New field in account advanced search

Hello Experts,
I'm facing issue where the new field is not showing up on the advanced search screen for account (CRMM_ACCOUNT).  The new field has been added to both search request and search result structure.  The logic has also been implemented to incorporate the new field into the search query.
When add this new field to the field group, the field displays on the 'Get' drop down box and I was able to search by this new field fine.  However, it doesn't get display on the advanced search screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
--Jamie.

Hi Jamie,
What i understand is the field has been added in Field Grp ACC_SEARCH_LOG_04 but its not showing up in Advanced Search right. I hope you should do this step i.e  Goto-> Layout Generation and Uncheck 'Only Check Fields Groups' from the checkbox and Enter the Field Grp in Field Grp field over there then execute it. Hope you can see the Custom field there.
When you click Show advanced search you can see the 'Find Dropdownlist box ' select 'All Accounts' value from there and check whether your custom field is populating there or not.
Thanks,
Raju

    Hello Experts,

    Can you help me?

    Hi
    make append to tables in se11 - CCMBP1FIELDS, CCMBP2FIELDS
in spro in Define customer-specific search control -> mark fields with X.
and enhance html template CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. -> tcode smw0, look for package CRM_CIC_COMPONENTS for html CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. export it from SAP, edit, and import.
you will need to enhance function module used for searching - you will find him in spro in Search Strategies.

  • How can you permanently add a new field to the Advanced User Search?

We have a number of USR UDF attributes that need to be used in the Advanced Search: Users window. These will be used very often so we would rather not require our Admins to have to select the Add Fields button, scroll down to the attribute they want, then enter the value to search on. We would much rather modify that Advanced Search screen such that the custom attributes we want to search on are listed permanently on that screen. I think there is a way to configure this but I just can't seem to find it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    -Dave Herrmann

The first suggestion here, http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e14308/conf_mangmnt.htm#CHDIEFGD, only allows me to add the UDF attribute to the Add Fields drop down list. It doesn't put the attribute on the screen by default. I was trying to avoid having our Admins select that attriubute from the Add Fields drop down list since they will be searching on this attribute pretty much all the time.
The second suggestion was to open up one of the OIM jar files and modify an xml file and then zip it back up. This will be overwritten on each OIM Bundle Patch so I really don't tlhink we can use that approach.
So, this is it? What I'm trying to do can't be done through a standard lookup change or something?

  • Process to add  new field to Account screen and update value from R/3...

We have CRM 7 and just wanted to ask what the process would be to add a new field to the Accounts screen. This field will be a read-only field and we'll source its value from R/3, based on some of the other data entered into the Accounts screen.
What exactly is involved in this process?.
I think I can use the new Application Enhancement Tool instead of EEWB to create the new field, but how does one identify which structure/table to change for say the 'Accounts' data, and, where does one place the code which populates this field, and, once the structure has been changed how do I physically add the field to the screen. I should be okay with reaching out to R/3 and populating the data, code-wise, but again wondered if there was anything inbuilt to do this, bearing in mind the closeness and constant access to R/3 from CRM.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Jason,
If you use EEWB or AET,, there is nothing manual you have to do, the fields will be added to all related tables and structures plus UI too.
May be sometimes you have to run the UI configration tool to add the field to the UI, again this is just a tool, there is not manual coding required.
you can enter the value for the fields direclty via UI, BUT if it is a display only field, at the time of save, you have to write couple of line to populate this field ( see set_property( ) method in the context node ).
    Thats it...

In the advance search of the Who is Who service, we have the Organization Unit and Cost Center as searching fields.
We can't be able to see the dropdown list for these 2 fields from the Portal.
Do anyone have any idea of what configuration is missing?
    Thanks.

according to my knowledge they don't have Unique ID but unique names attached to them.
    open Outlook
go to Tools -> Forms -> Design Form -> select Message then right click on 'To' textbox and chose Advance Properties it has a field 'Name' that name can be used for reference in your development.

  • Duplication of attributes in Add Fields dropdown of  Advanced Search

I am instantiating a secondary VO twice in the View Criteria. This leads to a duplication of query able attributes in the Add Fields drop down.
Is it possible to override certain method in af:query, and suppress the attributes appearing in the Add Fields drop down.

Unchecking the queryable attribute would remove the attributes from the Add Fields drop down all together. I need to avoid duplication and display the attributes only once.

  • Advanced Search in PCUI

    Hi,
I have added new fields to the advanced search in CRM 5.0. I want to select customers with the industrysector (new field). So that I have added this field to the webapplication (application: CRMM_ACCOUNT / view: zcrmmxp /.
So I will have to customize the search question. Where can I do that? In the model Access Class?
Where do I find the search query?
    Thank you for your help,
    Christian

    Hi Christian
I the Fields you added in the Field Group were present in the structure then you do not need to modify anything.
The search logic is already present
If you did an append structure and then added the field, then you need to modify IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~QUERY of your MAC to enhance the search logic for newly added field.
If you want to include the field in Search Result as well then enhance IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL~READ as well.

  • Adding a new Search Field in Advance Search

    Hi,
In 1 of the advance search regions, :
We have a search panel in the adv search RN. In the poplist we have say 10 fields. We can add either of these 10 fields and use for searching. Now I want to add another search field ( an attribute from a table).
    Question 1 :*
How to find the underlying VO from which the search fields are coming. I saw the page ( about this page) but couldn't find anything.
    Question 2:*
Suppose I get the VO (resolution from above question) , if my extra filed is not there I add it in the VO ( VO extn), now how to configure this new field to the existing search panel fields?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think search fields are not mapped to any VO. If this is your standard page, check the standard controller. It might be getting values from pageContext.getparameter().
You can create a new item using 'Personalize this Page' option and extend your controller to set where clause for the same.

  • Input field in "Advanced Search"

    Hello Experts,
I'm setting the "Search Component Set" and "Search Option Set" in our portal, and I've a little question..
In our default "Search Option Set" I disabled the property "Enable Large Search Field" (and it works fine, the input field is not large!) BUT during the search when I go in "Advanced Search" the input field return large... Why??
Is possible to set a  not large input field also in "Advanced search" ?
    Thanks in advance

    Ok,
in SystemAdmin > SystemConfig > ContentManagement > UserInterface > Search
you can find the "Search Component Set" and "Search Option Set".
Configuring "Search Option Set" (the default option set used is "UISearch") you can enable/disable the parameter "Enable Large Search Field", that works on input field width..
If I disable this parameter the input field of my toolArea is short, but if go into "Advanced Search" the input field change and became large...

  • Customization in Advanced Search Area.

    Hi All,
There is a requirement in advanced search area of return orders.
Based on the transaction type selected, corresponding status values has to be populated.
Here im populating the transactio type values in the drop down list box and status value i have to populate in the value help/ drop down/ F4 application, but these status values should be populated based on the transaction type we have selected.
We are working on CRM 5.0 version, and i have done few things, here im listing out the steps.
    1) For the Transaction type field i have enable the Roundtrip CS search option.
    2) I have created a new ABAP structure for the transaction field(ZCS_Trans_Search).
    3) I have appened this abap structure to the calling F4 application (Status F4 appln)
    4) implementing the IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2FILL_F4_STRUCTURE and IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2CHECK ACTIVE_SHUFFLER methods, but still im not able to enter in to this methods in the debug mode.
These steps i have done with the ref to PCUI COOK BOOK 5.0 version, here im copying the steps given in PCUI 5.0
    5.1.3.7 Context sensitive value help
The current complex value help is not fully context sensitive. It does not consider the information
the user has already entered on the screen, If it is present in different screen position or in different
line of a list than the field on which F4 is pressed. Thus, the value help often displays result set
which are not related in the current context. To make value help context sensitive following points
    must be improved.
    • The complex value help must consider the entries of relevant fields on the calling
    applications screen as search criteria.
    • The value help application should be enabled to set the value in the Search-Shuffler
    depending on the current context.
    • The application should be enabled to dynamically disable the availability of the value help
    icon for a field.
To implement this feature for any field in the field group following steps to be performed:
    1. New field group customizing flag is added the by checking this enables context sensitive
search for a input field. Field group customizing is called “Roundtrip CS Search”.
    <Include the figure>
    2. Determine the fields to be transferred to the value help application from calling application
and create ABAP structure from this fields. This structure is called “Context sensitive
screenstructure” (CS structure). Assign this CS structure to the complex value help
application which is associated with the input field. This is done in:
    Transaction crmc_blueprint
Open the node “Application/Layout node “
    Edit the value help application
Enter the name of the structure in the filed “Struct. For Context-Sensitive srch. Help ”
    (F4_CS_STRUCTURE)
    3. PC-UI FW takes the CS structure data from the calling application and defaults them in the
value help applications advance search screen structure. Include this CS structure to the
advanced screen structure of value help application to have the same fields of CS structure
and add the corresponding fields for the CS structure to field group of advance search.
    4. Implement IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~FILL_F4_STRUCTURE in the calling
applications Model Access Class. In this method you fill the value in CS structure which will
be passed to the value help application.
    IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~FILL_F4_STRUCTURE
    5. Implement / or enhance if already implemented
    IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~CHECK_ACTIVE_SHUFFLER in value help
applications MAC. This step is optional, With this you will be able to select the correct
shuffler based on the context sensitive data passed with new import parameters values to
    this method.
    IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~ CHECK_ACTIVE_SHUFFLER.
Please do suggest me.. what are the things further i need to do..
REMEMBER: I have to do this implementation in the advance Search area.
    Regards.
    Anilkumar.

    Hi,
As I understand, you would like to have more than 5 property filter in Advanced Search web part.
According to this article, it is one of the limitation in OOTB Advanced Search web part: "The property search doesn’t allow the users to specify more than 5 property filters." As workaround, "Reuse the OOTB Advanced Search UI’s hidden controls
that determines the search attributes (ASB_PS_…)". Please refer more information via:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/senthilkumarmani/archive/2010/06/05/custom-advanced-search-metadata-values-pre-populated-for-user-selection.aspx
Also, I find two articles about customizing the advanced search Webpart adding custom properties in case you need:

  • How enable material class for Material Advance Search in MMnn transaction?

    Hello,
Isn't possible to include material characteristics in Advance Search (via TREX) for every material fields in ECC? So I can enter material characteristics value in 'Full Text Search' field of material 'Advance Search for Material Using Search Engine' searchelp in order to find material that I want.
I tried to include BUS1088 in SES_ADMIN transaction and succesfully indexed it. But I still can't search with characteristic.
Would you all help me, please.... Thanks.

    Hi Colleague,
No. This function is not provided in the R/3 System. Only one record is taken into account during the free goods determination with the existence of several valid condition records. This record is the one with the largest minimum quantity. For this record the system only generates one free goods subitem.
Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: #eWith material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge#e or #eIf material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge#e.
You can refer FAQ note 549963 which clarifies this point.
I hope it can be helpful.

  • Advanced Search Interception

I've got an Advanced Search that I need to intercept and do some pre-processing of the
    search criteria before search executes.
I'd first like to add a input field to the Advanced Search UI that is not part of the
view object attached to the Advanced Search model. If the user submits search data in
this "new" field, I'd like to intercept that input data and use it to execute a query
programmatically against a different view object. The results of this query will then
"auto-populate" one of the other fields in the Advance Search model.
In my AppModuleImpl, I notice the following method in my JHS generated application:
public void advancedSearch(String viewObjectUsage, ArrayList arguments)
    super.advancedSearch(viewObjectUsage, arguments);
I know I can "intercept" the Advanced Search process at this point, have access to any
search input data from the user via the ArrayList of QueryArguments, and since this is in my
AppModule, I also have programmatic access to my other view object.
I have two things I don't understand how to do:
    (1) Add a "new" input field to the searchBean from my UIX Advanced Search page, so that I can
capture my "new" non-model search field.
    (2) Create and add a new QueryArgument programmatically and add it to the ArrayList before calling
the super.advancedSearch(..) method. Specifically, the QueryArgument constructor takes some args
that I'm not familiar with (since JHS I think typically does this behind the scenes). Once my
"new" query field is added to the searchBean (from (1) above), I can use this data to execute a
query against another view object programmatically, and the results from that query will feed a
a new QueryArgument that I'd want to programmatically build and add to the ArrayList.
Are there any examples or tutorials of how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Timothy

    Timothy,
The easiest way to do this, is to add a transient attrbute to the VO to get the additional input field in your search area. This attribute should have the queryable checkbox, but does not match a column in the underlying VO table.
When you generate your app, JHeadstart will then add a search field for this transient attribute, and it will create a QueryAttribute for it when you press Find button. Then, by overriding advancedSearch in your app module, you can get this QueryAttribute from the arraylist argument and do your preprocessing.

  • Customizing advanced search

    hi,
i am planning to make a customization on the advanced search page of a module.
i want to add 2 new search criteria :
    _a CUF
_a basic html <select> list filled with an sql request
how can i add those fields in the advanced search page ?
how can i modify the standard sql request ?
do i need the java source ?
    thanks
    Dan

Extend the VO to add the criteria columns in the VO if the criteria are not part of query column. Use personalization to add the new columns on the search page.
There are many threads with similar issue discussed. Check them out.
