New Hardware-Old OS Version

I have an application that is supported only on 2.6. I have a new Sun220R, and due to a Purchasing Snafu, no OS Media Kit was sent with it. I have an older issue of 2.6 (5/98) that I can load up. Will this Code or build version work with this new hardware?
I am desperate, I have a new box with no OS, and am not sure when the Purchase of new OS will be done. Luckily I am not to blame for the screwup. YET!

Yes, you can install 2.6 5/98 on your E220R. If the processor speed is 450mhz you will need to boot the Operating Environment Installation CD that came with your E220R . Check inside the front cover of the booklet "Installing Solaris on selected Hardware".

I opened my old firefox. went under Application Basics. clicked on open containing folder. That opened. Now how do I open my new profile folder? I am sure I am missing something. I just can't figure out what! I have all my old bookmarks. I just need the cookies and saved passwords. I am still confused on the open new profile folder and right click and paste. Where is my new folder. Is it after Open Containing Folder just like on the old profile? The window that opens up when you do that? I just don't want to be adding to it if that is not where I go!!!

Higher version listener serving new and old DB Versions

We have 11g Listener serving 2 11g databases and 1 9i database. All 3 databases using default listener with 1521 port. How can I disable 9i database without affecting other 2 databases?
Listener.ora file has entries for 2 11g databases but none for 9i, so looks like 9i database using dynamic registration. Any suggestions?

You can not disable as such. You have to create separate listener if you want 11g's listener not to be used by 9i database. I do not think you will get any problem connecting through 11g's listener to 9i database.

If it's the same machine (same CPU) there should not be any need to activate. The actiovation is tied to your CPU.

New firefox installed - didn't give me the option of not installing it before telling me that (essential to me) add-ons were incompatible. How can I get the old firefox version back?

I would not have installed the new firefox if I had known in advance that two of my essential add-ons would no longer work. Now I want the old firefox version back so I can continue to function until the add-ons are updated. Suggestion: when you notify user that add-ons are incompatible, give the option of reverting to an earlier firefox version.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

It does not seem likely that CS6 was upgraded from version 10. You might want to check your purchase history in your Adobe account to see if there is some missing link in the chain of purchases you made.

When i try to restore my Back up using Itunes this is the message i get - "Unable to restore backup as the software is old - Please setup as a new device and then try to restore your backup" - Please advise. Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

If I download music to iTunes directly that music does not transfer to the iPhone when I sync it to iTunes, but music from the iPhone is copied to iTunes... Any one else who has experienced this and/or have a solution? I'm having big problems with using bluetooth handsfree and I've heard that got better with the new bluetoothversion.

You should probably just download the trial version of pse 12 and see if you can live with it.

You have to understand the difference between an Update and an Upgrade.
An Update is a free change to add to the base code or as a bug fix within an existing Operating System. Such as the .8 added to 10.5.
An Upgrade is a complete new Operating System that must be purchased. Such as 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
10.5 Leopard was based on Power PC code and was written to be able to run on both Power PC and Intel processors.
10.6 Snow Leopard has completely rewritten code and only runs on Intel Macs.
10.7 Lion used some 32 bit which allows it to run on Late 2006 through Early 2008 MacBooks and a lot of 64 bit code.
10.8 Mountain Lion is pure 64 bit, which excludes more systems than Lion did. It's not something you can add memory to, for example, as it involves the base architecture.

I wish to transfer Quicken and iPhoto from the old to the new.
I tried using wired Migration Assistant and received error message.
So following directions for alternate methods I used a flash drive. It seemed to work but I received error message to the effect that the PowerPC G4 is not compatible with the new system with 2.7 GHz Intel Core.
I discissed by phone with Apple service rep who indicated that it is true that this transfer is not possible.
But this HT 3231 article seems to say that it is possible. Any suggestions?

Properly configure the flash drive:
Drive Partition and Format
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to APM then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Copy the files from the old machine to the flash drive. Then plug the flash drive into the new computer. Copy the files from the flash drive.
You need to understand that the files are no likely to be compatible which means you may not be able to use them. But the above process will transfer the files properly.

New Dashboards 4.0 ask for passwords while editing old xlf version

While trying to edit an old xlf in the new xelsius version (4.0) the solutions is asking me for unprotect sheet and is telling me to put a password that I don't know. Why is happening this? How is the best way for editing old xlf versions. I thought I have to open the xlf and save it with the new version.

If you need to increase or decrease the size of fonts and other elements in the user interface and web pages then you can increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to see what works best.
In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.
