New GRC Accelerators

Hello Everyone,
GRC has worked hard to provide you with [implementation accelerators|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/bpx/grc] intended to simplify the implementation of GRC solutions.
We will continue investing in this effort only if we know that the material is useful for you.
Please take a minute to complete these [9 questions |http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=sfyZ20qVg33i4Em9XOcdZQ_3d_3d]about our accelerators. In addition to confirming the value of our documents to you, this survey will help us to improve and adapt the accelerators to your needs.
Thank you and Best Regards,

Regional Implementation Group - SAP GRC

1. AACG corresponds to ICM.
In the new GRC Suite 8.6.3 which modules and products have following functionality & inbuilt seeded data pertaining to:
i) Key controls repository for various business processes.
ii) Key controls testing and test steps for various business processes
You need to use EGRCM for documenting all these. It does not come with any seeded functionality as of now. If you looking for Automated Controls specific to an ERP then you need to use TCG, PCG or CCG. But again they need to be configured for specific controls.
iii) SOD conflicts and violations that are unacceptable: AACG. You will need to get the library from Oracle or a vendor. AACG does not come seeded with the rule set.

  • GRC 10.0 - Centralized Emergency Access

    Hi experts,
    Have a question lets see if someone else have faced this same concern.
    We are facing an implementation of the new GRC - AC 10.0 and when configuring the component Emergency Access (former SPM) we realized that in order to assign and end user to a FF ID, the end user account must be created in the GRC AC server.
    This concept changes from the last AC 5.3 version where end users only needed to be created in the SAP ERP and have the role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTER assigned in order to access transaction code /n/VIRSA/VFAT.
    So if what Iam saying is correct, that means that we have to create one user in GRC for each user that we have in the SAP ERP, is that correct? And, if that is correct, that means that we need to buy as many licenses for GRC 10.0 as the one that we have for the SAP ERP?
    Thanks very much for your support
    Best regards,

    Hi,
    only user who shall be able to use FFIDs (EAM) need a user on the GRC box! I guess these are not all users in your SAP ERP system?!

  • SAP GRC 10.0 Risk Management - Forecasting Horizon Scoring Analysis Mode

    Hi everyone,
    In SAP GRC 10.0 Risk Management Support Package 7, we need to assess a corporate risk by performing an automatic analysis aggregation based on a scoring analysis profile.
    The problem is that corporate risks must be created based on a forecasting horizon.
    So, can we create forecasting horizons with scoring analysis mode? How? Must be enabled through customizing or applying a SAP note?
    Best Regards,
    Chema Traveso

    Hi,
    I think this is still user-specific, as it was in 5.X. I have checked the new GRC authorisation object parameters delivered within the roles and also tried to see if a Admin user was able to see all the variants created by the different users, but so far I have not found a solution.
    It may be worthwhile to raise this in "IdeaPlace", hoping it gets enough votes and SAP's attention for implementing in a future Support Pack delivery.

  • GRC 10.0 Database average size

    Hello everybody,
    A customer has asked me how to size their disks for their new GRC 10.0 Risk Management installation.
    Installation guides and sizing guidelines provide information for software space occupation, but the size of the database should depend on the specific customer project, I believe.
    Therefore, I know that a precise answer is not possible but in your experience what "order of magnitude" could a GRC RM database reach? Several MB? Some GB? Hundreds of GB? TB?
    Many thanks in advance
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
    Size of the database depends upon the on:
    1. No of systems you are going to connect
    2. Users in each system
    3. Roles and authorizations in each system
    4. Risks in each system
    Approx databse size for GRC installation is around 120 GB.

  • SAP GRC 10.0 - Risk Analysis - Define global variant

    Hi Experts,
    We are implementing SAP GRC 10.0 and we have a question about variant management in Access Risk Analysis.
    When we saved a variant, it seems that this variant is user specific.
    Is it to possible to define this variant as default for all users?

  • GRC 10 EAM - Unable to assign Firefighter roles to owners

    Greetings SAP gurus,
    I am currently on a new GRC 10 installation and having issues with the Emergency Access Management (EAM) component previously known as FireFighter or SPM.  Note: We are trying to implement the Firefighter ''Role-Based" Approach.
    Issue: We are unable to assign EAM roles to owners within NWBC. Click on 'Assign owners to Firefigher ID's and provision Firefighter ID's to firefighters' via the Access Management Tab within NWBC, option Superuser Assignment. Click on Assign.  We are able to find the owners, but when I search for roles to assign, I get the error, 'No records found for the search criteria entered''.
    We are on SP7.
    Items completed:
    1) All post installation tasks were completed correctly, i.e. BC sets activated, connector groups created and working.
    2) EAM roles created on target system and imported via BRM.
    3) EAM role properties edited for "Firefighting' usage in BRM, role owners defined, functional areas defined, business process and sub process areas defined.
    4) Access control owners (i.e. role owners and controllers) defined.
    5) The ID being used for configuration is currently assigned all GRC_NWBC roles available.
    6) The connector groups are working fine and we are using for the Access risk Analysis component which is working fine.
    7) The post EAM configuration steps has been completed.
    Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?  I look forward to your responses.
    Rgds,
    Prevlin Moodley

    Hello Prevlin,
    Are you using a FF role owner for the assignment. This might be helpful:

  • Migration of GRC AC 5.2 configurations into GRC AC 5.3

    Hello,
    I already have GRC AC 5.2 on 1 system. We have GRC AC 5.3 installed on a seperate system.
    We would like to download/ upload all the rules, functions, risks, mitigations etc from old GRC AC 5.2 to new GRC AC 5.3 system.
    My query is.
    What would be the best approach among the below 3 options.
    Option 1- Download rules, functions, risks, mitigations from old GRC AC 5.2 and upload them to new GRC AC 5.3 system. (I assume it will append)
    Option 2- Export rules, functions, risks, mitigations from old GRC AC 5.2 and Import them to new GRC AC 5.3 system. (I assume it is overwrite)
    Option 3- Install GRC AC 5.3 System and upload 5.3 ruleset, functions, risks and mitigations and then download 5.2 rules, risks, mitigations, and upload them in 5.3?
    Thanks for your valuable inputs in advance.
    Thanks,
    Haleem

    Haleem,
      Here is my respone:
    Option 1: This is not even an option. There is no way you can download and upload the files with append option. Append option requires files in totally different format.
    Option 2: This may or may not work. I have never done it.
    Option 3: This is your best bet.

  • GRC AC Help

    Hello community!
    I´m working in a new GRC AC implementation, I never did it before and in a first momment I thought it should not be so hard,well... looks like I was wrong. In a first moment I should implement only BRM and ARM. Users should be able to manage roles from all plugged systems through GRC AC and also your the default workflows for access request and approval.
    I´m following the guide http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80063a8e-1da6-2e10-aaa5-fda1f0936c37?QuickLink=index&… for BRM but seems like some steps are not present.
    I´m wondering if someone with implementation experiance can give me answers for the questions bellow:
    1 - How long in average a project for ARM and BRM implemetation takes? Considering an almost "default" implementation.
    2 - Can someone send me a schedule task for the AC implementation? So I can use it as a base for my schedule.
    3 - I purchased the "Implementing SAP Governace, Risk, and Compliance" book from the SAP Press website. Basically the book and the guide aforementioned are my references. If someone can contribute commenting or sending new references I would really appreciate.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pedro

    Hi Podro,
    See my answers embedded below.
    Pedro Botega wrote:
    1 - How long in average a project for ARM and BRM implemetation takes? Considering an almost "default" implementation.
    It really depends on how many systems you are going to be connecting to the GRC system and of what types (i.e. ECC, SRM, BW, Portal, non-ABAP etc). Additionally it also depends on how complex your custom Access Approval workflow may be. In addition, if you are a big company, you may phase your Go-lives by regions, hence lengthening the effort not just technically, but in terms of finalising and agreeing the GRC business processes, test phases and training etc.....in short, there is a lot to think about and consider.
    2 - Can someone send me a schedule task for the AC implementation? So I can use it as a base for my schedule.
    Most companies retain this as their own IP, so probably not. However, from experience, a simple implementation of GRC AC with ARA/EAM from start to finish should not take more than 3 months (being very generous here!). A full on implementation involving all 4 modules (ARA, EAM, ARM, BRM) can be simple and last a generous 4/5 months if the approval flows are designed simple (or the SAP delivered workflows are used).
    However, if the landscape gets technically complex (number of target systems and 3rd party systems etc) and the approval flows get complex, you could be looking at a 5-10 month project. Sometimes the customer could have multiple test phases and dry runs, making the project last longer(!). If you are implementing BRM to build your rules from start to end, expect some challenges, hence adding time. Needless to say, delays are easily caused by technical gremlins within the product itself. Start befriending SAP Support marketplace and digging for new SNOTES
    Some companies offer a Rapid Deployment capability (both SAP and 3rd Party specialists). This would be worth researching into if you wish to save some money in terms of implementation costs.
    3 - I purchased the "Implementing SAP Governace, Risk, and Compliance" book from the SAP Press website. Basically the book and the guide aforementioned are my references. If someone can contribute commenting or sending new references I would really appreciate.
    Personally, I would start reading the documents on this page SAP Access Control 10.0 and obviously dig around this SCN forum, there are enough talented individuals sharing their experience on this thread and alot of your future questions are likely to have been already asked/discussed/answered on this forum also

  • Baisc RAR question - how to get a violation

    Hello,
    we've installed a new GRC Access Control 5.3_10.2 System. RAR and CUP have been configured according to the config-guide and the post installation process. As backend system a IDES system with HR has been connected.
    Connection to the system works fine and I have active rules, risks, actions and imported users and roles.
    A job to generate a management report runs properly.
    Within the management report there is data (shows number of risks, roles etc.) but absolutely no violations!
    I tried to provoke a violation, using a SAP standard risk for HR: H001 (which can be seen in RAR and is active).
    This risk has 2 actions that are not allowed to be used together: HR03 (containing transaction PA30) and PY04 (containing transaction PA03). Now I created two roles, one for accessing PA30, the other one accessing PA03. A composite role containing the 2 single roles I created as well. There is a User that has this comp. role.
    When importing data from the backend, I can find the user and the 3 roles in RAR. But after running an analysis job there is still no violation! Using the rule architect to find critical roles brings no violations as well.
    What am I doing wrong? Do I have to use ALL actions within a function or do I have to configure something else?
    Thanks in advance
    Matthias

    Hello Imanol,
    No I combined access to pa30+pa03 in one single role and assigned it to a user in backend.
    When synchronizing it with a job in RAR the new role is present but the check on neither the role nor the user gives me an access violation!
    Is it necessary to have ALL the actions defined in the functions since I only took ONE (trans-)action from both functions?
    --> I just figured out that when I want to create a new function, there are no actions (pre-)defined for my system. Is that normal? I reimported the su24 extract successfully but still no actions to be selected in function creator

  • How to use the Managed Review and Approval

    Hi,
    I'm a RIA Consultant at iDA MediaFoundry, Adobe Gold Partner in Belgium. I'm trying to figure out how the new solution accelerators work and how we can use them in the solutions that we develop for clients.
    I'm a bit stuck though with the Managed Review and Approval solution accelerator. I cannot figure out how the application actually works, how it communicates with livecycle and how we can use this application in our projects for clients.
    Does anyone have a tutorial or a document on how to use this solution accelerator? I know this is a rather big question, and the answer will be even bigger, but I really could use some help from anyone who knows how to use all this.
    Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Kind regards,
    Ronald Kamp

    I would also suggest that you look at the resources on devnet.

  • Localized Accelorator Keys

    Hi folks,
    I have a problem with localization and accelerator keys. I am developing a localized Swing GUI where a user can set his preffered Locale and then all texts are translated.... That's all no prob. The problem is, that in JMenus the accelerator keys for items are displayed not according to the set default locale (e.g., en-US) but are displayed according to the OS user.language (in my case de [German]). Hence, the accel. keys read, e.g., '*Strg-N*' instead of '*Ctrl-N*' as expected for default locale en.
    This is just a display problem, the functionality / the keys work fine, of course.
    I guess my prob is (somehow) related to the awt.properties. When invoking, e.g., KeyEvent.getKeyModifiersText(keyStroke.getModifiers() (which I assume is called for JMenuItems to display the acc keys) I get the modifier key as string in German. These properties are loaded on startup? according to the OS user language. If i change my user language (e.g., with the jvm switch -Duser.language=en) everything is fine. When changing this system property inside Java Code (e.g. in my main-method) the awt.properties are already loaded (somehow) with the OS user.language. Hence, this option doesn't work.
    Has anybody an idea / workaround how I get these modifier keys displayed localized. Is there perhaps a way to change the awt-property on runtime or, at least, to set the values of these properties, e.g. AWT.control?
    Thanks!

    The solution would be to set the user language or the locale before the Toolkit class gets loaded. This would generally be VERY early in the startup sequence, say the first lines of your main method. Because as soon as you start using any GUI related classes such as JFrame, the Toolkit class will also get loaded.
    In my first attempt to solve your problem it didn't work even though I set the locale on the FIRST line of my main method. The problem was that my test class itself extended from JFrame, so the JFrame class got loaded before the main method executed. And loading JFrame means also loading Component means loading Toolkit means the resources got loaded with the default VM user language.
    See the Toolkit class, where you can find the following code (I put a break point on this line):
    resources = ResourceBundle.getBundle("sun.awt.resources.awt", CoreResourceBundleControl.getRBControlInstance());Find below a running example which solves your problem:
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
    import java.util.Locale;

                                    null,
                                    "Notice language of dialog caption & buttons.\nThese also depend on the user.language");
            JFrame f = new JFrame("Accelerators");
            f.getContentPane().add(bar, BorderLayout.NORTH);
            f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            f.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
            f.setSize(300, 300);
            f.setVisible(true);

    Hello COmmunity,
    To Summarise in Short: New features introduced to V10.0 : GRC 10.0 is ABAP based, so extraction of data from users is fast & analysis as well.
    As usual, the names for the Access control tool has been changed
    A. Access Risk Analysis (RAR)
    1. USOBT & object information will be automatically updated with GRC rather than manual upload (earlier version)
    2. Mass Users can be imported from .CSV file for risk analysis, Role analysis etc.,
    3. Variant creation / reuse for any report analysis
    4. Option of having multiple rule sets & simulating users across multiple rule sets at same time
    5. Risk analysis for CUA, Composite roles
    6. Mitigation by system, risk id, mass mitigation for users, audit trail etc.,
    7. Risk analysis for HR objects
    B. Emergency Access Management (SPM)
    1. Mass reporting for all FF users, Ids, Executions
    2. Centrally maintained for all systems rather than individual ERPs.
    C. User Access Management (CUP)
    1. Customizable Access request forms
    2. HR based role assignment for position, org unit
    3. IDM integration using GRC Web services
    D. Business Role Management (ERM)
    1. Concept of Business role mapping for Technical roles.
    2. Audit Trails & PFCG Change history.
    Finally, the look, reporting format has been changed to provide additional information for analysis.
    More important - GRC V5.3 support is till 2015 & SAP has planned to push the customers to upgrade to 10.0. Eventually SAP is also planning to release GRC 11.0 by mid next year. So we have to wait & watch the show

  • Internal Verizon Network problems - How to escalate tickets

    Does anyone have a number other than the standard technical support to contact to escalate a ticket?  I have had two experiences where first line support opened an automated test ticket which supposedly found a problem that a technician needed to be dispatched.  Both were closed, and no technician ever came to the house. Last night a third ticket was opened by a rep who was not willing to transfer me to a supervisor.
    I have done extensive troubleshooting and determined the internal Verizon network is experiencing 14-22% packet loss on server nsrest01.verizon.net which happens to be the primary served DNS for my area.  This occurs especially when sending ping packets 512k or larger.  Incidentally the first two hops are not having packet loss that I can detect.
    If you have a Windows box, drop to a command prompt and do ping -t -l 512 nsrest01.verizon.net  and let it run for 20 minutes and see how much packet loss it receives.  Even from other broadband providers the pings are lossy.
    First line support is looking at my end of the circuit as the problem.  I have been told that I can not email any logs to support, which is rediculous.  I have spent hours of my time opening tickets, waiting for automated tests,  and waiting for technicians who did not show up.  How many of these does a customer need to open with first level support before they can be helped?

    While I do not know the answer to your question, #1 I point can tell that you can test the DNS Servers http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm #2 And I point you to the post by "Kerry Liles" said at "news.grc.com" in the "grc.techtalk" area in a thread titled "Problems Accessing A Couple Of Websites" X-Url: http://www.GRC.com/groups/techtalk:231784 Xref: news.grc.com grc.techtalk:231784 http://12078.net/grcnews/article.php?group=grc.techtalk&id=231784 Quick quote ** Many ISPs cannot configure and run a proper dns service. Although it is not an easy task, it is possible to do so **
