New Flash Version 11.4.402.265  Crashing IE9 On Exit

New Dell Vostro 3750 running W7 pro x64
This latest update is causing IE9 to crash every time on exit. In desperation I have tried a clean install of W7 with the same results. As soon as this version is installed IE9 crashes.

Previous versions run with no issues.
Where do I go from here ?????

Hi,
Could you please try to disable Hardware Acceleration? http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_7__Disable_Fl ash_Player_hardware_acceleration
Thanks,

  • Tried latest Flash version 11.4.402.265, but ?????

Installed Flash version 11.4.402.265 last night (e.g. clean install).
Using Window 7 64 bit and FireFox 13.0.1.
Computer very slow this morning and when I had 2 Flash instances open,it just about died.
Anyone tried this latest and greatest version yet?

I have tried 11.4.402.265 with firefox 15 beta sound is workin but video is like a slide show and disabling hardware acceleration has no difference. Also is hard to shut down a you tube video have to force shutdown ff in windows.
11.2.0.235 is working but this is no solution in the long run.
Hope that adobe can sort out the problem but they dont do anything if nobody complaining.
So my advise send emails atleast one a day to adobe and complain about it and hope couple thousand do the same.
And sorry for my language im not so good in english.
Ps. Installed FF 16 beta and trying soon again.

  • Flash Player 11.4.402.265 and Firefox 15/15.0.1 Not Compatible?

I have mentioned this in two recent posts, but wanted to start a new thread to call attention to what I believe is an important issue.
Starting with the update of Firefox 15, and continuing into version 15.0.1, my Firefox browser has logged a series of "silent" crashes.  By silent I mean that there was no visible sign that a crash had taken place.  I found out about them by typing about:crashes into Firefox's address bar.  (I actually do this about once per week just to make sure that there are no problems that should be addressed.)
All of the crashes--and there were dozens--were "empty" in that no source could be identified.  Specifically, the following appeared at the top of each crash report:
Firefox Crash Reports [@ EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump ]
In addition, the crashes were intermittent.   I checked this out by constantly checking for new crashes after calling up various web sites.  For instance, I would would go to Google News, check for a crash report, go to a feature story, check for a crash report, watch a YouTube video, check for a crash report, close Firefox, open it, check for a crash report, etc.  What I found was that I often would visit 20 or more sites before a crash report was filed; however,  an average of  ten crashes appeared daily--again, all with NO indication of what had caused the crash.
At first, I could see no pattern, so I troubleshooted by enabling/disabling hardware acceleration for both Firefox and Flash Player, enabling/disabling cookies, enabling/disabling JavaScript, etc. I spent several hours doing this.
I also scoured the various Firefox "help" forums, but it seemed that the same answers appeared on all of the forums, and they pretty much echoed the troubleshooting steps I had taken. (It seems that the major issue now is the fact that hardware acceleration causes Firefox 15.0.1 to crash for many users.)
Finally, I noticed that I had been on a site containing an embedded flash video, just prior to a crash.  (Interestingly, I never received a crash report after watching a YouTube video on YouTube.)   I then tried disabling Protected Mode in Flash Player, which worked several months ago after the new "sandboxing" provision was introduced, and was found to be incompatible with the then-version of Firefox. So far, this has stopped all crashes.  After three days of normal usage and surfing, there have been no reports, whereas, prior to doing this, I was averaging at least one per hour.
This leads me to believe that the designers of the  latest version of Firefox have either omitted whatever code string was used to fix the problem that occurred last June, or some new, incompatible code has been included.    Either way, I think that this should be looked into by BOTH Adobe and Mozilla as soon as possible--but especially by Mozilla, since Flash Player 11.4.402.265 worked just fine with Firefox 14.0.1.
It should be noted, by the way, that I did a recent check of Firefox's "top crashers" and the empty crash report is by far the most common--over 877,000 at the time I checked.  If I understood the graph, there has been an escallation since the introduction of version 15.0.  How many of them are silent, and therefore, unnoticed by the users, is anyone's guess, but I suspect that I'm not the only user on the planet this is happening to.
In case it's needed, I'm using:
Windows 7, Home Premium Service Pack 1 (Windows Classic user interface)
    Firefox 15.0.1
    Flash Player 11.4.402.265
Hardware Acceleration disabled for both Firefox and Flash Player
Since all of my crash reports, prior to disabling Protected Mode, were useless, I have deleted them.

This appeared before I disabled Flash Player's Protected Mode, but coincides with one of the empty crashes reported in Firefox.  I know nothing about Windows crashes, where to find the reports, etc.

    Hi schützenkönig:
Many thanks for posting!  As you can see, I made my initial post over a week ago, and since there were no responses, I thought perhaps I was the only one this was happening to!
In any event, disabling Protected Mode is the only way I've found to prevent the crashes from happening.
I posted about this on the mozillazine forum -- http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2551745&sid=7e877237158ffdc560789fb668c 858c0 -- but didn't get very far.  Apparently, Firefox is blaming Adobe and has no plans to do anything about it.  I was given some reassurance, however, by the comment that adblock plus offers protection from harmful flash content.
By the way, I made a follow on post when I downloaded the latest version of Flash Player -- 11.4.402.278  -- http://forums.adobe.com/message/4708561#4708561
Unfortunately, it did nothing to fix the problem.

  • Problems with the new flash version.

Turned on my computer (win 7, ff5) and found that both skype and youtube are crippled.
After some digging, it becomes clear that there has been a new flash version and im far from the only one with problems. I try to use the uninstaller - which works suspiciously quickly- and reinstall. I get a message saying that its already installed. When i try through firefox direct, it says an existing version may be in use.
So either the uninstaller or the installer is broken.
When on youtube for example, it alternates between telling me i need to update the plugin and to download  from adobe. I have now done this several times, following the instructions. No suscess.
Have tried to change the hardware accelleration off, but as i cant see anything thats flash.... its not going well.

    Is your Win7 32-bit or 64-bit?
    What files do you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash (32-bit) / C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash (64-bit) ?

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265 not working

Adobe was working fine until I applied the latest update. Now, it is not being recognized at all. I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3. I have tested it on multiple sites. The browsers I have tried are Chrome, IE, and Firefox. Whenever I try to load a page requiring Flash, it tells me it is missing or needs to be upgraded. I have seen other posts having the same issue, but no solutions. I definitly have Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265 installed. I have done all the basics. Cookies and cache have been cleared. Laptop has been rebooted. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash. Any ideas?

Uninstalled and reinstalled things a second time, and we seem to be up and running now. I guess it was just waiting for me to ask before it decided to work.

  • Flash Player 11.4.402.265 no audio issue

    Hi,
The flash player 11.4.402.265 on my PC does not stream audio from this radio station http://www.my.com.my
    Browser: ie8, ie9, Firefox, Chrome.
    Please assist.
    Thank you
    Tuck

    Hi Hitomi,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried the suggestion in your link before I open this discussion. That did not work for me.
    To open the radio,
    a. on the top of the page. There is a black/grey(some dark colour button with an arrow)
    b. In ie9 click on it.
    c. There will be a drop down with "MY FM", MY FM Kuching" and "MY FM KK"
    d. Select any one of those dropdown. That should open the radio. None worked for me.
Or you can try this link.
    http://d1q052wx5lf2ip.cloudfront.net/amp/public/20120413_1400/myfm/assets/swf/main.4.swf
When the page opens... I only get a spinning white circle on the right after the volume slide bar.
This site use to work on my computer. I have no idea when I upgrade to flash 11.4 as I have uninstalled it and reinstall the flash player on my computer to try to make this work.

  • Flash Player 11.3.300.265 Crashes when paused video/stream loses focus to a different firefox window

Whenever I have a video or stream in fullscreen and paused and I try and use my other screen for firefox, it will crash.
I have the latest update of flash player (11.3.300.265) & firefox (13.01, also tried 14.0 beta)
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have hardware acceleration disabled in both firefox and flash.

    Hi,
I had the same. Adobe blamed RealPlayer for the bug but that's not true. It's the protected mode. You have to turn it off via editing a file manually.

  • I have loaded the new Flash version into Firfox several times, but none of my sites recognize it when using Firefox. It works fine on all other browsers, but I would prefer to use Firfox if this problem can be solved.

I use Firefox 4.0.1 on a Mac running Os X10.5.8. When I try to run Facebook or other sites that are heavy users of Flash I get a message that the new version of Flash must be loaded. I have loaded the latest version several times, but still get the message and these sites will not run on Firefox. The sites run fine with Safari or Chrome but I prefer to use Firefox if it can be made to run these sites. Thank you for any suggestions you have to help fix this problem.

Apparently it's related to the Firefox plug in.
This isn't exactly a solution but more of a way to avoid opening PDFs with Firefox's plug in.
    1. Highlight "Tools" from the Menu Bar in the top left of the screen (or click "Options" if using the Firefox Compact Menu)
    2. Select to "Options
    3. Select "Applications"
    4. Look for "Adobe Acrobat Document" under Content Type and to the right under Action select "Use Adobe Reader (default)" instead of the using Adobe Acrobat in Firefox
    5. Open a test PDF. It should open in it's own window now.
Again, not a complete solution but something that'll at least let you scroll with PDFs open.

  • New flash version?

I heard Adobe will release a new version of Flash designed for animators? Is this true? Here in the studio we still use Flash CS3. In CS4 there are files that take 30 minutes to open. We had some issues with CS5 to when opening files created in CS3, like masks not working.. So I hope there will be a lighter version specific for animation, or we'll probably move to ToonBoom.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Can't download new flash version 10.1

I am using Windows Vista, Mozilla Firefox and have uninstalled version 10.
This happened last time there was an upgrade.
I try to install new version and get a message bar at top that says : "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page."
I click the button that says "Install Missing Plugins" and get an "unknown" plugin called gp.xpi and then my computer doesn't know what to do with it and neither do I.  It asks what program I want to use to open this and I don't know.
Anyway, I can't get beyond this point.  Have restarted computer after uninstalling.  Have tried reinstalling 10 and nothing helps.  I can't find reference to this plugin in other forums.
    Any help?

    Thank you so much
I've had that almost identical problem trying to upgrade Flash Player into Firefox 10.6.3 under Windows XP SP3, Windows 7 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. It didn't seem to make much difference whether I had uninstalled the previous version of Flash Player (9.0.45) or not, the problem was still there. DLM would install and after restarting Firefox DLM would just load and sit there doing nothing - blank in the top half and the big yellow "Close DLM" button in the bottom half of the window. All this trouble in Firefox although the active-X control upgraded in IE8 with no problem at all. What a pain!
Once again, problem solved - many thanks.

  • New flash version with chrome

    Hi,
I have Chrome and was playing facebook games perfectly until the other day.  All of a sudden, I would have to click 1/4" lower than the actual buttons I wanted to click in order for it to work.  I tried the same games in IE and they worked fine.  I then thought that the problem was Chrome, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it.  Hey, everything was great, well for a couple days anyway.  This morning, I go to play my games and it says I need a new version of Flash, as it's intergrated with Chrome...I went to about:plugins and enabled the one of the 2 that I was supposed to and then proceeded to my games.  SAME THING AGAIN!! I have to click 1/4" lower.  This is very annoying and I cannot play some of the games because of this..  I now realize that the problem is not with Chrome but it'swith Adobe Flash...how can I fix this?
    Please help,  thank you!

I tried this and it didn't work. I didn't have this issue until I "upgraded" to the latest and greatest version of Firefox. Is there any way I can go back to a prior version without the problem? I really don't want to use IE.

  • Firefox 15.0.1 not recognizing Adobe Flash Plugin 11.4.402.265 - I have unistalled, reinstalled and still "install missing plugin" numerous sites. Help.

Adobe website check page asking for missing plugin after installing into Windows 7. I have used Adobe uninstallers and repeated the whole process several times. Firefox has not accepted/taken the plugin at all. Only help appears for older Adobe Flash.

I've been trying to find a solution to the same problem for several hours now. I restarted my computer this morning, as it was running a bit slugglish. The restart seemed to initiate both a Firefox update and a Flash update to the latest versions. I've uninstalled Flash several times with the Flash uninstaller. I've even down-graded to 10.3. Same result. Firefox simply isn't recognizing the install. Whether it's 10.3 or the latest 11.4, it doesn't exist in the Add-ons manager. I've installed the latest real Player as well, in case it had something to do with the issue. No apparent connection.
    Any ideas?

  • I have Firefox 3.6 on laptop and if I install the latest version of Adobe flash (version 10...) then if I go to a website with any sort of animation, firefox crashes immediately

I am not at my computer right now but I have Firefox version 3.6 (not 4). When I install the latest Adobe flash (version 10.something), my computer crashes whenever I go to any website with any form of information or data that requires the Adobe flash. For the past 2 weeks, I have been sending in the crash reports to Mozilla.

As of Firefox 4.0 and newer the Firefox builds from Mozilla requires both Mac OSX 10.'''5'''+ and a Intel.
Either you can use 3.6.19 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Though for you 3.6.18 will be safe also as 3.6.19 was to workaround a font crashing issue on 10.7 Lion that was not fixed in time on Lion before release. http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.18/mac/ and pick your language and download the Firefox 3.6.18.dmg

  • Newer flash player not opening SWFs

    Hi Everyone
I'm a teacher and am having problem opening student SWF files. I believe many of my students are still in Flash CS6, or perhaps CS5.
I have Flash CC installed. It looks like my Flash Player is 11.7.700.169. But I also have Flash Player 11.4.402.265, which from what I understand is the Flash CS6 player??
When I try to open their SWF to view, it just closes immediately. I can open the .FLA fine., although when this has happened it looks like students have used TLF text, and I get a message from Flash CC saying this is unsupported. But if they have done anything with fonts I don't have, I can't see their work as intended. This is an intro class, so they really haven't learned about embedding yet.
My hunch is that the TLF text won't run in the newer Flash player. But I'm wondering why the SWF doesn't then come up okay with version 11.4xxx.  Any ideas on what I can do ?

when you right click and click on the swf, you're using your stand-alone flash player.  most people don't keep those players updated.
if you wanted to updated your standalone player, you can go here:  http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
and install the projector player for mac.
in any case, you cannot see any student's original design (that contains unembedded fonts) unless you open their fla in flash pro>and confirm there are no missing fonts detected by flash.
if missing fonts are detected open their fla in flash pro>view the list of missing fonts displayed by flash pro>download and install those fonts>restart flash and then open their fla and confirm there are no missing fonts.
you can now open their swf in any flash player you have installed (as long as you see no message about needing an updated flash player).

  • Adobe flash version for os x 10.5.8  which is most stable??

    thanks

Depends entirely on what Mac you have.
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
