New fonts for Pages - how to install?

Just bought a Mac Book Pro and want to use Conduit ITC font (which is not installed). Does anyone know a safe web site to get such font?

  • How to get new fonts for pages

I am looking to add Eurostile to my Pages fonts list. Does apple have a trusted site to download these?

Eurostile is a commercial family of fonts.
Apple didn't boght a license for it so they don't deliver it.
Do you know that Google is a powerful tool ?
    Search with the simple request:
    eurostile AND font
and you will get several sources for official eurostile fonts and for free copies .
Of course, I will not guarantee that the copies have the quality of the original or that they are legal ones.

  • New demos for Forms9i, how to install them ?

How do i have to install the demos which comes with demos9_0_0_0_8.zip file ?
    Thanks
    Hans

Hans - I have added the README file to the Forms demo page - this should be "live" within the next 24 hours.
    Incase you need them now:
    1) Download Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 from OTN of you don't have it installed
    2) Unzip the file into a suitable temporary folder e.g. c:\temp\9idemos
    3) Start OC4J befor installing
    4) Start the Universal installer from the Oracle Installation Products start
    menu option
    5) Point the installer at the (c:\temp\9idemos\)products.jar file and select
your iDS Oracle Home as the home to install into
    6) Follow the installer instructions
    7) Read the readme file launched by the install
    8) Click on the Desktop icon or Start menu option to launch the demos.
    Restrictions
This set of demos is only intended for installation into an Oracle9iDS
Oracle Home on Windows NT or 2000
    HOpe this helps.

  • How can I add a new font to pages?

I want to add a new font to page.  How do I do that?

Download new fonts from the Internet (e.g. 1001fonts.com), and then open the file once downloaded. This will launch the application FontBook. It will ask "Install the font?" Click "OK", and you will be able to use the new font in Pages, TextEdit or other word processors. (You may have to re-start the application for it to recognize it.)
Bonus info: pressing command–t in many applications opens you computer's font control panel.

These are user to user help forums.  To tell Apple you want more fonts for Thai, go here:

But I suspect this is likely one of those things for which you will always have to use a full computer rather than a iPad.

  • How to create a new template for pages in iPad?

How to create a new template for pages in iPad?

In spite of the latest updates Pages for iPad does not support:
    1) User templates
    2) Headers
    3) Footers
    4) Page numbers
and it is not compatible with Pages for OSX, a document cannot be edited alternatively on Mac and iPad without destroying headers and footers.
    - The Word export is far from perfect
    - Does not really support Page Layout mode (you cannot duplicate a page at least)
    - Does not have a multi-page overview
    - The spelling support of iOS and OSX is at the level of Apple Maps except 4-5 languages.
    - It takes a long time until it starts
INSTEAD, according to the latest updates:
    - It can do change tracking
    - Lock and unlock objects
    - Add reflections to shapes
    Dear Apple, please understand:
    - We like iPad and we wish to use it for real work.
    - We wish to have user templates, headers, footers and page numbers.
    - We do not expect all the features of Pages for OSX, but we do expect real compatibility.
    - We do not wish to switch back to Word for Windows unless you force us.
Please try to concentrate on real development not on unimportant changes like in the latest dissapointing update.

  • Installing OS on a new HDD for imac with no installed HDD

    Hi all
I am looking to buy an iMac 27", but it doesnt come with a HDD
So I wanted to know if I buy a new HDD for it, can I install Mavericks onto it and fit it to the iMac? How would I go about doing this?
I dont have access to another mac but I do have access to a windows machine. Can I do it from there?
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

Where are you buying an iMac 27-inch, Late 2009 model that has no internal hard disk drive?
Having to assume it was removed by an original owner, does the computer work? Was it tested by use of an externally enclosed HDD with a correct bootable system installed?
There are various repair and upgrade guides online, several topics among them and several are free to view or use. There likely is an iFixit guide that may cover that vintage of iMac 27-inch build year model.
Not sure which iMac 27-inch model guide applies to your computer,
    some appear here http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iMac_Intel
While considering the hard disk drive, be sure that if there are any sensors or special cables required to be in place and attached to a new replacement, they are in place and working; some users of later models found when a hard disk drive was replaced, their fans ran at high and uncontrolled speeds due to lack of sensor input. The default situation was for the computer act as though the unit was overheated. And third party fan control software to set a fan at low slower speeds does not take into account faster speeds are needed to cool iMacs. Yours may not exhibit this issue, but I am not certain either way.
When you get it set up, with HDD and original Snow Leopard installed & updated to 10.6.8, be sure to check to see if there are any hardware or firmware updates. I see there was one listed for your model and it may already be installed...

  • Fonts for Pages - Cyrillic

Hello, were I can get the different Cyrillic Fonts for Pages?

    Razamanaz
You don't need any specific Cyrillic fonts for Pages, virtually all OSX fonts have Cyrillic.
Just set your keyboard to whatever Cyrillic language you are using:
+System Preferences > Personal > International > Russian should already be in the list > Move it to the top of the list+
If you need any other keyboards:
    +International > Languages > Edit List… > check the languages you want+
For more quality Cyrillic fonts, any of the major font publishers' Open Type (otf) collections will do, with Parachute Fonts particularly specialising in Cyrillic with suberb designs.

  • Can I add new fonts to pages 5.1?

I can't seem to add any new fonts to Pages 5.1.  Is it possible?

It isn't Pages that opens files it is OSX.
In Finder double click any fonts you want and they are added to your OSX Font Library, then they are available in Pages.

  • New user for pages (I have v. 5.2 on mac mini OS X Maverick).

I'm a new user for pages (I have v. 5.2 on mac mini OS X Maverick) and hoping there may be some appropriate free online tutorials available to help getting started.  Suggestions?

ScreenCastsOnline had some introductory episodes on early versions of Pages, it is a moving feast.
    Also try Lynda.com.

Be aware that the current versions of all the free iWork apps are very much cut down versions of the iWork '09 Apps that Apple previously sold.

  • PSE 6 for Mac, how to install the new layer mask tool

I just bought the new PSE 6 for Mac, whew what a change in the color of workspace.
My classmates and I are wondering how to install the free layer mask tool that Sue Chastain has on her About site.
Or perhaps first, has anyone used it and do you like it?
    Do you put it here?
    http://www.jcarter.net/mac-stuff/layermaskthing.jpg
Havent been to this great forum for a while, been busy, I miss you all, and shall try to visit more often.
I remember when I was a beginner at this, I learned so much here and you all were amazing help!
    Thanks,
    Jane

    Hi Barbara,
    Its this one,
    http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/p/layermasks.htm
So I assumed afterwards that it wasn't for Mac. So I went ahead and installed the older action for my PSE 4.
I was hoping it was platform agnostic, but when I looked at this, the difference between the 2 versions,
    http://www.jcarter.net/mac-stuff/previewfolder-missing.jpg
Not knowing where the Previews folder was, threw me overboard.
And I didn't read all the way down Sue's page, as my old brain got ahead of my eyes.
So I really dont know what to do next with this, some of my classmates are wondering the same thing.
    Thank you,
    Jane

  • Install a new font for use in reports

    Hi everybody,
i need to install a new font in order
to use it from oracle reports.
(The product is installed on Sun Solaris).
How cai I install a font? And use it in oracle
    reports??
    Thanks a lot.
    Ugo Mascetti

Thank you! It worked when I added it to FontBook on my Mac. I checked to ensure it was installed in the Fonts directory on my PC, and it was. So I closed out of Illustrator CC then relaunched it, and voila! There it was. Thank you for your support!

  • I just installed FontPack Pro.  I am not able to access the new fonts from Pages.  What am I doing wrong?

I installed FontPack Pro.  I was successful in loading them into the font book.  However, when I open pages and attempt to select a font, quite a number of them have an "A" with a box around the A.  In the document it comes up as a box with a graphic inside.  What's wrong, and how do I fix it?

They are from memory just a bucket full of cheap fonts (despite the "Pro" moniker). The lot I saw were not even OpenType and there were problems with older fonts in late versions of Snow Leopard so the problems could be anywhere from cheap and nasty fonts, to older format, to installed in the wrong location, to problems with the font cache as mentioned.

  • How to apply a new font for missing glyphs in another font?

    The situation:
For an article, I want to use Font1, but some of the glyphs are missing in it, and are highlighted with pink boxes. Font2 have much more glyphs than Font1. I can apply Font2 manually for each of the missing glyphs, but it is tedious.
    Question:
Is there a way for InDesign to do such substitution automatically? I.e., apply a default font, which can be specified by user, for all the missing glyphs.
If not, how to search/find those missing glyphs with GREP or script? Since InDesign can identify the missing glyphs and marked them with pink boxes, it seems easily (not to identify the unicode ranges which seems not very easy) to find them using GREP, but I failed to find it.
Any one know how to do this? Thanks.

No. Alas, I might add. There is some sort of auto-catch, specific for Symbol symbols, but no-one knows how it works and you cannot manipulate it yourself.
If not, how to search/find those missing glyphs with GREP or script?
Not specifically, i.e., you cannot search for "any missing glyph". Add a GREP style which changes just the font (make sure it doesn't set the font style as well, or else your Bolds or Italics might disappear). Create a new Preflight profile that checks just for missing glyphs, so you won't miss any.
None of this can be automated though.

InDesign's GREP flavor doesn't allow named Unicode blocks (http://www.regular-expressions.info/unicode.html), but I have successfully used character ranges to automatically set the font for Chinese, for example.
