New Forum for Mobile Sales

Hi There,
I have just been involved in a European implementation of SAP CRM 4.0 with a rollout of the Mobile Sales Application to 250 laptops.
As this falls outside 'NetWeaver' at the moment I found that we were breaking new ground in terms of some of the problems we faced. It would have been very useful to have a forum to share the mobile sales experience and to see if other customers were facing the same difficluties.
Is it possible to set up a new forum to deal with this? I have a lot of experience that can be shared especially related to the data rollout within a short space of time using the Rollout Manager.

Req: Being able to use variant configuration in an offline mobile sales scenario involving graphics (i.e. selection of characteristic: color should be reflected in the image of the product being configured.)
currently we using ECC 5.0.
the possible option at hand is to use CRM MSA but we still need UI which can handle the interactive graphics.
What other options do we have ?

You're correct - MSA is an offline application, with ocassional synchronization to CRM server.
What we've developed - was on the front end ( UI ) in the Mobile Sales application.
I'm not sure if this can be done in CRM UI ( with ABAP coding ).
I understand your requirement, and to me it sounds similar to what we have done.
You would need someone who know's Visual Basic or .NET really well, to develop an OCX control. Then, you have to incorporate this custom control into MSA.
After that, according to your requirement, you need to build a custom code to change UI based on the user actions.
So, to your point, whenever user changes the values of particular fields ( product type, quantity, status or category ) - the color will change.
I'm not sure what type of functionality you are looking to customize in MSA, but it definitely achievable.

Suggest creat a new forum for Customer Service

The below is my shopping experience in Apple Online shop:
I order a new ipad to my freind as a gift on 11Aug2010. I just wanted to clarify the derivery date as my friend would leave HongKon from 24Aug.
Therefore,I have tried to contact HK Apple hotline and Courier(TNT), I kept calling them during 2.5 hours but no one pickup the phone or their lines were always busy. They just gave me some music and asked to wait unit it hang up. I visited their website, ask me to contact them via their ??HOTLINE?? I wasted my time and money(long distance calls).
I cant find any enquiry e-mail in your website and forum. Therefore I suggest to add a forum regarding Customer Service, as a pathform of us to discuss about your customer service.
finally, I am very disappointed about the service of HK Apple Shop, I will not order any products from your online shop if i need to wait for your delivery.
I would be gratful if you consider my suggestion.

How about some New Forums for JSC?

I read somewhere that the JSC forum is Sun's highest activity forum. The trouble is, there's a lot of information mixed together.
Would it be possible to create several forums (or subforums) for JSC? Here's some I'd suggest:
Help: newbie requests for JSC help (like how do I create a datatable)
Problems: place to ask for help with technical problems, like DB connectivity, use with a given server, installation problems, etc.
Bugs: Bugs, deficiencies and workarounds
Examples/Solutions: place to show nifty tricks that have been found, or how to do something complicated.
Suggestions: Suggestions for the JSC team
General: Other stuff not covered above.
IMHO, breaking the forum into these logical groups would make the forum much more useful. Perhaps the categories above aren't perfect or complete. However, something in this direction would be good.

In a perfect world, the topics would be sorted into forums. However, these could be left in general, and start with the new categories empty. At least new discussion would be more organized.
It would also be extremely helpful to move old, obsolete topics to somewhere else, or delete them. I don't now how many times I've begun reading a post only to find it applies to an earlier version of creator, and since then the bug, problem or whatever has been fixed anyway.

Error while accessing application of Mobile Sales for Handhelds

 I am working with Mobile Sales for Handhelds. I downloaded a source code for "Mobile Sales & Service for HH using CRM 4.0 SP08" from SAP note 824427. After creating a WAR file out of this code and assigning it to the user through web console successfully, I synchronized. But when I tried to access the application by the link, I get a Included servlet error. The stack trace is as follows :

these classes in your JSP file during modification ..
i think u have used these all external classes in your JSP files without importing these classes...
If u have imported these class files , then check , u have properly set path for these library (jar files) in the MI client itself.
If ur MI applications are using some extra jar files , then in the client device , that jar files must present in the lib directory of MI installation.
 These jar files must be set in the classpath while starting the MI client...
just refer this forum for setting classpaths in the client device for additional jar files ...

What Mobile Sales solution for ERP 6.0 ?

Hi colleagues,
I have serious difficulty to understand what is the SAP offering for Mobile Sales solutions for SPA ERP 6.0. SAP is vague and just say there IS solution for R/3 (?).
My questions are in two directions:
1. About the "preconfigured" Mobile Sales offerings or xApps or whatever it is:
    - can we use SAP MSR 2.0 with ERP 6? If yes- are still the limitations described in Note OSS 735727 valid (use only with Microsoft PocketPC2003, PocketPC2003 SE and Win32 )

2. About the "Online" solutions
   - Could the ERP Internet Sales be used with Handheld?

If I am not wrong you are talking about internet sales for R/3 when you say ERP internet sales, which is probably outdated by now. Nowadays SAP distributes something called as mySAP Business Suite which in brief is as follows:

SCM - Supply Chain Management
SRM - Supplier Relationship Management
PLM - Product Lifecycle Management
SAP Netweaver
Solution Manager

About MSA HH 5.0 Device requirement- Yes you need to use Windows Mobile PDAs with Pocket PC 2003/ Windows Mobile5.0, Windows Mobile 6.0 OS.
There is another application, Mobile Sales Online, which can work with Blackberry Devices, technical information regarding which can be got from SMP here:

If you have access to the Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com), select "Release & Upgrade Info" tab, click "Installation & Upgrades Guides" and then open "mySAP Business Suite Applications -> mySAP CRM -> SAP CRM 4.0 -> Mobile Client Installation Guides" section on the left navigator bar.

Is there any BAPI available for the same ? (Version 4.7) - I know its available for new create and change
but couldn't find for create with reference to Order ...

Hi,
You can use this FM "/SAPNEA/SMAPI_ORDER_CREATE". I haven;t tried this but you can still give it a try. Mention the Reference Order Type and other data in the header work area and pass it to the FM.

Required item no: to populate custom field while creating item for a Sales order

Hello Experts,
I have created a custom field for item data of sales order using AET .
I want to populate this field automatically when ever we create a new item for a sales order using UI or CRMD_ORDER or WCEM by concatenation Sales order number and item number.
We are getting Item GUID but not getting the item number(need item number before getting saved is their any chance to get item number from item GUID ) to populate the field and save it.
For this we tried using BADI's
CRM_BTX_EXTENSIONS
CRM_ORDERADM_I_BADI

How do we request a new forum?

I'd like to request a new forum for discussing programming on the iPhone. Now that the SDK came out, I'm sure that there's going to be a LOT of traffic on that. It would be nice to keep it all in one place.
