try it with Siri it says "Sorry. I can't do that right now". I did my due diligence and searched all over the forums and internet and I can't fix this. There was a listing in a forum where a lady had this same symptom but it looks like toggling iCloud worked for her. Not for me. I went into Settings>iCloud and turned off Calendar and then turned it back on. Still nothing. I even went to iCloud Backup and turned it on then back off and still nothing. See if you can go to your Calendars App and select a previous event to see what Calendar the event was added to (iCloud or Yahoo). After that is determined you can go to www.iCloud.com or calendar.yahoo.com and add the event there to see if it will populate on your device. Another troubleshooting step is deleting the iCloud account from your device and also deleting the Yahoo account. Then check to see if you can add an event without it syncing to a email. If you can then it may have just been a bug and you can add both accounts back and try adding the event again. I would also recommend only using one service to sync your Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. Such as either iCloud only or Yahoo only, as using multiple accounts means your data is spread around and can be hard to isolate when something goes wrong.

I understand that your calendar events are appearing in GMT on your calendar in Yosemite. This was a fix in iOS 8.2 for iCloud calendars. I would suggest that you make sure all of your devices are updated to the current software release to help resolve the issue.

Why won't a contacts phone number appear in a new event added in calendar?

I'm new to using the Apple Calendar to list new events added. Previously, I used Microsoft Outlook 2010 for my business needs on my old PC and that worked perfectly for adding new jobs. Recently I made the change to a 27" iMac running Yosemite (which I love) and I purchased MS Office 365 for all of my business templates and approximately 1,000 customers. The MS Outlook program is having a lot of trouble syncing to the Apple Calendar which wasn't a problem on my old PC. So, I thought that I could just use the suite of programs included with my new iMac instead of Outlook. Unfortunately, when adding a new event and add a customer as a location, it will only list their address and not their phone number which is something that I must have. I understand that I will have the contacts listed with me always, but I don't want to have to switch between programs to pull up the listed contacts #. If this is not available then I fear that I will have to revert back to MS Outlook and just figure out what is preventing it from properly syncing with Calendar. I use the Calendar app on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air religiously so in the end it all comes back to Calendar.

Would you prefer that I request this post be moved into the Mac OS & System Software > Yosemite support community where you are likely to receive considerably more visibility and support to your email problem?
This current location is not heavily visited because it is for AppleWorks, the long since discontinued Apple Office productivity package.

Create a new event in a calendar

Hello,
I have some calendars but I cannot create a new event just clicking on
a day.
I can do it from the ribbon,events,new event,but it's not as convenient.
Do you know, what could be wrong?

I can add that the problems shows up with Internet Explorer (version 11). With Firefox it works fine. Besides, it is connected to AAM. Indeed, if use as an url Alternate Access Mapping I cannot click on the day, while if I access the site with the
server name all works fine.

As mentioned by Cameron there are couple of known issues with 64 bit version of IE,
try with 32 bit version of IE also, Please also try adding your SharePoint site AAM URL
in trusted sites zone
from IE11.

Can't create "new event" in icloud calendar

When I want to create a "new event" this is waht happens. It says "couldn't create an event" because of server error. When I click report this window opens.
It is happening to 4 other people that I know. What is going on with icloud???

I have a client that is getting the same error message when trying to add a new calendar entry at icloud.com.

How can I have a new event on my calendar without an automatically alert?

Even when my alert is set to None, I still get an automatically 30 minutes alert to every new event on my gmail calendar. Is there a way to not have an automatically alert to every new event?

Open the existing event, tap Edit (upper right). Make the needed changes. Tap Done. Tap Save for Future Events.

Why can't I receive alerts when my partner include new events from shared calendar?

I am able to share my calendar with my partner and he is able to receive alert whenever I add new event. However, I am unable to see future events which he includes and update in his calendar even though he has shared his calendar with me.
I have checked and the settings in iCloud are there, yet it is still not working.
Can anyone assist or have solution for this? Appreciate much!

yes, calendar alerts are enabled and it is his default calendar which he has shared with me. I have checked all calendars checked under the app as well.

Setting an alarmon event in Wiki calendar

I would like to be able to set an alarm attached to an event that would be sent to a specific email address at a specific date such as it workd more or less in iCal. Can I do this with the Wiki calendar or is it more limited than iCal (what's the use then and not just use iCal from the server or am I missing something here?).

My guess is you are going beyond the am/pm boundary. In the above example, I cannot type anything less than 9 or 12 because the original time was 10 AM. Until I changed it to PM, I could not type 2.
As William points out, the data detectors method of spelling out the entire event and time is quite a bit simpler. However, it doesn't work on iOS, yet.

I cant seem to add a new event on my iPhone 4 with the new iOS 5. I read the you are suppose to tap and hold the day you want to add an event, but that doesnt seem to work for me.

It works for me when I tap and hold my finger over the day seeing the month or week, when the phone is turned sideways. Maybe you should keep the finger a little longer on the screen to hold.

When I create a new event in iCal, it automatically creates an all-day event. (By create, i mean double-clicking in the month view.) Is there any way to change it back to hourly when you create an event, like in Snow Leopard? Although this is easy to get around, it's just annoying as I rarely create all day events.

I was really frustrated by this change in Lion as I prefer to use the month view and I hate the way it defaults to an all day event. So I was very pleased to find this solution in the Mac OS X Hints. Simply type "Dinner at 6 pm" and it enters "Dinner" at 6 pm for one hour. If you want anything other than an hour, put "6 - 8 pm" (or whatever period you want. Brilliant. Just wish Apple figured out a way to tell me that without having to search the communities here for an answer.

I've had issues lately with creating events on my iPhone. I'll create one, and then when I hit done, it doesn't appear in my calendar, and I have to create it again. I've noticed it often happens when I try to set an alert with it. Very few times will it appear after the first time I create the event. Has anyone else experienced this issue? New Events in iPhoto Aren't Saving

I recently got a new camera (Nikon S1800) and I'm able to import the photos to iPhoto and create an event but they then won't come up in my events. They will stay in Last Import until I upload new photos and then they seem to go missing. I've already done the whole cmd + option thing and tried to rebuild the library.

If they are in Last Import then they are in your Library somewhere. Most likely they are just somewhere you don't expect them to be. Have you explored the Sorting options in the View Menu?
