A question to start off with.... How does one program Dreamweaver so that it will automatically format in different browsers (sizes). Is this even possible?

I'm confused. Are you saying that your mac came with an older version of OS X, but you want to be able to use OS X Lion, which you downloaded from the App store? If this is not the case, what do you mean by "I downloaded os x but my laptop started off with os x lion and i want os x lion back"? Specifically, what do you mean by "I downloaded OS X" if your mac came with Lion? -
My new mac book pro turns off with out my will
I bought a macbook pro17" 2,33 (3gb ram , 100SD@7200rpm)in 12th of june and since then it has a big problem!! It suddenly stops working and turns off without my will !! after that turns on and sometimes freezes with the white screen with apple logo!! I run hardware test and it found no. 4/mem4/40000000jgpa.:oxbd644c10 and 4/mem4/40000000jgpa.:1c7688cc !! It;s a big problem and I am going to get at least a new one..I can't take it this repaired .I paid about 3400 usd and i am extremely dissapointed!!
With the right approach, you may still be able to have your MacBook Pro designated as Dead On Arrival (DOA). Otherwise, consider doing some basic repair steps as listed below. From my previous post:
Repairing Permissions and/or Resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU) is known to resolve certain anomalies or conditions, and may help with your symptom. Neither process will compromise or harm anything with your Mac so it’s worth a shot.
Repair Permissions:
Go to: Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
Select: your Hard Drive
Select: the First Aid tab
Select: Repair Permissions
Resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU)
If the computer is on, turn it off.
Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
Press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
Press the Power button to restart the computer.

Getting a new macbook, questions about transferring files with Time Machine
I now plan to switch computers to one of the new Macbook pros. Since I now use Time Machine, I'm planning to just upload the backup to the new computer when I get it. the backups are able to be transferred to a new one for an upgrade right?
Also, I had to switch hard drives once about 2 years ago, and when I did, the backup DVD I made for my iTunes didn't remember which of my ~2000 songs are checked and which aren't, leaving me to have to do it manually over the course of a few weeks. Will Time Machine do this for me?
I'm also running Leopard atm, will there be any problems uploading all the info since the new computer will be running Snow Leopard, and the backup was made through Leopard?falkner09 wrote:

Not via a full system restore. You want to use +Setup Assistant+ when the new Mac first starts up. You can transfer directly from the old Mac, or it's backups. See [Setting up a new Mac from an old one or its backups|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/Setup.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Snow Leopard > Installation and Setup+ forum).
Firewire from the old Mac will be fastest, by far. If you use your network, connect via Ethernet cable; wireless will take an eternity.

That's what +Setup Assistant+ is all about; it transfers everything except the old version of OSX. -

We are looking at ways to help narrow down search results. The system is being implemented to manage Policies, the managers manage policies using Word Documents and are stored in a Library, and the published documents are saved as PDF files and are stored

is it possible to make it so end users can search only the published policy folder and give the managers to search both (ideally separately, depending on what they are working on). We are basically looking for ways to create more managed search
environments.The way SharePoint Search works it to only show results for the "stuff" to which a user has access. So the users can get only those results for which they are intended to get. Other than that you can set refinement to get differnt types of metadata
filtered in search result.

Also, make a backup to iTunes of the device. Then restore it as a new device. If you still have wi-fi greyed out, then contact Apple again, and explain that you believe you have a hardware issue. They may still ask for a $19 deposit, but if it is actually hardware related, then you won't be charged the $19. Only if it is software related do you get charged that $19. -
Help starting off with Flash animations?
I just started to make flash animations using Adobe Flash CS4, but there's something I just don't understand.
To create an animated object, I know I have to create a new movie clip symbol, animate it, and then put it in the main scene. But when I drag the symbol from the library to the main scene, only the first frame of the animation is copied! How can I copy the entire animation of a movie clip symbol to the main scene?If I'm correct, you say that I should press enter to play the animation, but pressing enter does nothing when I'm in the main scene (in fact, the Play command under the Control tab is greyed out). Right now I can see how my animation is going by going to Control -> Test Movie, but then it creates a swf file and then plays it, which means I can't play from a specific frame (right now my animation is small so it's ok, but having to go through all of it when it's longer will be problematic!). Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Question about Starting Eclipse with PVCS Version Manager Plugin and Flash Builder 4 plugin
I used Eclipse 3.4.2 SR2 with PVCS Version Manager plugin.
I installed Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plugin to the Eclipse.
Eclipse executed successfully at first time.
After I open *.mxml file with the Eclipse and close.
After minutes, I execute Eclipse.
But I waited 40 minutes to see Eclipse Editor screen.
Are there any problem in Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plugin?

Thank'sI experimented with the latest Zend Studio 8 trials on both platforms yesterday, and it looks a little different depending on which platform you're using:
On OS X, because Zend Studio is now contained entirely within the app bundle, it's tricky navigating to the proper eclipse folder with our Plug-in Utility. As it turns out, the Zend dropins folder does exist if you look down low enough:
/Applications/Zend Studio.app/Contents/Resources/Java/dropins
When I typed that path into the Burrito Plug-in Utility manually, it found the dropins folder, and proceeded to install the link without complaint. However, the Zend dropins folder is not working properly on OS X either, as already found on Win, so it's not using the link.
On Win, Zend Studio 8 doesn't include the dropins folder in the first place, as noted earlier. Apparently, Zend doesn't have its dropins folder enabled on either Mac or Win.
To see if this problem is specific to dropin links, I downloaded the latest Orbit plugins from eclipse.org and tried adding those directly to the Zend dropins folder, instead of using a link. Zend doesn’t appear to recognize them either.
I'll check with our contact at Zend to see what happened.

Starting off with Game Center - cannot search for Games
Hello. This will be obvious to existing users! I have set up as a user with Game Center and wish to search for Games Center-compatible games. Tap on Games - yes. Tap on Search. Er..no. I have Games Rcommendations in a grid - nothing else. No buttons, no search capability. I have obviously missed something. Can anyone help?
Hi and thanks for your reply. p296 of the iPad user guide specifies that in the App Store you tap Games then Find Game Center Games and it is this option which doesn't seem to exist (unless I've missed something).

My project is almost complete except for this last little thing that's been bugging me. A tutorial I followed had you start the game by clicking a button but I would like to change that to pressing the spacebar starts the game. I tried:

Hard disk in mums macbook failed, bought a new one, used sata adapter cable to format it for mac first. Connected it and have tried starting it with every possible key combination and I either get flashing question mark folder or a cursor. A disk is stuck in it so I can't boot from OSX, and yes I have tried every option of starting to try and eject disk but none work. HELP ME!
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.
If you have a 2010 MBP or later, then you can use Internet Recovery. Start by rebooting the computer. At the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION-R keys until a Globe appears in the upper part of the screen. This process can take upwards of 15 minutes to get connected to the Apple network servers. You should eventually see the utility screen of the Recovery HD. You may now go about the process to install Mountain Lion:
Install Lion/Mountain Lion on a New HDD/SDD
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -

now start playing with flash to see what you can do. you're not going to learn how to create your animation by asking questions.

Hello, My I Mac is a 2008 unit. Quite offen it will not power on, mouse lights then it goes off with no screen even if i press control/command rp keys.
Some other information the unit is from USA, a 110V and now in Philippines which is 220V I have it on a 110 voltage regulator.(can i plug in to 220 v directly?) I also ran MacKeeper thinking it could be a virus, but its not, i notice if i leave unit on without shut down, the problem occurs less, thinking its a battery problem but I'm not sure.
Here in Philippines we have no Mac stores and service is not like in the USA. Any ideas of what wrong?MacKeeper is highly invasive malware that can de-stablize your operating system. It is also unethically marketed and a rip-off.

Third party app writing to exercise ring
Can third party apps such as strava send their data on workouts to count towards the exercise ring? When I use strava on the watch for 25-30 mins all I get is 3-4 minutes of exercise registered, but when I use both strava and outdoor cycle i get the
