New GL Datasources

Guys,
What are the needed datasources for the New GL in fresh BW implementation? I am used to the Old GL (0FI-GL_4 and 0FI_GL_6) and have never worked on the new GL. Any help would be appreciated.

Cannot see new Z datasource

Hi
I have created a new Z datasource in R/3, but am unable to see it in BW..
Here's what I've done:
R/3:
1. RSO2
2. Created Text datasource, based on Table
3. I can see it in RSA6. Also went to ROOSOURCE table and it is in A version
4. Ran Extractor checker (rsa3) and got the required data
BW:
1. I click on Source systems
2. Searched for the Z datasource to replicate, but couldn't find it.
3. Checked Source system connection and it is ok.
Is there anything else I need to do?

Hi, select the source system where you created the data source, and select the application component and replicate data source. if you dont find it just refresh the subtree. you need to activate the data source in BW Again.

Difference when using old and new PCA datasources

Hello experts,
We have implemented the new PCA datasources provided by business content version 3.3. We have built a new infocube (ZPCA_C01) as we were not concerned about the appropriate performance of these new datasources 0EC_PCA_3 and 0EC_PCA_4.
After loading the new cube (ZPCA_C01) with the new datasources 0EC_PCA_3 and 4, we made a comparison to the content of the old cube 0PCA_C01, that was loaded with 0EC_PCA_1.
For thesame period (2005.001-002) there is a difference between the contents of the cubes. When checking the results I found that this may be caused by the fact, that 0EC_PCA_4 does not populate "Total credit postings" and "Total debit postings" fields in the new cube, however, we have a couple of records in table GLPCA, where ACTIV = 'PRC4', and that have a corresponding record in GLPCT, where there is a figure in
TSL02 field. It results in the fact that>
- 0EC_PCA_1 extracts the figure from GLPCT for Posting Period 2,
- 0EC_PCA_4 does not extract the same figure from GLPCA.
Can you please help me with the above problem? Do you know how Credit and Debit figures get to BW from GLPCA, where ACTIV='PRC4'?

If it's a DATE datatype then it will have both date and time components. If you take that and store it in a DATE datatype column then that too will store the date and time components. If you then go and view that data, it will have both date and time components unless you have your local settings (NLS settings etc) set so that dates are displayed without the time portion. That doesn't mean the data is not there, but that you are not displaying it when you query it.

New Webservice Datasource:Not Overwriting with old one in Production

I have a Webservice Data Source which is loading XML based Data to DSO & Then to Infocube.
In development I it is working fine even Loading Delta perfectly. Then moved it production.
Again due to some client request I have made changes in Web Service Data Source & DSO & Infocube.It is also worked fine in Development. Again moved to production.
But after moving to production all objercts of DSO/Infocube changes are fine. Even Transformation/DTP is as it is with Development for upload from DSO To Infocube.
Issue : The New Webservice datasource is not overwriting Old one in Production even I capture in Transport request all changes correctly, same also applies Transforamtion/DTP too from Webservice Datasource to DSO..
I need How to Overwrite Datasource/Transforamation/DTP in Production with new objects of same in Development.
Please suggest.Need the steps in detail. It could be bug or some other issue which need to look into.

That is exactly correct: Time Machine backs-up entire systems, not just data. That's how many folks back-up two (or more) Macs to the same TM drive without conflicts.
You cannot combine them.
From one Mac, you see only it's backups when you +Enter Time Machine.+
But you can see those from another Mac by holding down the Option key as you select the TM icon in the menubar, changing +Enter Time Machine+ to +Browse Other Time Machine Disks.+ Then you can browse, restore, or delete those backups normally.
You also need to know that TM backup processes on the new Mac will not delete the backups from the old Mac in the usual fashion. You'll have to do that manually (via TM, not the Finder), or bite that bullet and erase the drive.
To delete backups from the old Mac, +Browse Other Time Machine Disks,+ select the backup you want to delete from the "cascade" of Finder windows and click the "gear" icon in the Finder window's toolbar, then select +Delete Backup.+ You'll get a confirmation prompt, then one for your Administrator's password, then TM will delete it.
Usually the deletion will be very quick; but some backups will take a very long time to delete (if you exit TM, you may see a progress bar). Unfortunately, there's no way to tell which will be quick and which won't.

Creating a new Driver/DataSource in Visual Administrator

I have been struggling to create a Data Source for a SQL Server DB in Visual Admin. I did the following.
1) Created a new Driver MSSQL, added to it msutil.jar, mssqlserver.jar and msbase.jar.
2) Created a new data source gave it a name, description
- Selected the MSSQL driver which I just created
- JDBC Version 1.x
- Driver class:
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.class
- Database URL:
jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:1433;databaseName=TestDB
3)Tried both Open SQL and Vendor SQL as database engines.
4) Gave the appropriate user id and password
With the above configuration when I entered a SQL Statement in the 'DB Initialization' tab and executed it, I got a SQL Server Driver Class not found exception.
My second configuration was to use the JDBC Version 2.0
with the following settings:
1) Use the same MSSQL driver which I created
2) JDBC Version 2.0
3) Object Factory: com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlServer.SQLServerDataSourceFactory
4) DataSource Type: ConnectionPoolDataSource
5) CPDS classname: com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlServer.SQLServerDataSource
6) Gave the required key, values in the 'Additional' Tab
7) Chose Vendor SQL as the SQL Engine.
With the second configuration I can connect and talk to the database.
Why would I not be able to connect to the DB in my first configuration? Are there any other configuration steps I am missing for using the JDBC 1.0?

If you are trying to create a new DBPool then you can use the OSS note 706216. This describes the method of adding the connection pools using the commands in the telnet console

New ledger datasource

Hi experts,
I ve created a Datasource (3FI_GL_xx_TT ) for the new ledger at transaction FAGLBW03.
But when I go to RSA3 only the customer include field (ci_cobl) dont have any data.
Do I have to generate extraction structure at FAGLBW01 first?

If you are able to run RSA3 for the data source, it means that it is already active so no need to generate. How is the ci field getting data ? Normally when we extend a standard data source, we also write abap code in the exit RSAP0001 to provide the logic for populating the customer enhanced fields .

I have reviewed a lot of the online documentation on Service Marketplace and SDN, but still have the following open question:
Is there a comprehensive list of all new SAP ERP datasources, or enhancements to existing datasources, that are available in ERP 60 enhancement packs 1, 2, 3 and 4?
Where can I find this list?
Again, I'm aware of the wealth of documentation on EHPs, but I can't seem to find a quick list of the BI datasource changes for EHPs.

CRM Extended BP using EEW doesn't create new BW datasources

Hi,
I am working on the BW reporting for a new CRM 5.0 project. Our CRM consultant has extended the Business Partner with additional tables using the Easy Enhancement Workbench (EEW). The CRM help text suggests that the EEW will create a datasource per table, but it hasn't happened. The enhance was marked BW relevant. Help text link is below -

Hi Rosa,
We raised a ticket with SAP and went through a number of attempts. Found that the problem was because we hadn't defined the BW source system in the CRM client (using transaction EEWC) BEFORE the enhancement was created. Regenerating isn't enough, so for the valid datasource a recreation was necessary.
Sorry for not adding the answer sooner, the problem dragged on for months.

Configuring New Cloudscape DataSource

I am using WL 8.1 and need to configure a new datasource that attaches to a Cloudscape
5.1 database. In my CLASSPATH variable I include the driver jar and license jar
files. When I attempt to create the DataSource I routinely get the following
errror.:
Distributed Management [1 exceptions]
Error creating connection pool newpool: No registered driver
accepts URL:jdbc:db2j:net//localhost:1527/"toursDB".
I can create a database connection in Oracle JDeveloper using the same driver
and URL. Why can't I do this in WebLogic?

On the console when you create a new connection pool you will be given an
option to test before you create the pool. Can you try this and let me know
if the test succeedes. Also are you able to create a connection using the
same driver from a stand alone java client ?

New COPA datasource with old append extractstructure

Hi Experts,
my problem is to add a new field to a COPA data source with KEB0.
I know that I have to delete the data source and install a new one, but I cannot as-sign it to the old extract structure. And if it is not possible, I need to define new DTP and Transformations in my BI system, because of new replicate (PSA).
I hope someone has an idea.

if u have a new field for u r excisting datsource ....right
it is not a issue to delete the datasource simply activate the datasource and replicate in BI/BW and change the transformation and simply activate the DTP and schedule DTP

I have used SharePoint Designer 2013 to open a SharePoint Online site and there are no issues.
I’d like to clarify whether you encounter any issues when accessing SharePoint Online sites. If there are no issues during the accessing procedure, SharePoint Online service should be working fine at your side. The issue may be caused by specific SharePoint
Designer client or network. I suggest you refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Use SharePoint Designer to open another site and check whether it is successful.
2. When you are prompted to enter Office 365 account and password, try other users’ accounts and select the remembering the credential.
3. Perform the connection procedure under another environment and verify whether the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, can you provide related screenshots for further troubleshooting?

Setting a new UME datasource during system copy

Hi experts,
As a part of an sap solution we are currently working onu2026.the following two systems have been installed: SAP NTW AS ABAP 7.01 and SAP NTW AS JAVA 7.01
In a first moment the ABAP DB was set as the UME data sourceu2026.however according to new requirements, LDAP should be set as data source. Iu2019m aware this is not possible. Apparently the only way to accomplish this is a complete reinstallation.
My question isu2026..Itu2019s possible to perform a system copy instead of re install the system? Does sapinst provide the chance to define a new UME data source during the system copy?

Data not loading for new Fields InfoObjects from DSO to InfoCube

Hi Gurus -
               I have a DataSource that is providing data to existing DSO then to Infocube. My client asked me to added couple fields to DataSource and get the data to DSO and then DSO to InfoCube.
Here is the Old scenarion:   DataSource -> DSO -> InfoCube.
Here is the New Scenation:
     DataSource ( Added new fields) -> DSO (added new InfoObjects for Corresponding DataSource FIelds) -> InfoCube( Added new InfoObjects to mapped from DSO)
I added the new fields to DataSource, added the corresponding InfoObjects to DSO and InfoCube.
I successfully loaded data from DataSource to DSO. Data is populating for the new Fields/InfoObjects in DSO.
But when I load data from DSO to InfoCube, I don't see any data for New Fields InfoObjects in the InfoCube.
Data from DSO to InfoCube is loading fine for the Old InfoObjects Fields but not for the New InfoObjects I added in InfoCube.

Why dont u debug the load through DTP debugging and check what happens to the source field and target field once it passes through the transformation. You can easily trace back where the fields are becoming blank.
The loads which you have mentioned earlier did it have values in Added Records/Transferred Records column for the cube.

One solution would be to generate the report via an servlet which you then call with an af:golink with an target frame set to blank.

Problem in using new InitialContext when running client application

We are having a web application which runs on weblogic server 6.1.
We are loading a servelet at startup which will load the application specific
properties file and bind it with the context.
In one of the classes in the .ear file we are looking up the data source like
this
InitialContext _initialContext = new InitialContext();
dataSource = (DataSource)
initialContext.lookup(ClaimsConstants.CLAIMSRDBMS);
con = dataSource.getConnection();
This works fine through the jsp.
But when I run a separate client program this lookup is failing.
I tried another way of looking up like this
     Properties h = new Properties();
     h.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
          "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
     h.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, url);
     Context _initialContext = new InitialContext(h);
dataSource = (DataSource)
initialContext.lookup(ClaimsConstants.CLAIMSRDBMS);
But the weblogic server got hanged for some time after it gave no messages coming
idle exception.
If any body knows the solution for this please reply. I am trying to develop an
application client but I don't know hoe to proceed. Any examples I can get for
writing a application client using weblogic is very much welcome.
Please give your valuable suggestions.

servlet/jsp programs will work successfully in getting initial context of
application server, because they runs at server side, and server
automatically loaded the client library.
If you are using application client, you need to point the weblogic.jar the
application client classpath.What is the exception it is throwing?
Can you test the weblogic samples from the following location of your
installation
\bea\wlserver6.1\samples\examples
