New font won't install

I'm trying to install a new font into my MacBook. The font appears in the font folder but when I try to use it in Word the font cannot be found. Any ideas?

Where did you install it? What font is it? There may be a conflict with an existing font, or the font you're trying to use may be corrupt.

New update won't install on my Dell Laptop Windows 7.  Even tried from the iTunes website.  Now all of my access is gone.  What must I do?

    Hello SandyJeanne,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • New version won't install on Windows 7

Been using itunes for several years with few problems, through many upgrades. Today was told to install the latest version to my Windows7 PC.  After it seemed to be finished installing, I get a pop-up saying I may not have privilege for my Apple Mobile Device - choices are to Abort, Retry, Ignore. I connect my iPhone (which used to work and sync with iTunes just fine), and retry - same pop-up. So I Ignore - same error comes up, with a new one: Install error 7 (windows error 126).  If I abort, it removes the install. I've rebooted and taken down all other software, and tried to reinstall, with same error.  If I try to run itunes, I get error that MSVCR80.dll is missing, and am told to reinstall.  After trying that, I get all the same issues.   Have I lost the 1000 or so songs and podcasts? What should I do? Help!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • TS1717 New itunes won't install in win8

Why won't the new 64 bit 11.0.4.4 install as admin? It loads a bar in the middle of the window then disappers.

hmmmm. what version of the Windows Installer do you have on your PC?
the easiest way to check is to head into your Add/Remove (don't uninstall anything) and see if there is a "(KB893803)" next to your entry for Windows Installer.
if there isn't one, try upgrading to Windows Installer version 3.1v2. see:
    Windows Installer 3.1 v2 (3.1.4000.2435) is available

  • New iPod won't install on laptop

I've just got my first iPod classic (120GB 2008 model) and I've got the latest iTunes...but when I plug it in via USB, it won't recognise my iPod.
It doesn't appear in My Computer or on iTunes. I've gone through all the troubleshooting and none of it seems to help. When I go into My Computer > Right click 'Manage' > Device Manager it shows the iPod under other devices, but it has a yellow question mark and exclamation icon next to it.
When I try to install the hardware through Hardware Update Wizard I get this error message: 'The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software. Click back if you have installation media such as a CD-ROM, or if you know the location of the software.'
This has me stumped - help! (Please can you keep explanations simple and explain step by step? I'm not completely untechnical, but I'm not that techy either!)
    Thanks.

Something happened and now the iPod things you are connecting to a different library/computer. See the following for making this "new" computer your syncing computer.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
If all the synced media like apps and music are in the iTunes library it is very easy.

  • New Macbook won't install Lion OS X

I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro from the apple store last month, recently enough to receive the download of Lion free of additional charge. I went to the app store, was able to receive it for free, and clicked download at noon yesterday. By 5 pm, it had downloaded halfway. By 10 pm, it had stopped downloading, but just sat in the dock. I cancelled the download and tried it again today, and it won't even begin to download but it also hasn't given me any errors messages. I tried downloading a different, much simpler app to see if it was a problem with the app or my computer and this app also refuses to download.
Why is my computer having such a hard time with this? It's brand new and hasn't been displaying signs of any other buggy problems. What can I do?

I checked the hard drive utility and there were errors on the hard drive that needed to be fixed. But it wouldn't not let me repair the errors....
Before you reinstall anything, be sure that your hard drive is fine. Boot up to the Install DVD and choose Disc Utility from the top menu ...verify/repair the drive. After you get the green light from Disc Utility, I'd suggest booting to your Install CD once again but this time holding down the 'D' key at start-up ...this will get you into the Apple Hardware Test.
If things are fine here then go ahead with the installs/updates/backups as pedropablo suggests. If things are not fine, you'll need to make a trip to your Apple shop.

  • New apps won't install, just bouce in the dock and time out

Was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I'm in Japan and apple support in English seems to be manned by one guy whose only solution to any problem is to backup everything and reinstall. Getting kind of frustrated.
Lately, I am unable to install new software I download from the web. It downloads the package, loads the disc image and if I click on install.app , the icon bounces in the dock for about minute then times out and I have to force quit it. If I install an app that just requires dragging the app into the app folder, when I try to open it, the same thing happens. I can't pinpoint when this started or what might have caused it but the last app I was able to successfully download and install was a trial version of Bento. I've tried about 10 different apps and its the same problem with each.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Help is very much appreciated!!

    Thanks Daniel!
Onyx worked. Though I'm not sure what part of it worked. I had to try several different cleanings and whatnot. Seems like the problem might have been Desktoptopia. I remember now, when I installed that software, these problems came up. Now, everytime I reboot, I get a "are you sure you want to open this file downloaded from the internet" box for desktoptopia even though I can find no trace of the app on my computer anymore. Very strange.
Anyway, at least apps are installing again. Thanks!

  • New Drive Won't Install OS

This is a long painful saga with a failed PowerMac G5. The original system drive failed a week or so ago and after a valient attempt with DiskWarrior to resurrect the drive, I was forced to format the drive and reinstall the OS. But it would not let me: mid-way through the first Tiger Install disc, I'd get the message "There were errors during the installation" and to try again. Which I did, numerous times.
So I acquired another drive, reformatted it and set it up for Tiger install. Same problem. I did have the foresight to jot down some of the error messages in the Installer Log. With the original failed drive, I had gotten the error message: Error Detected. Then "NSGenericException". And then the explanation: "Some files for AsianLanguageSupport may have not been written correctly (code 1)"
Today, on the newly installed drive, I got the Error Detected and "NSGenericException" with the explanation "Some files for Media Files may have not been written correctly (code 1)"
Also, I have formatted with HFS+
Any clues? Is it the G5 itself? Did I just spend close to $600 bucks on 4 extra gigs of RAM and a hard drive and its the G5?!

I can't be certain, but it sounds to me like you have a dirty/damaged Mac OS X installation disk or a flakey SuperDrive. It's also possible that your new RAM is causing a problem, so if the install disk looks good (I'm presuming you're using the system disk that shipped with the G5 or a retail copy of Mac OS X 10.4, not the system disk from a different model of Mac) and the SuperDrive seems to work OK with other boot disks (DiskWarrior, for instance), then you might try removing the new RAM and see if that makes any difference.
    Hope this helps.

  • New ITUNES won't install

i recently tried to upgrade my itunes to the latest one. everytime i tried to install it there would be a message saying that it is from an unknown publisher and then another one would come up saying not a valid win32 application. any answers?

I think i've fixed all my problems.
Here's what i did. After a many hours (thanks Apple!) of reinstalling and system restores I finally gave up. 1 day later Windows releases a huge windows update with like 4 patches. I ran and installed that update. I tried to listen to a Quicktime audio stream but like I mentioned before, it wouldn't work unless I installed the lastest Quicktime. So I was directed to the Apple site to download quicktime (again...) I chose to download it without iTunes. It worked! I started to think...well if it worked, maybe upgrading to itunes 7 will work now. So I took the chance to download the new itunes 7 upgrade after painfully getting itunes6 up again (which didn't end up working...no sound would play) and VOILA! iTunes 7 worked because it recognized that my QUicktime was uptodate this time. I think it had something to do with the windows update that wasn't available the day all this mess happened! ANyways, only experiencing the odd song that will sound static and distorted on the new iTUnes7, but if I stop the file from playing and restart it, sounds fine. I really like the free Album Art.

  • My fonts won't install

I downloaded a couple of fonts, and initially I just copy and pasted them into the Fonts folder in Indesign's folder group. That didn't work, although I think that's exactly what I did when I downloaded a font for PS a few weeks ago. So then I tried extracting the files, right click and install on the computer, but when I right click, there is no option to install.

Are you sure they're font files? What's the extension.

  • New itunes won't install and I can't install older versions

    Hi all,
I just downloaded the newest version of itunes this morning (I guess it's a newer itunes 11). The installation would not work, and I cannot seem to try it again. I've tried downloading the files from itunes, but it won't download. I've also tried going back to itunes 10, but I get the error: The file "itunes library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by newer version of itunes"
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    i'm using a Mac OS X version 10.5.7
Then update to 10.5.8 and download Safari 4.0.4.

  • My fonts won't install on OSX 10.9.4!!!

My macbook pro running OSX 10.9.4 has just been updated with higher ram and hard drive. I am trying to reinstall my fonts and they will not install despite seeming like they have. I click on the install font button and it clicks through and validates but when I check the font book they are not there. How can I fix this as right now I have no fonts for any of my projects that I need.

I'm having the exact same issue on both of my machines.  No font will install - keep getting Font Validation error.
