New firmware and downstream rate

I have upgraded my DSL line to 512kb and needed to confirm a few things.
What should my downstream and upstream rate be approximately ? Also why does my ISP i need to get in a technician to reset the router from internally because my downstream rate currently reflects 288kbps.See below.
DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: FAST
Downstream Rate: 288 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 160 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 23 db
Upstream Margin: 31 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 49
Upstream Line Attenuation: 31
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

So you are telling me that the update is intended to be confusing and slower than the previous version? Im not happy at all with this... I wish the Firmware was reversable.

  • New firmware and factory reset

    Hi
I was wondering if an automatic update to the new firmware could have caused my phone to factory reset on its own?
    Anybody has the same experience?
    Thanks

Normally not,but in some cases that does occur. Why? I cannot say.It could be a malfunction of the update tool or some app acting up.

  • E72 New Firmware and no more Call Log!!! Please he...

Hello. I just recently upgraded my Nokia E72-2 to version 051.018 and while most everything seems to still work (don't see any major improvements anywhere), I have completely LOST the ability to check my call logs!
If I click on Log from Applications, nothing happens at all.
All I get are missed call notifications on my home screen which never go away obviously as I can't ever "check" them in the Log. So, I have an ever-building list of missed calls in my home screen.
I can't redial anyone as pressing the "Call" button does nothing now.
Does anyone else have these issues? Anyone have a fix? Can we downgrade? I've tired soft reset, hard reset, re-install software...nothing works.
    This is pretty ridiculous, Nokia.
    Details:
    Model: E72-2
    Type: RM-529
    Version: 051.018
    Custom Version: 051.018C00_850.01

    Just reset your phones.
I have V51 on my E72 and have never experienced any of the problems mentioned in this thread or in any thread related to the V51 update.
Start by doing a backup of the phone's memory to your memory card (that's in the file manager). Then do a soft reset by dialling *#7370# and providing your security code (the default on all Nokia handsets is 12345).
The phone will then reboot, wiped clean. Go straight into the file manager and restore your backup, and the phone should now work fine.
FWIW, whenever I get a new Nokia handset, the first thing I do is a reset, before even using the phone.

  • WRT110 - I upgraded to new firmware and always loose connection

My router was running fantastic under 1.03 version never an issue. Then I figured i would check for updates and I updated. I wish I didnt. I constantly loose connection to internet and the router. I tried refashing several times. I read everything I can get my hands on. I would really like to get the previous version firmware bake to 1.03 if anyone knows where i can download it or has it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

When you Updated the Firmware of your Router, did you reset your Router. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
I think this will solve your problem.

  • N93 new firmware and media key

Ok, I asked this in the software update forum, but to no avail and i hope someone can answer me in here
I recently upgraded my N93 firmware to V20.
Now I've noticed that before the upgrading I could press and hold the media key to access the musicplayer instantly and after the upgrade when I press and hold the media key it starts the catalog download function.
I want to know if this was intended to act this way and if I could (and more importantly: how!) reassign the media key back to access the musicplayer with only press and hold.

i dont think he is holding down the key...maybe just pressing it...i also used a friends N93 and it has the same problem...sorry Nokia considers these things "feature"
im not sitting and waiting for 85.8mb to download again....i'll just sell my N93 and keep the N93i which by the way
    1.takes better photos
2.No black and white recording in night video mode
    3.Better display
    4.battery lasts(shockingly) as long as the N93
    5.auto focus in video mode
    6.no crashing(as yet)
    7.better build
8.can use the outer screen to take self potriats(reflection)
    9.better "looking" phone
    10.no fw problems
what i dont understand is how the N93i and N93 are the same phone only a few minor adjustments and Nokia cant seem to get the N93 working but the N93i is great....cant they apply the same fw on N93i to N93?

  • New Firmware and DVD+R DL???

I can not test until tonight, but I was curious if anyone having problems burning DVD+R DL disks is able to successfully burn a DL after upgrading the firmware.
Since Apple does not post what the firmware addresses, I am hoping it solves the problem, but I am not holding my breath.

Upgrading the firmware did NOT solve my DL burning problems, but my monitor has been flickering oddly whenever the computer wakes up since I installed it. Could be a coincidence.
I have read reports that another optical drive problem, the one in which already-burned discs were being treated as blank recordable media—was fixed in the update.

  • There is a new firmware for my N70 but NSU says ot...

I have an N70 which currently has firmware version 5.0609.2.0.1 installed on it. I am pretty sure that there is a newer version available as confirmed in the software update availability page here.
When I use my product code (which is 0523985) it says that the latest version is 5.0705.3.0.1 which is far newer than what is on my phone right now but when I use Nokia Software Updater it says "No software update available for your phone"!
I have also read the post by karim titled: "Please read this on the Nokia Updater - Important advice".
It does mention this problem but I don't have any idea about to which Email should I send my product code! Can I have more info on that?
Also to mention again, my product code is 0523985
    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings everyone.
I contacted Nokia Support, and they sent me some info on how to get support locally some days ago. However, I plugged my phone again today and voila! to my surprise, it detected the new firmware and right now that I'm typing, I am updating to the new version.
I'm not sure but I think I should thank Nokia Support for registering my Product Code and certainly for responding to my request in quite a short time.
I should also thank all the other guys who gave me help on this issue, specially scoopyman.

  • New firmware update doen't allow me to see all files in iPod library...

I have a 5G/ 60GB iPod, updated to the new firmware, and I have found that now there is no way to see a "Library" style depiction of all the files on my iPod, ala the iTunes "Library" category. I have podcasts that I manage manually which do not display as "Podcasts", and the easiest way to add and delete them (sometimes I duplicate them by mistake when adding from my other computer at work)was from the "Library" style view when the iPod device name was selected. Now those podcasts do not appear in the "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", or "Audiobooks" categories. I CAN view them by date in the "Recently Added" playlist, but duplicates cannot be deleted from this playlist. I there a "View all Files" sort of option I am unaware of, or any other solution (3rd Party) to access/ edit/ remove these files?

The checking and unchecking of songs is done in iTunes, not on the shuffle.  And that may affect what is loaded in the shuffle during automatic syncing.  So first check what is actually loaded on the shuffle.
If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, find your shuffle under DEVICES.  Click the small trianle to the left of the shuffle name to drop down its content list (indented below the shuffle).  Click on Music there.  The list of songs currently on the shuffle is shown to the right.  Are the songs that do not play on that list, or not on that list?

  • 5700 New Firmware 3.83.1 ,what are the additions??...

I updated my firmware version, searched everywhere 2 see what new things were added in this firmware but i found none...
All i noticed was that the camera shutter sound became much lower, marking more than one pic and moving them to a folder is ok now... and the loudspeaker volume is louder (im not so sure as i might be just excited by the new firmware and i cant get a phone with the older firmware to compare to, but anyways now im satisfied by the loudspeaker volume)
Stupid thing is that the music player still keeps working in the background once started, and u have 2 shut it using the old way (noticed it wasnt mentioned here b4 so i'll post it in another thread)
So anybody noticed any other differences??

The Phone Speed HAs Become Some What Faster
When U change The Menu View To V-shaped Or Horse Shoe Then In The Old Firmware It was Slow But Now In 3.83.1 It Is Faster

  • By the time new firmware?

The more we wait phone users to solve the problems of the firmware 40?
We have now spent too much time with bugs, and without solution.

Look at  another way by not having the new firmware you are saved the bother of not being able to use the phone as you did before ,  dont need to post saying xxx dont work no more  ,do not have to go posting bug reports , nor complain about the new firmware and want to revert to your old firmware .

  • E63 501.21.001 Firmware and Maps

i just downloaded new ovi suite, and and it told that map updates are available. great. i downloaded them and they worked. i don't remember the version (3.0 maybe) but it was with green compass logo.
then it told me that new firmware is available 501.21 i flashed new firmware and downloaded maps again. now the maps look different! they look more de-featured and older!  (v2.0? Copyright 2007-2008) there is less choice of voices to download. what gives? what kind of update is it that it de-features programs.
    1) can i downgrade to older firmware? return to what i originally had?
    2) when will navigation be free? the reason i bough nokia is that i though maps and navigation was free. its on the main site and everything. when will it be available on E63?
    thanks.

You could of course download this version:http://static.s2g.gate5.de/nokiamaps-client/nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis
    1) Connect your phone to PC in Mass Storage mode.
    2) Save that file onto your phone.
    3) Disconnect phone.
Locate file with phone's File Manager and install the application onto your phone.
