New feature of ios8 recent calls and message contacts do not show up across top pf screen. What should I do?
Iphone 5s update ios8 new feature is recent contacts from texts and calls "multitasking" show up in circle at top pf home screen. I don not have this feature. Why? what should I do? There is limited information on the ios8 features on web site. Can anyone help? I have tried checking my settings for problems. Can't find similar problems on support forum. What is next?
Thanks for your quick help. I DID try this. Your English translation was fine. I found it. I changed it. But, so far, nothing has changes on my screen. Any further suggestions? I wondered if I should try to update the ios8 again. What do you think? I have a terrible time in settings with all aspects. I could easily have something else turned off or on mistakenly.

I can call facetime my contact/friend but status says "CONNECTING" but doesnt connect. what should be done to overcome/correct it.

My ipod will not connect to itunes. I reset the ipod touch. uninstalled itunes and installed it. Turned off firewall however the device manager still does not show Apple mobile device usb. What should i do next? I have windows 7.

Is that other router the "main" one? If so, you'll have to configure the Time Capsule to "join" the network created by that router. The details of how to do that and whether it's possible may depend on the brand and model of that router, but I have no details on that.

In messages contact name not showing, just number??
When I open messages it only shows the number of my contact not the name of the person. It appears it only does this for contacts that I have used iMessage with??

No, that's not it. I tried both ways: 64-bit flash plugin, with Firefox in 64-bit mode. Latest 32-bit flash plugin with flash in 32-bit mode. No go.
I see the first frame of the video. Video does not update except in chunks, portions of the screen, every few seconds. Sometimes there is no audio.
Curiously, other video sites, such as vimeo, are fine. Also, some embedded youtube videos on other sites are also fine. But the problem is consistently there on youtube.com. -

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and set this to iCloud.
Download the app My Contacts Backup. Use this app to back up your contacts as a vCard attachment to an email. Send this email to yourself.
Open the email and tap the attachment to import the contacts back to your phone. They will be added to the iCloud group, and to your iCloud account.
You will probably notice that you have duplicate contacts on your phone because the contacts now exist both in the original group and in iCloud. Let me know what group the contacts were in originally and I'll give you the steps to eliminate the duplicates. -
I upgraded to a 4g and the most recent backup (today) is not showing up. The most recent backup that showed was 3/3/12. I went ahead and backed up to that date and found that my texts, phone calls and messages are the part that did not backup.
Can anyone tell me 1) why my most recent backup did not show in ITunes, 2) why I could not backup using the Cloud (I tried this way first), 3) how I can get all the phone calls, messages and texts from 3/3/12 until today? Please help if you can...thanks!I found the answer on:

Feature request: record calls and messages on iPhone
I'm trying to generate interest for some features I think should be introduced. What do you think of this one...
The iPhone should be able to record calls and messages to save as an audio file on your computer. Aside from providing the ability to keep a personal archive of important or meaningful calls and messages, this introduces another revolutionary new feature:
Imagine if every call you made on your phone was recorded automatically, so you could review what someone said even after hanging up the phone. Each call could be saved in a temporary location, and recordings could be saved permanently by clicking "Save" on the corresponding entry in the call log. This way, you wouldn't ever have to worry about forgetting what someone said, and you can forever save the memorable phone calls that impact your life. This feature would also be extremely useful for recording phone interviews for later review and transcription.
This feature would likely be relatively easy to adopt, and would certainly be a revolutionary addition to a revolutionary device.Thanks, I already did give Apple feedback though. I was just posting it here to try to generate some more support for the idea. I'm new to the forum, so I'm not sure if this is an appropriate type of thing to post, so please let me know if it's generally not appreciated to put feature suggestions up for discussion.

I understand that you are wanting to restore your new iPhone 6 from an iPhone 5 backup. This sounds like the iOS version of your old iPhone 5 may be newer than what was installed on your iPhone 6. Try going through the steps in the article below.

I would also check to see the backup dates in iTunes and if the backup is located on iCloud instead of iTunes.

Is there a way for this community, to make a suggestion to Apple to include blocking a specific contact number calls and messages just as other phones provide that feature for their users.
No phone provides true call blocking. At best, they provide call diversion. Essentially, the call is answered and disconnected automatically. If I recall, Apple is adding call diversion features in iOS 7.

Got a new LG in Anchorage and was told Glennallen, AK is in a service area. Got home and all I get is Message 41, Roaming.

Turn off "Recent Calls" and "History"
There is a real need for Skype to allow a user privacy by TURNING OFF the recording of recent calls and history.
I am aware that History can be "disabled" in Skype Preferences -- and that one can ERASE the list of recent calls with Conversations > Clear Recent. But (i) the second action actually moves the Recent Calls to the History -- even if History is disabled! And (ii) there does not seem to be anyway to STOP new calls from being added to the "Recent" list.
I do not see any way to TURN OFF the recording of calls with the current Skype, but I would be happy to be corrected. Save that, I would be please if this would be considered as an update to future versions of Skype -- it would be trivial to add "do not list recent calls" to Preferences.FYI, that won't work. AirPlane disables all radio communications.
The best way to do this is to divert all calls.
Go to Settings
Phone
call forwarding and switch to O
Type in your carriers default voicemail number. Because it is the default number for voicemail is an exception in their list you won't be charged for the diversion.
remember to switch this off when you get back.
Then go to messages turn off send as SMS and MMS.
That should avoid most of the charges. Its inevitable that you'll get some but hopefully if you're careful it will be minimal.
Have you thought of using a local sim while you're there, you're iMessage will still work and your home SIM and account will be inactive so you won't get any unforseen chardges?

How do I stop my 2 iPhone 5s from sharing calls and messages
MMyself and my husband each have iPhone 5 with newly down loaded iOS 8.1.2. Now they are sharing incoming calls and messages . How do I stop this. We only have 1itunes acct.
Easiest solution is to use different Apple IDs for iCloud. You can still use the same one in iTunes/App Store, but for iCloud, one of you make a new Apple ID, sign out of the shared Apple ID under iCloud, and then sign in with the new Apple ID there. The Continuity feature's basic requirement (the master switch if you will) is that the devices be using the same iCloud account. This will also prevent problems such as accidentally deleting or modifying each other Contacts/Calendars, running out of the free 5GB of iCloud storage, etcetera.
Only use a shared Apple ID for iTunes/App Store.
For iCloud/Messages/FaceTime/GameCenter, use a unique personal Apple ID, unless you want to get each others iMessages, FaceTime calls, contacts and calendars and game progress.
