New hdd for my macbook pro 15'' from 2007

Hi mi macbook pro is 15'' and from 2007. I've been told by one guy from regent street in london from the stuff that i need to replace my HDD, and im looking on webs for one. But mine is 2GHZ INTEL CORE DUO, but all i can find are Core 2 duo, and not sure if im gonna buy it and then dont work on my laptop. Can someone help me?

Whether you have a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo is irrelevant to replacing a HDD.
You need a 2.5 inch notebook SATA drive that is not more than 9.5 mm high. I would recommend a Seagate product. You can install drives up to 1 TB, but be sure it isn't more than 9.5 mm high. Since I am in the US I cannot recommend a place to buy drives or what their prices will be. However, you can check out OWC to for their video tutorials on how to replace a drive in your model.
I would suggest you might consider buying a newer computer model as yours is completely obsolete.

Can I change a new battery for my MacBook Pro 15' Retina? How?

    Hi!
About a month ago, my MBPr 15", mid 2012 (Model Identifier10,1) showed, at first, Battery Service warning and on the next day X over the battery icon with Battery Not Available message in the status. MBP would run only and while the charger was plugged in, plug led would be always green, when connected. Battery test third party sw would not detect the battery, any longer.
Replacing upper case with battery/keyboard/trackpad, as per Apple,  in my country was too expensive, over 1000 USD, did't make any sense to me, so I've chosen DIY option (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLhHSIej9fs) with all necessary precautions like tools, ESD protection grounded pad in place and ordered "new" replacement battery from Hong Kong on Ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/400699766989?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STR K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT).
Yesterday I came in new packing/sealed, I installed it, plugged the power cable on, plug led would turn green and then orange, I thought it's ok, but once system booted, I saw again X over battery icon and "Battery Not Available". I checked all the hints on internet, tried several times SMC and EPRON resets, no success. I filed complaint to Ebay supplier, he replied that battery undergone test prior the shipment, but ready for return and refund.
So, I can make another try and buy the battery from Ebay but what if the problem is with my logic board? From one hand charger plug led lights orange when connected to MBP, on another hand System doesn't see the battery at all: No battery in the System info/Hardware/Power. it works absolutely fine when plugged-in to charger. I ran extended AHT (over pressed "D" key while powering on) twice with No Problem in return. So, my question is does it ultimately mean that Logic Board and power circuits are all fine and the whole thing is about "new bad" battery? I there any way to entirely test Logic board and narrow down problem origin?
Thank you for attention in advance,

can i buy new battery for my macBook pro in egypt ?
and where i find it ? and how much

Here are the International Apple support telephone numbers:

I note Egypt is not listed.
Purchasing a battery from a third party vendor is a high risk proposition.  Many such batteries have been found to be substandard.
I suggest that you try and contact Apple and see if you can have one shipped to you.

  • In need of new charger for 2009 Macbook Pro

I got my Macbook Pro in the summer of '09, along with a charger cable. Now my charger has finally decided that it no longer wants to work properly, forcing me to maneuver it in all kinds of positions to make the connection happen (I think it got crimped somewhere along the way, and now it takes playing around to find the connection again).
I want to get a new charger, but I don't know which kind to get. The one I currently have has a T-shaped connector; does this mean I need to get one with the same shape, or could I get an L-shaped head? I know that the ones for Macbook air don't fit (my sister has one, and it's wider and narrower than mine), and I have no idea what version of MagSafe I have (writing on the bottom is kind of rubbed off). Any ideas?

You should replace it with the same model - 85 watt with T connector. However, it's likley the L shaped one will work as well. This is for a MacBook Pro.
Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adaptor (for 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro).
Apple no longer sells the T-shaped adaptors. However, you can find refurbished replacements elsewhere by searching with Google.

  • Changing HDD for my Macbook Pro?

    Hey people.
I got a Macbook Pro 2010 model. The Core 2 Duo one before it went to the "i series." I just wanna know if I can change my 320gb hdd to like a 1TB or if not a 750gb. I know that i will be relying on my mac more than my PC these days so i guess i gotta make sure i have sufficient space.
    Regards.

  • I need a new router for my MacBook Pro, OS 10.9.3

Need a new router for OS 10.9.3 and found that Linksys E2500 is not compatible. Any suggestions for a moderately priced router that will work for a 2300 square foot home and patio? Thanks!

It depends on what your idea of moderately priced is... however, I would go with the 6th generation Apple AirPort Extreme -> http://store.apple.com/us/product/ME918LL/A/airport-extreme?fnode=4d.
It's a joy of a router and so simple to configure with the AirPort Utility. Unlike some routers, where the setup takes a network genius to configure and maintain, you can access all the settings you need through the utility. I've had dozens of routers in my lifetime but the 6th generation AirPort Extreme beats them all, hands down, and is well worth the extra money that it may cost. It's also 'future-proof,' so if you buy a machine that utilizes 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, you'll be set.
I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • I got a new harddrive for my MacBook Pro and successfully restored the mac partition, but I don't know how to restore the bootcamp partition.

So I got a new hard drive for my early 2009 version Mac Book Pro and some new memory to speed the little guy up.  I was trying to copy the Mac and BOOTCAMP partitions onto the new drive, and I am close, but not home free.
Here's what I have done so far:
I got an external cage thing for the new/old HD.
I put the new HD in the cage and cloned the mac and BOOTCAMP partitions to the new disk while booted from a DVD.
I put the new drive in the machine and the old one in the cage.
I booted the machine and it loaded the mac side fine.
When I tried to use the 'option' key to, select the system I wanted to boot into on the reboot, it didn't show me the windows (bootcamp) option.
That's where I am at.  When I go into disk utility it shows my BOOTCAMP partition in the list of logical disks under my disk, but it is grayed out.  I can mount it, but when I restart, I can't select it.  I feel like I am so, so close.  What do I need to do?
(BTW, the old drive, the dude I am trying to clone, still exists in its entirety in the cage; I could put it back in and go from there if I had to.)
Let me know what you all think!
    -Ricardo

Do you mean you want to reinstall Leopard? If you want to boot from your Leopard DVD do this:
Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
    1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
    4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
    5. Wait for installer to finish loading.

  • Can i purchase a new unibody for my MacBook Pro?

My laptop has dented, Is it possible to have a new unibody installed?

We can't answer that, as we don't know specifically what part is dented.  Further, a dent is an indication of physical trauma, and no matter how well-behaved your computer may be right now, it could fail at any time.  Or it could have nothing wrong with the internals whatsoever.  Be prepared, by keeping the data on that machine backed up very frequently, and be ready at a moment's notice to plunk down some cash for repairs or replacement.

  • Can i buy more storage for my MacBook Pro separately from apple?

I have a 350 GB hard drive, and i was looking to buying a 750 GB and having apple install it manually at one of their retail stores. Am i able to buy a hard drive separately from apple?

You can purchase any standard 2.5" notebook hard drive or SSD (although, you should check the forums for compatibility comments if you're looking for an SSD).  You can very easily install the drive yourself following the instructions in your user manual.  However, Apple will only install their own supplied drives.  They will not install a drive that you bring to them.  You can, however, go to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) and have them install your drive for you:
