New Firmware Fix Cisco bug ID CSCtn23871?

In the Cisco Security Advisory released on May 25th, it said the firmware to fix CSCtn23871 would be released June 10th. That never happened. But now a firmware version has been released with the 2.0.2.1 version number that was supposed to fix the vulnerabilities from this Security Advisory. Does this new firmware update fix CSCtn23871? There are no release notes for this firmware, which was released 5 days ago.

Hi,
If only one 7962 is affected you can try a factory reset using the following steps, else try connecting this 7962 to the switchport where a working 7942 is connected and see if it changes anything.
Unplug the power cable from the phone and then plug it back in. The phone begins its power up cycle.
While the phone is powering up, and before the Speaker button flashes on and off, press and hold #. Continue to hold # until each line button flashes on and off in sequence in amber.
Release # and press 123456789*0#.

The sound on any unencoded WMV has been staticky was well. Don't WMVs use WMA for their audio track? Does the firmware fix this?

All I heard was it fixed WMA files, not necessarily the audio on WMV.

Does anyone know what the new firmware fixes

I'm not sure that's accurate. As I recall, the old iMac G3's had a firmware update that was not a fix, but a modification, a preparation for the then planned new OS X. There are some of those old machines still operating flawlessly today even without ever having had the firmware update ..... they just can't run OS X without it!

5800 - Does new firmware fix auto-rotate problems ...

Ever since V 50.0.005 I've had problems with auto-rotate stopping working after a while (memory leak anyone ?) with a reboot being required to fix it. DAK if this is fixed in V 51.0.006 because if it is I'll go through the hassle of changing my product code to get it early as it's driving me nutzzzzz.

The real issue lies somewhere else.. atleast thats what I think because I did not face such problem on my Nokia 5800 xm with v 50.0.005. It was happenning just occassionaly and not so frequently or permanently as some posts suggest.
Auto rotate should work perfectly when the phone is held vertically.i.e. the top and bottom edges at same distance from the body.. Normaly when the phone is held in palm the bottom edge is nearer than the top edge as it is slanting. The feature will not work 100% in this condition...

New firmware fixes my intense heat

im runnin photobooth and like 9 safaris and proably 8 more other programs to test heat and it took like 15 minutes for it to get just warm, not luke warm but warm/not hot, not burnin hot like it used to, can anyone confirm this?

My MacBook Pro was hotter than Hades when on AC power. Seemed that it was usually hottest when charging the battery (magsafe led in orange state). After the battery was fully charged it would cool a bit but still seemed excessively hot.
I read all the posts as all of you have I'm sure. In one post from another thread, there were instructions on Installing the updated firmware and then calibrating your battery.
I did this yesterday and I am happy to report my Macbook is MUCH cooler today. The battery does get hot during the inital charging but that is normal.
Perhaps it is just in my head, but I really don't think so.
So if this thread is still being read by those of you with heat issues. Please do the following and post your results.
1. update your firmware. (OS X 10.4.6 update is a prerequisite for the firmware update, so make sure you do software update first.)
2. Calibarate your battery.
The right way to calibrate your battery is to fully charge your battery, then let the battery rest by staying on AC power while using your machine or just leaving it on for at least 2 hours. Then remove AC power and use your machine and let the battery drain until you get the low battery warning. Save your work if you aere in the middle of something. continue to use your machine until it goes to slee. Allow it to sleep or turn it off for at least 5 hours. Then charge your battery again.
I hope this helps, it sure did make a difference on my machine.

RE1000 WPS BUG - Request New Firmware

I have noticed that when I turn off WPS in the extender, I can connect to the extender but only for 3 mins, then it connects back to the router.
I think we all need a new firmware with this bug fixed.

I am seeing this issue as well on 3 RE1000 units. We should be able to disable WPS without causing the RE1000 from losing connectivity every 40 seconds or so. The loss of connectivity only lasts about 3 seconds but that is disruptive to the functionality of the extender. I am using hardware version 1.5

N85 need a new firmware with CPU Clockrate upgrade...

Just Like Nokia 5800XM we need new firmware with less bugs and also Upgrading the CPU clockrate to 434Mhz which possible as we seen it on Nokia 5800XM for N85
any Opinions about it?

That is not going to happen as the processor on the N85 is already running at it's maximum clock speed.
The 5800 was underclocked (not overclocked) due to instabilities of the new v5 operating system. Once they had fixed the problems they restored it to it's actual speed.
Nokia will never overclock a device so it is not possible to increase the clock speed of the N85.
If you want a faster but similar phone you will need to upgrade to an N86.

1.0.4 firmware: What's new or fixed?

Did anyone else get prompted to do a nano firmware update to 1.0.4 this morning? What was new or fixed?

From the ReadMe which accompanies that update, it looks like this new firmware brings with it:
• Fixed issue which resulted in some incorrect daylight savings date settings
• Thai song information tags now display properly after syncing iPod nano in disk mode
• Other minor bug fixes

Bug in New Firmware V50.0.005 for Nokia 5800 Xpres...

Hi I am facing some bug in new Firmware V50.0.005
1) In the music library it is not showing any song.(i am having arround 500 songs in memory card)
2) If i try to refresy the library, it will not complete the process. (i.e. continuesly it will show refreshing and i have manuly stoped after 1 hour). and still no songs in all songs list.
3)While playing radio it will hang after some time.(After 15 min to half an hour). you have to restart your phone to close that radio application. (no other go)
If any Solution is there for this please let me know.

For the radio problem, You may have to try to reinstall your firmware, or failing that, you may have to do a reset.
For the music library:
1. Connect your 5800 to you PC in Mass Storage Mode
2. On your PC you will need to have allowed to “Show” hidden files, do this from Explorer/Tools/ Folder Options/ View and select “Show hidden files and Folder”
3. Open your SD memory card/Removable Disk in My Computer on PC
4. Go to E:\ Private there you will see 3 folders 101f8857, 101ffca9 and 10281e17 .
5. Go to Private\101f8857\Cache\E there you will see .dat files. Delete all the .dat file BUT NOT the E Folder. Shown above right
6. Now go to Private\101ffca9 there you will see another .dat file, Delete the dat file NOT the folder.
7. Finally go to Private\10281e17 There you should see 4 files 2 are Mp3 files other are Podcast files. Delete mpxv2_2.db & mpxv2_2.db-journal for Mp3 files list and Delete pcv6_1.db & pcv6_1.db-journal for Podcast files list. Shown above right
8. Close all windows and disconnect your Phone. Go to Music Library and it should automatically start a refresh.

Bug in new firmware 7.0 for 6300 cannot create per...

There is bug in new firmware 7.0 for nokia 6300 and maybe all 40 series.
I am not able to create access point which is necessary to access internet with java applications.
When I go Settings -> Configuration -> Personal config.sett. -> Add -> Access point (but also if I choose any other from list)
Then i go back and there is no new access point. In previous version of firmware it created access point.
Do anyone know about this issue ?
How can I tell to Nokia support that there is this bug ?

I went to local Nokia service, and they told me that probably it was wrongly flashed. So I reinstalled firmware two more time, but it always have the same problem. Is there someone with 6300 that have the newest firmware and can test this ?

Last week I updated the firmware of my E61 to version 2 and I really regret it. (is there anyway of going back to the old firmware? ) I cant stand pressing blue function key when I browse the web on my E61 every single time I want to use a shortcut, it gets reallllly annoing after a few times. I think most of E61 users will agree with me that this 'bug' ruined this update. Also there seems to be a problem with mp3 player. When an equaliser preset is active it goes off every time you change the song and you have to press volume up or down in order to set it on active again. I know there are more bugs in this new firmware but I think those two I mentioned are bothering me the most. I would also be very very thankful if the new firmware will have support for PAP for EAP-TTLS. (or maybe a separate plugin ?) any replies are welcome (especially from the Nokia staff )

The iPad 4, which is now also called the iPad with retina display, essentially replaces the iPad 3, which is no longer available except as a refurbished product. The naming is confusing, as both the iPad 3 and iPad 4 had a retina display. There are stories about some stores allowing an exchange for the iPad 4 if you bought the iPad 3 within the last 30 days, but there's nothing official from Apple on that, and it seems to vary from store to store. I called my local Apple store, and they said no, but I'm waiting for a call back from a manager to confirm this.

Is there a fix for bug CSCsk86712 on Cisco IOS routers?

I have a Cisco 1941 router running IOS version 15.0 (1r) M16. I am trying to open a range of udp ports but I was told by Cisco TAC that the router won't do it because of this bug on the software. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm sorry to report there are no planned releases to fix this bug. Unfortunately, the only way to open a range of ports is by entering them in manually.
