(New) Fiori Launchpad Logon Screen Configuration possible?

Hello,
the old launchpad used for Fiori Wave 1 apps was very pretty (nice background image; nice formatted logon fields for user name password).
For the new Fiori Wave 2 launachpad I just get the following (not nice ;-)) logon fields.
Is it possible to configure the page so that it looks like the old one?

Either you give SAP Implementation or Customer Implementation.I tried with both, may be you can give it a try for only SAP Implementation like this :

Launchpad logon screen

Hi all, looking for some advice here. We have 4.1 sp2.3 - and we had a great logon experience until recently. We started to get a badly formatted screen either via the load balancer or the server direct. it started intermittent and then came permanently like this - but not for all users.
We have a standard desktop so there is no difference between machines. We dont have admin rights, so security isnt an issue.
SAP Support have no idea, and neither do we
Any help gratefully received!

Redeploy the web apps. See if there is any improvement. I guess SAP support might have walke through all these steps.
Is this issue happening only with Launchpad or all the web apps?

Saving a new Fiori Launchpad catalog entry

Has anyone else trouble saving a new catalog-entrie in the Launchpad Designer?
It doesnt make no difference if i vary the length of the entries. Nor if i appoint a transport number or none (Local Object).
The suggestions about maintaining a customizing or workbench request in this link won't help either:

Check the versions that you are using (FF or Chrome) to make sure they are at or above the appropriate revision level.

New SAP Fiori Launchpad issues

Hi all,
I want to use the new Fiori Launchpad, but I ran into two issues:
1 - When I try to logon at the new Launchpad, the result is the following image:
Instead, the old Launchpad was this :
2- If I want to set the new Lanchpad URL in the APP 'SAP Fiori client', after the Logon procedure the home page does not appears .

Ok for this information but why is this not configured by default ?
As a customer, all these not standard configurations add a lot to the complexity and to the cost of implementing Fiori apps.
SAP marketing is always telling us that SAP FIORI is a set of plug and play applications.
This is obviously not the case and internally our managers wonder why it takes so much time and money to install "plug and play" applications.
The change of mind between the Launch Page and the Launch Pad is also so confusing...
When will the "Launch Something New" arrive ?
The SAP Customer Experience Group should really try to improve the SAP Customer Experience !

Fiori Launchpad - Are Catalogs Missing

Hi,
We are doing an install of FIORI, having upgraded our system to EHP 7 - and
SAP_UI 740 0007 SAPK-74007INSAPUI User Interface Technology 7.40.
We use a single server for the moment for the gateway and erp system.
I can access the Fiori apps using the old launchpage screen - no problem, having assigned the relevant Catalog Pages to the relevant roles.
I can access the new Fiori Launchpad and Launchpad Designer also no problem.
However, and maybe my understanding is incorrect here - i was thinking i should see a number of standard catalogs for the standard fiori apps that i could manipulate and assign to groups etc as required. Or this this incorrect? I see nothing new in LPD_CUST - i would have thought there should be new entries here for the various apps to link to ?
Or is it a case these all need to be created from scratch? I have gone through the help documentation a number of times and cannot make out how to generate these even if i need to - exactly what the links between LPD_CUST and a new app within the catalog are. I do have access within the designer to the tile templates but the help is not clear on how to link these to the standard fiori apps.
Am i missing something in the set up? is there further documentation available on the links required.

I don't know - In the help it references the following say, for Approve Requisitions:

But I see no reference to the above elements in my system. I am just wondering are they missing, should they be there? How do i get them there if they are missing and if not, how do i go about creating the require link for new tiles.

Fiori Launchpad - tile templates not available

Hi ,
In one of our client environment , only UI addon ( sp07 ) is installed in gateway system and custom SAPUI5 apps are developed.
I want to use New Fiori launchpad for catalog and tile creation . i am able to create catalog but when i try to add a tile the templates are unavailable.
Does tile templates are available only when one of the fiori UI component is installed or it available as a part of UI addon.
Right now i have to use old launchpage for tiles.

I have already implemented this note earlier , but now this note is updated with more patches of UI library, can updating the UI library to latest version will solve the problem ??

Fiori Launchpad displays a blank screen

I installed Fiori and everything appears to be configured ok. I then installed the backend components for Leave Requests (GBHCM002 and GBHCM003). I created a new catalog and group in the launchpad designer and assigned them to my role.
I activated the ICF services, and launchpad services via /iwfnd/maint_service. Services are assigned to LOCAL system alias and browser calls are successful and I see no errors when testing via the gateway client.

Add new button on SAP R/3 Logon screen( R/3.4.7) to "Forgot the Password"

We wanted to add a new option( Forgot password option) on the SAP Logon screen to Change password when they forgot the password.
But the user exit EXIT_SAPLSUSF_001 only triggers after the Logon.
*Our Current SAP Version is SAP R/3 4.7
Is there any other way, which allows,
1. add a button/ menu option on R/3 LOGON screen to include :"forgot apssword" option.when preseed/selected, it has to execute some piece of code( our own) with validation to change the password.
OR. is it possible to add an hyperlink next to password, and when pressed to execute /call a BSP(??) application to change the password in R/3. ?

Fiori Launchpad Designer configuration issue

Query 1 :
During "Launchpad Designer " configuration when we create Transport requests using scope=CONF to the url and click on "settings" button to create the package , i face the below error:
Error message : "error 400 bad request in Odata response for GET /SAP/OPU/ODATA/UI2/TRANSPORT/PACKAGE/ZLAOMySpend/:HTTP request failed" . Details :package ZXXOMySpend does not exist”
After which we created a new package under SE80 with the same PACKAGE name (ZXXOMySpend) , then when I clicked on “save” the above error was gone.
Is it the right step ?

To create a custom role in the gateway system (using PFCG tcode) to add the catalog and assign the role to needed users
Steps followed :
PFCG -->created a role using "single role"
selected "Transaction" and then selected the TYPE "Catalog"
When a popup arrived and selected the catalog created on the Fiori launchpad designer.
Earlier we were using the under transaction "TYPE" as "Catalog Provider" now is it changed to "catalog" ? as we dont see this option on the drop down.
could you please confirm the above?

Problem while deploying new logon screen par file via NWDS

hi
i have a problem with deploying .par files out of the NWDS.
i want to change the look of the logon screen in our EP Portal (SAP NetWeaver 2004s).
when i just import the (working one) par file into NWDS and deploy it without ANY changes i get then an error when trying to call the portal:
instead of the logonscreen i get some IView error (like IView: N/A).
if i just copy the par file, and put it back to the pcd, everything works fine.
my problem seems to be the "compiling/deploying" via NWDS.
any suggestions?

If you import the par file using NWDS, most likely you wouldn't import the associated jar files (I think 2 jars) that are originally part of the par file. So, when you make changes and update your custom jar, it would lack the two jars and your application would fail. Try downloading the par file using System Administration -> Support -> PCD Administration -> Browse Deployment..
Save the jar file on desktop and then import it to NWDS.

Fiori Launchpad Error: Failure - Unable to load groups Resolved!!!!

This is a solution rather than a discussion, which i thought to do to with a kind generosity of spirit to give back to the community.
It gives me immense pleasure and happiness to write this particular post, because it is through SCN only i have been able to find the solution.
Ok, let's get down to the Business quickly, shall we?
I have been configuring Fiori App - Approve Purchase Orders. All the tasks for this have been done from SAP Help Site.
Recently I upgraded the ERP/Gateway (Its an embedded deployment) to EHP 7 and UI to SP09, post which the Fiori Launchpad started giving the below error.

With the first thread, I tried everyone's solution and suggestions which had worked for others, but it didn't for me.
With second thread (Excellently posted by Masayuki Sekihara), it started off with lots of efforts and double-checks applying all of these notes hoping that it would resolve the issue. But I had done all the steps 1-8 and still didn't get the solution.
Besides the above two mentions I did umpteen number of other ridiculous things like implementing this note, that note, De-implementing another of the notes and everything i found as possible solutions on the Web.
Now, the breakthrough here is checking the errors in /IWFND/ERROR_LOG. Well, on the browser it used to give error 'Failure - Unable to Load Groups' while at the server side, actual error was something unusual and remotely not related to what the error looked like in the browser. In the back-end, I was getting the error "Data Provider implementation 'ZINTEROP_MODEL_0001_BE' '01' 'DEFAULT' does not exist". And this is something i know how to correct.
So just keep looking for the errors in /IWFND/ERROR_LOG and shift your focus there. That's really a good place to trouble-shoot.
And for the record to take care of the error 'Data Provider implementation 'ZINTEROP_MODEL_0001_BE' '01' 'DEFAULT' does not exist' you have to assign the DPC (Data Provider Class) to DMC (Data Modelling Class) correctly by navigating to IMG - SAP Netweaver - Gateway - Former Development - Local OData Channel Development - Registration - Assign Data Provider to Data Model. There you define the Data provider with the correct Software Version and Voila you are all set! You don't have to worry about the duplicate entry with another Software version, your correct software version is the one you have defined in the System Alias which you are using inside the service, which is generally DEFAULT.
I am able to get inside the Fiori Launchpad now (I was quite at edge to really give up as all the possible solutions had been ruled out for me ) and do see the tiles of the apps configured.
I hope this is going to be a good take-away for others who are having Odata handling issues.

If you still have the error, this is what I did to resolve mines.
1) Goto SPRO - SAP Netweaver - Gateway - Former Development - Local OData Channel Development - Registration - Assign Data Provider to Data Model
2) Find out the entry for 'ZINTEROP_MODEL_0001_BE'
3) Copy that entire row in a notepad for all the fields
4) Create new Entry with all the fields, except change the Software Version to DEFAULT (As that's what missing for you'
5) Save and give that another try.
This is what I exactly wrote in my solution as well.

A screen-shot perhaps helps you more.
Let the other duplicate entry with Software Version other than Default be there. Important is that the software version that you have defined in your alias must be the one over here.

Fiori Launchpad suddenly got empty

Hello ,
The fiori launchpad was working fine until today (the UI add on was patched couple of weeks ago to SP11. We are trying to integrate it into portal and today i went ahead and implemented the noclickjacking fiorilaunchpad.html
Tested again and the direct fiorilaunchpad was fine and i could see my apps and tiles
After may be 15 mins i tried to open the fiori LP and i get completely blue screen with nothing on it (like nothing is assigned). If i click on tile catalog it finds absolutely nothing. I have tried it with different users - still empty.
I have checked and there are no errors in error_log not in slg1,
A direct call for approve requisition app http://xxxxx:8000/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/shells/abap/FioriLaunchpad.html?sap-client=100&sap-language=EN#PurchaseRequition displays the correct data and i can see several requisitions that need to be approved.
So i think it is not related to roles and authorizations.
A user that has admin gateway and ui admin role can not delete the group from homescreen - if i click on it and want to drag it nothing appears down right It was also working before
The frontend has been restarted, icm cache and browser cache cleared as well, the odata services were deactivated and activated again.
The admin url works fine too.
I have also tried reverting to the original launchpad.html file but it makes no difference the problem persists
Any ideas?
P.S i have implemented the notes for SP11 and have been through the launchpad troubleshooting guide but may be i am missing something...

Unable to consume HTML5 app in Fiori Launchpad@HCP

Hi all,
I've developed an HTML5 application that works ok and I can consume it correctly when launched standalone.
Now I'd like to integrate it into the Fiori Launchpad but I'm getting some errors.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
My WebIDE workspace is as follows:
The application structure was created freestyle without templates, but I sticked to UI5 best practices.
The HTML5 application name is: taskinbox
The component.js is declared as follows:
The application is configured on the launchpad as follows:
I know that I should reconfigure the configuration.js file but at the moment I'd like just to display the screen, even if the service call fails.
At runtime I get this error:
I am unable to troubleshoot this, can anyone please share some insight?

I've tried to change the value of the component URL to '/', but now a new error is generated:
Also if I restore the previous value (/taskinbox) the same error stays on.
Not sure whether the UI5 application should be structured differently.
Is the general structure of the application ok?

Mixed content error for FIORI launchpad designer

Dear team,
I have activated a ERP trial on AWS via CAL. Fiori launchpad and designer opens and works properly but when I am creating new tiles in a catalog, none of information on tile gets saved.
I checked in Chrome console and following error is recorded when saving a tile:

Please open the launchpad designer with http (not https). If you can not logon via http, change the protocol to "Do not switch" in the SICF setting.

Insert Button on SAP GUI Logon Screen

is it possible to insert a button on the SAP GUI logon screen like the "new password" button?
We want to insert a button, with which the user can generate a new initial password, if he has forgotten his password.

Well, I'd propose to leave the SAPGUI screen untouched but only place a comment on the logon screen (see [note 205487|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/205487]) which informs the user on a URL to a web application (BSP) which provides the desired "forgotten password" self-service functionality.
In the internet you find many examples of such "forgotten password" self-services - good ones and not so good ones. What all of them have in common is the requirement that the user has provided a valid email address or mobile number (during the account registration) which can be used for the required off-band communication. However they differentiate in the way they try to mitigate misuse: some prompt for a so-called passphrase (in most cases: the user has entered a free-text answer to a question chosen from a fixed set of predefined questions, during accoutn registration) before sending a newly created password to the email address retrieved from the user account; others generate a (random) "password change token" which they send to the email address and prompt the user to enter this "password change token" on the webpage (the account remains untouched until the correct "password change token" was entered, in most cases this is also time-restricted). I prefer the latter one.
