New GENIL Search Object

Hello,
Is it possible to create my own copy of BuilHeaderSearch and have cl_crm_generic_il_new-get_query_results us it to search for partners? I know you can browse the objects in GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER, but I can't figure out how to create a new one.

Create new search object for simple/embedded search

Hi,
SAP CRM contains indexing and search functionalities based on SAP Netweaver Enterprise Search. SAP delivers search models, connectors and search abilities for a lot of CRM objects, like Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, ...
However, some objects like "Service Requests" (BUS2000223) and "Tasks" (BUS2000125) are missing.
Has anyone tried to perform a complete extension of the whole process including template modeling, change pointers (for delta indexing), enhancing UI to provide search abilities for these objects, and so on?
I found different kind of information on how to create a new search object template, however, no further details about what comes after, e.g. how to index, how to handle change pointers for delta, what to do in the CRM web UI to provide search ability and result lists...

Hi Ralf,
there is a new Book avaliable "mySAP CRM Interaction Center" from Thorsten Wewers and Tim Bolte. Currently it is only avaliable in german. But as I've seen from your Business Card that should be OK. There is also a Chapter about extendig the Search in IC WinClient.

Extending the Search Object of a BOL Entity with custom fields

Hi All,
I have to enhance the structure of the BOL search object 'BuilHeaderSearch' with custom fields!.
i went to the transaction genil_bol_browser and find out the structure of the object as, 'CRMST_HEADER_SEARCH_BUIL'
how can i insert custom fields into this structure, so that i can display these custom fields at the Front end ( Web IC ).

Hi Sudeep!
First of all it should be mentioned that: it is NOT possible to change list of SEARCH criteria in IC!
So, in other words, you can search BP ONLY by params listed in native structure 'CRMST_HEADER_SEARCH_BUIL'.
BUT: You can FILTER search results!
For example: you get the list of BP with MC_NAME1 (lastname) search criteria (only by SAP class!)and THEN you can filter (delete from list) by YOUR criteria (in your class!).
Is it clear?
So how to add your own criteria?
1. Transaction GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER - Model Browser forGen.IL Applications
2. Component Set - ALL
3. Search Objects -> BuilHeaderSearch -> Attribute Structure ->CRMST_HEADER_SEARCH_BUIL (Dbl Click)
4. Append Structure (or F5)
5. Name the new sub-structure and provide all new fields
So now you can use this new fields in IC Z-classes.
I had the same task and nobody in SDN could help - so I had bought new SAP_book: <a href="http://www.sappress.com/product.cfm?account=&product=H1909">mySAP CRM Interaction Center</a> because in Contents there were:
"Extending the Business Partner Search in IC WebClient by New Search Fields".
So in fact it is not truth: it is not possible to extend search. You can only filter results!
BUT!
It is not the end of my post! I hope that SAP people will see this post. I found a BUG in SAP classes and methods: it is not possible to navigate to first position in collection wraper!
exactly:
lr_current ?= entity_col->if_bol_bo_col~get_first( ).
doesn't work.
So position of cursor puts on second record in structure!
In other words it is not possible to filter the first record in search result! And so new search is not efficient
I think that is is bug and wait for comments of SAP.

How to add a custom field to a Search object

There is a requirement to add a 'Z' field to both the search and result object of Opportunity in CRM 2007 .Can anyone please let me know how to implement this?
Can this be achieved through EEWB or can be done manually by adding to the corresponding structure?
Whether any BADI has to be implemented?

Problem deleting search object connector template in template modeler

Hi Experts
By mistake I have created same search object connector in two different software components. Now in adminstration cockpit, template modeler when I try to create a connector, error message is displayed about the conflict in of same object names. Now I want to delete the business template under ESH_COMMON_OBJECTS, which I am not able to do. Please help me out

I resolved it. if delete is disabled,we can delete or rename the template after selecting the option 'resolve conflicts' in 'actions' dropdown. But even this didn't work with ESH_COMMON_OBJECTS templates, so I have created new template with different name.

Search object

We have a requirement to select data from different CRM tables based on select options. I added the fields for selection to the structure of search object BTQuery1o and also copied class CL_CRM_QUERY1O_RUN_BTIL to a z class. I redefined the methods and added code to retrieve the new fields. I tested the search object in the model browser and it retrieves the correct data. When adding the query to my program it does not retrieve data based on the range entered and passed to the selection parameters. The search object only retrieves data for a single value. Can anyone help me with selecting data based on a range of values?

How to search object by Oracle developer,

Hi Friends,
As I know that TOAD has a function to search objects in database.
when user enter a table name or string
system will display all list of objects that used search table or string in objects.
Does Oracle Developer has this function?
This function is good for debug person for new application.

Creation of New Custom Development Object in Solar02

Hi,
We are trying to create an object type of Form for a new custom development object in solar02 under tab Development,and for this I get an error that the object doesn’t exist in development environment.
Based on my analysis, it looks like Solution Manager only allows to link pre-existing development objects but not creating new objects. Is that right? If not please advice how can we add new custom objects through solution manager.

hi,
solar01/02 is the tools for documenation, it is not for creating objects.
basically it should allow you to enter any developement objects names, irerespective of whether they are created in the back end system or not.
please provide the screenshots.

Handling and creation of search objects?

Hi,
I added five custom fields with the Application Enhancement Tool of SAP CRM ABAP 7.0:
- distributor1
- distributor2
- distributor3
- distributor4
- distributor5
Now I want the search to search in all of these five fields. The problem is, that only one Distributor search criteria field should appear in the search view.
The Application Enhancement Tool added the five fields automatically as attributes to a dynamic search object.
To solve this problem I would like to modify the search objects BADI? Any suggestions?

because the five custom fields should be displayed in an assignment set and the user should be able to fill all of them. So there have to be five fields.

The search help for the payment terms is not coming from the DDIC search help..
It is coded in the process on value-request event...
The function module FI_F4_ZTERM is called for this..you have to change this function module in case if you want the values from a different table..
OR do implicit enhancement in the subroutine FORM HELP_ZTERM in the include MF02DFH0 to call your search help instead of the function module FI_F4_ZTERM ..And do the same for the sales order also..

Any related object on the detail page should have an "Add" or "New" or both buttons by default - This is vanilla functionality and will do the required action.
If you want to modify this behaviour and do something tricky you will potentially have to go for javascript. You should add the javascript on a custom web tab on that Object.
Admin --> Application Customization --> Contact -->Contact Web Applet
Now, add your javascript in the code area, after you select the type = HTML for this web applet, expose this web applet on the Contact detail layout and your javascript will be invoked whenever this page is loaded.

That's why I started this discussion to find out why this app didn't reach the appstore yet. I know it does a lot of waht Siri does but it's not fully integrated to iOS/hardware like Siri so, that's why I don't understand why Apple is taking so long to approve it nor to disclose why they are not approving.
I didn't find any info about google app not being within the guidelines of Apples terms and conditions too...
and in regards to the maps, that's a good point but it could use maps.google.com like it currently does so I don't think it should be a big deal right?

have a look how dynamic tables are created (using af:forEach to iterate the attribute Defs for generating columns). Your approach is similar except that you not only need to know about attributes but also the rows to fecth
1. create a tree binding for the view object
2. create the binding with one hierarchy
3. ensure all attributes are deleted for the tree binding (you do this manually in the PageDef)
4. when executing the query for a new SQL, call clearForRecreate() on the DCIteratorBinding instance
5. On the page, use af:forEach to create the form fields and labels for each row. Like for dynamic tables, you first need to determine the attributes to render (its a nested loop you are going for
6. Updates of the form fields must be through a managed bean
