New Firefox Issue

I downloaded the new Firefox and now every time I scroll over anything it disappears?

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

• New Firefox 4 - Question is anyone also have an issue with it unlocking the lock in my network preferences on Imac?

This happens every time I start my computer - I check my Airport Status and find that the pad lock is un locked - this is new since I installed the new Firefox 4. Was previously on Firefox.
Has anyone else reported this problem?

I've seen this, as well, on an iPhone 4s.  Eventually the high-data-usage went away, seemingly on it's own (and after calling AT&T a couple of times to get the overage removed from my bill).
Having said that, one thing to check is to turn "Documents & Data" off...  Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data.  I'm thinking this can push and pull a lot of data to/from iCloud very quickly.  Photos under iCloud might do the same...
Hope this helps...

• When I click on a new link, it opens a whole new firefox instead of using my default which is running in the background

I have firefox as my default browser. Anytime I click on an email or search for something, instead of opening my default browser, firefox loads a new firefox page. It is a blank page just as if I had never had one. It has nothing on it except how you would start out before you set up your tabs and history etc. My default firefox is still there running in the background but I must click on it and manually put in the link I was trying to open.
Any suggestions.

• Windows 8. I open a new firefox and get on a page. When I click on a link, example my schools website, it goes to a random page.

I have a new laptop, windows 8. I have Avira, popup blockers. This is what happens:
I open Firefox. It goes directly to google.com, my home page. I click on say my schools website and I go to put the cursor on the login and it opens up this random webpage in a new tab. It does this every time I start up firefox. I have the default popup blocker on, my popup blocker and it still happens. It is quite annoying. Instead of the pointer finger it is the arrow and doesn't do what I'm trying to do.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

new firefox 10.0 wont let me open mult windows, only tabs. I have looked at tools/options/tabs and the open new windows in tabs is not clicked. have rebooted computer with no better results

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

• How do I pair an older Firefox with bookmarks with the new Firefox system without pairing function?

Firefox is fantastic except when I have a problem. I must be real stupid. I have sent questions about different issues in the past and I see I got a lot of help. Unfortunately I cannot read any results. That is why I quit Firefox for a while. I just decided to give it another try; Firefox is worth it.
I have had Firefox installed on my "Win 7 Home" laptop for some time without updating it. It contains all my bookmarks from some time back. I just came back to Firefox and installed it on both my desktop machines with Win 7 Pro. The new Firefox sync and pairing are different. I cannot pair my old laptop with my new machines to copy all my bookmarks. I also cannot pair my two desktops.
What makes it worse, I cannot get the laptop to join the same home group my desktops are in. I tried different combinations with each computer and laptop creating the home group, but I could not get either desktop to be in the same home group as the laptop. The desktops would join each other's home group but not the laptop's. I can see all machines are connected to my home network. This dummy needs help.

Hi watashi,
Welcome back :-) I would be very happy to help you out. The new version of Firefox 29 has a new sync. It just came out, so there is no worries about not knowing. Almost easy as pie: How to update to the new Firefox Sync
If anything is confusing, please post back so we can help you further and make that article a little more clear if need be :-)

• How Do I Print Each Frame Separately in the new Firefox

Before the recent Firefox update, in the print screen used to be an option to print each frame separately. Now, that option is gone. Does anyone know how to have it print each frame separately in the new Firefox? I work with a webpage where if I try to print, the first page prints, but the others are all blank. In the past, selecting each frame separately fixed this issue.

Hi,
You can try to update Firefox to check. You can also right-click on the page > This Frame > Print this frame.

If the problem persists, you can consider the Reset Firefox feature via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.
(To revert to the previous profile you were using, close the new profile (i.e. exit Firefox), start Firefox and choose the Default User profile. While the Profile Manager is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers), or the former profile, as the case may be). If the reset is okay, it would be a good idea to delete the old profile as otherwise it would be left intact with the previous data until deleted.

• Firefox does not open a new tab when you click the plus sign button which is actually a shortcut for opening a new tab. You have to open a new firefox window in order to get a new tab. Please help. Thanks.

I didn't have this problem before with Firefox. My kids must have pressed something or clicked on something that's the open new tab button does not function anymore. No matter how you click it, it doesn't open a new tab. Even if you click on file, then go to new tab, it still doesn't open a new tab. You have to open a new firefox window in order to do multiple browsing.
Hope you can help resolve this problem.
Sincerely,
Ems Guillarte

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened. Checking your list of add-ons, the MyPlayCity toolbar is a version of the Ask toolbar.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

• Every time I try to download the new Firefox I get this message when it relaunches, " Invalid Request You requested a page that does not exist. You may have reached this page by clicking on an invalid link or bookmark." What should I do?

This happens with every browser I try to download that isn't the old 3.0 version of Firefox

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If this doesn't help, try ending any Firefox processes and completely restart it. If none of this helps you might consider you could have Malware or something nastier. Connection issues can also cause that error message. I remember having the same issue a couple of years ago and had to completely restart my PC for some reason to get the new Firefox to install. Sorry I don't have any more in depth answer.
Hope this helped you, have a nice day.

• Just updated Firefox to 3.6.9 Adobe was updated also. Why does Adobe keep trying to update everytime a new Firefox window is started?

• Every time I open a new Firefox window a dowload dialog box opens

Every time I open a new Firefox window, a download dialog box opens with the last youtube .flv file that I converted to an mp3 from www.flv2mp3.com and the box offers the options to open it or save it. I have to click cancel it every time (or try opening it or saving it) to make it to go away. If I open a new tab or new window while I still have the original window open, it doesn't do it. Is this a glitch in Download Helper or did I get a never ending script from flv.com, or what?

why is the new firefox constantly blinking on my screen? everything else is fine but firefox now blinks and is unusable in 4.0

Hi DGuerra, based on a past thread, the missing comments may be related to using avast! and its browser add-on(s).
Firefox is so easy to customize that it's not really surprising to find differences between two systems. These can relate to the menu choices (orange Firefox button or classic menu bar), toolbar layouts, and of course, add-ons.
If you have a preference for one setup versus another, hopefully these articles can equalize some of those layout issues:
* Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar
* Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars
You can compare extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
Perhaps you can get the two side-by-side to make it easier, or to extract a text list, you can use the troubleshooting information page. Either:
* Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
The button in the upper left corner "Copy text to clipboard" will grab the configuration information from entire page.

• I have Old Firefox Data folder before i formated my laptop . but i just cant find how to use this folder for my new firefox to regain all the bookmarks i had.

I had some issue with my Firefox (it crashes when i starts), so i format my laptop to factory setting and now i got new Firefox installed and left with this Old Firefox Data folder.
my question is :
Ii understand the profile in my Old Firefox Data contains my Bookmarks and information i previously had before i formatted, i just do not know how to apply this Old Firefox Data to my new Firefox to get what i need.
How do i use Old Firefox Data to restore all my bookmarks and information?

You can move some files from the "Old Firefox Data" folder to the current Firefox profile folder.
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
It is best to only copy what you need and avoid copying the full profile content.
