New header creating new paragraph

Whenever I make the second page  of a document have a new header (relative to the first page of the document), a new paragraph break gets inserted between the first and second pages. This will be in the middle of sentence. I have no idea what's causing it.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Pages Version: 5.5.1
OSX Yosemite Version: 10.10.1
Doubt this is pertinent, but for specificity's sake:
MacBook Pro (Retina,13-inch, Late 2013)
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

To get a new Header in the second page you will have had to have a Section Break, a Section Break is the same as a return as far as the text is concerned.

  • How do I create a new paragraph Style in Pages for iPad?

I opened an RTF document in iOS 6 Pages for iPad. How do I create new paragraph Syles?

Style is a function of the template applied to the document (and/or the limited number built in to Pages). You can mofify the text or apply one of the built in styles, but I do not beleive within Pages in iOS you can create a new style.

  • Not able to create new paragraph format for copied layout of WESCHEINVERS3

    hi all,
Iam facing one of the pecular problem I copied WESCHEINVERS3 into Zlayout from client 000.
when i tried to create new paragraph format I found the create element greyed out I have never seen this issue earlier.
May I know why the menu path paragraph->EDIT->create element is greyed out.
    thanks

    Hi,
U can create new paragraph formats, windows, character formats etc., only in original language of the FORM.. I guess u were trying to create a new paragraph format in 'EN' but the original language of form 'WESCHEINVERS3' is 'DE', so u can create the new paragaraph format in the copied Z form only in DE language.
Try to open the Z FORM in DE and create the Paragraph format...
    Hope it helps!!

  • Creating a new paragraph style based on text in a document

    I'm working on some scripts for a new ad our company is working on. They are wanting to have the ability to change the font weekly in the ads. However, they want the style sheets to change based on this. What I am having to do is write a script that gets the properties of the different paragraphs in the selected text frame, and make paragraph styles. Is there a way to get the properties of paragraph 1, and use that information to make a new paragraph style? Here is what I have so far;
set charaStyle to get properties of character charaSelect of paragraph paraOne of myBox
    set makeStyle to make character style with properties {name:"MF Price" & charaSelect, based on:properties of character charaSelect}
We are using InDesign CS 3. Thank you in advance for the help.

this way - build ParaStyle definition from selected text - works only in UI
in scripting you need to write your own procedure - read all params and set them one-by-one in ParaStyle definition

  • New Paragraph from existing Paragraph's Override

    Hi!
I'm looking for something similar to Power Styles (http://www.dtptools.com/product.asp?id=psid), but not quite so generic. Essentially, I'd like to have a script which creates new paragraph styles from the overrides to a paragraph style.
For the extracts placed into our books, we use a specific style (Extract) for them. However, since our extracts are rarely the same, we use overrides to tweak the look in order to appear in the printed version correctly. Unfortunately, since we do it this way, exporting to ePub removes the overrides, causing the look to become generic and loose it's appropraite appearance. Power Styles will fix it, but it tags every override in every paragraph style, causing our ePub's CSS to be bloated. What I'm hoping for is a script we can run which will target the paragraph styles Extract and create new ones based on the overrides and apply the new paragraph style.
Has anybody heard of a plugin or a script which will perform this?
    Thank you!

  • New Paragraph

I just find out that all emails sent from my N8 are cramped up into one single paragraph eventho I wrote several paragraphs when composing, making it more difficult to read.
Is there a way to create a new paragraph or is there a setting I missed?

I know that this problem is also present in the new beta version of Nokia Email (3.05) available on Nokia Beta Labs.
This happens even when writing a standard text-only (no HTML) mail. The bug is reportedly fixed, but still not available.
Perhaps the N8 e-mail client has the same issue? although frankly, this is the first time I hear about this on the N8, and surely if this was a general problem more people would have reported it..

  • How can I move text onto the following line in CSS without making a new paragraph?

    Hello there,
I want to do the follow:
    Name of company,
    Address of company 1,
    Address of company 2,
    Address of company 3,
When I press enter to move the text underneath the previous text, it starts a new paragraph which I don't want. How can I simply get it to flow onto the next line without creating a new paragraph?
    Thanks so much in advance.

    You can use <br />
    <p>
    Address 01<br />
    Address 02<br />
    Address 03<br />
    </p>
I'd probaly type it out in Code View but I think you can use shift+enter

  • How do I set Pages to capitalise the first word of a new paragraph

Does anyone know how I set Pages to capitalise the first word of a new paragraph.

  • Since upgrading to Yosemite, when I hit either apostrophe or quotation key in Apple Mail , that starts new paragraph

Since upgrading to Yosemite, when I hit either apostrophe or quotation key in Apple Mail, that starts new paragraph like I am hitting the return/enter key right next to the key I am hitting.
I've eliminated the possibility that I suffer from fat finger syndrome by ruling out the issue in other apps like Pages/Word (apostrophe/quotation works fine).  This is only happening in Apple Mail.  Example: [ Can't ] appears as [ Can' ] with [ t ] as the start of a new paragraph.  I use an Apple wireless keyboard, so I also tried using an Apple keyboard connected by USB port.  Still have the same issue in Apple Mail, but not in other apps.
    Any idea what this is?

    Update.
This only happens when I am typing above my signature information or replying to an email when the body of the email I am responding to included.  Does not happen when I am typing a blank email.
    Thanks,

  • Adding new "Paragraph Styles"

    Hi,
I am trying to modify different text styles in different cells in Numbers 3.5.2 (Yosemite) and I cannot figure out how add a new Paragraph Style to the existing drop-down styles list. Is there a duplicate existing style or add a new style option in this Numbers version? The "+" next to "Paragraph Styles" in the drop-down list does not work in Numbers but works in Pages or Keynote, is this a bug?
    Thanks for the help!

I found the answer and posting it in case others have the same issue.
A text inside the cell has to be selected for the "+" sign to be activated, just selecting an empty cell alone does not activate the "+" sign.

  • Making A New Paragraph Out of an Existing One

Say I'm trying to make a new paragraph and I space a group of words to another line so that I can start a new paragraph with those groups of words and sentences...the problem I'm having is that once I space all those words to the next line to make a new paragraph, they won't space out from the left margin, I have to hit my TAB button to indent for a new paragraph which I don't prefer...I'd rather just space the words 5 spaces but I can't do that because the text won't space out from the left margin.. I hope you understand what I'm saying...it's another annoying thing about Pages that's really bothering me...

    Hello
    You wrote:
+It's called paragraph indent in English.+
    Thank you
+I consider it a basic wordprocessing technique. It works on my 1899 L.C. Smith typewriter too.+
It works perfectly in Pages too.
Simply, the default indent value is zero.
This is why I passed a screenshot showing you how to set the indent value.

  • Why doesn't it begin a new paragraph when I press "enter?"

Supposedly, when in paragraph mode, you can begin a new paragraph by pressing "Enter" in Windows.  But, when I press "enter" it commits and takes me out of paragraph editing mode.  This is very frustrating.  What is the remedy?

I only experience the problem when I'm trying to do paragraph text in Adobe CS4.  I have a Lenovo laptop that has 2 enter buttons:  one with the number keys and the second with the alphabet keys.  For whatever reason, both enter keys "commit" the text when pressed.  I did find out that if I press the FN key with the Enter Key, then it takes me to the next paragraph.  But, that is a little "weird" since regular paragraph text doesn't work like that.  Can this be changed in my settings?
    Thanks,

  • I can no longer back-delete or hit return to make a new paragraph, nor can i use the arrows to go backwards and forwards in a line; it's like the fn key is stuck; i've taken it off and cleaned it, and it looked clean.

Then it's time for a new keyboard.  If you are still under warranty, call AppleCare.

  • Want it change right shift key to be new paragraph

Hi, I want to change the function of the right shift key to oda new paragraph.   I checked the users guide but it didn't answer my question.

The return key just above the right shift key stars a new paragraph. You'll have to be satisfied with that cause you cannot reprogram they keys.
